Paul,

for
the faith
of God’s
elect
and
their knowledge
of the truth
that
leads to
godliness,
Paul,

according to
the faith
of God's
elect,
and
the acknowledging
of the truth
which
is after
godliness;

To Titus,

in
our common

Grace

from
God
the Father
and

Jesus

To Titus,
[mine] own

after
the common

Grace,
mercy,

from
God

The reason
I left
you
in
Crete
was that
you would set in order
what was
unfinished
and
appoint
elders
in every
town,
as
I
directed
you.
For this
cause
left I
thee
in
Crete,
that
thou shouldest set in order
the things that are wanting,
and
ordain
elders
in every
city,
as
I
had appointed
thee:

An elder must
be
blameless,
the husband
of but one
wife,
having
children
who are believers
and who are not
open to
accusation
of indiscretion
or
insubordination.
If any
be
blameless,
the husband
of one
wife,
having
faithful
children
not
accused
of riot
or
unruly.

μὴ

As
God’s
steward,
an overseer
must
be
above reproach—
not
self-absorbed,
not
quick-tempered,
not
given to drunkenness,
not
violent,
not
greedy for money.
For
a bishop
must
be
blameless,
as
the steward
of God;
not
selfwilled,
not
soon angry,
not
given to wine,
no
striker,
not
given to filthy lucre;
8

Instead,
he must be hospitable,
a lover of good,
self-controlled,
upright,
holy,
and disciplined.
But
a lover of hospitality,
a lover of good men,
sober,
just,
holy,
temperate;

He must hold firmly
to the
faithful
word
as
it was taught,
so that
he can
encourage others
by
sound
teaching
and
refute
those who

Holding fast
the faithful
word
as
he hath been taught,
that
he may be

sound
doctrine
both
to exhort
and
to convince
the gainsayers.

For

and
deceivers,
specially
they of

For the sake of

“Cretans

To the
