Mourning Turned to Joy
(Matthew 2:16–18)

1  בָּעֵ֤ת (Time), הַהִיא֙ (at that) נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH), אֶֽהְיֶה֙ (I will be) לֵֽאלֹהִ֔ים (God) לְכֹ֖ל (for all) מִשְׁפְּח֣וֹת (the families) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (of Israel), וְהֵ֖מָּה (and they) יִֽהְיוּ־ (will be) לִ֥י (My) לְעָֽם׃ס (people).

2  כֹּ֚ה (Thus) אָמַ֣ר (says) יְהוָ֔ה (YHWH),

מָצָ֥א (Found) חֵן֙ (grace) בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר (in the wilderness);

עַ֖ם (the people) שְׂרִ֣ידֵי (surviving) חָ֑רֶב (the sword)

הָל֥וֹךְ (when went) לְהַרְגִּיע֖וֹ (to find rest). יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (Israel).

3  מֵרָח֕וֹק (From afar) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) נִרְאָ֣ה (appeared) לִ֑י (to me)

וְאַהֲבַ֤ת (And with love); עוֹלָם֙ (everlasting) אֲהַבְתִּ֔יךְ (I have loved you)

עַל־ (upon) כֵּ֖ן (thus) מְשַׁכְתִּ֥יךְ (I have drawn you) חָֽסֶד׃ (with loving devotion).

4  ע֤וֹד (Again) אֶבְנֵךְ֙ (I will build you) וְֽנִבְנֵ֔ית (and you will be rebuilt),

בְּתוּלַ֖ת (O virgin) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (Israel)!

ע֚וֹד (Again) תַּעְדִּ֣י (you will put on) תֻפַּ֔יִךְ (your tambourines),

וְיָצָ֖את (and you will go forth) בִּמְח֥וֹל (in the dances) מְשַׂחֲקִֽים׃ (of those who rejoice).

5  ע֚וֹד (Again) תִּטְּעִ֣י (you will plant) כְרָמִ֔ים (vineyards) בְּהָרֵ֖י (on the mountains) שֹֽׁמְר֑וֹן (of Samaria);

נָטְע֥וּ (Planters) נֹטְעִ֖ים (will plant), וְחִלֵּֽלוּ׃ (and they will eat freely).

6  כִּ֣י (For) יֶשׁ־ (there will be) י֔וֹם (a day),

קָרְא֥וּ (when call out), נֹצְרִ֖ים (those keeping watch) בְּהַ֣ר (on Mount) אֶפְרָ֑יִם (Ephraim)

ק֚וּמוּ (Arise) וְנַעֲלֶ֣ה (and let us go up) צִיּ֔וֹן (to Zion)

אֶל־ (to) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃פ (our God).

7  כִּי־ (For) כֹ֣ה׀ (thus) אָמַ֣ר (says) יְהוָ֗ה (YHWH);

רָנּ֤וּ (Sing) לְיַֽעֲקֹב֙ (for Jacob), שִׂמְחָ֔ה (with gladness)

וְצַהֲל֖וּ (and shout) בְּרֹ֣אשׁ (for the chief) הַגּוֹיִ֑ם (of the nations);

הַשְׁמִ֤יעוּ (make it heard) הַֽלְלוּ֙ (give praise) וְאִמְר֔וּ (and say),

הוֹשַׁ֤ע (Save) יְהוָה֙ (O YHWH), אֶֽת־ (-) עַמְּךָ֔ (Your people), אֵ֖ת (-)

שְׁאֵרִ֥ית (the remnant) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (of Israel).

8  הִנְנִי֩ (Behold, I) מֵבִ֨יא (am bringing) אוֹתָ֜ם (them) מֵאֶ֣רֶץ (country), צָפ֗וֹן (from the north)

וְקִבַּצְתִּים֮ (and I will gather them) מִיַּרְכְּתֵי־ (from the ends) אָרֶץ֒ (of the earth),

בָּ֚ם (among them) עִוֵּ֣ר (the blind) וּפִסֵּ֔חַ (and the lame),

הָרָ֥ה (the one pregnant) וְיֹלֶ֖דֶת (and the one giving birth) יַחְדָּ֑ו (together);

קָהָ֥ל (assembly) גָּד֖וֹל (a great) יָשׁ֥וּבוּ (will return) הֵֽנָּה׃ (here).

