| 2"This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. | 2"This month is to be your beginning of months; it will be your first month of the year. |
| 3Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household. | 3Tell the whole community of Israel, 'In the tenth day of this month they each must take a lamb for themselves according to their families--a lamb for each household. |
| 4If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. | 24"Obey these instructions as a lasting ordinance for you and your descendants. | 24You must observe this event as an ordinance for you and for your children forever. |
