1 These are the mansions of the children of Israel, who went out of Egypt by their troops under the conduct of Moses and Aaron, These are the stages of the people of Israel, when they went out of the land of Egypt by their companies under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. Here are the stages in the journey of the Israelites when they came out of Egypt by divisions under the leadership of Moses and Aaron.
2 Which Moses wrote down according to the places of their encamping, which they changed by the commandment of the Lord. Moses wrote down their starting places, stage by stage, by command of the LORD, and these are their stages according to their starting places. At the LORD’s command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. This is their journey by stages:
3 Now the children of Israel departed from Ramesses the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the phase, with a mighty hand, in the eight of all the Egyptians, They set out from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month. On the day after the Passover, the people of Israel went out triumphantly in the sight of all the Egyptians, The Israelites set out from Rameses on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover. They marched out defiantly in full view of all the Egyptians,
4 Who were burying their firstborn, whom the Lord had slain (upon their gods also he had executed vengeance,) while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had struck down among them. On their gods also the LORD executed judgments. who were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had struck down among them; for the LORD had brought judgment on their gods.
5 And they camped in Soccoth. So the people of Israel set out from Rameses and camped at Succoth. The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Sukkoth.
6 And from Soccoth they came into Etham, which is in the uttermost borders of the wilderness. And they set out from Succoth and camped at Etham, which is on the edge of the wilderness. They left Sukkoth and camped at Etham, on the edge of the desert.
7 Departing from thence they came over against Phihahiroth, which looketh towards Beelsephon, and they camped before Magdalum. And they set out from Etham and turned back to Pi-hahiroth, which is east of Baal-zephon, and they camped before Migdol. They left Etham, turned back to Pi Hahiroth, to the east of Baal Zephon, and camped near Migdol.
8 And departing from Phihahiroth, they passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness: and having marched three days through the desert of Etham, they camped in Mara. And they set out from before Hahiroth and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and they went a three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham and camped at Marah. They left Pi Hahiroth and passed through the sea into the desert, and when they had traveled for three days in the Desert of Etham, they camped at Marah.
9 And departing from Mara, they came into Elim, where there were twelve fountains of waters, and seventy palm trees: and there they camped. And they set out from Marah and came to Elim; at Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they camped there. They left Marah and went to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there.
10 But departing from thence also, they pitched their tents by the Red Sea. And departing from the Red Sea, And they set out from Elim and camped by the Red Sea. They left Elim and camped by the Red Sea.
11 They camped in the desert of Sin. And they set out from the Red Sea and camped in the wilderness of Sin. They left the Red Sea and camped in the Desert of Sin.
12 And they removed from thence, and came to Daphca. And they set out from the wilderness of Sin and camped at Dophkah. They left the Desert of Sin and camped at Dophkah.
13 And departing from Daphca, they camped in Alus. And they set out from Dophkah and camped at Alush. They left Dophkah and camped at Alush.
14 And departing from Alus, they pitched their tents in Raphidim, where the people wanted water to drink. And they set out from Alush and camped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink. They left Alush and camped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.
15 And departing from Raphidim, they camped in the desert of Sinai. And they set out from Rephidim and camped in the wilderness of Sinai. They left Rephidim and camped in the Desert of Sinai.

17 And departing from the graves of lust, they camped in Haseroth. And they set out from Kibroth-hattaavah and camped at Hazeroth. They left Kibroth Hattaavah and camped at Hazeroth.
18 And from Haseroth they came to Rethma. And they set out from Hazeroth and camped at Rithmah. They left Hazeroth and camped at Rithmah.
19 And departing from Rethma, they camped in Remmomphares. And they set out from Rithmah and camped at Rimmon-perez. They left Rithmah and camped at Rimmon Perez.
20 And they departed from thence and came to Lebna. And they set out from Rimmon-perez and camped at Libnah. They left Rimmon Perez and camped at Libnah.
21 Removing from Lebna they camped in Ressa. And they set out from Libnah and camped at Rissah. They left Libnah and camped at Rissah.
22 And departing from Ressa, they came to Ceelatha. And they set out from Rissah and camped at Kehelathah. They left Rissah and camped at Kehelathah.
23 And they removed from thence and camped in the mountain Sepher. And they set out from Kehelathah and camped at Mount Shepher. They left Kehelathah and camped at Mount Shepher.
24 Departing from the mountain Sepher, they came to Arada. And they set out from Mount Shepher and camped at Haradah. They left Mount Shepher and camped at Haradah.
25 From thence they went and camped in Maceloth. And they set out from Haradah and camped at Makheloth. They left Haradah and camped at Makheloth.
26 And departing from Maceloth, they came to Thahath. And they set out from Makheloth and camped at Tahath. They left Makheloth and camped at Tahath.
27 Removing from Thahath they camped in Thare. And they set out from Tahath and camped at Terah. They left Tahath and camped at Terah.
28 And they departed from thence, and pitched their tents in Methca. And they set out from Terah and camped at Mithkah. They left Terah and camped at Mithkah.
29 And removing from Methca, they camped in Hesmona. And they set out from Mithkah and camped at Hashmonah. They left Mithkah and camped at Hashmonah.
30 And departing from Hesmona, they came to Moseroth. And they set out from Hashmonah and camped at Moseroth. They left Hashmonah and camped at Moseroth.
