But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine:1Σὺ δὲ λάλει πρέπει τῇ ὑγιαινούσῃ διδασκαλίᾳ
that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience;2Πρεσβύτας νηφαλίους εἶναι σεμνούς σώφρονας ὑγιαίνοντας τῇ πίστει τῇ ἀγάπῃ τῇ ὑπομονῇ
the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things—3πρεσβύτιδας ὡσαύτως ἐν καταστήματι ἱεροπρεπεῖς μὴ διαβόλους μηδὲ οἴνῳ πολλῷ δεδουλωμένας καλοδιδασκάλους
that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,4ἵνα σωφρονίζωσιν τὰς νέας φιλάνδρους εἶναι φιλοτέκνους
to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.5σώφρονας ἁγνάς οἰκουργούς ἀγαθάς ὑποτασσομένας τοῖς ἰδίοις ἀνδράσιν ἵνα μὴ λόγος τοῦ Θεοῦ βλασφημῆται
Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded,6Τοὺς νεωτέρους ὡσαύτως παρακάλει σωφρονεῖν
in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility,7Περὶ πάντα σεαυτὸν παρεχόμενος τύπον καλῶν ἔργων ἐν τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ ἀφθορίαν σεμνότητα
sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.8λόγον ὑγιῆ ἀκατάγνωστον ἵνα ἐξ ἐναντίας ἐντραπῇ μηδὲν ἔχων λέγειν περὶ ἡμῶν φαῦλον
Exhort bondservants to be obedient to their own masters, to be well pleasing in all things, not answering back,9Δούλους ἰδίοις δεσπόταις ὑποτάσσεσθαι ἐν πᾶσιν εὐαρέστους εἶναι μὴ ἀντιλέγοντας
not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.10μὴ νοσφιζομένους ἀλλὰ πᾶσαν πίστιν ἐνδεικνυμένους ἀγαθήν ἵνα τὴν διδασκαλίαν τὴν τοῦ Σωτῆρος ἡμῶν Θεοῦ κοσμῶσιν ἐν πᾶσιν
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,11Ἐπεφάνη γὰρ χάρις τοῦ Θεοῦ σωτήριος πᾶσιν ἀνθρώποις
teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,12παιδεύουσα ἡμᾶς ἵνα ἀρνησάμενοι τὴν ἀσέβειαν καὶ τὰς κοσμικὰς ἐπιθυμίας σωφρόνως καὶ δικαίως καὶ εὐσεβῶς ζήσωμεν ἐν τῷ νῦν αἰῶνι
looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,13προσδεχόμενοι τὴν μακαρίαν ἐλπίδα καὶ ἐπιφάνειαν τῆς δόξης τοῦ μεγάλου Θεοῦ καὶ Σωτῆρος ἡμῶν Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ
who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.14ὃς ἔδωκεν ἑαυτὸν ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν ἵνα λυτρώσηται ἡμᾶς ἀπὸ πάσης ἀνομίας καὶ καθαρίσῃ ἑαυτῷ λαὸν περιούσιον ζηλωτὴν καλῶν ἔργων
Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.15Ταῦτα λάλει καὶ παρακάλει καὶ ἔλεγχε μετὰ πάσης ἐπιταγῆς μηδείς σου περιφρονείτω
