The Guilt Offering
(Leviticus 5:14–19; Leviticus 6:1–7)

1  וְזֹ֥את (And this) תּוֹרַ֖ת (is the law) הָאָשָׁ֑ם (of the guilt offering); קֹ֥דֶשׁ (holy) קָֽדָשִׁ֖ים (of holies) הֽוּא׃ (it is). 2  בִּמְק֗וֹם (In the place) אֲשֶׁ֤ר (where) יִשְׁחֲטוּ֙ (they slaughter) אֶת־ (-) הָ֣עֹלָ֔ה (the burnt offering), יִשְׁחֲט֖וּ (they shall slaughter) אֶת־ (-) הָאָשָׁ֑ם (the guilt offering); וְאֶת־ (and) דָּמ֛וֹ (its blood) יִזְרֹ֥ק (shall he sprinkle) עַל־ (on) הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ (the altar) סָבִֽיב׃ (all around). 3  וְאֵ֥ת (And) כָּל־ (all) חֶלְבּ֖וֹ (its fat) יַקְרִ֣יב (he shall bring near) מִמֶּ֑נּוּ (from it) אֵ֚ת (-) הָֽאַלְיָ֔ה (the fat tail), וְאֶת־ (and) הַחֵ֖לֶב (the fat) הַֽמְכַסֶּ֥ה (that is covering) אֶת־ (-) הַקֶּֽרֶב׃ (the entrails), 4  וְאֵת֙ (and) שְׁתֵּ֣י (two) הַכְּלָיֹ֔ת (the kidneys), וְאֶת־ (and) הַחֵ֙לֶב֙ (the fat) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that is) עֲלֵיהֶ֔ן (on them) אֲשֶׁ֖ר (that is) עַל־ (on) הַכְּסָלִ֑ים (the flanks), וְאֶת־ (and) הַיֹּתֶ֙רֶת֙ (the lobe) עַל־ (of) הַכָּבֵ֔ד (the liver) עַל־ (above) הַכְּלָיֹ֖ת (the kidneys) יְסִירֶֽנָּה׃ (he shall remove). 5  וְהִקְטִ֨יר (And shall burn) אֹתָ֤ם (them) הַכֹּהֵן֙ (the priest) הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חָה (on the altar) אִשֶּׁ֖ה (a fire offering) לַיהוָ֑ה (to YHWH); אָשָׁ֖ם (a guilt offering) הֽוּא׃ (it is). 6  כָּל־ (Every) זָכָ֥ר (male) בַּכֹּהֲנִ֖ים (among the priests) יֹאכְלֶ֑נּוּ (may eat it). בְּמָק֤וֹם (In a place) קָדוֹשׁ֙ (holy) יֵאָכֵ֔ל (it shall be eaten); קֹ֥דֶשׁ (holy) קָֽדָשִׁ֖ים (of holies) הֽוּא׃ (it is).

7  כַּֽחַטָּאת֙ (Like the sin offering) כָּֽאָשָׁ֔ם (like the guilt offering); תּוֹרָ֥ה (law) אַחַ֖ת (one) לָהֶ֑ם (is for them). הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (The priest) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (who) יְכַפֶּר־ (makes atonement) בּ֖וֹ (with it), ל֥וֹ (unto him) יִהְיֶֽה׃ (it shall be). 8  וְהַ֨כֹּהֵ֔ן (And the priest) הַמַּקְרִ֖יב (who brings near) אֶת־ (-) עֹ֣לַת (a burnt offering) אִ֑ישׁ (of a man), ע֤וֹר (the skin) הָֽעֹלָה֙ (of the burnt offering) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) הִקְרִ֔יב (he has brought near), לַכֹּהֵ֖ן (for the priest) ל֥וֹ (for him) יִהְיֶֽה׃ (it is). 9  וְכָל־ (And every) מִנְחָ֗ה (grain offering) אֲשֶׁ֤ר (that) תֵּֽאָפֶה֙ (is baked) בַּתַּנּ֔וּר (in the oven), וְכָל־ (and all) נַעֲשָׂ֥ה (that is made) בַמַּרְחֶ֖שֶׁת (in the pan) וְעַֽל־ (or on) מַחֲבַ֑ת (a griddle) לַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) הַמַּקְרִ֥יב (who brings near) אֹתָ֖הּ (it), ל֥וֹ (for him) תִֽהְיֶֽה׃ (it shall be). 10  וְכָל־ (And every) מִנְחָ֥ה (grain offering), בְלוּלָֽה־ (mixed) בַשֶּׁ֖מֶן (with the oil) וַחֲרֵבָ֑ה (or dry), לְכָל־ (for all) בְּנֵ֧י (sons) אַהֲרֹ֛ן (of Aaron) תִּהְיֶ֖ה (shall it belong), אִ֥ישׁ (each man) כְּאָחִֽיו׃פ (like his brother).

