THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TABERNACLE.

(8-13) This passage follows exactly Exodus 26:1-6, the tenses of the verbs alone being changed. It relates the construction of the inner covering.

Verses 8-38. - The remainder of this chapter requires no comment, since it goes over ground already covered. The passage from ver. 8 to ver. 18 corresponds exactly with Exodus 26:1-11; that from ver. 19-34 with Exodus 26:14-29; that consisting of vers. 35, 36, with Exodus 26:33, 34; and the two concluding vers. with Exodus 26:36, 37. Under these circumstances a few mistranslations will alone be noticed.

Exodus 36:8 reveals that God equipped skilled artisans to create ten flawless curtains of fine linen, richly colored and embroidered with cherubim, forming the tabernacle’s walls. Every detail—expert craftsmanship, complete coverage, pure linen, royal hues, and angelic images—points to God’s righteous, majestic, and redemptive presence dwelling among His people, ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ who “tabernacled” with us and opened the way into God’s holy place.
