and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. | 8and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. |
Therefore what God has joined together, man must not separate." | 9What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” |

Then come, follow Me." | 21And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” |
But he was stunned at this demand, and he went away grieving, because he had many possessions. | 22Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. |
Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, "How hard it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!" | 23And Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How difficult it will be for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!” |
But the disciples were astonished at His words. Again Jesus said to them, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! | 24And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said to them again, “Children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God! |
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God." | 25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” |

who will not receive 100 times more, now at this time--houses, brothers and sisters, mothers and children, and fields, with persecutions--and eternal life in the age to come. | 30who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life. |

But Jesus said to them, "You don't know what you're asking. Are you able to drink the cup I drink or to be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?"" | 38Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, or to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?” |
We are able," they told Him. Jesus said to them, "You will drink the cup I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with. | 39And they said to him, “We are able.” And Jesus said to them, “The cup that I drink you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized, |
But to sit at My right or left is not Mine to give; instead, it is for those it has been prepared for." | 40but to sit at my right hand or at my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared.” |
When the other 10 disciples heard this, they began to be indignant with James and John. | 41And when the ten heard it, they began to be indignant at James and John. |

But it must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, | 43But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, |
and whoever wants to be first among you must be a slave to all. | 44and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. |

Then Jesus answered him, "What do you want Me to do for you?" "Rabbouni," the blind man told Him, "I want to see!" | 51And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” |
"Go your way," Jesus told him. "Your faith has healed you." Immediately he could see and began to follow Him on the road. | 52And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way. |
