Let brotherly love continue.1 φιλαδελφία μενέτω
Don't neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it.2τῆς φιλοξενίας μὴ ἐπιλανθάνεσθε διὰ ταύτης γὰρ ἔλαθόν τινες ξενίσαντες ἀγγέλους
Remember those in prison, as though you were in prison with them, and the mistreated, as though you yourselves were suffering bodily.3μιμνῄσκεσθε τῶν δεσμίων ὡς συνδεδεμένοι τῶν κακουχουμένων ὡς καὶ αὐτοὶ ὄντες ἐν σώματι
Marriage is to be honored by all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, because God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.4Τίμιος γάμος ἐν πᾶσιν καὶ κοίτη ἀμίαντος πόρνους γὰρ καὶ μοιχοὺς κρινεῖ Θεός
Keep your life free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.5Ἀφιλάργυρος τρόπος ἀρκούμενοι τοῖς παροῦσιν αὐτὸς γὰρ εἴρηκεν Οὐ μή σε ἀνῶ οὐδ’ οὐ μή σε ἐγκαταλίπω
Therefore, we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?6Ὥστε θαρροῦντας ἡμᾶς λέγειν Κύριος ἐμοὶ βοηθός [καὶ] οὐ φοβηθήσομαι τί ποιήσει μοι ἄνθρωπος
Remember your leaders who have spoken God's word to you. As you carefully observe the outcome of their lives, imitate their faith.7Μνημονεύετε τῶν ἡγουμένων ὑμῶν οἵτινες ἐλάλησαν ὑμῖν τὸν λόγον τοῦ Θεοῦ ὧν ἀναθεωροῦντες τὴν ἔκβασιν τῆς ἀναστροφῆς μιμεῖσθε τὴν πίστιν
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.8Ἰησοῦς Χριστὸς ἐχθὲς καὶ σήμερον αὐτός καὶ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας
Don't be led astray by various kinds of strange teachings; for it is good for the heart to be established by grace and not by food regulations, since those who observe them have not benefited.9Διδαχαῖς ποικίλαις καὶ ξέναις μὴ παραφέρεσθε καλὸν γὰρ χάριτι βεβαιοῦσθαι τὴν καρδίαν οὐ βρώμασιν ἐν οἷς οὐκ ὠφελήθησαν οἱ περιπατοῦντες
We have an altar from which those who worship at the tabernacle do not have a right to eat.10Ἔχομεν θυσιαστήριον ἐξ οὗ φαγεῖν οὐκ ἔχουσιν ἐξουσίαν οἱ τῇ σκηνῇ λατρεύοντες
For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the most holy place by the high priest as a sin offering are burned outside the camp.11Ὧν γὰρ εἰσφέρεται ζῴων τὸ αἷμα περὶ ἁμαρτίας εἰς τὰ ἅγια διὰ τοῦ ἀρχιερέως τούτων τὰ σώματα κατακαίεται ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς
Therefore, Jesus also suffered outside the gate, so that he might sanctify the people by his own blood.12διὸ καὶ Ἰησοῦς ἵνα ἁγιάσῃ διὰ τοῦ ἰδίου αἵματος τὸν λαόν ἔξω τῆς πύλης ἔπαθεν
Let us then go to him outside the camp, bearing his disgrace.13τοίνυν ἐξερχώμεθα πρὸς αὐτὸν ἔξω τῆς παρεμβολῆς τὸν ὀνειδισμὸν αὐτοῦ φέροντες
For we do not have an enduring city here; instead, we seek the one to come.14οὐ γὰρ ἔχομεν ὧδε μένουσαν πόλιν ἀλλὰ τὴν μέλλουσαν ἐπιζητοῦμεν
Therefore, through him let us continually offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name.15Δι’ αὐτοῦ οὖν ἀναφέρωμεν θυσίαν αἰνέσεως διὰ παντὸς τῷ Θεῷ τοῦτ’ ἔστιν καρπὸν χειλέων ὁμολογούντων τῷ ὀνόματι αὐτοῦ
Don't neglect to do what is good and to share, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.16τῆς δὲ εὐποιΐας καὶ κοινωνίας μὴ ἐπιλανθάνεσθε τοιαύταις γὰρ θυσίαις εὐαρεστεῖται Θεός
Obey your leaders and submit to them, since they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account, so that they can do this with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.17Πείθεσθε τοῖς ἡγουμένοις ὑμῶν καὶ ὑπείκετε αὐτοὶ γὰρ ἀγρυπνοῦσιν ὑπὲρ τῶν ψυχῶν ὑμῶν ὡς λόγον ἀποδώσοντες ἵνα μετὰ χαρᾶς τοῦτο ποιῶσιν καὶ μὴ στενάζοντες ἀλυσιτελὲς γὰρ ὑμῖν τοῦτο
Pray for us, for we are convinced that we have a clear conscience, wanting to conduct ourselves honorably in everything.18Προσεύχεσθε περὶ ἡμῶν πειθόμεθα γὰρ ὅτι καλὴν συνείδησιν ἔχομεν ἐν πᾶσιν καλῶς θέλοντες ἀναστρέφεσθαι
And I urge you all the more to pray that I may be restored to you very soon.19περισσοτέρως δὲ παρακαλῶ τοῦτο ποιῆσαι ἵνα τάχιον ἀποκατασταθῶ ὑμῖν
Now may the God of peace, who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus--the great Shepherd of the sheep--through the blood of the everlasting covenant,20 δὲ Θεὸς τῆς εἰρήνης ἀναγαγὼν ἐκ νεκρῶν τὸν ποιμένα τῶν προβάτων τὸν μέγαν ἐν αἵματι διαθήκης αἰωνίου τὸν Κύριον ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦν
equip you with everything good to do his will, working in us what is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever.
Brothers and sisters, I urge you to receive this message of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly.22Παρακαλῶ δὲ ὑμᾶς ἀδελφοί ἀνέχεσθε τοῦ λόγου τῆς παρακλήσεως καὶ γὰρ διὰ βραχέων ἐπέστειλα ὑμῖν
Be aware that our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon enough, he will be with me when I see you.23Γινώσκετε τὸν ἀδελφὸν ἡμῶν Τιμόθεον ἀπολελυμένον μεθ’ οὗ ἐὰν τάχιον ἔρχηται ὄψομαι ὑμᾶς
Greet all your leaders and all the saints. Those who are from Italy send you greetings.24Ἀσπάσασθε πάντας τοὺς ἡγουμένους ὑμῶν καὶ πάντας τοὺς ἁγίους Ἀσπάζονται ὑμᾶς οἱ ἀπὸ τῆς Ἰταλίας
Grace be with you all.25 χάρις μετὰ πάντων ὑμῶν ⧼Ἀμήν⧽
