(Matthew 19:1–12)
1 Καὶ (And) ἐκεῖθεν (from there) ἀναστὰς (having risen up) ἔρχεται (He comes) εἰς (into) τὰ (the) ὅρια (borders) τῆς (-) Ἰουδαίας (of Judea) καὶ (and) πέραν (beyond) τοῦ (the) Ἰορδάνου (Jordan), καὶ (And) συμπορεύονται (come together) πάλιν (again) ὄχλοι (crowds) πρὸς (to) αὐτόν (Him), καὶ (and) ὡς (as) εἰώθει (He had been accustomed) πάλιν (again) ἐδίδασκεν (He was teaching) αὐτούς (them).
2 Καὶ (And) προσελθόντες (having come) Φαρισαῖοι (the Pharisees) ἐπηρώτων (were questioning) αὐτὸν (Him) εἰ (whether) ἔξεστιν (it is lawful) ἀνδρὶ (for a husband) γυναῖκα (a wife) ἀπολῦσαι (to send away), πειράζοντες (testing) αὐτόν (Him).
3 Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering) εἶπεν (He said) αὐτοῖς (to them)· Τί (What) ὑμῖν (you⁺) ἐνετείλατο (commanded) Μωϋσῆς (Moses)?
4 Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπαν (they said)· Ἐπέτρεψεν (Allowed) Μωϋσῆς (Moses us) βιβλίον (a roll) ἀποστασίου (of divorce) γράψαι (to write) καὶ (and) ἀπολῦσαι (to send her away).
5 Ὁ (-) δὲ (But) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (said) αὐτοῖς (to them)· Πρὸς (For) τὴν (the) σκληροκαρδίαν (hardness of heart) ὑμῶν (of you⁺) ἔγραψεν (he wrote) ὑμῖν (for you⁺) τὴν (the) ἐντολὴν (commandment) ταύτην (this).
6 ἀπὸ (From) δὲ (however) ἀρχῆς (the beginning) κτίσεως (of creation)· Ἄρσεν (Male) καὶ (and) θῆλυ (female) ἐποίησεν (He made) αὐτούς (them)·
7 Ἕνεκεν (On account of) τούτου (this) καταλείψει (will leave) ἄνθρωπος (a man) τὸν (the) πατέρα (father) αὐτοῦ (of him) καὶ (and) τὴν (-) μητέρα (mother) καὶ (and) προσκολληθήσεται (be joined) πρὸς (to) τὴν (-) γυναῖκα (wife) αὐτοῦ (his),
8 καὶ (and) ἔσονται (will be) οἱ (the) δύο (two) εἰς (for) σάρκα (flesh) μίαν (one)· ὥστε (so that) οὐκέτι (no longer) εἰσὶν (they are) δύο (two) ἀλλὰ (but) μία (one) σάρξ (flesh).
9 ὃ (What) οὖν (therefore) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) συνέζευξεν (has yoked together), ἄνθρωπος (man) μὴ (not) χωριζέτω (let separate).
10 Καὶ (And) εἰς (in) τὴν (the) οἰκίαν (house) πάλιν (again) οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) περὶ (about) τούτου (this) ἐπηρώτων (were questioning) αὐτόν (Him).
11 καὶ (And) λέγει (He says) αὐτοῖς (to them)· Ὃς (Whoever) ἂν (-) ἀπολύσῃ (shall send away) τὴν (the) γυναῖκα (wife) αὐτοῦ (of him) καὶ (and) γαμήσῃ (shall marry) ἄλλην (another), μοιχᾶται (commits adultery) ἐπ’ (against) αὐτήν (her)·
12 καὶ (And) ἐὰν (if) αὐτὴ (a woman) ἀπολύσασα (having divorced) τὸν (the) ἄνδρα (husband) αὐτῆς (of her) γαμήσῃ (shall marry) ἄλλον (another), μοιχᾶται (she commits adultery).

13 Καὶ (And) προσέφερον (they were bringing) αὐτῷ (to Him) παιδία (little children) ἵνα (so that) αὐτῶν (them) ἅψηται (He might touch)· οἱ (-) δὲ (but) μαθηταὶ (the disciples) ἐπετίμησαν (rebuked) αὐτοῖς (them).
