NLT Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New Living TranslationNew International Version
Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD.1Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD.
Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts.2Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart--
They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.3they do no wrong but follow his ways.
You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully.4You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed.
Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees!5Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees!
Then I will not be ashamed when I compare my life with your commands.6Then I would not be put to shame when I consider all your commands.
As I learn your righteous regulations, I will thank you by living as I should!7I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws.
I will obey your decrees. Please don’t give up on me! Beth8I will obey your decrees; do not utterly forsake me.
How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.9How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.
I have tried hard to find you— don’t let me wander from your commands.10I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.11I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
I praise you, O LORD; teach me your decrees.12Praise be to you, LORD; teach me your decrees.
I have recited aloud all the regulations you have given us.13With my lips I recount all the laws that come from your mouth.
I have rejoiced in your laws as much as in riches.14I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.
I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways.15I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways.
I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word. Gimel16I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.
Be good to your servant, that I may live and obey your word.17Be good to your servant while I live, that I may obey your word.
Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.18Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.
I am only a foreigner in the land. Don’t hide your commands from me!19I am a stranger on earth; do not hide your commands from me.
I am always overwhelmed with a desire for your regulations.20My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times.
You rebuke the arrogant; those who wander from your commands are cursed.21You rebuke the arrogant, who are accursed, those who stray from your commands.
Don’t let them scorn and insult me, for I have obeyed your laws.22Remove from me their scorn and contempt, for I keep your statutes.
Even princes sit and speak against me, but I will meditate on your decrees.23Though rulers sit together and slander me, your servant will meditate on your decrees.
Your laws please me; they give me wise advice. Daleth24Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors.
I lie in the dust; revive me by your word.25I am laid low in the dust; preserve my life according to your word.
I told you my plans, and you answered. Now teach me your decrees.26I gave an account of my ways and you answered me; teach me your decrees.
Help me understand the meaning of your commandments, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds.27Cause me to understand the way of your precepts, that I may meditate on your wonderful deeds.
I weep with sorrow; encourage me by your word.28My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.
Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.29Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me and teach me your law.
I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.30I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws.
I cling to your laws. LORD, don’t let me be put to shame!31I hold fast to your statutes, LORD; do not let me be put to shame.
I will pursue your commands, for you expand my understanding. He32I run in the path of your commands, for you have broadened my understanding.
Teach me your decrees, O LORD; I will keep them to the end.33Teach me, LORD, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end.
Give me understanding and I will obey your instructions; I will put them into practice with all my heart.34Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart.
Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.35Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.
Give me an eagerness for your laws rather than a love for money!36Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.
Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.37Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.
Reassure me of your promise, made to those who fear you.38Fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared.
Help me abandon my shameful ways; for your regulations are good.39Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good.
I long to obey your commandments! Renew my life with your goodness. Waw40How I long for your precepts! In your righteousness preserve my life.
LORD, give me your unfailing love, the salvation that you promised me.41May your unfailing love come to me, LORD, your salvation, according to your promise;
Then I can answer those who taunt me, for I trust in your word.42then I can answer anyone who taunts me, for I trust in your word.
Do not snatch your word of truth from me, for your regulations are my only hope.43Never take your word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws.
I will keep on obeying your instructions forever and ever.44I will always obey your law, for ever and ever.
I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.45I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.
I will speak to kings about your laws, and I will not be ashamed.46I will speak of your statutes before kings and will not be put to shame,
How I delight in your commands! How I love them!47for I delight in your commands because I love them.
I honor and love your commands. I meditate on your decrees. Zayin48I reach out for your commands, which I love, that I may meditate on your decrees.
Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope.49Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope.
Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles.50My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.
The proud hold me in utter contempt, but I do not turn away from your instructions.51The arrogant mock me unmercifully, but I do not turn from your law.
I meditate on your age-old regulations; O LORD, they comfort me.52I remember, LORD, your ancient laws, and I find comfort in them.
I become furious with the wicked, because they reject your instructions.53Indignation grips me because of the wicked, who have forsaken your law.
