Meshech and Tubal were ancient peoples associated with Anatolia, and Gog leads them as part of a larger hostile alliance. Ezk 27:13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech were your merchants.… Prophesy against him Ezekiel must announce that God will judge Gog and the nations under his command when they come against His people. Ezk 11:4 Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, O son of man!” and declare that this is what the Lord GOD says: Ezekiel speaks with God’s authority, delivering a message that originates with the Lord rather than from human judgment. Ezk 27:10 Men of Persia, Lydia, and Put served as warriors.… as well as Gomer with all its troops, Gomer is commonly linked with the Cimmerians, a people who lived north of the Black Sea. Descended from Japheth, Gomer represents another northern people joining Gog’s invasion with its military forces. Ezk 27:20-22 Dedan was your merchant in saddlecloths for riding.… and the merchants of Tarshish with all its villages Tarshish represented a distant maritime trading power, and its associated communities shared commercial interests across a broad network. They stand as observers who understand the value of what is at stake. Ezk 27:25-27 The ships of Tarshish carried your merchandise.… will ask, ‘Have you come to capture the plunder? Their question exposes Gog’s true objective. The invasion is not presented as a defensive campaign but as an attempt to seize Israel’s prosperity. 2Ch 20:25 Then Jehoshaphat and his people went to carry off… Have you assembled your hordes to carry away loot, Gog’s coalition will be a vast and organized force, gathered for conquest and robbery. The scale of the army matches the scale of the intended plunder. Ezk 39:1 As for you, O son of man, prophesy against Gog… On that day when My people Israel are dwelling securely, Israel will be restored to its land and living in a condition of peace and safety granted by God, setting the stage for Gog’s invasion. Jer 23:6 In His days Judah will be saved; Israel will dwell securely.… will you not take notice of this? Gog will recognize Israel’s apparent security and be drawn into attacking, yet his actions will unfold according to God’s determined plan and lead to his judgment. God’s arrival in judgment against Gog will shake the whole created order. Animals and people alike will recognize His sovereign power, showing that the conflict is not merely between nations but an act of divine judgment visible to all the earth. Gen 7:21-23 And every living thing that moved upon the earth… The mountains will be thrown down, the cliffs will collapse, and every wall will fall to the ground. The upheaval will remove both natural landmarks and human defenses. Mountains, cliffs, and fortified walls that appear secure will not stand when God intervenes. Gog’s armies and the nations joined to him will find no refuge from the Lord’s judgment. Nam 1:5-6 The mountains quake before Him, and the hills melt away;… And I will summon a sword against Gog God will personally bring judgment on Gog and the forces gathered against Israel. The invading coalition will not escape by military strength or numbers, for the Lord directs the outcome of the conflict. Ezk 21:3-5 This is what the LORD says: ‘I am against you,… on all My mountains, Gog’s assault will reach the mountains of Israel, the land God has claimed and promised to His people. God declares His direct judgment against Gog and the nations gathered with him against Israel. Plague and bloodshed portray a devastating defeat brought about by God Himself, revealing His sovereignty over rulers and armies that oppose His purposes. Ezk 5:17 I will send famine and wild beasts against you… I will pour out torrents of rain, hailstones, fire, and sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him. The judgment will extend across Gog’s entire coalition. Rain, hail, fire, and sulfur demonstrate that creation is under God’s command and will serve His judgment. The destruction of this vast force will establish before the nations that no military alliance can prevail against the Lord. Psa 11:6 On the wicked He will rain down fiery coals and sulfur;… I will magnify and sanctify Myself, God will act decisively against Gog and the invading coalition, displaying His greatness and holiness through judgment. Their attack on Israel will expose the pride of the nations and demonstrate that no military power can oppose the Lord.