14 Ἰδὼν (Having seen) δὲ (now) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ἠγανάκτησεν (was indignant) καὶ (and) εἶπεν (said) αὐτοῖς (to them)· Ἄφετε (Permit) τὰ (the) παιδία (little children) ἔρχεσθαι (to come) πρός (to) με (Me), μὴ (not) κωλύετε (forbid) αὐτά (them)· τῶν (Of) γὰρ (for) τοιούτων (such) ἐστὶν (is) ἡ (the) βασιλεία (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).
15 ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you⁺), ὃς (whoever) ἂν (-) μὴ (not) δέξηται (shall receive) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ὡς (as) παιδίον (a little child), οὐ (no) μὴ (not) εἰσέλθῃ (shall enter) εἰς (into) αὐτήν (it).
16 καὶ (And) ἐναγκαλισάμενος (having taken them in His arms) αὐτὰ (them) κατευλόγει (He was blessing) τιθεὶς (having laid) τὰς (the) χεῖρας (hands) ἐπ’ (on) αὐτά (them).

17 Καὶ (And) ἐκπορευομένου (going forth) αὐτοῦ (of Him) εἰς (into) ὁδὸν (the way) προσδραμὼν (having run up) εἷς (one) καὶ (and) γονυπετήσας (having knelt down to) αὐτὸν (Him) ἐπηρώτα (was questioning) αὐτόν (Him)· Διδάσκαλε (Teacher) ἀγαθέ (good), τί (what) ποιήσω (shall I do) ἵνα (so that) ζωὴν (life) αἰώνιον (eternal) κληρονομήσω (I may inherit)?
18 Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (said) αὐτῷ (to him)· Τί (Why) με (Me) λέγεις (do you call) ἀγαθόν (good)? οὐδεὶς (No one is) ἀγαθὸς (good) εἰ (if) μὴ (not) εἷς (one) ὁ (-) Θεός (God).
19 τὰς (The) ἐντολὰς (commandments) οἶδας (you know)· Μὴ (Not) φονεύσῃς (shall you murder), Μὴ (not) μοιχεύσῃς (shall you commit adultery), Μὴ (not) κλέψῃς (shall you steal), Μὴ (not) ψευδομαρτυρήσῃς (shall you bear false witness), Μὴ (not) ἀποστερήσῃς (shall you defraud), Τίμα (honor) τὸν (the) πατέρα (father) σου (of you) καὶ (and) τὴν (the) μητέρα (mother).
20 Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) ἔφη (he was saying) αὐτῷ (to Him)· Διδάσκαλε (Teacher), ταῦτα (these) πάντα (all) ἐφυλαξάμην (I kept) ἐκ (from) νεότητός (the youth) μου (of me).
21 Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ἐμβλέψας (having looked on) αὐτῷ (him) ἠγάπησεν (loved) αὐτὸν (him) καὶ (and) εἶπεν (said) αὐτῷ (to him)· Ἕν (One thing) σε (to you) ὑστερεῖ (is lacking)· ὕπαγε (Go), ὅσα (as much as) ἔχεις (you have) πώλησον (sell) καὶ (and) δὸς (give) τοῖς (to the) πτωχοῖς (poor), καὶ (and) ἕξεις (you will have) θησαυρὸν (treasure) ἐν (in) οὐρανῷ (heaven), καὶ (and) δεῦρο (come) ἀκολούθει (follow) μοι (Me).
22 Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) στυγνάσας (having been sad) ἐπὶ (at) τῷ (the) λόγῳ (word) ἀπῆλθεν (he went away) λυπούμενος (grieving), ἦν (he was one) γὰρ (for) ἔχων (having) κτήματα (possessions) πολλά (many).
23 Καὶ (And) περιβλεψάμενος (having looked around) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) λέγει (says) τοῖς (to the) μαθηταῖς (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him)· Πῶς (How) δυσκόλως (difficultly) οἱ (those) τὰ (-) χρήματα (riches) ἔχοντες (having) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) εἰσελεύσονται (will enter).
24 οἱ (-) δὲ (And) μαθηταὶ (the disciples) ἐθαμβοῦντο (were astonished) ἐπὶ (at) τοῖς (the) λόγοις (words) αὐτοῦ (of Him).
ὁ (-) δὲ (But) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) πάλιν (again) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering) λέγει (says) αὐτοῖς (to them)· Τέκνα (Children), πῶς (how) δύσκολόν (difficult) ἐστιν (it is) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) εἰσελθεῖν (to enter)·
25 εὐκοπώτερόν (Easier) ἐστιν (it is) κάμηλον (for a camel) διὰ (through) τῆς (the) τρυμαλιᾶς (eye) τῆς (of the) ῥαφίδος (needle) διελθεῖν (to pass) ἢ (than for) πλούσιον (a rich man) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) εἰσελθεῖν (to enter).