31 And removing from Moseroth, they camped in Benejaacan. And they set out from Moseroth and camped at Bene-jaakan. They left Moseroth and camped at Bene Jaakan.
32 And departing from Benejaacan, they came to mount Gadgad. And they set out from Bene-jaakan and camped at Hor-haggidgad. They left Bene Jaakan and camped at Hor Haggidgad.
33 From thence they went and camped in Jetebatha. And they set out from Hor-haggidgad and camped at Jotbathah. They left Hor Haggidgad and camped at Jotbathah.
34 And from Jetebatha they came to Hebrona. And they set out from Jotbathah and camped at Abronah. They left Jotbathah and camped at Abronah.
35 And departing from Hebrona, they camped in Asiongaber. And they set out from Abronah and camped at Ezion-geber. They left Abronah and camped at Ezion Geber.
36 They removed from thence and came into the desert of Sin, which is Cades. And they set out from Ezion-geber and camped in the wilderness of Zin (that is, Kadesh). They left Ezion Geber and camped at Kadesh, in the Desert of Zin.
37 And departing from Cades, they camped in mount Her, in the uttermost borders of the land of Edom. And they set out from Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the edge of the land of Edom. They left Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the border of Edom.
38 And Aaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the commandment of the Lord: and there he died in the fortieth year of the coming forth of the children of Israel out of Egypt, W the fifth month, the first day of the month, And Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor at the command of the LORD and died there, in the fortieth year after the people of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, on the first day of the fifth month. At the LORD’s command Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor, where he died on the first day of the fifth month of the fortieth year after the Israelites came out of Egypt.
39 When he was a hundred and twenty-three years old. And Aaron was 123 years old when he died on Mount Hor. Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.
40 And king Arad the Chanaanite, who dwelt towards the south, heard that the children of Israel were come to the land of Chanaan. And the Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the Negeb in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the people of Israel. The Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev of Canaan, heard that the Israelites were coming.
41 And they departed from mount Her, and camped in Salmona. And they set out from Mount Hor and camped at Zalmonah. They left Mount Hor and camped at Zalmonah.
42 From whence they removed and came to Phunon. And they set out from Zalmonah and camped at Punon. They left Zalmonah and camped at Punon.
43 And departing from Phunon, they camped in Oboth. And they set out from Punon and camped at Oboth. They left Punon and camped at Oboth.
44 And from Oboth they came to Ijeabarim, which is in the borders of the Moabites. And they set out from Oboth and camped at Iye-abarim, in the territory of Moab. They left Oboth and camped at Iye Abarim, on the border of Moab.
45 And departing from Ijeabarim they pitched their tents in Dibongab. And they set out from Iyim and camped at Dibon-gad. They left Iye Abarim and camped at Dibon Gad.
46 From thence they went and camped in Helmondeblathaim. And they set out from Dibon-gad and camped at Almon-diblathaim. They left Dibon Gad and camped at Almon Diblathaim.
47 And departing from Helmondeblathaim, they came to the mountains of Abarim over against Nabo. And they set out from Almon-diblathaim and camped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo. They left Almon Diblathaim and camped in the mountains of Abarim, near Nebo.
48 And departing from the mountains of Abarim, they passed to the plains of Moab, by the Jordan, over against Jericho. And they set out from the mountains of Abarim and camped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho; They left the mountains of Abarim and camped on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho.
49 And there they camped from Bethsi moth even to Ablesatim in the plains of the Moabites, they camped by the Jordan from Beth-jeshimoth as far as Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab. There on the plains of Moab they camped along the Jordan from Beth Jeshimoth to Abel Shittim.
50 Where the Lord said to Moses: And the LORD spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying, On the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho the LORD said to Moses,
51 Command the children of Israel, and say to them: When you shall have passed over the Jordan, entering into the land of Chanaan, “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you cross the Jordan into Canaan,
52 Destroy all the inhabitants of that land: beat down their pillars, and break in pieces their statues, and waste all their high places, then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you and destroy all their figured stones and destroy all their metal images and demolish all their high places. drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. Destroy all their carved images and their cast idols, and demolish all their high places.
53 Cleansing the land, and dwelling in it. For I have given it you for a possession. And you shall take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given the land to you to possess it. Take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess.
54 And you shall divide it among you by lot. To the more you shall give a larger part, and to the fewer a lesser. To every one as the lot shall fall, so shall the inheritance be given. The possession shall be divided by the tribes and the families. You shall inherit the land by lot according to your clans. To a large tribe you shall give a large inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a small inheritance. Wherever the lot falls for anyone, that shall be his. According to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit. Distribute the land by lot, according to your clans. To a larger group give a larger inheritance, and to a smaller group a smaller one. Whatever falls to them by lot will be theirs. Distribute it according to your ancestral tribes.
55 But if you will not kill the inhabitants of the land: they that remain, shall be unto you as nails in your eyes, and spears in your sides, and they shall be your adversaries in the land of your habitation. But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those of them whom you let remain shall be as barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall trouble you in the land where you dwell. “’But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land, those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will give you trouble in the land where you will live.
56 And whatsoever I had thought to do to them, I will do to you. And I will do to you as I thought to do to them.” And then I will do to you what I plan to do to them.’”