The Peace Offering
(Leviticus 3:1–17)

11  וְזֹ֥את (And this) תּוֹרַ֖ת (is the law) זֶ֣בַח (of the sacrifice) הַשְּׁלָמִ֑ים (of peace offerings) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (that) יַקְרִ֖יב (he shall bring near) לַיהוָֽה׃ (to YHWH): 12  אִ֣ם (If) עַל־ (for) תּוֹדָה֮ (thanksgiving) יַקְרִיבֶנּוּ֒ (he brings it near), וְהִקְרִ֣יב׀ (then he shall bring it near) עַל־ (with) זֶ֣בַח (the sacrifice) הַתּוֹדָ֗ה (of thanksgiving) חַלּ֤וֹת (cakes) מַצּוֹת֙ (unleavened) בְּלוּלֹ֣ת (mixed) בַּשֶּׁ֔מֶן (with the oil), וּרְקִיקֵ֥י (and wafers) מַצּ֖וֹת (unleavened) מְשֻׁחִ֣ים (anointed) בַּשָּׁ֑מֶן (with the oil), וְסֹ֣לֶת (and of fine flour) מֻרְבֶּ֔כֶת (well-mixed) חַלֹּ֖ת (cakes) בְּלוּלֹ֥ת (mixed) בַּשָּֽׁמֶן׃ (with the oil).

13  עַל־ (Upon) חַלֹּת֙ (the cakes), לֶ֣חֶם (bread) חָמֵ֔ץ (leavened) יַקְרִ֖יב (he shall bring near) קָרְבָּנ֑וֹ (as his offering) עַל־ (with) זֶ֖בַח (the sacrifice) תּוֹדַ֥ת (of thanksgiving) שְׁלָמָֽיו׃ (of his peace offerings). 14  וְהִקְרִ֨יב (And he shall bring near) מִמֶּ֤נּוּ (from it) אֶחָד֙ (one cake) מִכָּל־ (from each) קָרְבָּ֔ן (offering) תְּרוּמָ֖ה (a contribution) לַיהוָ֑ה (to YHWH). לַכֹּהֵ֗ן (For the priest) הַזֹּרֵ֛ק (who sprinkles) אֶת־ (-) דַּ֥ם (the blood) הַשְּׁלָמִ֖ים (of the peace offerings), ל֥וֹ (for him) יִהְיֶֽה׃ (it shall be). 15  וּבְשַׂ֗ר (And the flesh) זֶ֚בַח (of the sacrifice) תּוֹדַ֣ת (of thanksgiving) שְׁלָמָ֔יו (of his peace offering), בְּי֥וֹם (on the day) קָרְבָּנ֖וֹ (of its offering) יֵאָכֵ֑ל (it shall be eaten); לֹֽא־ (not) יַנִּ֥יחַ (he shall leave) מִמֶּ֖נּוּ (from it) עַד־ (until) בֹּֽקֶר׃ (morning).

