[ALEPH] Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord. Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the LORD! Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD.
Blessed are they who search his testimonies: that seek him with their whole heart. Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart—
For they that work iniquity, have not walked in his ways. who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways! they do no wrong but follow his ways.
Thou hast commanded thy commandments to be kept most diligently. You have commanded your precepts to be kept diligently. You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed.
O! that my ways may be directed to keep thy justifications. Oh that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statutes! Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!
Then shall I not be confounded, when I shall look into all thy commandments. Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments. Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands.
I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned the judgments of thy justice. I will praise you with an upright heart, when I learn your righteous rules. I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.
I will keep thy justifications: O! do not thou utterly forsake me. I will keep your statutes; do not utterly forsake me! I will obey your decrees; do not utterly forsake me.
[BETH] By what doth a young man correct his way? by observing thy words. How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.
With my whole heart have I sought after thee: let me not stray from thy commandments. With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.
Thy words have I hidden in my heart, that I may not sin against thee. I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy justifications. Blessed are you, O LORD; teach me your statutes! Praise be to you, LORD; teach me your decrees.
With my lips I have pronounced all the judgments of thy mouth. With my lips I declare all the rules of your mouth. With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth.
I have been delighted in the way of thy testimonies, as in all riches. In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches. I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.
I will meditate on thy commandments: and I will consider thy ways. I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways. I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.
I will think of thy justifications: I will not forget thy words. I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.
[GIMEL] Give bountifully to thy servant, enliven me: and I shall keep thy words. Deal bountifully with your servant, that I may live and keep your word. Be good to your servant while I live, that I may obey your word.
Open thou my eyes: and I will consider the wondrous things of thy law. Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law. Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.
I am a sojourner on the earth: hide not thy commandments from me. I am a sojourner on the earth; hide not your commandments from me! I am a stranger on earth; do not hide your commands from me.
My soul hath coveted to long for thy justifications, at all times. My soul is consumed with longing for your rules at all times. My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times.
Thou hast rebuked the proud: they are cursed who decline from thy commandments. You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones, who wander from your commandments. You rebuke the arrogant, who are accursed, those who stray from your commands.
Remove from reproach and contempt: because I have sought after thy testimonies. Take away from me scorn and contempt, for I have kept your testimonies. Remove from me their scorn and contempt, for I keep your statutes.
For princes sat, and spoke against me: but thy servant was employed in thy justifications. Even though princes sit plotting against me, your servant will meditate on your statutes. Though rulers sit together and slander me, your servant will meditate on your decrees.
For thy testimonies are my meditation: and thy justifications my counsel. Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors. Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors.
[DALETH] My soul hath cleaved to the pavement: quicken thou me according to thy word. My soul clings to the dust; give me life according to your word! I am laid low in the dust; preserve my life according to your word.
I have declared my ways, and thou hast heard me: tech me thy justifications. When I told of my ways, you answered me; teach me your statutes! I gave an account of my ways and you answered me; teach me your decrees.
Make me to understand the way of thy justifications: and I shall be exercised in thy wondrous works. Make me understand the way of your precepts, and I will meditate on your wondrous works. Cause me to understand the way of your precepts, that I may meditate on your wonderful deeds.
My soul hath slumbered through heaviness: strengthen thou me in thy words. My soul melts away for sorrow; strengthen me according to your word! My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.
Remove from me the way of iniquity: and out of thy law have mercy on me. Put false ways far from me and graciously teach me your law! Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me and teach me your law.
I have chosen the way of truth: thy judgments I have not forgotten. I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set your rules before me. I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws.
I have stuck to thy testimonies, O Lord: put me not to shame. I cling to your testimonies, O LORD; let me not be put to shame! I hold fast to your statutes, LORD; do not let me be put to shame.
I have run the way of thy commandments, when thou didst enlarge my heart. I will run in the way of your commandments when you enlarge my heart! I run in the path of your commands, for you have broadened my understanding.
[HE] Set before me for a law the way of thy justifications, O Lord: and I will always seek after it. Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end. Teach me, LORD, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end.
Give me understanding, and I will search thy law ; and I will keep it with my whole heart. Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart. Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart.
