1 One afternoon Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, <i>being</i> the ninth <i>hour</i>. Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the ninth <i>hour,</i> the hour of prayer. One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon.
2 And a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those entering the temple courts. And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple. And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; And a man who had been unable to walk from birth was being carried, whom they used to set down every day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, in order <i>for him</i> to beg for charitable gifts from those entering the temple <i>grounds.</i> Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.
3 When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. When he saw Peter and John about to go into the temple <i>grounds,</i> he <i>began</i> asking to receive a charitable gift. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.
4 Peter looked directly at him, as did John. “Look at us! said Peter. And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, “Look at us.” And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. But Peter, along with John, looked at him intently and said, “Look at us!” Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!”
5 So the man gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. And he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.
6 But Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk! But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!” Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. But Peter said, “I do not have silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, walk!” Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”
7 Taking him by the right hand, Peter helped him up, and at once the man’s feet and ankles were made strong. And he took him by the right hand and raised him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted <i>him</i> up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength. And grasping him by the right hand, he raised him up; and immediately his feet and his ankles were strengthened. Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong.
8 He sprang to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and leaping and praising God. And leaping up, he stood and began to walk, and entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. And leaping up, he stood and <i>began</i> to walk; and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.
9 When all the people saw him walking and praising God, And all the people saw him walking and praising God, And all the people saw him walking and praising God: And all the people saw him walking and praising God; When all the people saw him walking and praising God,
10 they recognized him as the man who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. and recognized him as the one who sat at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, asking for alms. And they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. and they recognized him as being the very one who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the temple <i>to beg</i> for charitable gifts, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.
11 While the man clung to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and ran to them in the walkway called Solomon’s Colonnade. While he clung to Peter and John, all the people, utterly astounded, ran together to them in the portico called Solomon’s. And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. While he was clinging to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them at the portico named Solomon’s, completely astonished. While the man held on to Peter and John, all the people were astonished and came running to them in the place called Solomon’s Colonnade.
12 And when Peter saw this, he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why are you surprised by this? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? And when Peter saw it he addressed the people: “Men of Israel, why do you wonder at this, or why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or piety we have made him walk? And when Peter saw <i>it</i>, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? But when Peter saw <i>this,</i> he replied to the people, “Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this, or why are you staring at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made him walk? When Peter saw this, he said to them: “Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?
13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus. You handed Him over and rejected Him before Pilate, even though he had decided to release Him. The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified his servant Jesus, whom you delivered over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release him. The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let <i>him</i> go. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, <i>the one</i> whom you handed over and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release <i>Him.</i> The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. 14 You rejected the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you. But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; But you disowned the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked that a murderer be released to you.
15 You killed the Author of life, but God raised Him from the dead, and we are witnesses of the fact. and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses. And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. but put to death the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, <i>a fact</i> to which we are witnesses. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.
16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know has been made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through Him that has given him this complete healing in your presence. And his name—by faith in his name—has made this man strong whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all. And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. And on the basis of faith in His name, <i>it is</i> the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which <i>comes</i> through Him has given him this perfect health in the presence of you all. By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.
17 And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders. “And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers. And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did <i>it</i>, as <i>did</i> also your rulers. “And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your rulers also did. “Now, fellow Israelites, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders.
18 But in this way God has fulfilled what He foretold through all the prophets, saying that His Christ would suffer. But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer, he thus fulfilled. But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. But the things which God previously announced by the mouths of all the prophets, that His Christ would suffer, He has fulfilled in this way. But this is how God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, saying that his Messiah would suffer.
19 Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away, Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
20 that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed for you. that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus, And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus.
21 Heaven must take Him in until the time comes for the restoration of all things, which God announced long ago through His holy prophets. whom heaven must receive until the time for restoring all the things about which God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets long ago. Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. whom heaven must receive until <i>the</i> period of restoration of all things, about which God spoke by the mouths of His holy prophets from ancient times. Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.
22 For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to Him in everything He tells you. Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. Moses said, ‘THE LORD GOD WILL RAISE UP FOR YOU A PROPHET LIKE ME FROM YOUR COUNTRYMEN; TO HIM YOU SHALL LISTEN regarding everything He says to you. For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.
23 Everyone who does not listen to Him will be completely cut off from among his people. And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people.’ And it shall come to pass, <i>that</i> every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. And it shall be that every soul that does not listen to that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.’
24 Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel on, as many as have spoken, have proclaimed these days. And all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. And likewise, all the prophets who have spoken from Samuel and <i>his</i> successors <i>onward,</i> have also announced these days. “Indeed, beginning with Samuel, all the prophets who have spoken have foretold these days.
25 And you are sons of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers when He said to Abraham, ‘ Through your offspring all the families of the earth will be blessed.’ You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’ Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. It is you who are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant which God ordained with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘AND IN YOUR SEED ALL THE FAMILIES OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED.’ And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, ‘Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.’
26 When God raised up His Servant, He sent Him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways. God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.” Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. God raised up His Servant for you first, and sent Him to bless you by turning every one <i>of you</i> from your wicked ways.” When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