16  וְאִם־ (And if) נֶ֣דֶר׀ (a vow) א֣וֹ (or) נְדָבָ֗ה (a freewill offering) זֶ֚בַח (is the sacrifice) קָרְבָּנ֔וֹ (of his offering), בְּי֛וֹם (in the day) הַקְרִיב֥וֹ (of his bringing near) אֶת־ (-) זִבְח֖וֹ (his sacrifice) יֵאָכֵ֑ל (it shall be eaten); וּמִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת (and on the next day) וְהַנּוֹתָ֥ר (the remainder) מִמֶּ֖נּוּ (of it) יֵאָכֵֽל׃ (may be eaten); 17  וְהַנּוֹתָ֖ר (and the remainder) מִבְּשַׂ֣ר (from the flesh) הַזָּ֑בַח (of the sacrifice) בַּיּוֹם֙ (in the day) הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י (the third) בָּאֵ֖שׁ (in the fire) יִשָּׂרֵֽף׃ (must be burned). 18  וְאִ֣ם (And if) הֵאָכֹ֣ל (being eaten) יֵ֠אָכֵל (is eaten) מִבְּשַׂר־ (from the flesh) זֶ֨בַח (of the sacrifice) שְׁלָמָ֜יו (of his peace offerings) בַּיּ֣וֹם (in the day) הַשְּׁלִישִׁי֮ (the third), לֹ֣א (not) יֵרָצֶה֒ (shall it be accepted) הַמַּקְרִ֣יב (for who is bringing it near) אֹת֗וֹ (him), לֹ֧א (nor) יֵחָשֵׁ֛ב (shall it be reckoned) ל֖וֹ (to him). פִּגּ֣וּל (An abomination) יִהְיֶ֑ה (it shall be), וְהַנֶּ֛פֶשׁ (and the soul) הָאֹכֶ֥לֶת (who eats) מִמֶּ֖נּוּ (from it), עֲוֺנָ֥הּ (his iniquity) תִּשָּֽׂא׃ (shall bear).

19  וְהַבָּשָׂ֞ר (And the flesh) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) יִגַּ֤ע (touches) בְּכָל־ (any) טָמֵא֙ (unclean thing) לֹ֣א (not) יֵֽאָכֵ֔ל (shall be eaten); בָּאֵ֖שׁ (in the fire) יִשָּׂרֵ֑ף (it shall be burned). וְהַ֨בָּשָׂ֔ר (And the flesh), כָּל־ (every) טָה֖וֹר (clean one) יֹאכַ֥ל (shall eat) בָּשָֽׂר׃ (flesh). 20  וְהַנֶּ֜פֶשׁ (And the soul) אֲשֶׁר־ (who) תֹּאכַ֣ל (eats) בָּשָׂ֗ר (the flesh) מִזֶּ֤בַח (from the sacrifice) הַשְּׁלָמִים֙ (of the peace offerings) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that is) לַיהוָ֔ה (to YHWH), וְטֻמְאָת֖וֹ (and his uncleanness) עָלָ֑יו (is on him), וְנִכְרְתָ֛ה (and shall be cut off) הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ (the soul) הַהִ֖וא (of that) מֵעַמֶּֽיהָ׃ (from his people). 21  וְנֶ֜פֶשׁ (And a soul) כִּֽי־ (if) תִגַּ֣ע (he touches) בְּכָל־ (any) טָמֵ֗א (unclean thing) בְּטֻמְאַ֤ת (of the uncleanness) אָדָם֙ (of man), א֣וֹ׀ (or) בִּבְהֵמָ֣ה (for an animal) טְמֵאָ֗ה (unclean), א֚וֹ (or) בְּכָל־ (for any) שֶׁ֣קֶץ (abomination) טָמֵ֔א (unclean), וְאָכַ֛ל (and he eats) מִבְּשַׂר־ (from the flesh) זֶ֥בַח (of the sacrifice) הַשְּׁלָמִ֖ים (of the peace offerings) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that is) לַיהוָ֑ה (to YHWH), וְנִכְרְתָ֛ה (then shall be cut off) הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ (the soul) הַהִ֖וא (that) מֵעַמֶּֽיהָ׃פ (from his people).