9  בִּבְכִ֣י (With weeping), יָבֹ֗אוּ (they will come)

וּֽבְתַחֲנוּנִים֮ (and with supplications) אֽוֹבִילֵם֒ (I will lead them)

אֽוֹלִיכֵם֙ (I will cause them to walk) אֶל־ (to) נַ֣חֲלֵי (the rivers) מַ֔יִם (of waters) בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ (by a way), יָשָׁ֔ר (that is straight)

לֹ֥א (not) יִכָּשְׁל֖וּ (they will stumble); בָּ֑הּ (in it)

כִּֽי־ (for) הָיִ֤יתִי (I am) לְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙ (to Israel) לְאָ֔ב (for a Father),

וְאֶפְרַ֖יִם (and Ephraim) בְּכֹ֥רִי (My firstborn) הֽוּא׃ס (he is).

10  שִׁמְע֤וּ (Hear) דְבַר־ (the word) יְהוָה֙ (of YHWH), גּוֹיִ֔ם (O nations),

וְהַגִּ֥ידוּ (and declare it) בָאִיִּ֖ים (in the isles) מִמֶּרְחָ֑ק (afar off),

וְאִמְר֗וּ (and say), מְזָרֵ֤ה (the One having scattered) יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ (Israel) יְקַבְּצֶ֔נּוּ (will gather him)

וּשְׁמָר֖וֹ (and keep him) כְּרֹעֶ֥ה (as a shepherd does) עֶדְרֽוֹ׃ (his flock).

11  כִּֽי־ (For) פָדָ֥ה (has redeemed) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֶֽת־ (-) יַעֲקֹ֑ב (Jacob),

וּגְאָל֕וֹ (and He has ransomed him) מִיַּ֖ד (from the hand) חָזָ֥ק (of one stronger) מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ (than he).

12  וּבָאוּ֮ (And they will come) וְרִנְּנ֣וּ (and sing) בִמְרוֹם־ (on the height) צִיּוֹן֒ (of Zion),

וְנָהֲר֞וּ (and they will beam) אֶל־ (to) ט֣וּב (the goodness) יְהוָ֗ה (of YHWH),

עַל־ (over) דָּגָן֙ (wheat), וְעַל־ (and over) תִּירֹ֣שׁ (new wine), וְעַל־ (and over) יִצְהָ֔ר (oil),

וְעַל־ (and over) בְּנֵי־ (the young) צֹ֖אן (of the flock) וּבָקָ֑ר (and herd);

וְהָיְתָ֤ה (and will be) נַפְשָׁם֙ (their souls) כְּגַ֣ן (like a garden); רָוֶ֔ה (well-watered)

וְלֹא־ (no) יוֹסִ֥יפוּ (and they will add) לְדַאֲבָ֖ה (to languish) עֽוֹד׃ (more).

13  אָ֣ז (Then) תִּשְׂמַ֤ח (will rejoice) בְּתוּלָה֙ (the virgin) בְּמָח֔וֹל (with dancing),

וּבַחֻרִ֥ים (and the young men) וּזְקֵנִ֖ים (and the old) יַחְדָּ֑ו (together);

וְהָפַכְתִּ֨י (and I will turn) אֶבְלָ֤ם (their mourning) לְשָׂשׂוֹן֙ (to joy),

וְנִ֣חַמְתִּ֔ים (and I will comfort them) וְשִׂמַּחְתִּ֖ים (and make them rejoice) מִיגוֹנָֽם׃ (rather than sorrow).

14  וְרִוֵּיתִ֛י (And I will satiate) נֶ֥פֶשׁ (the soul) הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים (of the priests) דָּ֑שֶׁן (with abundance),

וְעַמִּ֛י (and My people) אֶת־ (with) טוּבִ֥י (My goodness), יִשְׂבָּ֖עוּ (will be satisfied)

נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָֽה׃ס (of YHWH).

