1One day Jesus said to his disciples, “There will always be temptations to sin, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting!1Εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ Ἀνένδεκτόν ἐστιν τοῦ τὰ σκάνδαλα μὴ ἐλθεῖν πλὴν* οὐαὶ δι’ οὗ ἔρχεται
2 It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around your neck than to cause one of these little ones to fall into sin.2λυσιτελεῖ αὐτῷ εἰ λίθος μυλικὸς περίκειται περὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔρριπται εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν ἵνα σκανδαλίσῃ τῶν μικρῶν τούτων ἕνα
3 So watch yourselves! “If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive.3Προσέχετε ἑαυτοῖς ἐὰν ἁμάρτῃ ἀδελφός σου ἐπιτίμησον αὐτῷ καὶ ἐὰν μετανοήσῃ ἄφες αὐτῷ
4 Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.”4καὶ ἐὰν ἑπτάκις τῆς ἡμέρας ἁμαρτήσῃ εἰς σὲ καὶ ἑπτάκις ἐπιστρέψῃ πρὸς σὲ λέγων Μετανοῶ ἀφήσεις αὐτῷ
5The apostles said to the Lord, “Show us how to increase our faith.”5Καὶ εἶπαν οἱ ἀπόστολοι τῷ Κυρίῳ Πρόσθες ἡμῖν πίστιν
6The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you!6Εἶπεν δὲ Κύριος Εἰ ἔχετε πίστιν ὡς κόκκον σινάπεως ἐλέγετε ἂν τῇ συκαμίνῳ ταύτῃ Ἐκριζώθητι καὶ φυτεύθητι ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ καὶ ὑπήκουσεν ἂν ὑμῖν
7 “When a servant comes in from plowing or taking care of sheep, does his master say, ‘Come in and eat with me’?7Τίς δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν δοῦλον ἔχων ἀροτριῶντα ποιμαίνοντα ὃς εἰσελθόντι ἐκ τοῦ ἀγροῦ ἐρεῖ αὐτῷ Εὐθέως παρελθὼν ἀνάπεσε
8 No, he says, ‘Prepare my meal, put on your apron, and serve me while I eat. Then you can eat later.’8ἀλλ’ οὐχὶ ἐρεῖ αὐτῷ Ἑτοίμασον τί δειπνήσω καὶ περιζωσάμενος διακόνει μοι ἕως φάγω καὶ πίω καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα φάγεσαι καὶ πίεσαι σύ
9 And does the master thank the servant for doing what he was told to do? Of course not.9μὴ ἔχει χάριν τῷ δούλῳ ὅτι ἐποίησεν τὰ διαταχθέντα
10 In the same way, when you obey me you should say, ‘We are unworthy servants who have simply done our duty.’”
11As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria.11Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ πορεύεσθαι εἰς Ἰερουσαλὴμ καὶ αὐτὸς διήρχετο διὰ μέσον Σαμαρείας καὶ Γαλιλαίας
12As he entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance,12καὶ εἰσερχομένου αὐτοῦ εἴς τινα κώμην ἀπήντησαν [αὐτῷ] δέκα λεπροὶ ἄνδρες οἳ ἔστησαν πόρρωθεν
13crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”13καὶ αὐτοὶ ἦραν φωνὴν λέγοντες Ἰησοῦ Ἐπιστάτα ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς
14He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy.14Καὶ ἰδὼν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Πορευθέντες ἐπιδείξατε ἑαυτοὺς τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ὑπάγειν αὐτοὺς ἐκαθαρίσθησαν
15One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!”15Εἷς δὲ ἐξ αὐτῶν ἰδὼν ὅτι ἰάθη ὑπέστρεψεν μετὰ φωνῆς μεγάλης δοξάζων τὸν Θεόν
16He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan.16καὶ ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον παρὰ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ εὐχαριστῶν αὐτῷ καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν Σαμαρίτης
17Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine?17Ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν Οὐχὶ* οἱ δέκα ἐκαθαρίσθησαν οἱ δὲ ἐννέα ποῦ
18 Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”18οὐχ εὑρέθησαν ὑποστρέψαντες δοῦναι δόξαν τῷ Θεῷ εἰ μὴ ἀλλογενὴς οὗτος
19And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you. ” The Coming of the Kingdom19καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Ἀναστὰς πορεύου πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε
20One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will the Kingdom of God come?” Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs.20Ἐπερωτηθεὶς δὲ ὑπὸ τῶν Φαρισαίων πότε ἔρχεται βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς καὶ εἶπεν Οὐκ ἔρχεται βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ μετὰ παρατηρήσεως
21 You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you. ”21οὐδὲ ἐροῦσιν Ἰδοὺ ὧδε Ἐκεῖ ἰδοὺ γὰρ βασιλεία τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐντὸς ὑμῶν ἐστιν
22Then he said to his disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see the day when the Son of Man returns, but you won’t see it.22Εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητάς Ἐλεύσονται ἡμέραι ὅτε ἐπιθυμήσετε μίαν τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῦ Υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἰδεῖν καὶ οὐκ ὄψεσθε
23 People will tell you, ‘Look, there is the Son of Man,’ or ‘Here he is,’ but don’t go out and follow them.23καὶ ἐροῦσιν ὑμῖν Ἰδοὺ ἐκεῖ [ἤ] Ἰδοὺ ὧδε μὴ ἀπέλθητε μηδὲ διώξητε
24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so it will be on the day when the Son of Man comes.24ὥσπερ γὰρ ἀστραπὴ ἀστράπτουσα ἐκ τῆς ὑπὸ τὸν οὐρανὸν εἰς τὴν ὑπ’ οὐρανὸν λάμπει οὕτως ἔσται Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ αὐτοῦ
25 But first the Son of Man must suffer terribly and be rejected by this generation.25πρῶτον δὲ δεῖ αὐτὸν πολλὰ παθεῖν καὶ ἀποδοκιμασθῆναι ἀπὸ τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης
26 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day.26Καὶ καθὼς ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Νῶε οὕτως ἔσται καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τοῦ Υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου
27 In those days, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came and destroyed them all.27ἤσθιον ἔπινον ἐγάμουν ἐγαμίζοντο ἄχρι ἧς ἡμέρας εἰσῆλθεν Νῶε εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν καὶ ἦλθεν κατακλυσμὸς καὶ ἀπώλεσεν πάντας
28 “And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building—28Ὁμοίως καθὼς ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Λώτ ἤσθιον ἔπινον ἠγόραζον ἐπώλουν ἐφύτευον ᾠκοδόμουν
29 until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.29 δὲ ἡμέρᾳ ἐξῆλθεν Λὼτ ἀπὸ Σοδόμων ἔβρεξεν πῦρ καὶ θεῖον ἀπ’ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἀπώλεσεν πάντας
30 Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed.30Κατὰ τὰ αὐτὰ ἔσται ἡμέρᾳ Υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἀποκαλύπτεται
31 On that day a person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. A person out in the field must not return home.31ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὃς ἔσται ἐπὶ τοῦ δώματος καὶ τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ μὴ καταβάτω ἆραι αὐτά καὶ ἐν ἀγρῷ ὁμοίως μὴ ἐπιστρεψάτω εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω
32 Remember what happened to Lot’s wife!32μνημονεύετε τῆς γυναικὸς Λώτ
33 If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go, you will save it.33ὃς ἐὰν ζητήσῃ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ περιποιήσασθαι ἀπολέσει αὐτήν ὃς δ’* ἂν ἀπολέσῃ* ζωογονήσει αὐτήν
34 That night two people will be asleep in one bed; one will be taken, the other left.34λέγω ὑμῖν ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτὶ ἔσονται δύο ἐπὶ κλίνης μιᾶς εἷς παραλημφθήσεται καὶ ἕτερος ἀφεθήσεται
35 Two women will be grinding flour together at the mill; one will be taken, the other left. ”35ἔσονται δύο ἀλήθουσαι ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό μία παραλημφθήσεται δὲ ἑτέρα ἀφεθήσεται
3636{δύο ἔσονται ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ εἷς παραληφθήσεται καὶ ἕτερος ἀφεθήσεται}
37“Where will this happen, Lord?” the disciples asked. Jesus replied, “Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.”37Καὶ ἀποκριθέντες λέγουσιν αὐτῷ Ποῦ Κύριε δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Ὅπου τὸ σῶμα ἐκεῖ καὶ οἱ ἀετοὶ ἐπισυναχθήσονται