Fat and Blood Forbidden

22  וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר (And spoke) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֶל־ (to) מֹשֶׁ֥ה (Moses), לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (saying), 23  דַּבֵּ֛ר (Speak) אֶל־ (to) בְּנֵ֥י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל (of Israel), לֵאמֹ֑ר (saying), כָּל־ (Any) חֵ֜לֶב (fat) שׁ֥וֹר (of an ox), וְכֶ֛שֶׂב (or sheep), וָעֵ֖ז (or goat), לֹ֥א (not) תֹאכֵֽלוּ׃ (you⁺ shall eat). 24  וְחֵ֤לֶב (And the fat) נְבֵלָה֙ (of a carcass), וְחֵ֣לֶב (and the fat) טְרֵפָ֔ה (of a torn thing), יֵעָשֶׂ֖ה (may be used) לְכָל־ (for any) מְלָאכָ֑ה (work), וְאָכֹ֖ל (and eating) לֹ֥א (not) תֹאכְלֻֽהוּ׃ (you⁺ shall eat it).

25  כִּ֚י (For) כָּל־ (anyone) אֹכֵ֣ל (eating) חֵ֔לֶב (fat) מִן־ (from) הַ֨בְּהֵמָ֔ה (the beast), אֲשֶׁ֨ר (of which) יַקְרִ֥יב (he brings near) מִמֶּ֛נָּה (-) אִשֶּׁ֖ה (a fire offering) לַיהוָ֑ה (to YHWH), וְנִכְרְתָ֛ה (then shall be cut off) הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ (the soul) הָאֹכֶ֖לֶת (eating) מֵֽעַמֶּֽיהָ׃ (from his people). 26  וְכָל־ (And any) דָּם֙ (blood) לֹ֣א (not) תֹאכְל֔וּ (you⁺ shall eat) בְּכֹ֖ל (in any) מוֹשְׁבֹתֵיכֶ֑ם (of your⁺ dwellings), לָע֖וֹף (of the bird) וְלַבְּהֵמָֽה׃ (and of the beast). 27  כָּל־ (Any) נֶ֖פֶשׁ (soul) אֲשֶׁר־ (who) תֹּאכַ֣ל (eats) כָּל־ (any) דָּ֑ם (blood), וְנִכְרְתָ֛ה (then shall be cut off) הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ (the soul) הַהִ֖וא (that) מֵֽעַמֶּֽיהָ׃פ (from his people).

The Priests’ Portion

28  וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר (And spoke) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֶל־ (to) מֹשֶׁ֥ה (Moses), לֵּאמֹֽר׃ (saying), 29  דַּבֵּ֛ר (Speak) אֶל־ (to) בְּנֵ֥י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל (of Israel), לֵאמֹ֑ר (saying), הַמַּקְרִ֞יב (He who is bringing near) אֶת־ (-) זֶ֤בַח (the sacrifice) שְׁלָמָיו֙ (of his peace offerings) לַיהוָ֔ה (to YHWH) יָבִ֧יא (shall bring) אֶת־ (-) קָרְבָּנ֛וֹ (his offering) לַיהוָ֖ה (to YHWH), מִזֶּ֥בַח (from the sacrifice) שְׁלָמָֽיו׃ (of his peace offerings). 30  יָדָ֣יו (His hands) תְּבִיאֶ֔ינָה (shall bring) אֵ֖ת (-) אִשֵּׁ֣י (fire offerings) יְהוָ֑ה (to YHWH). אֶת־ (-) הַחֵ֤לֶב (the fat) עַל־ (upon) הֶֽחָזֶה֙ (the breast) יְבִיאֶ֔נּוּ (he shall bring) אֵ֣ת (with), הֶחָזֶ֗ה (the breast) לְהָנִ֥יף (to wave) אֹת֛וֹ (it) תְּנוּפָ֖ה (as a wave offering) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face) יְהוָֽה׃ (of YHWH).

