1	These are the journeys of the children of Israel, when they went out of the land of Egypt by their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.	These are the stages of the people of Israel, when they went out of the land of Egypt by their companies under the leadership of Moses and Aaron.	Here are the stages in the journey of the Israelites when they came out of Egypt by divisions under the leadership of Moses and Aaron.
2	Moses wrote the starting points of their journeys by the commandment of Yahweh. These are their journeys according to their starting points.	Moses wrote down their starting places, stage by stage, by command of the LORD, and these are their stages according to their starting places.	At the LORD’s command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. This is their journey by stages:
3	They traveled from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the next day after the Passover, the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,	They set out from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month. On the day after the Passover, the people of Israel went out triumphantly in the sight of all the Egyptians,	The Israelites set out from Rameses on the fifteenth day of the first month, the day after the Passover. They marched out defiantly in full view of all the Egyptians,
4	while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom Yahweh had struck among them. Yahweh also executed judgments on their gods.	while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had struck down among them. On their gods also the LORD executed judgments.	who were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had struck down among them; for the LORD had brought judgment on their gods.
5	The children of Israel traveled from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth.	So the people of Israel set out from Rameses and camped at Succoth.	The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Sukkoth.
6	They traveled from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.	And they set out from Succoth and camped at Etham, which is on the edge of the wilderness.	They left Sukkoth and camped at Etham, on the edge of the desert.
7	They traveled from Etham, and turned back to Pihahiroth, which is before Baal Zephon, and they encamped before Migdol.	And they set out from Etham and turned back to Pi-hahiroth, which is east of Baal-zephon, and they camped before Migdol.	They left Etham, turned back to Pi Hahiroth, to the east of Baal Zephon, and camped near Migdol.
8	They traveled from before Hahiroth, and crossed through the middle of the sea into the wilderness. They went three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah.	And they set out from before Hahiroth and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and they went a three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham and camped at Marah.	They left Pi Hahiroth and passed through the sea into the desert, and when they had traveled for three days in the Desert of Etham, they camped at Marah.
9	They traveled from Marah, and came to Elim. In Elim, there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they encamped there.	And they set out from Marah and came to Elim; at Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they camped there.	They left Marah and went to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there.
10	They traveled from Elim, and encamped by the Red Sea.	And they set out from Elim and camped by the Red Sea.	They left Elim and camped by the Red Sea.
11	They traveled from the Red Sea, and encamped in the wilderness of Sin.	And they set out from the Red Sea and camped in the wilderness of Sin.	They left the Red Sea and camped in the Desert of Sin.
12	They traveled from the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah.	And they set out from the wilderness of Sin and camped at Dophkah.	They left the Desert of Sin and camped at Dophkah.
13	They traveled from Dophkah, and encamped in Alush.	And they set out from Dophkah and camped at Alush.	They left Dophkah and camped at Alush.
14	They traveled from Alush, and encamped in Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.	And they set out from Alush and camped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.	They left Alush and camped at Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.
15	They traveled from Rephidim, and encamped in the wilderness of Sinai.	And they set out from Rephidim and camped in the wilderness of Sinai.	They left Rephidim and camped in the Desert of Sinai.

17	They traveled from Kibroth Hattaavah, and encamped in Hazeroth.	And they set out from Kibroth-hattaavah and camped at Hazeroth.	They left Kibroth Hattaavah and camped at Hazeroth.
18	They traveled from Hazeroth, and encamped in Rithmah.	And they set out from Hazeroth and camped at Rithmah.	They left Hazeroth and camped at Rithmah.
19	They traveled from Rithmah, and encamped in Rimmon Perez.	And they set out from Rithmah and camped at Rimmon-perez.	They left Rithmah and camped at Rimmon Perez.
20	They traveled from Rimmon Perez, and encamped in Libnah.	And they set out from Rimmon-perez and camped at Libnah.	They left Rimmon Perez and camped at Libnah.
21	They traveled from Libnah, and encamped in Rissah.	And they set out from Libnah and camped at Rissah.	They left Libnah and camped at Rissah.
22	They traveled from Rissah, and encamped in Kehelathah.	And they set out from Rissah and camped at Kehelathah.	They left Rissah and camped at Kehelathah.
23	They traveled from Kehelathah, and encamped in Mount Shepher.	And they set out from Kehelathah and camped at Mount Shepher.	They left Kehelathah and camped at Mount Shepher.
24	They traveled from Mount Shepher, and encamped in Haradah.	And they set out from Mount Shepher and camped at Haradah.	They left Mount Shepher and camped at Haradah.