Lead me into the path of thy commandments; for this same I have desired. Lead me in the path of your commandments, for I delight in it. Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.
Incline my heart into thy testimonies and not to covetousness. Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.
Turn away my eyes that they may not behold vanity: quicken me in thy way. Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways. Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.
Establish thy word to thy servant, in thy fear. Confirm to your servant your promise, that you may be feared. Fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared.
Turn away my reproach, which I have apprehended: for thy judgments are delightful. Turn away the reproach that I dread, for your rules are good. Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good.
Behold I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy justice. Behold, I long for your precepts; in your righteousness give me life! How I long for your precepts! In your righteousness preserve my life.
[VAU] Let thy mercy also come upon me, O Lord: thy salvation according to thy word. Let your steadfast love come to me, O LORD, your salvation according to your promise; May your unfailing love come to me, LORD, your salvation, according to your promise;
So shall I answer them that reproach me in any thing; that I have trusted in thy words. then shall I have an answer for him who taunts me, for I trust in your word. then I can answer anyone who taunts me, for I trust in your word.
And take not thou the word of truth utterly out of my mouth: for in thy words have I hoped exceedingly. And take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for my hope is in your rules. Never take your word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws.
So shall I always keep thy law, for ever and ever. I will keep your law continually, forever and ever, I will always obey your law, for ever and ever.
And I walked at large: because I have sought after thy commandments. and I shall walk in a wide place, for I have sought your precepts. I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.
And I spoke of thy testimonies before kings: and I was not ashamed. I will also speak of your testimonies before kings and shall not be put to shame, I will speak of your statutes before kings and will not be put to shame,
I meditated also on thy commandments, which I loved. for I find my delight in your commandments, which I love. for I delight in your commands because I love them.
And I lifted up my hands to thy commandments, which I loved: and I was exercised in thy justifications. I will lift up my hands toward your commandments, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes. I reach out for your commands, which I love, that I may meditate on your decrees.
[ZAIN] Be thou mindful of thy word to thy servant, in which thou hast given me hope. Remember your word to your servant, in which you have made me hope. Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope.
This hath comforted me in my humiliation: because thy word hath enlivened me. This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.
The proud did iniquitously altogether: but I declined not from thy law. The insolent utterly deride me, but I do not turn away from your law. The arrogant mock me unmercifully, but I do not turn from your law.
I remembered, O Lord, thy judgments of old: and I was comforted. When I think of your rules from of old, I take comfort, O LORD. I remember, LORD, your ancient laws, and I find comfort in them.
A fainting hath taken hold of me, because of the wicked that forsake thy law. Hot indignation seizes me because of the wicked, who forsake your law. Indignation grips me because of the wicked, who have forsaken your law.
Thy justifications were the subject of my song, in the place of my pilgrimage. Your statutes have been my songs in the house of my sojourning. Your decrees are the theme of my song wherever I lodge.
In the night I have remembered thy name, O Lord: and have kept thy law. I remember your name in the night, O LORD, and keep your law. In the night, LORD, I remember your name, that I may keep your law.
This happened to me: because I sought after thy justifications. This blessing has fallen to me, that I have kept your precepts. This has been my practice: I obey your precepts.
[HETH] O Lord, my portion, I have said, I would keep the law. The LORD is my portion; I promise to keep your words. You are my portion, LORD; I have promised to obey your words.
I entreated thy face with all my heart: have mercy on me according to thy word. I entreat your favor with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise. I have sought your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.
I have thought on my ways: and turned my feet unto thy testimonies. When I think on my ways, I turn my feet to your testimonies; I have considered my ways and have turned my steps to your statutes.
I am ready, and am not troubled: that I may keep thy commandments. I hasten and do not delay to keep your commandments. I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.
The cords of the wicked have encompassed me: but I have not forgotten thy law. Though the cords of the wicked ensnare me, I do not forget your law. Though the wicked bind me with ropes, I will not forget your law.
I rose at midnight to give praise to thee; for the judgments of thy justification. At midnight I rise to praise you, because of your righteous rules. At midnight I rise to give you thanks for your righteous laws.
I am a partaker with all them that fear thee, and that keep thy commandments. I am a companion of all who fear you, of those who keep your precepts. I am a friend to all who fear you, to all who follow your precepts.
