Berean Interlinear Bible Jesus Delivered to Pilate 1Πρωΐας (Morning) δὲ (then) γενομένης (having arrived), συμβούλιον (counsel) ἔλαβον (took) πάντες (all) οἱ (the) ἀρχιερεῖς (chief priests) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) πρεσβύτεροι (elders) τοῦ (of the) λαοῦ (people) κατὰ (against) τοῦ (-) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus), ὥστε (so that) θανατῶσαι (they might put to death) αὐτόν (him). 2καὶ (And) δήσαντες (having bound) αὐτὸν (Him), ἀπήγαγον (they led away Him) καὶ (and) παρέδωκαν (delivered Him to) Πιλάτῳ (Pilate), τῷ (the) ἡγεμόνι (governor). Judas Hangs Himself 3Τότε (Then) ἰδὼν (having seen) Ἰούδας (Judas), ὁ (the one) παραδιδοὺς* (having delivered up) αὐτὸν (Him), ὅτι (that) κατεκρίθη (He was condemned), μεταμεληθεὶς (having regretted it), ἔστρεψεν (he returned) τὰ (the) τριάκοντα (thirty) ἀργύρια (pieces of silver) τοῖς (to the) ἀρχιερεῦσιν (chief priests) καὶ (and) πρεσβυτέροις (elders), 4λέγων (saying), “Ἥμαρτον (I sinned), παραδοὺς (having betrayed) αἷμα (blood) ἀθῷον (innocent).” Οἱ (-) δὲ (Then) εἶπαν (they said), “Τί (What is that) πρὸς (to) ἡμᾶς (us)? σὺ (You) ὄψῃ (will see).” 5Καὶ (And) ῥίψας (having cast down) τὰ (the) ἀργύρια (pieces of silver) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) ναὸν (temple), ἀνεχώρησεν (he withdrew), καὶ (and) ἀπελθὼν (having gone away), ἀπήγξατο (hanged himself). 6Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) ἀρχιερεῖς (the chief priests), λαβόντες (having taken) τὰ (the) ἀργύρια (pieces of silver), εἶπαν (said), “Οὐκ (Not) ἔξεστιν (it is lawful) βαλεῖν (to put) αὐτὰ (them) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κορβανᾶν (treasury), ἐπεὶ (since the) τιμὴ (price) αἵματός (of blood) ἐστιν (it is).” 7συμβούλιον (Counsel) δὲ (then) λαβόντες (having taken), ἠγόρασαν (they bought) ἐξ (with) αὐτῶν (them) τὸν (the) ἀγρὸν (field) τοῦ (of the) κεραμέως (potter), εἰς (for) ταφὴν (a burial place) τοῖς (for the) ξένοις (strangers). 8διὸ (Therefore) ἐκλήθη (was called) ὁ (the) ἀγρὸς (field) ἐκεῖνος (that), Ἀγρὸς (Field) αἵματος (of Blood), ἕως (to) τῆς (-) σήμερον (this day). 9τότε (Then) ἐπληρώθη (was fulfilled) τὸ (that) ῥηθὲν (having been spoken) διὰ (by) Ἰερεμίου (Jeremiah) τοῦ (the) προφήτου (prophet), λέγοντος (saying), “Καὶ (And) ἔλαβον (they took) τὰ (the) τριάκοντα (thirty) ἀργύρια (pieces of silver), τὴν (the) τιμὴν (price) τοῦ (of the One) τετιμημένου (having been priced), ὃν (whom) ἐτιμήσαντο (they set a price on) ἀπὸ (by the) υἱῶν (sons) Ἰσραήλ (of Israel), 10καὶ (and) ἔδωκαν (they gave) αὐτὰ (them) εἰς (for) τὸν (the) ἀγρὸν (field) τοῦ (of the) κεραμέως (potter), καθὰ (as) συνέταξέν (directed) μοι (me) Κύριος (the Lord).”a Jesus Before Pilate 11Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ἐστάθη (stood) ἔμπροσθεν (before) τοῦ (the) ἡγεμόνος (governor); καὶ (and) ἐπηρώτησεν (questioned) αὐτὸν (Him) ὁ (the) ἡγεμὼν (governor), λέγων (saying), “Σὺ (You) εἶ (are) ὁ (the) Βασιλεὺς (King) τῶν (of the) Ἰουδαίων (Jews)?” Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ἔφη (said), “Σὺ (You) λέγεις (say).” 12Καὶ (And) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) κατηγορεῖσθαι (being accused) αὐτὸν (His) ὑπὸ (by) τῶν (the) ἀρχιερέων (chief priests) καὶ (and) πρεσβυτέρων (elders), οὐδὲν (nothing) ἀπεκρίνατο (He answered). 13Τότε (Then) λέγει (says) αὐτῷ (to Him) ὁ (-) Πιλᾶτος (Pilate), “Οὐκ (Not) ἀκούεις (do you hear) πόσα (how many things) σου (You) καταμαρτυροῦσιν (they witness against)?” 14Καὶ (And) οὐκ (not) ἀπεκρίθη (He did answer) αὐτῷ (him), πρὸς (to) οὐδὲ (not even) ἓν (one) ῥῆμα (word), ὥστε (so as) θαυμάζειν (to amaze) τὸν (the) ἡγεμόνα (governor) λίαν (exceedingly). The Crowd Chooses Barabbas 15Κατὰ (At) δὲ (now) ἑορτὴν (the feast), εἰώθει (was accustomed) ὁ (the) ἡγεμὼν (governor) ἀπολύειν (to release) ἕνα (one) τῷ (to the) ὄχλῳ (multitude) δέσμιον (prisoner), ὃν (whom) ἤθελον (they were wishing). 16εἶχον (They were holding) δὲ (now) τότε (at that time) δέσμιον (a prisoner) ἐπίσημον (notable), λεγόμενον (called) Βαραββᾶν (Barabbas).b 17συνηγμένων (Being gathered together) οὖν (therefore) αὐτῶν (of them), εἶπεν (said) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Πιλᾶτος (Pilate), “Τίνα (Whom) θέλετε (will you that) ἀπολύσω (I shall release) ὑμῖν (to you)? τὸν› (-) Βαραββᾶν (Barabbas), ἢ (or) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus), τὸν (who) λεγόμενον (is called) Χριστόν (Christ)?” 18ᾔδει (He knew) γὰρ (for) ὅτι (that) διὰ (through) φθόνον (envy) παρέδωκαν (they delivered up) αὐτόν (him). 19Καθημένου (As was sitting) δὲ (now) αὐτοῦ (he) ἐπὶ (on) τοῦ (the) βήματος (judgment seat), ἀπέστειλεν (sent) πρὸς (to) αὐτὸν (him) ἡ (the) γυνὴ (wife) αὐτοῦ (of him), λέγουσα (saying), “Μηδὲν (Let there be nothing) σοὶ (between you) καὶ (and) τῷ (the) δικαίῳ (righteous man) ἐκείνῳ (that); πολλὰ (many things) γὰρ (for) ἔπαθον (I suffered) σήμερον (today) κατ’ (in) ὄναρ (a dream) δι’ (because of) αὐτόν (Him).” 20Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) ἀρχιερεῖς (the chief priests) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) πρεσβύτεροι (elders) ἔπεισαν (persuaded) τοὺς (the) ὄχλους (crowds) ἵνα (that) αἰτήσωνται (they should ask for) τὸν (-) Βαραββᾶν (Barabbas), τὸν (-) δὲ (and) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) ἀπολέσωσιν (should destroy). 21Ἀποκριθεὶς (Answering) δὲ (now), ὁ (the) ἡγεμὼν (governor) εἶπεν (said) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Τίνα (Which) θέλετε (do you desire) ἀπὸ (of) τῶν (the) δύο (two), ἀπολύσω (I release) ὑμῖν (to you)?” Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπαν (they said), “Τὸν (-) Βαραββᾶν (Barabbas).” 