| 18 | Καὶ εἶπεν Ζαχαρίας πρὸς τὸν ἄγγελον Κατὰ τί γνώσομαι τοῦτο ἐγὼ γάρ εἰμι πρεσβύτης καὶ ἡ γυνή μου προβεβηκυῖα ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτῆς | And Zechariah said to the angel, “How shall I know this? | 20 | καὶ ἰδοὺ ἔσῃ σιωπῶν καὶ μὴ δυνάμενος λαλῆσαι ἄχρι ἧς ἡμέρας γένηται ταῦτα ἀνθ’ ὧν οὐκ ἐπίστευσας τοῖς λόγοις μου οἵτινες πληρωθήσονται εἰς τὸν καιρὸν αὐτῶν | And behold, you will be silent and unable to speak until the day that these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time.” | And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.” | |
| 21 | Καὶ ἦν ὁ λαὸς προσδοκῶν τὸν Ζαχαρίαν καὶ ἐθαύμαζον ἐν τῷ χρονίζειν ἐν τῷ ναῷ αὐτόν | And the people were waiting for Zechariah, and they were wondering at his delay in the temple. | Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he stayed so long in the temple. | |

| 37 | ὅτι οὐκ ἀδυνατήσει παρὰ τοῦ Θεοῦ πᾶν ῥῆμα | For nothing will be impossible with God.” | For no word from God will ever fail.” | |

| 45 | καὶ μακαρία ἡ πιστεύσασα ὅτι ἔσται τελείωσις τοῖς λελαλημένοις αὐτῇ παρὰ Κυρίου | And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.” | Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” | |

| 66 | καὶ ἔθεντο πάντες οἱ ἀκούσαντες ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτῶν λέγοντες Τί ἄρα τὸ παιδίον τοῦτο ἔσται καὶ γὰρ χεὶρ Κυρίου ἦν μετ’ αὐτοῦ | and all who heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, “What then will this child be?” For the hand of the Lord was with him. | Everyone who heard this wondered about it, asking, “What then is this child going to be?” For the Lord’s hand was with him. | |

| 72 | ποιῆσαι ἔλεος μετὰ τῶν πατέρων ἡμῶν καὶ μνησθῆναι διαθήκης ἁγίας αὐτοῦ | to show the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant, | to show mercy to our ancestors and to remember his holy covenant, | |
| 73 | ὅρκον ὃν ὤμοσεν πρὸς Ἀβραὰμ τὸν πατέρα ἡμῶν τοῦ δοῦναι ἡμῖν | the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us | the oath he swore to our father Abraham: | |
| 74 | ἀφόβως ἐκ χειρὸς ἐχθρῶν ῥυσθέντας λατρεύειν αὐτῷ | that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, | to rescue us from the hand of our enemies, and to enable us to serve him without fear | |
| 75 | ἐν ὁσιότητι καὶ δικαιοσύνῃ ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ πάσαις ταῖς ἡμέραις ἡμῶν | in holiness and righteousness before him all our days. | in holiness and righteousness before him all our days. | |

| 78 | διὰ σπλάγχνα ἐλέους Θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἐν οἷς ἐπισκέψεται ἡμᾶς ἀνατολὴ ἐξ ὕψους | because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high | because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven | |
| 79 | ἐπιφᾶναι τοῖς ἐν σκότει καὶ σκιᾷ θανάτου καθημένοις τοῦ κατευθῦναι τοὺς πόδας ἡμῶν εἰς ὁδὸν εἰρήνης | to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” | to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.” | |
