1Brothers, if a person is caught doing something wrong, those of you who are spiritual should restore that person gently. Watch out for yourself so that you are not tempted as well. 1Ἀδελφοί ἐὰν καὶ προλημφθῇ ἄνθρωπος ἔν τινι παραπτώματι ὑμεῖς οἱ πνευματικοὶ καταρτίζετε τὸν τοιοῦτον ἐν πνεύματι πραΰτητος σκοπῶν σεαυτόν μὴ καὶ σὺ πειρασθῇς
2Practice carrying each other's burdens. In this way you will fulfill the law of the Messiah.2Ἀλλήλων τὰ βάρη βαστάζετε καὶ οὕτως ἀναπληρώσετε τὸν νόμον τοῦ Χριστοῦ
3For if anyone thinks he is something when he is really nothing, he is only fooling himself. 3εἰ γὰρ δοκεῖ τις εἶναί τι μηδὲν ὤν φρεναπατᾷ ἑαυτόν
4Each person must examine his own actions, and then he can boast about his own accomplishments and not about someone else. 4Τὸ δὲ ἔργον ἑαυτοῦ δοκιμαζέτω ἕκαστος καὶ τότε εἰς ἑαυτὸν μόνον τὸ καύχημα ἕξει καὶ οὐκ εἰς τὸν ἕτερον
5For everyone must carry his own load.5ἕκαστος γὰρ τὸ ἴδιον φορτίον βαστάσει
6The person who is taught the word should share all his goods with his teacher. 6Κοινωνείτω δὲ ὁ κατηχούμενος τὸν λόγον τῷ κατηχοῦντι ἐν πᾶσιν ἀγαθοῖς
7Stop being deceived; God is not to be ridiculed. A person harvests whatever he plants: 7Μὴ πλανᾶσθε Θεὸς οὐ μυκτηρίζεται ὃ γὰρ ἐὰν σπείρῃ ἄνθρωπος τοῦτο καὶ θερίσει
8The person who sows through human means will harvest decay from human means, but the person who sows in the Spirit will harvest eternal life from the Spirit. 8ὅτι ὁ σπείρων εἰς τὴν σάρκα ἑαυτοῦ ἐκ τῆς σαρκὸς θερίσει φθοράν ὁ δὲ σπείρων εἰς τὸ Πνεῦμα ἐκ τοῦ Πνεύματος θερίσει ζωὴν αἰώνιον
9Let's not get tired of doing what is good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest—if we do not give up. 9Τὸ δὲ καλὸν ποιοῦντες μὴ ἐνκακῶμεν καιρῷ γὰρ ἰδίῳ θερίσομεν μὴ ἐκλυόμενοι
10So then, whenever we have the opportunity, let's practice doing good to everyone, especially to the family of faith.10Ἄρα οὖν ὡς καιρὸν ἔχομεν* ἐργαζώμεθα τὸ ἀγαθὸν πρὸς πάντας μάλιστα δὲ πρὸς τοὺς οἰκείους τῆς πίστεως
11Look at how large these letters are because I am writing with my own hand! 11Ἴδετε πηλίκοις ὑμῖν γράμμασιν ἔγραψα τῇ ἐμῇ χειρί
12These people who want to impress others by their external appearance are trying to force you to be circumcised, simply to avoid being persecuted for the cross of the Messiah.12Ὅσοι θέλουσιν εὐπροσωπῆσαι ἐν σαρκί οὗτοι ἀναγκάζουσιν ὑμᾶς περιτέμνεσθαι μόνον ἵνα τῷ σταυρῷ τοῦ Χριστοῦ (Ἰησοῦ) μὴ διώκωνται
13Why, not even those who are circumcised obey the Law! They simply want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about your external appearance.13οὐδὲ γὰρ οἱ περιτεμνόμενοι αὐτοὶ νόμον φυλάσσουσιν ἀλλὰ θέλουσιν ὑμᾶς περιτέμνεσθαι ἵνα ἐν τῇ ὑμετέρᾳ σαρκὶ καυχήσωνται
14But may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world! 14Ἐμοὶ δὲ μὴ γένοιτο καυχᾶσθαι εἰ μὴ ἐν τῷ σταυρῷ τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ δι’ οὗ ἐμοὶ κόσμος ἐσταύρωται κἀγὼ κόσμῳ
15For neither circumcision nor uncircumcision matters. Rather, what matters is being a new creation. 15οὔτε γὰρ περιτομή τί ἐστιν οὔτε ἀκροβυστία ἀλλὰ καινὴ κτίσις
16Now may peace be on all those who live by this principle, and may mercy be on the Israel of God. 16Καὶ ὅσοι τῷ κανόνι τούτῳ στοιχήσουσιν εἰρήνη ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς καὶ ἔλεος καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν Ἰσραὴλ τοῦ Θεοῦ
17Let no one make any more trouble for me, because I carry the scars of Jesus on my own body.17Τοῦ λοιποῦ κόπους μοι μηδεὶς παρεχέτω ἐγὼ γὰρ τὰ στίγματα τοῦ Ἰησοῦ ἐν τῷ σώματί μου βαστάζω
18May the grace of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, be with your spirit, brothers! Amen.18Ἡ χάρις τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ μετὰ τοῦ πνεύματος ὑμῶν ἀδελφοί Ἀμήν