15  כֹּ֣ה׀ (Thus) אָמַ֣ר (says) יְהוָ֗ה (YHWH);

ק֣וֹל (a voice) בְּרָמָ֤ה (in Ramah), נִשְׁמָע֙ (is heard)

נְהִי֙ (wailing), בְּכִ֣י (and weeping); תַמְרוּרִ֔ים (of bitterness)

רָחֵ֖ל (Rachel) מְבַכָּ֣ה (weeping) עַל־ (for) בָּנֶ֑יהָ (her children)

מֵאֲנָ֛ה (and refusing) לְהִנָּחֵ֥ם (to be comforted) עַל־ (over) בָּנֶ֖יהָ (her children),

כִּ֥י (because) אֵינֶֽנּוּ׃ס (they are no more).

16  כֹּ֣ה׀ (Thus) אָמַ֣ר (says) יְהוָ֗ה (YHWH);

מִנְעִ֤י (Restrain) קוֹלֵךְ֙ (your voice) מִבֶּ֔כִי (from weeping),

וְעֵינַ֖יִךְ (and your eyes) מִדִּמְעָ֑ה (from tears);

כִּי֩ (for) יֵ֨שׁ (there will be) שָׂכָ֤ר (reward), לִפְעֻלָּתֵךְ֙ (for your work)

נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH);

וְשָׁ֖בוּ (and they will return)

מֵאֶ֥רֶץ (from the land) אוֹיֵֽב׃ (of the enemy).

17  וְיֵשׁ־ (And there is) תִּקְוָ֥ה (hope) לְאַחֲרִיתֵ֖ךְ (for your future),

נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָ֑ה (of YHWH),

וְשָׁ֥בוּ (and will return) בָנִ֖ים (your children)

לִגְבוּלָֽם׃ס (to their own border).

18  שָׁמ֣וֹעַ (I have surely) שָׁמַ֗עְתִּי (heard) אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ (Ephraim) מִתְנוֹדֵ֔ד (bemoaning himself):

יִסַּרְתַּ֙נִי֙ (You disciplined me)

וָֽאִוָּסֵ֔ר (and I was disciplined), כְּעֵ֖גֶל (heifer) לֹ֣א (as an) לֻמָּ֑ד (untrained)

הֲשִׁיבֵ֣נִי (turn me back) וְאָשׁ֔וּבָה (and I will return);

כִּ֥י (for) אַתָּ֖ה (You are) יְהוָ֥ה (YHWH) אֱלֹהָֽי׃ (my God).

19  כִּֽי־ (For) אַחֲרֵ֤י (after) שׁוּבִי֙ (my turning back), נִחַ֔מְתִּי (I repented);

וְאַֽחֲרֵי֙ (and after) הִוָּ֣דְעִ֔י (I was instructed), סָפַ֖קְתִּי (I struck myself) עַל־ (on) יָרֵ֑ךְ (the thigh);

בֹּ֚שְׁתִּי (I was ashamed), וְגַם־ (and also) נִכְלַ֔מְתִּי (humiliated),

כִּ֥י (because) נָשָׂ֖אתִי (I bore) חֶרְפַּ֥ת (the disgrace) נְעוּרָֽי׃ (of my youth).

20  הֲבֵן֩ (Son)? יַקִּ֨יר (Dear) לִ֜י (My) אֶפְרַ֗יִם (is Ephraim)

אִ֚ם (or) יֶ֣לֶד (a child)? שַׁעֲשֻׁעִ֔ים (Of delights)

כִּֽי־ (for) מִדֵּ֤י (though) דַבְּרִי֙ (I spoke) בּ֔וֹ (against him)

זָכֹ֥ר (remembering) אֶזְכְּרֶ֖נּוּ (I remember him) ע֑וֹד (still);

עַל־ (upon) כֵּ֗ן (thus) הָמ֤וּ (yearn) מֵעַי֙ (My bowels) ל֔וֹ (for him)

רַחֵ֥ם (having compassion) אֲ‍ֽרַחֲמֶ֖נּוּ (I have compassion for him)

נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָֽה׃ס (of YHWH).

21  הַצִּ֧יבִי (Set up) לָ֣ךְ (for yourself) צִיֻּנִ֗ים (signposts),

שִׂ֤מִי (make) לָךְ֙ (for yourself) תַּמְרוּרִ֔ים (landmarks);

שִׁ֣תִי (set) לִבֵּ֔ךְ (your heart) לַֽמְסִלָּ֖ה (toward the highway),

דֶּ֣רֶךְ (the way) הָלָכְתִּי (you have traveled).