The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy justifications. The earth, O LORD, is full of your steadfast love; teach me your statutes! The earth is filled with your love, LORD; teach me your decrees.
[TETH] Thou hast done well with thy servant, O Lord, according to thy word. You have dealt well with your servant, O LORD, according to your word. Do good to your servant according to your word, LORD.
Teach me goodness and discipline and knowledge; for I have believed thy commandments. Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments. Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands.
Before I was humbled I offended; therefore have I kept thy word. Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word. Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word.
Thou art good; and in thy goodness teach me thy justifications. You are good and do good; teach me your statutes. You are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees.
The iniquity of the proud hath been multiplied over me: but I will seek thy commandments with my whole heart. The insolent smear me with lies, but with my whole heart I keep your precepts; Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies, I keep your precepts with all my heart.
Their heart is curdled like milk: but I have meditated on thy law. their heart is unfeeling like fat, but I delight in your law. Their hearts are callous and unfeeling, but I delight in your law.
It is good for me that thou hast humbled me, that I may learn thy justifications. It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes. It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees.
The law of thy mouth is good to me, above thousands of gold and silver. The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces. The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.
[JOD] Thy hands have made me and formed me: give me understanding, and I will learn thy commandments. Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn your commandments. Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands.
They that fear thee shall see me, and shall be glad: because I have greatly hoped in thy words. Those who fear you shall see me and rejoice, because I have hoped in your word. May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word.
I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are equity: and in thy truth thou hast humbled me. I know, O LORD, that your rules are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me. I know, LORD, that your laws are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
O! let thy mercy be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. Let your steadfast love comfort me according to your promise to your servant. May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.
Let thy tender mercies come unto me, and I shall live: for thy law is my meditation. Let your mercy come to me, that I may live; for your law is my delight. Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight.
Let the proud be ashamed, because they have done unjustly towards me: but I will be employed in thy commandments. Let the insolent be put to shame, because they have wronged me with falsehood; as for me, I will meditate on your precepts. May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause; but I will meditate on your precepts.
Let them that fear thee turn to me and they that know thy testimonies. Let those who fear you turn to me, that they may know your testimonies. May those who fear you turn to me, those who understand your statutes.
Let my heart be undefiled in thy justifications, that I may not be confounded. May my heart be blameless in your statutes, that I may not be put to shame! May I wholeheartedly follow your decrees, that I may not be put to shame.
[CAPH] My soul hath fainted after thy salvation: and in thy word I have very much hoped. My soul longs for your salvation; I hope in your word. My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word.
My eyes have failed for thy word, saying: When wilt thou comfort me? My eyes long for your promise; I ask, “When will you comfort me?” My eyes fail, looking for your promise; I say, “When will you comfort me?”
For I am become like a bottle in the frost: I have not forgotten thy justifications. For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, yet I have not forgotten your statutes. Though I am like a wineskin in the smoke, I do not forget your decrees.
How many are the days of thy servant: when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me? How long must your servant endure? When will you judge those who persecute me? How long must your servant wait? When will you punish my persecutors?
The wicked have told me fables: but not as thy law. The insolent have dug pitfalls for me; they do not live according to your law. The arrogant dig pits to trap me, contrary to your law.
All thy statutes are truth: they have persecuted me unjustly, do thou help me. All your commandments are sure; they persecute me with falsehood; help me! All your commands are trustworthy; help me, for I am being persecuted without cause.
They had almost made an end of me upon earth: but I have not forsaken thy commandments. They have almost made an end of me on earth, but I have not forsaken your precepts. They almost wiped me from the earth, but I have not forsaken your precepts.
Quicken thou me according to thy mercy: and I shall keep the testimonies of thy mouth. In your steadfast love give me life, that I may keep the testimonies of your mouth. In your unfailing love preserve my life, that I may obey the statutes of your mouth.
[LAMED] For ever, O Lord, thy word standeth firm in heaven. Forever, O LORD, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.
Thy truth unto all generations: thou hast founded the earth, and it continueth. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures.
By thy ordinance the day goeth on: for all things serve thee. By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants. Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you.
Unless thy law had been my meditation, I had then perhaps perished in my abjection. If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
Thy justifications I will never forget: for by them thou hast given me life. I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life. I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life.
