καὶ ἔλεγον πρὸς ἑαυτάς Τίς ἀποκυλίσει ἡμῖν τὸν λίθον ἐκ τῆς θύρας τοῦ μνημείου And they were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?” and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”
καὶ ἀναβλέψασαι θεωροῦσιν ὅτι ἀποκεκύλισται* ὁ λίθος ἦν γὰρ μέγας σφόδρα And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back—it was very large. But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.
Καὶ εἰσελθοῦσαι εἰς τὸ μνημεῖον εἶδον νεανίσκον καθήμενον ἐν τοῖς δεξιοῖς περιβεβλημένον στολὴν λευκήν καὶ ἐξεθαμβήθησαν And entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, dressed in a white robe, and they were alarmed. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
ὁ δὲ λέγει αὐταῖς Μὴ ἐκθαμβεῖσθε Ἰησοῦν ζητεῖτε τὸν Ναζαρηνὸν τὸν ἐσταυρωμένον ἠγέρθη οὐκ ἔστιν ὧδε ἴδε ὁ τόπος ὅπου ἔθηκαν αὐτόν And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.
ἀλλὰ ὑπάγετε εἴπατε τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ καὶ τῷ Πέτρῳ ὅτι Προάγει ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν ἐκεῖ αὐτὸν ὄψεσθε καθὼς εἶπεν ὑμῖν But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.” But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
Καὶ ἐξελθοῦσαι ἔφυγον ἀπὸ τοῦ μνημείου εἶχεν γὰρ αὐτὰς τρόμος καὶ ἔκστασις καὶ οὐδενὶ οὐδὲν εἶπαν ἐφοβοῦντο γάρ And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them, and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid. Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.
«Ἀναστὰς δὲ πρωῒ πρώτῃ σαββάτου ἐφάνη πρῶτον Μαρίᾳ τῇ Μαγδαληνῇ παρ’ ἧς ἐκβεβλήκει ἑπτὰ δαιμόνια [[Now when he rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast out seven demons. 11 κἀκεῖνοι ἀκούσαντες ὅτι ζῇ καὶ ἐθεάθη ὑπ’ αὐτῆς ἠπίστησαν But when they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it. When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.
Μετὰ δὲ ταῦτα δυσὶν ἐξ αὐτῶν περιπατοῦσιν ἐφανερώθη ἐν ἑτέρᾳ μορφῇ πορευομένοις εἰς ἀγρόν After these things he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking into the country. Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country.
κἀκεῖνοι ἀπελθόντες ἀπήγγειλαν τοῖς λοιποῖς οὐδὲ ἐκείνοις ἐπίστευσαν And they went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them. These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.