Your decrees have been the theme of my songs wherever I have lived.54Your decrees are the theme of my song wherever I lodge.
I reflect at night on who you are, O LORD; therefore, I obey your instructions.55In the night, LORD, I remember your name, that I may keep your law.
This is how I spend my life: obeying your commandments. Heth56This has been my practice: I obey your precepts.
LORD, you are mine! I promise to obey your words!57You are my portion, LORD; I have promised to obey your words.
With all my heart I want your blessings. Be merciful as you promised.58I have sought your face with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise.
I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow your laws.59I have considered my ways and have turned my steps to your statutes.
I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.60I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.
Evil people try to drag me into sin, but I am firmly anchored to your instructions.61Though the wicked bind me with ropes, I will not forget your law.
I rise at midnight to thank you for your just regulations.62At midnight I rise to give you thanks for your righteous laws.
I am a friend to anyone who fears you— anyone who obeys your commandments.63I am a friend to all who fear you, to all who follow your precepts.
O LORD, your unfailing love fills the earth; teach me your decrees. Teth64The earth is filled with your love, LORD; teach me your decrees.
You have done many good things for me, LORD, just as you promised.65Do good to your servant according to your word, LORD.
I believe in your commands; now teach me good judgment and knowledge.66Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands.
I used to wander off until you disciplined me; but now I closely follow your word.67Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word.
You are good and do only good; teach me your decrees.68You are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees.
Arrogant people smear me with lies, but in truth I obey your commandments with all my heart.69Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies, I keep your precepts with all my heart.
Their hearts are dull and stupid, but I delight in your instructions.70Their hearts are callous and unfeeling, but I delight in your law.
My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.71It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees.
Your instructions are more valuable to me than millions in gold and silver. Yodh72The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.
You made me; you created me. Now give me the sense to follow your commands.73Your hands made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands.
May all who fear you find in me a cause for joy, for I have put my hope in your word.74May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word.
I know, O LORD, that your regulations are fair; you disciplined me because I needed it.75I know, LORD, that your laws are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
Now let your unfailing love comfort me, just as you promised me, your servant.76May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.
Surround me with your tender mercies so I may live, for your instructions are my delight.77Let your compassion come to me that I may live, for your law is my delight.
Bring disgrace upon the arrogant people who lied about me; meanwhile, I will concentrate on your commandments.78May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause; but I will meditate on your precepts.
Let me be united with all who fear you, with those who know your laws.79May those who fear you turn to me, those who understand your statutes.
May I be blameless in keeping your decrees; then I will never be ashamed. Kaph80May I wholeheartedly follow your decrees, that I may not be put to shame.
I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word.81My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word.
My eyes are straining to see your promises come true. When will you comfort me?82My eyes fail, looking for your promise; I say, "When will you comfort me?"
I am shriveled like a wineskin in the smoke, but I have not forgotten to obey your decrees.83Though I am like a wineskin in the smoke, I do not forget your decrees.
How long must I wait? When will you punish those who persecute me?84How long must your servant wait? When will you punish my persecutors?
These arrogant people who hate your instructions have dug deep pits to trap me.85The arrogant dig pits to trap me, contrary to your law.
All your commands are trustworthy. Protect me from those who hunt me down without cause.86All your commands are trustworthy; help me, for I am being persecuted without cause.
They almost finished me off, but I refused to abandon your commandments.87They almost wiped me from the earth, but I have not forsaken your precepts.
In your unfailing love, spare my life; then I can continue to obey your laws. Lamedh88In your unfailing love preserve my life, that I may obey the statutes of your mouth.
Your eternal word, O LORD, stands firm in heaven.89Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.
Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth you created.90Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures.
Your regulations remain true to this day, for everything serves your plans.91Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you.
If your instructions hadn’t sustained me with joy, I would have died in my misery.92If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life.93I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life.
I am yours; rescue me! For I have worked hard at obeying your commandments.94Save me, for I am yours; I have sought out your precepts.
