On that day the Lord will use a razor hired from beyond the Euphrates--the king of Assyria--to shave your head and the hair of your legs, and to remove your beard as well.
Look to the mountains--the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace! Celebrate your feasts, O Judah; fulfill your vows. For the wicked will never again march through you; they will be utterly cut off.

It will pour into Judah, swirling and sweeping over it, reaching up to the neck; its spreading streams will cover your entire land, O Immanuel!
But his sons will stir up strife and assemble a great army, which will advance forcefully, sweeping through like a flood, and will again carry the battle as far as his fortress.
O people in Zion, who dwell in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will surely be gracious at the sound of your cry; when He hears, He will answer you.
Thus says your Lord, the LORD, even your God, who defends His people: "See, I have removed the cup of staggering from your hand; from that goblet, the cup of My fury, you will never drink again.
No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders. But you will name your walls Salvation and your gates Praise. . . .
And the LORD answered His people: "Behold, I will send you grain, new wine, and oil. And by them you will be satisfied and I will no longer make you a reproach among the nations.
Never again will they hunger, and never will they thirst; nor will the sun beat down upon them, nor any scorching heat.
