| 1These are the journeys of the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt with their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron. | 1These are the stages of the people of Israel, when they went out of the land of Egypt by their companies under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. |
| 2And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of the LORD: and these are their journeys according to their goings out. | 2Moses wrote down their starting places, stage by stage, by command of the LORD, and these are their stages according to their starting places. |
| 3And they departed from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians. | 3They set out from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month. | 35And they departed from Ebronah, and encamped at Eziongaber. | 35And they set out from Abronah and camped at Ezion-geber. |
| 36And they removed from Eziongaber, and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which is Kadesh. | 36And they set out from Ezion-geber and camped in the wilderness of Zin (that is, Kadesh). |
| 37And they removed from Kadesh, and pitched in mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom. | 37And they set out from Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the edge of the land of Edom. |
| 38And Aaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the commandment of the LORD, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month. | 38And Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor at the command of the LORD and died there, in the fortieth year after the people of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, on the first day of the fifth month. |
| 39And Aaron was an hundred and twenty and three years old when he died in mount Hor. | 39And Aaron was 123 years old when he died on Mount Hor. |

| 49And they pitched by Jordan, from Bethjesimoth even unto Abelshittim in the plains of Moab. | 49they camped by the Jordan from Beth-jeshimoth as far as Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab. |

| 51Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye are passed over Jordan into the land of Canaan; | 51“Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, |
| 52Then ye shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their pictures, and destroy all their molten images, and quite pluck down all their high places: | 52then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you and destroy all their figured stones and destroy all their metal images and demolish all their high places. |
| 53And ye shall dispossess the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein: for I have given you the land to possess it. | 53And you shall take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given the land to you to possess it. |
| 54And ye shall divide the land by lot for an inheritance among your families: and to the more ye shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer ye shall give the less inheritance: every man's inheritance shall be in the place where his lot falleth; according to the tribes of your fathers ye shall inherit. | 54You shall inherit the land by lot according to your clans. To a large tribe you shall give a large inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a small inheritance. Wherever the lot falls for anyone, that shall be his. According to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit. |
| 55But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be pricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell. | 55But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those of them whom you let remain shall be as barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall trouble you in the land where you dwell. |
| 56Moreover it shall come to pass, that I shall do unto you, as I thought to do unto them. | 56And I will do to you as I thought to do to them.” |