I am thine, save thou me: for I have sought thy justifications. I am yours; save me, for I have sought your precepts. Save me, for I am yours; I have sought out your precepts.
The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I have understood thy testimonies. The wicked lie in wait to destroy me, but I consider your testimonies. The wicked are waiting to destroy me, but I will ponder your statutes.
I have seen an end to all persecution: thy commandment is exceeding broad. I have seen a limit to all perfection, but your commandment is exceedingly broad. To all perfection I see a limit, but your commands are boundless.
[MEM] O how have I loved thy law, O Lord! it is my meditation all the day. Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day. Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.
Through thy commandment, thou hast made me wiser than my enemies: for it is ever with me. Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me. Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies.
I have understood more than all my teachers: because thy testimonies are my meditation. I have more understanding than all my teachers, for your testimonies are my meditation. I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes.
I have had understanding above ancients: because I have sought thy commandments. I understand more than the aged, for I keep your precepts. I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts.
I have restrained my feet from every evil way: that I may keep thy words. I hold back my feet from every evil way, in order to keep your word. I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word.
I have not declined from thy judgments, because thou hast set me a law. I do not turn aside from your rules, for you have taught me. I have not departed from your laws, for you yourself have taught me.
How sweet are thy words to my palate! more than honey to my mouth. How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
By thy commandments I have had understanding: therefore have I hated every way of iniquity. Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.
[NUN] Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my paths. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
I have sworn and am determined to keep the judgments of thy justice. I have sworn an oath and confirmed it, to keep your righteous rules. I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.
I have been humbled, O Lord, exceedingly: quicken thou me according to thy word. I am severely afflicted; give me life, O LORD, according to your word! I have suffered much; preserve my life, LORD, according to your word.
The free offerings of my mouth make acceptable, O Lord: and teach me thy judgments. Accept my freewill offerings of praise, O LORD, and teach me your rules. Accept, LORD, the willing praise of my mouth, and teach me your laws.
My soul is continually in my hands: and I have not forgotten thy law. I hold my life in my hand continually, but I do not forget your law. Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not forget your law.
Sinners have laid a snare for me: but I have not erred from thy precepts. The wicked have laid a snare for me, but I do not stray from your precepts. The wicked have set a snare for me, but I have not strayed from your precepts.
I have purchased thy testimonies for an inheritance for ever: because they are a joy to my heart. Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart. Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart.
I have inclined my heart to do thy justifications for ever, for the reward. I incline my heart to perform your statutes forever, to the end. My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end.
[SAMECH] I have hated the unjust: and have loved thy law. I hate the double-minded, but I love your law. I hate double-minded people, but I love your law.
Thou art my helper and my protector: and in thy word I have greatly hoped. You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word. You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.
Depart from me, ye malignant: and I will search the commandments of my God. Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God. Away from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commands of my God!
Uphold me according to thy word, and I shall live: and let me not be confounded in my expectation. Uphold me according to your promise, that I may live, and let me not be put to shame in my hope! Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed.
Help me, and I shall be saved: and I will meditate always on thy justifications. Hold me up, that I may be safe and have regard for your statutes continually! Uphold me, and I will be delivered; I will always have regard for your decrees.
Thou hast despised all them that fall off from thy judgments; for their thought is unjust. You spurn all who go astray from your statutes, for their cunning is in vain. You reject all who stray from your decrees, for their delusions come to nothing.
I have accounted all the sinners of the earth prevaricators: therefore have I loved thy testimonies. All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross, therefore I love your testimonies. All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross; therefore I love your statutes.
Pierce thou my flesh with thy fear: for I am afraid of thy judgments. My flesh trembles for fear of you, and I am afraid of your judgments. My flesh trembles in fear of you; I stand in awe of your laws.
[AIN] I have done judgment and justice: give me not up to them that slander me. I have done what is just and right; do not leave me to my oppressors. I have done what is righteous and just; do not leave me to my oppressors.
Uphold thy servant unto good: let not the proud calumniate me. Give your servant a pledge of good; let not the insolent oppress me. Ensure your servant’s well-being; do not let the arrogant oppress me.