22Λέγει (Says) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Πιλᾶτος (Pilate), “Τί (What) οὖν (then) ποιήσω (should I do with) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus), τὸν (who) λεγόμενον (is called) Χριστόν (Christ)?” Λέγουσιν (They say) πάντες (all), “Σταυρωθήτω (Let Him be crucified).” 23Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) ἔφη (he said), “Τί (What) γὰρ (for) κακὸν (evil) ἐποίησεν (did He commit)?” Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) περισσῶς (all the more) ἔκραζον (they kept crying out), λέγοντες (saying), “Σταυρωθήτω (Let Him be crucified).” Pilate Washes his Hands 24Ἰδὼν (Having seen) δὲ (now) ὁ (-) Πιλᾶτος (Pilate) ὅτι (that) οὐδὲν (nothing) ὠφελεῖ (it availed), ἀλλὰ (but) μᾶλλον (rather) θόρυβος (a riot) γίνεται (is arising), λαβὼν (having taken) ὕδωρ (water), ἀπενίψατο (he washed) τὰς (the) χεῖρας (hands) ἀπέναντι* (before) τοῦ (the) ὄχλου (crowd), λέγων (saying), “Ἀθῷός (Guiltless) εἰμι (I am) ἀπὸ (of) τοῦ (the) αἵματος (blood) τούτου (of this). ὑμεῖς (For yourselves) ὄψεσθε (you will see).”c 25Καὶ (And) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering), πᾶς (all) ὁ (the) λαὸς (people) εἶπεν (said), “Τὸ (The) αἷμα (blood) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐφ’ (be on) ἡμᾶς (us), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (on) τὰ (the) τέκνα (children) ἡμῶν (of us).” 26Τότε (Then) ἀπέλυσεν (he released) αὐτοῖς (to them) τὸν (-) Βαραββᾶν (Barabbas); τὸν (-) δὲ (and) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) φραγελλώσας (having flogged), παρέδωκεν (He delivered up Him), ἵνα (that) σταυρωθῇ (He might be crucified). The Soldiers Mock Jesus 27Τότε (Then) οἱ (the) στρατιῶται (soldiers) τοῦ (of the) ἡγεμόνος (governor), παραλαβόντες (having taken with them) τὸν (-) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus) εἰς (to) τὸ (the) πραιτώριον (Praetorium), συνήγαγον (gathered) ἐπ’ (before) αὐτὸν (Him) ὅλην (all) τὴν (the) σπεῖραν (cohort). 28καὶ (And) ἐκδύσαντες (having stripped) αὐτὸν (Him), χλαμύδα (a robe) κοκκίνην (scarlet) περιέθηκαν (they put around) αὐτῷ (Him). 29καὶ (And) πλέξαντες (having twisted together) στέφανον (a crown) ἐξ (of) ἀκανθῶν (thorns), ἐπέθηκαν (they put it) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) κεφαλῆς (head) αὐτοῦ (of Him), καὶ (and) κάλαμον (a reed) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) δεξιᾷ (right hand) αὐτοῦ (of Him); καὶ (and) γονυπετήσαντες (having bowed the knees) ἔμπροσθεν (before) αὐτοῦ (Him), ἐνέπαιξαν (they mocked) αὐτῷ (Him), λέγοντες (saying), “Χαῖρε (Hail), Βασιλεῦ (King) τῶν (of the) Ἰουδαίων (Jews)!” 30καὶ (And) ἐμπτύσαντες (having spit) εἰς (upon) αὐτὸν (Him), ἔλαβον (they took) τὸν (the) κάλαμον (reed) καὶ (and) ἔτυπτον (kept striking Him) εἰς (on) τὴν (the) κεφαλὴν (head) αὐτοῦ (of Him). 