Though the wicked hide along the way to kill me, I will quietly keep my mind on your laws.95The wicked are waiting to destroy me, but I will ponder your statutes.
Even perfection has its limits, but your commands have no limit. Mem96To all perfection I see a limit, but your commands are boundless.
Oh, how I love your instructions! I think about them all day long.97Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.
Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide.98Your commands are always with me and make me wiser than my enemies.
Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your laws.99I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes.
I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments.100I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts.
I have refused to walk on any evil path, so that I may remain obedient to your word.101I have kept my feet from every evil path so that I might obey your word.
I haven’t turned away from your regulations, for you have taught me well.102I have not departed from your laws, for you yourself have taught me.
How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.103How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
Your commandments give me understanding; no wonder I hate every false way of life. Nun104I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.105Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey your righteous regulations.106I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.
I have suffered much, O LORD; restore my life again as you promised.107I have suffered much; preserve my life, LORD, according to your word.
LORD, accept my offering of praise, and teach me your regulations.108Accept, LORD, the willing praise of my mouth, and teach me your laws.
My life constantly hangs in the balance, but I will not stop obeying your instructions.109Though I constantly take my life in my hands, I will not forget your law.
The wicked have set their traps for me, but I will not turn from your commandments.110The wicked have set a snare for me, but I have not strayed from your precepts.
Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.111Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart.
I am determined to keep your decrees to the very end. Samekh112My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end.
I hate those with divided loyalties, but I love your instructions.113I hate double-minded people, but I love your law.
You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope.114You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.
Get out of my life, you evil-minded people, for I intend to obey the commands of my God.115Away from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commands of my God!
LORD, sustain me as you promised, that I may live! Do not let my hope be crushed.116Sustain me, my God, according to your promise, and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed.
Sustain me, and I will be rescued; then I will meditate continually on your decrees.117Uphold me, and I will be delivered; I will always have regard for your decrees.
But you have rejected all who stray from your decrees. They are only fooling themselves.118You reject all who stray from your decrees, for their delusions come to nothing.
You skim off the wicked of the earth like scum; no wonder I love to obey your laws!119All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross; therefore I love your statutes.
I tremble in fear of you; I stand in awe of your regulations. Ayin120My flesh trembles in fear of you; I stand in awe of your laws.
Don’t leave me to the mercy of my enemies, for I have done what is just and right.121I have done what is righteous and just; do not leave me to my oppressors.
Please guarantee a blessing for me. Don’t let the arrogant oppress me!122Ensure your servant's well-being; do not let the arrogant oppress me.
My eyes strain to see your rescue, to see the truth of your promise fulfilled.123My eyes fail, looking for your salvation, looking for your righteous promise.
I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love, and teach me your decrees.124Deal with your servant according to your love and teach me your decrees.
Give discernment to me, your servant; then I will understand your laws.125I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes.
LORD, it is time for you to act, for these evil people have violated your instructions.126It is time for you to act, LORD; your law is being broken.
Truly, I love your commands more than gold, even the finest gold.127Because I love your commands more than gold, more than pure gold,
Each of your commandments is right. That is why I hate every false way. Pe128and because I consider all your precepts right, I hate every wrong path.
Your laws are wonderful. No wonder I obey them!129Your statutes are wonderful; therefore I obey them.
The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.130The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
I pant with expectation, longing for your commands.131I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands.
Come and show me your mercy, as you do for all who love your name.132Turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name.
Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.133Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.
Ransom me from the oppression of evil people; then I can obey your commandments.134Redeem me from human oppression, that I may obey your precepts.
Look upon me with love; teach me your decrees.135Make your face shine on your servant and teach me your decrees.
Rivers of tears gush from my eyes because people disobey your instructions. Tsadhe136Streams of tears flow from my eyes, for your law is not obeyed.
O LORD, you are righteous, and your regulations are fair.137You are righteous, LORD, and your laws are right.
Your laws are perfect and completely trustworthy.138The statutes you have laid down are righteous; they are fully trustworthy.
