Now
the
Feast
of
Unleavened [Bread],
called
[the] Passover,
was approaching,
1
Ἤγγιζεν
δὲ
ἡ
ἑορτὴ
τῶν
ἀζύμων
ἡ
λεγομένη
Πάσχα
2
and
the
chief priests
and
scribes
were looking
for a way
to put [Jesus] to death;
for
they feared
the
people.
2
καὶ
ἐζήτουν
οἱ
ἀρχιερεῖς
καὶ
οἱ
γραμματεῖς
τὸ
πῶς
ἀνέλωσιν
αὐτόν
ἐφοβοῦντο
γὰρ
τὸν
λαόν
3
Then
Satan
entered
Judas
Iscariot,
who was
[one]
of
the
Twelve.
3
Εἰσῆλθεν

Σατανᾶς
εἰς
Ἰούδαν
τὸν
καλούμενον
Ἰσκαριώτην

ἀριθμοῦ
τῶν

4
And
[Judas] went
to discuss with
the
chief priests
and
[temple] officers
how
he might betray
[Jesus]
to them.
4
καὶ
ἀπελθὼν
συνελάλησεν
τοῖς
ἀρχιερεῦσιν
καὶ
στρατηγοῖς

They were delighted
and
agreed
to give
him
money.
5
καὶ
ἐχάρησαν
καὶ
συνέθεντο
αὐτῷ
ἀργύριον

6
[Judas] consented,
and
began to look for
[an] opportunity
to betray
[Jesus]
to them
in the absence of
[a] crowd.
6
καὶ
ἐξωμολόγησεν
καὶ
ἐζήτει
εὐκαιρίαν

7
Then
came
the
day
of
Unleavened [Bread]
on
which
the
Passover lamb
was to
be sacrificed.
7
Ἦλθεν
δὲ
ἡ
ἡμέρα
τῶν
ἀζύμων

ᾗ

πάσχα
8
[Jesus] sent
Peter
and
John,
saying,
“Go
[and] prepare
for us
to
eat
the
Passover.”
8
καὶ
ἀπέστειλεν
Πέτρον
καὶ
Ἰωάννην
εἰπών
Πορευθέντες

ἡμῖν
τὸ
πάσχα

“Where
do You want
us to prepare [it]?”
they asked.
9
Οἱ

εἶπαν
αὐτῷ
Ποῦ

ἑτοιμάσωμεν
10
He answered,
“When you enter
the
city,
a man
carrying
a jug
of water
will meet
you.
Follow
him
to
the
house

10
Ὁ

αὐτοῖς

and
say
to the
owner
of that
house,
‘The
Teacher
asks,
“Where

guest room,
where
I may eat
the
Passover
with
My
disciples?”’
11
καὶ

Διδάσκαλος

And he

Make the preparations
there.”
12
κἀκεῖνος

13
So
they went
[and] found [it]
just as
[Jesus] had told
them.
And
they prepared
the
Passover.
13
Ἀπελθόντες
δὲ
εὗρον
καθὼς

αὐτοῖς
καὶ
ἡτοίμασαν
τὸ
πάσχα
14
When
the
hour
had come,
[Jesus] reclined at the table
with
His
apostles.
14
Καὶ
ὅτε

ἡ
ὥρα

And
He said
to
them,
“I have eagerly desired

My
suffering.

καὶ

For
I tell
you
that
I will not eat

it is fulfilled
in
the
kingdom
of God.”

After
taking
[the] cup,
[He] gave thanks
[and] said,
“Take

among
yourselves.

Καὶ

εὐχαριστήσας

For

you
that
I will not drink

from
now on
until

of God

19
And
He took
[the] bread,
gave thanks
[and] broke [it],
and
gave [it]
to them,
saying,
“This
is
My
body,
given
for
you;
do
this
in
remembrance
of Me.”
19
Καὶ

20
In the same way,
after
supper
[He took] the
cup,
saying,
“This

Then
they

60
“Man,
I do not know
what
you are talking about,”
Peter
replied.
While
he
was still speaking,
the rooster
crowed.
60
Εἶπεν
δὲ
ὁ
Πέτρος
Ἄνθρωπε
οὐκ
οἶδα
ὃ
λέγεις
καὶ
παραχρῆμα
ἔτι
λαλοῦντος
αὐτοῦ
ἐφώνησεν
ἀλέκτωρ
61
And
the
Lord
turned
[and] looked at
Peter.
Then
Peter
remembered
the
word
the
Lord
had spoken
to him:
“Before
[the] rooster
crows
today,
you will deny
Me
three times.”
61
καὶ
στραφεὶς
ὁ
Κύριος
ἐνέβλεψεν
τῷ
Πέτρῳ
καὶ
ὑπεμνήσθη
ὁ
Πέτρος
τοῦ
λόγου
τοῦ
Κυρίου
ὡς
εἶπεν
αὐτῷ
ὅτι
Πρὶν
ἀλέκτορα

62
And
he went
outside
[and] wept
bitterly.
62
καὶ
ἐξελθὼν
ἔξω
ἔκλαυσεν
πικρῶς
63
The
men
who
were holding
[Jesus]
began to mock
Him
[and] beat [Him].
63
Καὶ
οἱ
ἄνδρες
οἱ
συνέχοντες
αὐτὸν
ἐνέπαιζον
αὐτῷ
δέροντες
64
They
blindfolded
Him
[and] kept demanding,
“Prophesy!
Who
hit
You?”
64
καὶ
περικαλύψαντες
αὐτὸν
⧼ἔτυπτον
αὐτοῦ
τὸ

ἐπηρώτων
λέγοντες
Προφήτευσον
τίς

And
they said
many {other}
blasphemous
things
against
Him.
65
καὶ
ἕτερα
πολλὰ
βλασφημοῦντες
ἔλεγον
εἰς
αὐτόν
66
At daybreak
the
council of the elders
of the
people,
both
[the] chief priests
and
scribes,
met together.
They led
Jesus
into
their
council
[and] said,
66
Καὶ
ὡς
ἐγένετο
ἡμέρα
συνήχθη
τὸ
πρεσβυτέριον
τοῦ
λαοῦ
ἀρχιερεῖς

καὶ
γραμματεῖς
καὶ
ἀπήγαγον
αὐτὸν
εἰς
τὸ
συνέδριον
αὐτῶν
λέγοντες
67
“If
You
are
the
Christ,
tell
us.”
[Jesus] answered,
“If
I tell
you,
you will not believe.
67
Εἰ

Χριστός

ἡμῖν
Εἶπεν
δὲ
αὐτοῖς
Ἐὰν
ὑμῖν
εἴπω
οὐ

πιστεύσητε
68
And
if
I ask [you] a question,
you will not answer.
68
ἐὰν
δὲ
ἐρωτήσω
οὐ

ἀποκριθῆτε
69
But
from
now on
the
Son
of Man
will be

at
[the] right hand
of the

of God.”

So
they all asked,
“Are
You
then
the
Son
of God?”
He replied,
“You
say
that
I
am.”

“Why
do we need
any more
testimony?”
they declared.
“We have heard [it]
for
ourselves
from
His own
lips.”
