1Brotherly love must continue.1Ἡ φιλαδελφία μενέτω
2Do not neglect hospitality, because through it some have entertained angels without knowing it.2τῆς φιλοξενίας μὴ ἐπιλανθάνεσθε διὰ ταύτης γὰρ ἔλαθόν τινες ξενίσαντες ἀγγέλους
3Remember those in prison as though you were in prison with them, and those ill-treated as though you too felt their torment.3μιμνῄσκεσθε τῶν δεσμίων ὡς συνδεδεμένοι τῶν κακουχουμένων ὡς καὶ αὐτοὶ ὄντες ἐν σώματι
4Marriage must be honored among all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge sexually immoral people and adulterers.4Τίμιος ὁ γάμος ἐν πᾶσιν καὶ ἡ κοίτη ἀμίαντος πόρνους γὰρ καὶ μοιχοὺς κρινεῖ ὁ Θεός
5Your conduct must be free from the love of money and you must be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you and I will never abandon you."5Ἀφιλάργυρος ὁ τρόπος ἀρκούμενοι τοῖς παροῦσιν αὐτὸς γὰρ εἴρηκεν Οὐ μή σε ἀνῶ οὐδ’ οὐ μή σε ἐγκαταλίπω
6So we can say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"6Ὥστε θαρροῦντας ἡμᾶς λέγειν Κύριος ἐμοὶ βοηθός [καὶ] οὐ φοβηθήσομαι τί ποιήσει μοι ἄνθρωπος
7Remember your leaders, who spoke God's message to you; reflect on the outcome of their lives and imitate their faith.7Μνημονεύετε τῶν ἡγουμένων ὑμῶν οἵτινες ἐλάλησαν ὑμῖν τὸν λόγον τοῦ Θεοῦ ὧν ἀναθεωροῦντες τὴν ἔκβασιν τῆς ἀναστροφῆς μιμεῖσθε τὴν πίστιν
8Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever!8Ἰησοῦς Χριστὸς ἐχθὲς καὶ σήμερον ὁ αὐτός καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας
9Do not be carried away by all sorts of strange teachings. For it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not ritual meals, which have never benefited those who participated in them.9Διδαχαῖς ποικίλαις καὶ ξέναις μὴ παραφέρεσθε καλὸν γὰρ χάριτι βεβαιοῦσθαι τὴν καρδίαν οὐ βρώμασιν ἐν οἷς οὐκ ὠφελήθησαν οἱ περιπατοῦντες
10We have an altar that those who serve in the tabernacle have no right to eat from.10Ἔχομεν θυσιαστήριον ἐξ οὗ φαγεῖν οὐκ ἔχουσιν ἐξουσίαν οἱ τῇ σκηνῇ λατρεύοντες
11For the bodies of those animals whose blood the high priest brings into the sanctuary as an offering for sin are burned outside the camp.11Ὧν γὰρ εἰσφέρεται ζῴων τὸ αἷμα περὶ ἁμαρτίας εἰς τὰ ἅγια διὰ τοῦ ἀρχιερέως τούτων τὰ σώματα κατακαίεται ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς
12Therefore, to sanctify the people by his own blood, Jesus also suffered outside the camp.12διὸ καὶ Ἰησοῦς ἵνα ἁγιάσῃ διὰ τοῦ ἰδίου αἵματος τὸν λαόν ἔξω τῆς πύλης ἔπαθεν
13We must go out to him, then, outside the camp, bearing the abuse he experienced.13τοίνυν ἐξερχώμεθα πρὸς αὐτὸν ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς τὸν ὀνειδισμὸν αὐτοῦ φέροντες
14For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.14οὐ γὰρ ἔχομεν ὧδε μένουσαν πόλιν ἀλλὰ τὴν μέλλουσαν ἐπιζητοῦμεν
15Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, acknowledging his name.15Δι’ αὐτοῦ οὖν ἀναφέρωμεν θυσίαν αἰνέσεως διὰ παντὸς τῷ Θεῷ τοῦτ’ ἔστιν καρπὸν χειλέων ὁμολογούντων τῷ ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ
16And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for God is pleased with such sacrifices. 16τῆς δὲ εὐποιΐας καὶ κοινωνίας μὴ ἐπιλανθάνεσθε τοιαύταις γὰρ θυσίαις εὐαρεστεῖται ὁ Θεός
17Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls and will give an account for their work. Let them do this with joy and not with complaints, for this would be no advantage for you.17Πείθεσθε τοῖς ἡγουμένοις ὑμῶν καὶ ὑπείκετε αὐτοὶ γὰρ ἀγρυπνοῦσιν ὑπὲρ τῶν ψυχῶν ὑμῶν ὡς λόγον ἀποδώσοντες ἵνα μετὰ χαρᾶς τοῦτο ποιῶσιν καὶ μὴ στενάζοντες ἀλυσιτελὲς γὰρ ὑμῖν τοῦτο
18Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to conduct ourselves rightly in every respect.18Προσεύχεσθε περὶ ἡμῶν πειθόμεθα γὰρ ὅτι καλὴν συνείδησιν ἔχομεν ἐν πᾶσιν καλῶς θέλοντες ἀναστρέφεσθαι
19I especially ask you to pray that I may be restored to you very soon. 19περισσοτέρως δὲ παρακαλῶ τοῦτο ποιῆσαι ἵνα τάχιον ἀποκατασταθῶ ὑμῖν
20Now may the God of peace who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus Christ,20Ὁ δὲ Θεὸς τῆς εἰρήνης ὁ ἀναγαγὼν ἐκ νεκρῶν τὸν ποιμένα τῶν προβάτων τὸν μέγαν ἐν αἵματι διαθήκης αἰωνίου τὸν Κύριον ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦν
21equip you with every good thing to do his will, working in us what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever. Amen. 21καταρτίσαι ὑμᾶς ἐν παντὶ ἀγαθῷ εἰς τὸ ποιῆσαι τὸ θέλημα αὐτοῦ ποιῶν ἐν ἡμῖν τὸ εὐάρεστον ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ διὰ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ᾧ ἡ δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων ἀμήν
22Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, bear with my message of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you briefly.22Παρακαλῶ δὲ ὑμᾶς ἀδελφοί ἀνέχεσθε τοῦ λόγου τῆς παρακλήσεως καὶ γὰρ διὰ βραχέων ἐπέστειλα ὑμῖν
23You should know that our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon, he will be with me when I see you.23Γινώσκετε τὸν ἀδελφὸν ἡμῶν Τιμόθεον ἀπολελυμένον μεθ’ οὗ ἐὰν τάχιον ἔρχηται ὄψομαι ὑμᾶς
24Greetings to all your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy send you greetings.24Ἀσπάσασθε πάντας τοὺς ἡγουμένους ὑμῶν καὶ πάντας τοὺς ἁγίους Ἀσπάζονται ὑμᾶς οἱ ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰταλίας
25Grace be with you all. 25Ἡ χάρις μετὰ πάντων ὑμῶν ⧼Ἀμήν⧽