26 Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) περισσῶς (exceedingly) ἐξεπλήσσοντο (they were astonished) λέγοντες (saying) πρὸς (among) ἑαυτούς (themselves)· Καὶ (And) τίς (who) δύναται (is able) σωθῆναι (to be saved)?
27 Ἐμβλέψας (Having looked on) αὐτοῖς (them) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) λέγει (says)· Παρὰ (With) ἀνθρώποις (men) ἀδύνατον (it is impossible), ἀλλ’ (but) οὐ (not) παρὰ (with) θεῷ (God)· πάντα (all things) γὰρ (for) δυνατὰ (are possible) παρὰ (with) τῷ (-) θεῷ (God).
28 Ἤρξατο (Began) λέγειν (to say) ὁ (-) Πέτρος (Peter) αὐτῷ (to Him)· Ἰδοὺ (Behold) ἡμεῖς (we) ἀφήκαμεν (left) πάντα (all) καὶ (and) ἠκολουθήκαμέν (followed) σοι (You).
29 Ἔφη (Was saying) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus)· Ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you⁺), οὐδείς (no one) ἐστιν (there is) ὃς (who) ἀφῆκεν (left) οἰκίαν (house) ἢ (or) ἀδελφοὺς (brothers) ἢ (or) ἀδελφὰς (sisters) ἢ (or) μητέρα (mother) ἢ (or) πατέρα (father) ἢ (or) τέκνα (children) ἢ (or) ἀγροὺς (fields) ἕνεκεν (for the sake) ἐμοῦ (of Me) καὶ (and) ἕνεκεν (for the sake) τοῦ (of the) εὐαγγελίου (gospel),
30 ἐὰν (if) μὴ (not) λάβῃ (shall receive) ἑκατονταπλασίονα (a hundredfold) νῦν (now) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) καιρῷ (time) τούτῳ (this) οἰκίας (houses) καὶ (and) ἀδελφοὺς (brothers) καὶ (and) ἀδελφὰς (sisters) καὶ (and) μητέρας (mothers) καὶ (and) τέκνα (children) καὶ (and) ἀγροὺς (fields) μετὰ (with) διωγμῶν (persecutions), καὶ (and) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) αἰῶνι (age) τῷ (that) ἐρχομένῳ (is coming) ζωὴν (life) αἰώνιον (eternal).
31 πολλοὶ (Many) δὲ (however) ἔσονται (will be) πρῶτοι (first) ἔσχατοι (last) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἔσχατοι (last) πρῶτοι (first).

34 καὶ (And) ἐμπαίξουσιν (they will mock) αὐτῷ (Him) καὶ (and) ἐμπτύσουσιν (will spit upon) αὐτῷ (Him) καὶ (and) μαστιγώσουσιν (will flog) αὐτὸν (Him) καὶ (and) ἀποκτενοῦσιν (will kill Him), καὶ (and) μετὰ (after) τρεῖς (three) ἡμέρας (days) ἀναστήσεται (He will rise again).

48 Καὶ (And) ἐπετίμων (were rebuking) αὐτῷ (him) πολλοὶ (many) ἵνα (that) σιωπήσῃ (he should be silent)· ὁ (-) δὲ (but) πολλῷ (much) μᾶλλον (more) ἔκραζεν (he was crying out)· Υἱὲ (Son) Δαυίδ (of David), ἐλέησόν (have mercy on) με (me).
49 Καὶ (And) στὰς (having stood) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (said) Φωνήσατε (Call) αὐτόν (him). Καὶ (And) φωνοῦσιν (they call) τὸν (the) τυφλὸν (blind man) λέγοντες (saying) αὐτῷ (to him)· Θάρσει (Take courage), ἔγειρε (Rise up), φωνεῖ (He calls) σε (you).
50 Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) ἀποβαλὼν (having cast away) τὸ (the) ἱμάτιον (cloak) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἀναπηδήσας (having leaped up) ἦλθεν (he came) πρὸς (to) τὸν (-) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus).
51 Καὶ (And) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering) αὐτῷ (him) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (says)· Τί (What) σοι (for you) θέλεις (do you desire that) ποιήσω (I may do)?
Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) τυφλὸς (the blind man) εἶπεν (said) αὐτῷ (to Him)· Ραββουνι (Rabboni), ἵνα (that) ἀναβλέψω (I may receive sight).