שׁ֚וּבִי (Turn back), בְּתוּלַ֣ת (O virgin) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (Israel),

שֻׁ֖בִי (turn back) אֶל־ (to) עָרַ֥יִךְ (cities of yours) אֵֽלֶּה׃ (these).

22  עַד־ (How) מָתַי֙ (long) תִּתְחַמָּקִ֔ין (will you waver),

הַבַּ֖ת (daughter)? הַשּֽׁוֹבֵבָ֑ה (O backsliding)

כִּֽי־ (for) בָרָ֨א (has created) יְהוָ֤ה (YHWH) חֲדָשָׁה֙ (a new thing) בָּאָ֔רֶץ (in the earth),

נְקֵבָ֖ה (a woman) תְּס֥וֹבֵֽב (will encompass) גָּֽבֶר׃ס (a man).

23  כֹּֽה־ (Thus) אָמַ֞ר (says) יְהוָ֤ה (YHWH of) צְבָאוֹת֙ (Hosts), אֱלֹהֵ֣י (the God) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel); ע֣וֹד (Once more) יֹאמְר֞וּ (they will speak) אֶת־ (-) הַדָּבָ֣ר (word) הַזֶּ֗ה (this) בְּאֶ֤רֶץ (in the land) יְהוּדָה֙ (of Judah) וּבְעָרָ֔יו (and in its cities) בְּשׁוּבִ֖י (when I turn back) אֶת־ (-) שְׁבוּתָ֑ם (their captivity); יְבָרֶכְךָ֧ (Bless you) יְהוָ֛ה (YHWH) נְוֵה־ (O abode) צֶ֖דֶק (of righteousness), הַ֥ר (mountain) הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ (of holiness). 24  וְיָ֥שְׁבוּ (And there will dwell) בָ֛הּ (in it) יְהוּדָ֥ה (in Judah) וְכָל־ (and in all) עָרָ֖יו (its cities) יַחְדָּ֑ו (together), אִכָּרִ֕ים (the farmers), וְנָסְע֖וּ (and those setting out) בַּעֵֽדֶר׃ (with their flock). 25  כִּ֥י (For) הִרְוֵ֖יתִי (I will quench the thirst of) נֶ֣פֶשׁ (the soul), עֲיֵפָ֑ה (that is weary) וְכָל־ (and every) נֶ֥פֶשׁ (soul) דָּאֲבָ֖ה (that has languished) מִלֵּֽאתִי׃ (and fill).

The New Covenant
(Hebrews 8:6–13)

26  עַל־ (After) זֹ֖את (this) הֱקִיצֹ֣תִי (I awoke), וָאֶרְאֶ֑ה (and looked around); וּשְׁנָתִ֖י (and my sleep) עָ֥רְבָה (was pleasant) לִּֽי׃ס (to me).

27  הִנֵּ֛ה (Behold), יָמִ֥ים (the days) בָּאִ֖ים (are coming), נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָ֑ה (of YHWH), וְזָרַעְתִּ֗י (When I will sow) אֶת־ (-) בֵּ֤ית (the house) יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ (of Israel) וְאֶת־ (and) בֵּ֣ית (the house) יְהוּדָ֔ה (of Judah) זֶ֥רַע (with the seed) אָדָ֖ם (of man), וְזֶ֥רַע (and the seed) בְּהֵמָֽה׃ (of beast). 28  וְהָיָ֞ה (And it will come to pass), כַּאֲשֶׁ֧ר (as) שָׁקַ֣דְתִּי (I have watched) עֲלֵיהֶ֗ם (over them) לִנְת֧וֹשׁ (to pluck up), וְלִנְת֛וֹץ (and to break down), וְלַהֲרֹ֖ס (and to throw down), וּלְהַאֲבִ֣יד (and to destroy), וּלְהָרֵ֑עַ (and to bring harm); כֵּ֣ן (so) אֶשְׁקֹ֧ד (I will watch) עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם (over them) לִבְנ֥וֹת (to build), וְלִנְט֖וֹעַ (and to plant), נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH).