I am overwhelmed with indignation, for my enemies have disregarded your words.139My zeal wears me out, for my enemies ignore your words.
Your promises have been thoroughly tested; that is why I love them so much.140Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and your servant loves them.
I am insignificant and despised, but I don’t forget your commandments.141Though I am lowly and despised, I do not forget your precepts.
Your justice is eternal, and your instructions are perfectly true.142Your righteousness is everlasting and your law is true.
As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.143Trouble and distress have come upon me, but your commands give me delight.
Your laws are always right; help me to understand them so I may live. Qoph144Your statutes are always righteous; give me understanding that I may live.
I pray with all my heart; answer me, LORD! I will obey your decrees.145I call with all my heart; answer me, LORD, and I will obey your decrees.
I cry out to you; rescue me, that I may obey your laws.146I call out to you; save me and I will keep your statutes.
I rise early, before the sun is up; I cry out for help and put my hope in your words.147I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word.
I stay awake through the night, thinking about your promise.148My eyes stay open through the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promises.
In your faithful love, O LORD, hear my cry; let me be revived by following your regulations.149Hear my voice in accordance with your love; preserve my life, LORD, according to your laws.
Lawless people are coming to attack me; they live far from your instructions.150Those who devise wicked schemes are near, but they are far from your law.
But you are near, O LORD, and all your commands are true.151Yet you are near, LORD, and all your commands are true.
I have known from my earliest days that your laws will last forever. Resh152Long ago I learned from your statutes that you established them to last forever.
Look upon my suffering and rescue me, for I have not forgotten your instructions.153Look on my suffering and deliver me, for I have not forgotten your law.
Argue my case; take my side! Protect my life as you promised.154Defend my cause and redeem me; preserve my life according to your promise.
The wicked are far from rescue, for they do not bother with your decrees.155Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek out your decrees.
LORD, how great is your mercy; let me be revived by following your regulations.156Your compassion, LORD, is great; preserve my life according to your laws.
Many persecute and trouble me, yet I have not swerved from your laws.157Many are the foes who persecute me, but I have not turned from your statutes.
Seeing these traitors makes me sick at heart, because they care nothing for your word.158I look on the faithless with loathing, for they do not obey your word.
See how I love your commandments, LORD. Give back my life because of your unfailing love.159See how I love your precepts; preserve my life, LORD, in accordance with your love.
The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever. Shin160All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.
Powerful people harass me without cause, but my heart trembles only at your word.161Rulers persecute me without cause, but my heart trembles at your word.
I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure.162I rejoice in your promise like one who finds great spoil.
I hate and abhor all falsehood, but I love your instructions.163I hate and detest falsehood but I love your law.
I will praise you seven times a day because all your regulations are just.164Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws.
Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.165Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.
I long for your rescue, LORD, so I have obeyed your commands.166I wait for your salvation, LORD, and I follow your commands.
I have obeyed your laws, for I love them very much.167I obey your statutes, for I love them greatly.
Yes, I obey your commandments and laws because you know everything I do. Taw168I obey your precepts and your statutes, for all my ways are known to you.
O LORD, listen to my cry; give me the discerning mind you promised.169May my cry come before you, LORD; give me understanding according to your word.
Listen to my prayer; rescue me as you promised.170May my supplication come before you; deliver me according to your promise.
Let praise flow from my lips, for you have taught me your decrees.171May my lips overflow with praise, for you teach me your decrees.
Let my tongue sing about your word, for all your commands are right.172May my tongue sing of your word, for all your commands are righteous.
Give me a helping hand, for I have chosen to follow your commandments.173May your hand be ready to help me, for I have chosen your precepts.
O LORD, I have longed for your rescue, and your instructions are my delight.174I long for your salvation, LORD, and your law gives me delight.
Let me live so I can praise you, and may your regulations help me.175Let me live that I may praise you, and may your laws sustain me.
I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come and find me, for I have not forgotten your commands.176I have strayed like a lost sheep. Seek your servant, for I have not forgotten your commands.