31Καὶ (And) ὅτε (when) ἐνέπαιξαν (they had mocked) αὐτῷ (Him), ἐξέδυσαν (they took off) αὐτὸν (Him) τὴν (the) χλαμύδα (robe), καὶ (and) ἐνέδυσαν (they put on) αὐτὸν (Him) τὰ (the) ἱμάτια (garments) αὐτοῦ (of Him) καὶ (and) ἀπήγαγον (led away) αὐτὸν (Him) εἰς (to) τὸ (-) σταυρῶσαι (crucify Him). The Crucifixion 32Ἐξερχόμενοι (Going forth) δὲ (now), εὗρον (they found) ἄνθρωπον (a man) Κυρηναῖον (of Cyrene), ὀνόματι (named) Σίμωνα (Simon). τοῦτον (Him) ἠγγάρευσαν (they compelled) ἵνα (that) ἄρῃ (he might carry) τὸν (the) σταυρὸν (cross) αὐτοῦ (of Him). 33Καὶ (And) ἐλθόντες (having come) εἰς (to) τόπον (a place) λεγόμενον (called) Γολγοθᾶ (Golgotha), ὅ (which) ἐστιν (is) κρανίου (of a Skull) τόπος (Place) λεγόμενος (called), 34ἔδωκαν (they gave) αὐτῷ (Him) πιεῖν (to drink) οἶνον (wine) μετὰ (with) χολῆς (gall) μεμιγμένον (mingled); καὶ (and) γευσάμενος (having tasted), οὐκ (not) ἠθέλησεν (He was willing) πιεῖν (to drink it). 35Σταυρώσαντες (Having crucified) δὲ (now) αὐτὸν (Him), διεμερίσαντο (they divided) τὰ (the) ἱμάτια (garments) αὐτοῦ (of Him), βάλλοντες (casting) κλῆρον (lots).d 36καὶ (And) καθήμενοι (sitting down), ἐτήρουν (they were guarding) αὐτὸν (Him) ἐκεῖ (there). 37καὶ (And) ἐπέθηκαν (they put up) ἐπάνω (over) τῆς (the) κεφαλῆς (head) αὐτοῦ (of Him) τὴν (the) αἰτίαν (accusation) αὐτοῦ (of Him) γεγραμμένην (written): 38Τότε (At the same time) σταυροῦνται (are crucified) σὺν (with) αὐτῷ (Him) δύο (two) λῃσταί (robbers), εἷς (one) ἐκ (at the) δεξιῶν (right hand), καὶ (and) εἷς (one) ἐξ (at the) εὐωνύμων (left). 39Οἱ (Those) δὲ (now) παραπορευόμενοι (passing by) ἐβλασφήμουν (kept railing at) αὐτὸν (Him), κινοῦντες (wagging) τὰς (the) κεφαλὰς (heads) αὐτῶν (of them) 40καὶ (and) λέγοντες (saying), “Ὁ (The One) καταλύων (destroying) τὸν (the) ναὸν (temple) καὶ (and) ἐν (in) τρισὶν (three) ἡμέραις (days) οἰκοδομῶν (building it), σῶσον (save) σεαυτόν (Yourself)! εἰ (If) Υἱὸς (the Son) εἶ (You are) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), καὶ (also) κατάβηθι (descend) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) σταυροῦ (cross)!” 41Ὁμοίως (Likewise) ‹καὶ› (also) οἱ (the) ἀρχιερεῖς (chief priests), ἐμπαίζοντες (mocking), μετὰ (with) τῶν (the) γραμματέων (scribes) καὶ (and) πρεσβυτέρων (elders), ἔλεγον (were saying), 42“Ἄλλους (Others) ἔσωσεν (He saved). ἑαυτὸν (Himself) οὐ (not) δύναται (is He able) σῶσαι (to save). Βασιλεὺς (King) Ἰσραήλ (of Israel) ἐστιν (He is). καταβάτω (Let Him descend) νῦν (now) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) σταυροῦ (cross), καὶ (and) πιστεύσομεν (we will believe) ἐπ’ (in) αὐτόν (Him). 43πέποιθεν (He trusted) ἐπὶ (on) τὸν (-) Θεόν (God). ῥυσάσθω (Let Him deliver) νῦν (now) εἰ (if) θέλει (He wants) αὐτόν (Him). εἶπεν (He said) γὰρ (for) ὅτι (-), ‘Θεοῦ (Of God) εἰμι (I am) Υἱός (the Son).’” 44Τὸ (-) δ’ (And) αὐτὸ (likewise) καὶ (even) οἱ (the) λῃσταὶ (robbers), οἱ (those) συσταυρωθέντες (having been crucified) σὺν (with) αὐτῷ (Him), ὠνείδιζον (were upbraiding) αὐτόν (Him). The Death of Jesus 45Ἀπὸ (From) δὲ (then) ἕκτης (the sixth) ὥρας (hour), σκότος (darkness) ἐγένετο (was) ἐπὶ (over) πᾶσαν (all) τὴν (the) γῆν (land), ἕως (until) ὥρας (the hour) ἐνάτης (ninth). 