Daniel, having humbled himself, sees a vision.10. Being troubled with fear, he is comforted by the angel. (12) From the first day.--The meaning appears to be that this vision was vouchsafed to him in consequence of his prayer to understand what would befal his people in the future. Daniel 9:20) as to the answer being ready even while the petition was being put up. And I am come for thy words. Professor Fuller sees in this an additional tenderness.