My eyes have fainted after thy salvation: and for the word of thy justice. My eyes long for your salvation and for the fulfillment of your righteous promise. My eyes fail, looking for your salvation, looking for your righteous promise.
Deal with thy servant according to thy mercy: and teach me thy justifications. Deal with your servant according to your steadfast love, and teach me your statutes. Deal with your servant according to your love and teach me your decrees.
I am thy servant: give me understanding that I may know thy testimonies. I am your servant; give me understanding, that I may know your testimonies! I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes.
It is time, O Lord, to do: they have dissipated thy law. It is time for the LORD to act, for your law has been broken. It is time for you to act, LORD; your law is being broken.
Therefore have I loved thy commandments above gold and the topaz. Therefore I love your commandments above gold, above fine gold. Because I love your commands more than gold, more than pure gold,
Therefore was I directed to all thy commandments: I have hated all wicked ways. Therefore I consider all your precepts to be right; I hate every false way. and because I consider all your precepts right, I hate every wrong path.
[PHE] Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore my soul hath sought them. Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them. Your statutes are wonderful; therefore I obey them.
The declaration of thy words giveth light: and giveth understanding to little ones. The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple. The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
I opened my mouth and panted: because I longed for thy commandments. I open my mouth and pant, because I long for your commandments. I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands.
Look thou upon me, and have mercy on me, according to the judgment of them that love thy name. Turn to me and be gracious to me, as is your way with those who love your name. Turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name.
Direct my steps according to thy word: and let no iniquity have dominion over me. Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me. Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.
Redeem me from the calumnies of men: that I may keep thy commandments. Redeem me from man’s oppression, that I may keep your precepts. Redeem me from human oppression, that I may obey your precepts.
Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: and teach me thy justifications. Make your face shine upon your servant, and teach me your statutes. Make your face shine on your servant and teach me your decrees.
My eyes have sent forth springs of water: because they have not kept thy law. My eyes shed streams of tears, because people do not keep your law. Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law is not obeyed.
[SADE] Thou art just, O Lord: and thy judgment is right. Righteous are you, O LORD, and right are your rules. You are righteous, LORD, and your laws are right.
Thou hast commanded justice thy testimonies: and thy truth exceedingly. You have appointed your testimonies in righteousness and in all faithfulness. The statutes you have laid down are righteous; they are fully trustworthy.
My zeal hath made me pine away: because my enemies forgot thy words. My zeal consumes me, because my foes forget your words. My zeal wears me out, for my enemies ignore your words.
Thy word is exceedingly refined: and thy servant hath loved it. Your promise is well tried, and your servant loves it. Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them.
I am very young and despised; but I forgot not thy justifications. I am small and despised, yet I do not forget your precepts. Though I am lowly and despised, I do not forget your precepts.
Thy justice is justice for ever: and thy law is the truth. Your righteousness is righteous forever, and your law is true. Your righteousness is everlasting and your law is true.
Trouble and anguish have found me: thy commandments are my meditation. Trouble and anguish have found me out, but your commandments are my delight. Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands give me delight.
Thy testimonies are justice for ever: give me understanding, and I shall live. Your testimonies are righteous forever; give me understanding that I may live. Your statutes are always righteous; give me understanding that I may live.
[COPH] I cried with my whole heart, hear me, O Lord: I will seek thy justifications. With my whole heart I cry; answer me, O LORD! I will keep your statutes. I call with all my heart; answer me, LORD, and I will obey your decrees.
I cried unto thee, save me: that I may keep thy commandments. I call to you; save me, that I may observe your testimonies. I call out to you; save me and I will keep your statutes.
I prevented the dawning of the day, and cried: because in thy words I very much hoped. I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in your words. I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word.
My eyes to thee have prevented the morning: that I might meditate on thy words. My eyes are awake before the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promise. My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promises.
Hear thou my voice, O Lord, according to thy mercy: and quicken me according to thy mercy. Hear my voice according to your steadfast love; O LORD, according to your justice give me life. Hear my voice in accordance with your love; preserve my life, LORD, according to your laws.
They that persecute me have drawn nigh to iniquity; but they are gone far off from the law. They draw near who persecute me with evil purpose; they are far from your law. Those who devise wicked schemes are near, but they are far from your law.