29  בַּיָּמִ֣ים (Days) הָהֵ֔ם (In those) לֹא־ (no) יֹאמְר֣וּ (they will say) ע֔וֹד (more),

אָב֖וֹת (The fathers) אָ֣כְלוּ (have eaten) בֹ֑סֶר (sour grapes),

וְשִׁנֵּ֥י (and the teeth) בָנִ֖ים (of the children) תִּקְהֶֽינָה׃ (are set on edge).

30  כִּ֛י (But) אִם־ (instead) אִ֥ישׁ (each man) בַּעֲוֺנ֖וֹ (by his iniquity); יָמ֑וּת (will die) כָּל־ (for every) הָֽאָדָ֛ם (man) הָאֹכֵ֥ל (eating) הַבֹּ֖סֶר (the sour grapes), תִּקְהֶ֥ינָה (will be set on edge) שִׁנָּֽיו׃ס (his teeth).

31  הִנֵּ֛ה (Behold), יָמִ֥ים (the days) בָּאִ֖ים (are coming), נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָ֑ה (of YHWH),

וְכָרַתִּ֗י (when I will cut) אֶת־ (with) בֵּ֧ית (the house)

יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל (of Israel), וְאֶת־ (and with) בֵּ֥ית (the house)

יְהוּדָ֖ה (of Judah), בְּרִ֥ית (a covenant) חֲדָשָֽׁה׃ (new).

32  לֹ֣א (Not) כַבְּרִ֗ית (according to the covenant)

אֲשֶׁ֤ר (that) כָּרַ֙תִּי֙ (I made) אֶת־ (with) אֲבוֹתָ֔ם (their fathers)

בְּיוֹם֙ (in the day) הֶחֱזִיקִ֣י (I took them) בְיָדָ֔ם (by the hand)

לְהוֹצִיאָ֖ם (to bring them out) מֵאֶ֖רֶץ (of the land) מִצְרָ֑יִם (of Egypt);

אֲשֶׁר־ (in that) הֵ֜מָּה (they) הֵפֵ֣רוּ (broke), אֶת־ (-) בְּרִיתִ֗י (My covenant)

וְאָנֹכִ֛י (and I) בָּעַ֥לְתִּי (was a husband) בָ֖ם (to them)

נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH).

33  כִּ֣י (For) זֹ֣את (this is) הַבְּרִ֡ית (the covenant) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) אֶכְרֹת֩ (I will make) אֶת־ (with) בֵּ֨ית (the house) יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל (of Israel);

אַחֲרֵ֨י (after) הַיָּמִ֤ים (days), הָהֵם֙ (those) נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH),

נָתַ֤תִּי (I will give) אֶת־ (-) תּֽוֹרָתִי֙ (My law) בְּקִרְבָּ֔ם (in their inward parts),

וְעַל־ (upon) לִבָּ֖ם (their hearts); אֶכְתֲּבֶ֑נָּה (and I will write it)

וְהָיִ֤יתִי (and I will be) לָהֶם֙ (their) לֵֽאלֹהִ֔ים (God),

וְהֵ֖מָּה (and they) יִֽהְיוּ־ (will be) לִ֥י (My) לְעָֽם׃ (people).

34  וְלֹ֧א (No) יְלַמְּד֣וּ (and they will teach) ע֗וֹד (more) אִ֣ישׁ (every man) אֶת־ (-) רֵעֵ֜הוּ (his neighbor), וְאִ֤ישׁ (and every man) אֶת־ (-) אָחִיו֙ (his brother),

לֵאמֹ֔ר (saying), דְּע֖וּ (Know) אֶת־ (-) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH);

כִּֽי־ (for) כוּלָּם֩ (all of them) יֵדְע֨וּ (will know) אוֹתִ֜י (Me)

לְמִקְטַנָּ֤ם (from the least of them) וְעַד־ (and to) גְּדוֹלָם֙ (the greatest of them) נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָ֔ה (of YHWH),

כִּ֤י (for) אֶסְלַח֙ (I will forgive) לַֽעֲוֺנָ֔ם (their iniquity),

וּלְחַטָּאתָ֖ם (their sin) לֹ֥א (no) אֶזְכָּר־ (and I will remember) עֽוֹד׃ס (more).