31  וְהִקְטִ֧יר (And shall burn) הַכֹּהֵ֛ן (the priest) אֶת־ (-) הַחֵ֖לֶב (the fat) הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חָה (on the altar), וְהָיָה֙ (and shall be) הֶֽחָזֶ֔ה (the breast) לְאַהֲרֹ֖ן (for Aaron) וּלְבָנָֽיו׃ (and for his sons). 32  וְאֵת֙ (And) שׁ֣וֹק (the thigh) הַיָּמִ֔ין (right) תִּתְּנ֥וּ (you⁺ shall give) תְרוּמָ֖ה (as a contribution) לַכֹּהֵ֑ן (to the priest) מִזִּבְחֵ֖י (from the sacrifices) שַׁלְמֵיכֶֽם׃ (of your⁺ peace offerings). 33  הַמַּקְרִ֞יב (He who brings near) אֶת־ (-) דַּ֧ם (the blood) הַשְּׁלָמִ֛ים (of the peace offerings) וְאֶת־ (and) הַחֵ֖לֶב (the fat) מִבְּנֵ֣י (from the sons) אַהֲרֹ֑ן (of Aaron), ל֧וֹ (to him) תִהְיֶ֛ה (shall be) שׁ֥וֹק (the thigh) הַיָּמִ֖ין (right) לְמָנָֽה׃ (for a portion).

34  כִּי֩ (For) אֶת־ (-) חֲזֵ֨ה (the breast) הַתְּנוּפָ֜ה (of the wave offering) וְאֵ֣ת׀ (and) שׁ֣וֹק (the thigh) הַתְּרוּמָ֗ה (of the contribution) לָקַ֙חְתִּי֙ (I have taken) מֵאֵ֣ת (from) בְּנֵֽי־ (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel) מִזִּבְחֵ֖י (from the sacrifices) שַׁלְמֵיהֶ֑ם (of their peace offerings), וָאֶתֵּ֣ן (and I have given) אֹ֠תָם (them) לְאַהֲרֹ֨ן (to Aaron) הַכֹּהֵ֤ן (the priest) וּלְבָנָיו֙ (and to his sons) לְחָק־ (for a statute) עוֹלָ֔ם (everlasting) מֵאֵ֖ת (from) בְּנֵ֥י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (of Israel).

35  זֹ֣את (This) מִשְׁחַ֤ת (is the anointing portion) אַהֲרֹן֙ (of Aaron) וּמִשְׁחַ֣ת (and) בָּנָ֔יו (his sons) מֵאִשֵּׁ֖י (from the fire offerings) יְהוָ֑ה (to YHWH) בְּיוֹם֙ (on the day) הִקְרִ֣יב (Moses presented) אֹתָ֔ם (them) לְכַהֵ֖ן (to minister as priests) לַיהוָֽה׃ (to YHWH). 36  אֲשֶׁר֩ (Which) צִוָּ֨ה (commanded) יְהוָ֜ה (YHWH) לָתֵ֣ת (to give) לָהֶ֗ם (to them) בְּיוֹם֙ (on the day) מָשְׁח֣וֹ (of his anointing) אֹתָ֔ם (them) מֵאֵ֖ת (from) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (of Israel) חֻקַּ֥ת (a statute) עוֹלָ֖ם (everlasting) לְדֹרֹתָֽם׃ (throughout their generations).

37  זֹ֣את (This is) הַתּוֹרָ֗ה (the law) לָֽעֹלָה֙ (for the burnt offering), לַמִּנְחָ֔ה (for the grain offering), וְלַֽחַטָּ֖את (and for the sin offering), וְלָאָשָׁ֑ם (and for the guilt offering), וְלַ֨מִּלּוּאִ֔ים (and for the ordination offerings), וּלְזֶ֖בַח (and for the sacrifice) הַשְּׁלָמִֽים׃ (of the peace offerings), 38  אֲשֶׁ֨ר (which) צִוָּ֧ה (commanded) יְהוָ֛ה (YHWH) אֶת־ (-) מֹשֶׁ֖ה (Moses) בְּהַ֣ר (on Mount) סִינָ֑י (Sinai), בְּי֨וֹם (on the day) צַוֺּת֜וֹ (of His commanding) אֶת־ (-) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל (of Israel) לְהַקְרִ֧יב (to bring near) אֶת־ (-) קָרְבְּנֵיהֶ֛ם (their offerings) לַיהוָ֖ה (to YHWH) בְּמִדְבַּ֥ר (in the Wilderness) סִינָֽי׃פ (of Sinai).