46περὶ (About) δὲ (then) τὴν (the) ἐνάτην (ninth) ὥραν (hour), ἀνεβόησεν (cried out) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) φωνῇ (in a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud), λέγων (saying), “Ἠλὶ* (Eli), ἠλὶ* (Eli),e λεμὰ (lema) σαβαχθάνι* (sabachthani)?” τοῦτ’ (That) ἔστιν (is), “Θεέ (God) μου (of Me), θεέ (God) μου (of Me), ἵνα‿ (so that) τί (why) με (Me) ἐγκατέλιπες (have you forsaken)?”f 47Τινὲς (Some) δὲ (then) τῶν (of those who) ἐκεῖ (there) ἑστηκότων (were standing), ἀκούσαντες (having heard), ἔλεγον (began saying) ὅτι (-), “Ἠλίαν (Elijah) φωνεῖ (calls) οὗτος (this man).” 48καὶ (And) εὐθέως (immediately), δραμὼν (having run) εἷς (one) ἐξ (of) αὐτῶν (them) καὶ (and) λαβὼν (having taken) σπόγγον (a sponge), πλήσας (having filled it) τε (and) ὄξους (with vinegar) καὶ (and) περιθεὶς (having put it on) καλάμῳ (a reed), ἐπότιζεν (gave to drink) αὐτόν (Him). 49Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) λοιποὶ (the rest) ἔλεγον* (were saying), “Ἄφες (Let be). ἴδωμεν (Let us see) εἰ (whether) ἔρχεται (comes) Ἠλίας (Elijah) σώσων (to save) αὐτόν (Him).” 50Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) πάλιν (again), κράξας (having cried) φωνῇ (in a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud), ἀφῆκεν (yielded up) τὸ (His) πνεῦμα (spirit). 51Καὶ (And) ἰδοὺ (behold), τὸ (the) καταπέτασμα (veil) τοῦ (of the) ναοῦ (temple) ἐσχίσθη (was torn) ἀπ’ (from) ἄνωθεν (top) ἕως (to) κάτω (bottom), εἰς (into) δύο (two); καὶ (and) ἡ (the) γῆ (earth) ἐσείσθη (was shaken), καὶ (and) αἱ (the) πέτραι (rocks) ἐσχίσθησαν (were split), 52καὶ (and) τὰ (the) μνημεῖα (tombs) ἀνεῴχθησαν (were opened), καὶ (and) πολλὰ (many) σώματα (bodies) τῶν (of the) κεκοιμημένων (having fallen asleep) ἁγίων (saints) ἠγέρθησαν (arose), 53καὶ (and) ἐξελθόντες (having gone forth) ἐκ (out of) τῶν (the) μνημείων (tombs) μετὰ (after) τὴν (the) ἔγερσιν (resurrection) αὐτοῦ (of Him), εἰσῆλθον (they entered) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) ἁγίαν (holy) πόλιν (city) καὶ (and) ἐνεφανίσθησαν (appeared) πολλοῖς (to many). 54Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) ἑκατόνταρχος (the centurion) καὶ (and) οἱ (those) μετ’ (with) αὐτοῦ (him) τηροῦντες (keeping guard over) τὸν (-) Ἰησοῦν (Jesus), ἰδόντες (having seen) τὸν (the) σεισμὸν (earthquake) καὶ (and) τὰ (the things) γενόμενα* (taking place), ἐφοβήθησαν (feared) σφόδρα (greatly), λέγοντες (saying), “Ἀληθῶς (Truly) Θεοῦ (God’s) Υἱὸς (Son) ἦν (was) οὗτος (this).” 