35  כֹּ֣ה׀ (Thus) אָמַ֣ר (says) יְהוָ֗ה (YHWH), נֹתֵ֥ן (who gives) שֶׁ֙מֶשׁ֙ (the sun) לְא֣וֹר (for a light) יוֹמָ֔ם (by day), חֻקֹּ֛ת (and the ordinances) יָרֵ֥חַ (of the moon) וְכוֹכָבִ֖ים (and the stars) לְא֣וֹר (for a light) לָ֑יְלָה (by night), רֹגַ֤ע (who stirs up) הַיָּם֙ (the sea) וַיֶּהֱמ֣וּ (roar); גַלָּ֔יו (when its waves) יְהוָ֥ה (YHWH of) צְבָא֖וֹת (Hosts) שְׁמֽוֹ׃ (is His name);

36  אִם־ (If) יָמֻ֜שׁוּ (depart) הַחֻקִּ֥ים (ordinances) הָאֵ֛לֶּה (these) מִלְּפָנַ֖י (from before Me)

נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָ֑ה (of YHWH),

גַּם֩ (even) זֶ֨רַע (the seed) יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל (of Israel) יִשְׁבְּת֗וּ (will cease) מִֽהְי֥וֹת (from being) גּ֛וֹי (a nation)

לְפָנַ֖י (before Me) כָּל־ (all) הַיָּמִֽים׃ס (the days).

37  כֹּ֣ה׀ (Thus) אָמַ֣ר (says) יְהוָ֗ה (YHWH);

אִם־ (If) יִמַּ֤דּוּ (could be measured), שָׁמַ֙יִם֙ (the heavens) מִלְמַ֔עְלָה (above)

וְיֵחָקְר֥וּ (searched out) מֽוֹסְדֵי־ (and the foundations) אֶ֖רֶץ (of the earth) לְמָ֑טָּה (below),

גַּם־ (then also) אֲנִ֞י (I) אֶמְאַ֨ס (will cast off) בְּכָל־ (all) זֶ֧רַע (the seed) יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל (of Israel)

עַֽל־ (for) כָּל־ (all) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (that) עָשׂ֖וּ (they have done),

נְאֻם־ (a declaration) יְהוָֽה׃ס (of YHWH).

38  הִנֵּ֛ה (Behold), יָמִ֥יםִָּ֖ (the days) נְאֻם־ (declares) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH), וְנִבְנְתָ֤ה (Will be built) הָעִיר֙ (that the city) לַֽיהוָ֔ה (for YHWH) מִמִּגְדַּ֥ל (from the Tower) חֲנַנְאֵ֖ל (of Hananel) שַׁ֥עַר (to the Gate) הַפִּנָּֽה׃ (of the Corner). 39  וְיָצָ֨א (Will go) ע֜וֹד (again) קְוֵה (line) הַמִּדָּה֙ (And the measuring) נֶגְדּ֔וֹ (straight) עַ֖ל (over) גִּבְעַ֣ת (the hill) גָּרֵ֑ב (Gareb), וְנָסַ֖ב (and then turn) גֹּעָֽתָה׃ (toward Goah). 40  וְכָל־ (And all) הָעֵ֣מֶק (the valley) הַפְּגָרִ֣ים׀ (of the carcasses), וְהַדֶּ֡שֶׁן (and the ashes), וְכָֽל־ (and all) הַשְּׁרֵמוֹת (the fields) עַד־ (as far as) נַ֨חַל (the Valley) קִדְר֜וֹן (of Kidron), עַד־ (to) פִּנַּ֨ת (the corner) שַׁ֤עַר (of the Gate) הַסּוּסִים֙ (of the Horse) מִזְרָ֔חָה (toward the east), קֹ֖דֶשׁ (are holy) לַֽיהוָ֑ה (unto YHWH); לֹֽא־ (not) יִנָּתֵ֧שׁ (it will be plucked up), וְֽלֹא־ (and not) יֵהָרֵ֛ס (thrown down) ע֖וֹד (anymore) לְעוֹלָֽם׃ס (forever).
