13 and He was there for forty days, being tempted by Satan (the adversary). He was with the wild animals, and the angels (messengers) ministered to Him. 16 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee (circuit), He saw Simon (hearing) and his brother Andrew (manly). They were casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. Passing alongside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 18 And at once they left their nets and followed Him. And immediately they left their nets and followed him. At once they left their nets and followed him.
19 Going on a little farther, He saw James (supplanter / follower) son of Zebedee (YHWH has given) and his brother John (YHWH is gracious). They were in a boat, mending their nets. 24 “What do You want with us, Jesus (YHWH saves) of Nazareth (branch)? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God {Theou}! “What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.” “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”
25 But Jesus (YHWH saves) rebuked the spirit. “Be silent! He said. “Come out of him! But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” “Be quiet!” said Jesus sternly. “Come out of him!”
26 At this, the unclean (impure) spirit {pneuma} threw the man into convulsions and came out with a loud shriek. And the unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying out with a loud voice, came out of him. The impure spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek.
27 All the people were amazed and began to ask one another, “What is this? A new teaching {didachē} with authority! He commands even the unclean (impure) spirits {pneumasi}, and they obey Him! And they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.” The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they obey him.”
28 And the news about Jesus spread quickly through the whole region of Galilee (circuit). And at once his fame spread everywhere throughout all the surrounding region of Galilee. News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee.
29 As soon as Jesus and His companions had left the synagogue, they went with James (supplanter / follower) and John (YHWH is gracious) to the home of Simon (hearing) and Andrew (manly). And immediately he left the synagogue and entered the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John. As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew.
30 Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and they promptly told Jesus about her. Now Simon’s mother-in-law lay ill with a fever, and immediately they told him about her. Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they immediately told Jesus about her.
31 So He went to her, took her by the hand, and helped her up. The fever left her, and she began to serve them. 35 Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up and went out to a solitary (wilderness) place to pray. That is why I have come.”
39 So He went throughout Galilee (circuit), preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons. So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.
40 Then a leper came to Jesus, begging on his knees: “If You are willing, You can make me clean. And a leper came to him, imploring him, and kneeling said to him, “If you will, you can make me clean.” A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.”
41 Moved with compassion [Moved with indignation], Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing, He said. “Be clean! Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, “I will; be clean.” Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!”
42 And immediately the leprosy left him, and the man was cleansed. And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean. Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.
43 Jesus promptly sent him away with a stern warning: And Jesus sternly charged him and sent him away at once, Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning:
44 “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering Moses (drawn out) prescribed for your cleansing, as a testimony to them .” and said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a proof to them.” “See that you don’t tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”
45 But the man went out and openly began to proclaim and spread the news. Consequently, Jesus (YHWH saves) could no longer enter a town in plain view, but He stayed out in solitary (wilderness) places. Yet people came to Him from every quarter. But he went out and began to talk freely about it, and to spread the news, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter a town, but was out in desolate places, and people were coming to him from every quarter. Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.
