4	And he went away, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might deliver him unto them. 11	And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guest-chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?	and tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’	and say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’
12	And he will shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.	And he will show you a large upper room furnished; prepare it there.”	He will show you a large room upstairs, all furnished. Make preparations there.”
13	And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.	And they went and found it just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.	They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover.
14	And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the apostles with him.	And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him.	When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table.
15	And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:	And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.	And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
16	for I say unto you, I will not eat it, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.	For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”	For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.”
17	And he received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:	And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves.	After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you.
18	for I say unto you, I will not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. 19	And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 21	But behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.	But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.	But the hand of him who is going to betray me is with mine on the table.
22	For the Son of man indeed goeth, as it hath been determined: but woe unto that man through whom he is betrayed!	For the Son of Man goes as it has been determined, but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!”	The Son of Man will go as it has been decreed. But woe to that man who betrays him!”
23	And they began to question among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.	And they began to question one another, which of them it could be who was going to do this.	They began to question among themselves which of them it might be who would do this.
24	And there arose also a contention among them, which of them is accounted to be greatest.	A dispute also arose among them, as to which of them was to be regarded as the greatest.	A dispute also arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest.
25	And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles have lordship over them; and they that have authority over them are called Benefactors. 26	But ye shall not be so: but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.	But not so with you. Rather, let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves.	But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves.
27	For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am in the midst of you as he that serveth.	For who is the greater, one who reclines at table or one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at table? But I am among you as the one who serves.	For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.
28	But ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations;	“You are those who have stayed with me in my trials,	You are those who have stood by me in my trials.
29	and I appoint unto you a kingdom, even as my Father appointed unto me,	and I assign to you, as my Father assigned to me, a kingdom,	And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me,
30	that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.	that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.	so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

33	And he said unto him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.	Peter said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death.”	But he replied, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.”
34	And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, until thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.	Jesus said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow this day, until you deny three times that you know me.”	Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.”
35	And he said unto them, When I sent you forth without purse, and wallet, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.	And he said to them, “When I sent you out with no moneybag or knapsack or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”	Then Jesus asked them, “When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” “Nothing,” they answered.
36	And he said unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet: and he that hath none, let him sell his cloke, and buy a sword.	He said to them, “But now let the one who has a moneybag take it, and likewise a knapsack. And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.	He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.
37	For I say unto you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, And he was reckoned with transgressors: for that which concerneth me hath fulfillment.	For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in me: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors.’ For what is written about me has its fulfillment.”	It is written: ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors’; and I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is reaching its fulfillment.”
38	And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.	And they said, “Look, Lord, here are two swords.” And he said to them, “It is enough.”	The disciples said, “See, Lord, here are two swords.” “That’s enough!” he replied.
39	And he came out, and went, as his custom was, unto the mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed him.	And he came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed him.	Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him.
40	And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.	And when he came to the place, he said to them, “Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”	On reaching the place, he said to them, “Pray that you will not fall into temptation.”
41	And he was parted from them about a stone's cast; and he kneeled down and prayed,	And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed,	He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed,
42	saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.	saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”	“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
43	And there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.	And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.	An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.
44	And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat became as it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground. 46	and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.	and he said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”	“Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”
47	While he yet spake, behold, a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them; and he drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.	While he was still speaking, there came a crowd, and the man called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He drew near to Jesus to kiss him,	While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him,
48	But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?	but Jesus said to him, “Judas, would you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”	but Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
49	And when they that were about him saw what would follow, they said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?	And when those who were around him saw what would follow, they said, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”	When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?”
50	And a certain one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his right ear.	And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear.	And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.
51	But Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.	But Jesus said, “No more of this!” And he touched his ear and healed him.	But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.
52	And Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and elders, which were come against him, Are ye come out, as against a robber, with swords and staves?	Then Jesus said to the chief priests and officers of the temple and elders, who had come out against him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?	Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders, who had come for him, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs?
53	When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched not forth your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.	When I was with you day after day in the temple, you did not lay hands on me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”	Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour—when darkness reigns.”
54	And they seized him, and led him away, and brought him into the high priest's house. But Peter followed afar off.	Then they seized him and led him away, bringing him into the high priest’s house, and Peter was following at a distance.	Then seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest. Peter followed at a distance.
55	And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat in the midst of them. 56	And a certain maid seeing him as he sat in the light of the fire, and looking stedfastly upon him, said, This man also was with him.	Then a servant girl, seeing him as he sat in the light and looking closely at him, said, “This man also was with him.”	A servant girl saw him seated there in the firelight. She looked closely at him and said, “This man was with him.”
57	But he denied, saying, Woman, I know him not.	But he denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.”	But he denied it. “Woman, I don’t know him,” he said.
58	And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou also art one of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.	And a little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.”	A little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” “Man, I am not!” Peter replied.
59	And after the space of about one hour another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this man also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.	And after an interval of about an hour still another insisted, saying, “Certainly this man also was with him, for he too is a Galilean.”	About an hour later another asserted, “Certainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean.”
60	But Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.	But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.	Peter replied, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed.
61	And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said unto him, Before the cock crow this day, thou shalt deny me thrice.	And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the saying of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.”	The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.”
62	And he went out, and wept bitterly.	And he went out and wept bitterly.	And he went outside and wept bitterly.
63	And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and beat him.	Now the men who were holding Jesus in custody were mocking him as they beat him.	The men who were guarding Jesus began mocking and beating him.
64	And they blindfolded him, and asked him, saying, Prophesy: who is he that struck thee?	They also blindfolded him and kept asking him, “Prophesy! Who is it that struck you?”	They blindfolded him and demanded, “Prophesy! Who hit you?”
65	And many other things spake they against him, reviling him.	And they said many other things against him, blaspheming him.	And they said many other insulting things to him.
66	And as soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led him away into their council, saying,	When day came, the assembly of the elders of the people gathered together, both chief priests and scribes. And they led him away to their council, and they said,	At daybreak the council of the elders of the people, both the chief priests and the teachers of the law, met together, and Jesus was led before them.
67	If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:	“If you are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe,	“If you are the Messiah,” they said, “tell us.” Jesus answered, “If I tell you, you will not believe me,
68	and if I ask you, ye will not answer.	and if I ask you, you will not answer.	and if I asked you, you would not answer.
69	But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.	But from now on the Son of Man shall be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”	But from now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the mighty God.”
70	And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.	So they all said, “Are you the Son of God, then?” And he said to them, “You say that I am.”	They all asked, “Are you then the Son of God?” He replied, “You say that I am.”
71	And they said, What further need have we of witness? for we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.	Then they said, “What further testimony do we need? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips.”	Then they said, “Why do we need any more testimony? We have heard it from his own lips.”