Thou art near, O Lord: and all thy ways are truth. But you are near, O LORD, and all your commandments are true. Yet you are near, LORD, and all your commands are true.
I have known from the beginning concerning thy testimonies: that thou hast founded them for ever. Long have I known from your testimonies that you have founded them forever. Long ago I learned from your statutes that you established them to last forever.
[RES] See my humiliation and deliver me: for I have not forgotten the law. Look on my affliction and deliver me, for I do not forget your law. Look on my suffering and deliver me, for I have not forgotten your law.
Judge my judgment and redeem me: quicken thou me for thy word's sake. Plead my cause and redeem me; give me life according to your promise! Defend my cause and redeem me; preserve my life according to your promise.
Salvation is far from sinners; because they have not sought thy justifications. Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek your statutes. Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek out your decrees.
Many, O Lord, are thy mercies: quicken me according to thy judgment. Great is your mercy, O LORD; give me life according to your rules. Your compassion, LORD, is great; preserve my life according to your laws.
Many are they that persecute me, and afflict me; but I have not declined from thy testimonies. Many are my persecutors and my adversaries, but I do not swerve from your testimonies. Many are the foes who persecute me, but I have not turned from your statutes.
I beheld the transgressors, and I pined away; because they kept not thy word. I look at the faithless with disgust, because they do not keep your commands. I look on the faithless with loathing, for they do not obey your word.
Behold I have loved thy commandments, O Lord; quicken me thou in thy mercy. Consider how I love your precepts! Give me life according to your steadfast love. See how I love your precepts; preserve my life, LORD, in accordance with your love.
The beginning of thy words is truth: all the judgments of thy justice are for ever. The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever. All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.
[SIN] Princes have persecuted me without cause: and my heart hath been in awe of thy words. Princes persecute me without cause, but my heart stands in awe of your words. Rulers persecute me without cause, but my heart trembles at your word.
I will rejoice at thy words, as one that hath found great spoil. I rejoice at your word like one who finds great spoil. I rejoice in your promise like one who finds great spoil.
I have hated and abhorred iniquity; but I have loved thy law. I hate and abhor falsehood, but I love your law. I hate and detest falsehood but I love your law.
Seven times a day I have given praise to thee, for the judgments of thy justice. Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous rules. Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws.
Much peace have they that love thy law, and to them there is no stumbling block Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble. Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
I looked to thy salvation, O Lord: and I loved thy commandments. I hope for your salvation, O LORD, and I do your commandments. I wait for your salvation, LORD, and I follow your commands.
My soul hath kept thy testimonies: and hath loved them exceedingly. My soul keeps your testimonies; I love them exceedingly. I obey your statutes, for I love them greatly.
I have kept thy commandments and thy testimonies: because all my ways are in thy sight. I keep your precepts and testimonies, for all my ways are before you. I obey your precepts and your statutes, for all my ways are known to you.
[TAU] Let my supplication, O Lord, come near in thy sight: give me understanding according to thy word. Let my cry come before you, O LORD; give me understanding according to your word! May my cry come before you, LORD; give me understanding according to your word.
Let my request come in before thee; deliver thou me according to thy word. Let my plea come before you; deliver me according to your word. May my supplication come before you; deliver me according to your promise.
My lips shall utter a hymn, when thou shalt teach me thy justifications. My lips will pour forth praise, for you teach me your statutes. May my lips overflow with praise, for you teach me your decrees.
My tongue shall pronounce thy word: because all thy commandments are justice. My tongue will sing of your word, for all your commandments are right. May my tongue sing of your word, for all your commands are righteous.
Let thy hand be with me to save me; for I have chosen thy precepts. Let your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts. May your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.
I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my meditation. I long for your salvation, O LORD, and your law is my delight. I long for your salvation, LORD, and your law gives me delight.
My soul shall live and shall praise thee: and thy judgments shall help me. Let my soul live and praise you, and let your rules help me. Let me live that I may praise you, and may your laws sustain me.
I have gone astray like a sheep that is lost: seek thy servant, because I have not forgotten thy commandments. I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek your servant, for I do not forget your commandments. I have strayed like a lost sheep. Seek your servant, for I have not forgotten your commands.