55Ἦσαν (They were) δὲ (now) ἐκεῖ (there) γυναῖκες (women) πολλαὶ (many) ἀπὸ (from) μακρόθεν (afar off), θεωροῦσαι (looking on), αἵτινες (who) ἠκολούθησαν (followed) τῷ (-) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (-) Γαλιλαίας (Galilee), διακονοῦσαι (ministering) αὐτῷ (to Him), 56ἐν (among) αἷς (whom) ἦν (was) Μαρία (Mary) ἡ (-) Μαγδαληνή (Magdalene), καὶ (and) Μαρία (Mary) ἡ (the) τοῦ (-) Ἰακώβου (of James) καὶ (and) Ἰωσὴφ (Joseph) μήτηρ (mother), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) μήτηρ (mother) τῶν (of the) υἱῶν (sons) Ζεβεδαίου (of Zebedee). The Burial of Jesus 57Ὀψίας (Evening) δὲ (now) γενομένης (having arrived), ἦλθεν (came) ἄνθρωπος (a man) πλούσιος (rich) ἀπὸ (from) Ἁριμαθαίας (Arimathea), τοὔνομα (named) Ἰωσήφ (Joseph), ὃς (who) καὶ (also) αὐτὸς (himself) ἐμαθητεύθη (was discipled) τῷ (-) Ἰησοῦ (to Jesus). 58οὗτος (He) προσελθὼν (having gone) τῷ (-) Πιλάτῳ (to Pilate), ᾐτήσατο (asked for) τὸ (the) σῶμα (body) τοῦ (-) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus). τότε (Then) ὁ (-) Πιλᾶτος (Pilate) ἐκέλευσεν (commanded it) ἀποδοθῆναι (to be given up). 59καὶ (And) λαβὼν (having taken) τὸ (the) σῶμα (body), ὁ (-) Ἰωσὴφ (Joseph) ἐνετύλιξεν (wrapped) αὐτὸ (it) ἐν (in) σινδόνι (a linen cloth) καθαρᾷ (clean) 60καὶ (and) ἔθηκεν (placed) αὐτὸ (it) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) καινῷ (new) αὐτοῦ (of him) μνημείῳ (tomb), ὃ (which) ἐλατόμησεν (he had cut) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) πέτρᾳ (rock); καὶ (and) προσκυλίσας (having rolled) λίθον (a stone) μέγαν (great) τῇ (to the) θύρᾳ (door) τοῦ (of the) μνημείου (tomb), ἀπῆλθεν (he went away). 61Ἦν (Was) δὲ (now) ἐκεῖ (there) Μαριὰμ (Mary) ἡ (-) Μαγδαληνὴ (Magdalene), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) ἄλλη (other) Μαρία (Mary), καθήμεναι (sitting) ἀπέναντι (opposite) τοῦ (the) τάφου (tomb). The Guards at the Tomb 62Τῇ (-) δὲ (And) ἐπαύριον (the next day), ἥτις (which) ἐστὶν (is) μετὰ (after) τὴν (the) Παρασκευήν (Preparation), συνήχθησαν (were gathered together) οἱ (the) ἀρχιερεῖς (chief priests) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) Φαρισαῖοι (Pharisees) πρὸς (before) Πιλᾶτον (Pilate), 63λέγοντες (saying), “Κύριε (Sir), ἐμνήσθημεν (we have remembered) ὅτι (how) ἐκεῖνος (that) ὁ (-) πλάνος (deceiver) εἶπεν (said) ἔτι (while) ζῶν (living), ‘Μετὰ (After) τρεῖς (three) ἡμέρας (days) ἐγείρομαι (I arise).’ 64κέλευσον (Command) οὖν (therefore) ἀσφαλισθῆναι (to be secured) τὸν (the) τάφον (tomb) ἕως (until) τῆς (the) τρίτης (third) ἡμέρας (day), μή‿ (lest) ποτε (ever) ἐλθόντες (having come), οἱ (the) μαθηταὶ (disciples) ‹αὐτοῦ› (of Him) κλέψωσιν (steal away) αὐτὸν (him) καὶ (and) εἴπωσιν (say) τῷ (to the) λαῷ (people), ‘Ἠγέρθη (He is risen) ἀπὸ (from) τῶν (the) νεκρῶν (dead).’ καὶ (And) ἔσται (will be) ἡ (the) ἐσχάτη (last) πλάνη (deception) χείρων (worse) τῆς (than the) πρώτης (first).” 65Ἔφη (Said) αὐτοῖς (to them) ὁ (-) Πιλᾶτος (Pilate), “Ἔχετε (You have) κουστωδίαν (a guard). ὑπάγετε (Go) ἀσφαλίσασθε (make it as secure) ὡς (as) οἴδατε (you know how).”