25	They traveled from Haradah, and encamped in Makheloth.	And they set out from Haradah and camped at Makheloth.	They left Haradah and camped at Makheloth.
26	They traveled from Makheloth, and encamped in Tahath.	And they set out from Makheloth and camped at Tahath.	They left Makheloth and camped at Tahath.
27	They traveled from Tahath, and encamped in Terah.	And they set out from Tahath and camped at Terah.	They left Tahath and camped at Terah.
28	They traveled from Terah, and encamped in Mithkah.	And they set out from Terah and camped at Mithkah.	They left Terah and camped at Mithkah.

34	They traveled from Jotbathah, and encamped in Abronah.	And they set out from Jotbathah and camped at Abronah.	They left Jotbathah and camped at Abronah.
35	They traveled from Abronah, and encamped in Ezion Geber.	And they set out from Abronah and camped at Ezion-geber.	They left Abronah and camped at Ezion Geber.
36	They traveled from Ezion Geber, and encamped at Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.	And they set out from Ezion-geber and camped in the wilderness of Zin (that is, Kadesh).	They left Ezion Geber and camped at Kadesh, in the Desert of Zin.
37	They traveled from Kadesh, and encamped in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.	And they set out from Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the edge of the land of Edom.	They left Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the border of Edom.
38	Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of Yahweh and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.	And Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor at the command of the LORD and died there, in the fortieth year after the people of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, on the first day of the fifth month.	At the LORD’s command Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor, where he died on the first day of the fifth month of the fortieth year after the Israelites came out of Egypt.
39	Aaron was one hundred twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.	And Aaron was 123 years old when he died on Mount Hor.	Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.
40	The Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the South in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.	And the Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the Negeb in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the people of Israel.	The Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev of Canaan, heard that the Israelites were coming.
41	They traveled from Mount Hor, and encamped in Zalmonah.	And they set out from Mount Hor and camped at Zalmonah.	They left Mount Hor and camped at Zalmonah.
42	They traveled from Zalmonah, and encamped in Punon.	And they set out from Zalmonah and camped at Punon.	They left Zalmonah and camped at Punon.
43	They traveled from Punon, and encamped in Oboth.	And they set out from Punon and camped at Oboth.	They left Punon and camped at Oboth.
44	They traveled from Oboth, and encamped in Iye Abarim, in the border of Moab.	And they set out from Oboth and camped at Iye-abarim, in the territory of Moab.	They left Oboth and camped at Iye Abarim, on the border of Moab.
45	They traveled from Iyim, and encamped in Dibon Gad.	And they set out from Iyim and camped at Dibon-gad.	They left Iye Abarim and camped at Dibon Gad.
46	They traveled from Dibon Gad, and encamped in Almon Diblathaim.	And they set out from Dibon-gad and camped at Almon-diblathaim.	They left Dibon Gad and camped at Almon Diblathaim.
47	They traveled from Almon Diblathaim, and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.	And they set out from Almon-diblathaim and camped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.	They left Almon Diblathaim and camped in the mountains of Abarim, near Nebo.
48	They traveled from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.	And they set out from the mountains of Abarim and camped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho;	They left the mountains of Abarim and camped on the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho.
49	They encamped by the Jordan, from Beth Jeshimoth even to Abel Shittim in the plains of Moab.	they camped by the Jordan from Beth-jeshimoth as far as Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab.	There on the plains of Moab they camped along the Jordan from Beth Jeshimoth to Abel Shittim.
50	Yahweh spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,	And the LORD spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,	On the plains of Moab by the Jordan across from Jericho the LORD said to Moses,
51	Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, “When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,	“Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,	“Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you cross the Jordan into Canaan,
52	then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their stone idols, destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places.	then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you and destroy all their figured stones and destroy all their metal images and demolish all their high places.	drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. Destroy all their carved images and their cast idols, and demolish all their high places.
53	You shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein; for I have given the land to you to possess it.	And you shall take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given the land to you to possess it.	Take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess.
54	You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the larger groups you shall give a larger inheritance, and to the smaller you shall give a smaller inheritance. Wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.	You shall inherit the land by lot according to your clans. To a large tribe you shall give a large inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a small inheritance. Wherever the lot falls for anyone, that shall be his. According to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit.	Distribute the land by lot, according to your clans. To a larger group give a larger inheritance, and to a smaller group a smaller one. Whatever falls to them by lot will be theirs. Distribute it according to your ancestral tribes.
55	“But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those you let remain of them will be like pricks in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will harass you in the land in which you dwell.	But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those of them whom you let remain shall be as barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall trouble you in the land where you dwell.	“’But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land, those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will give you trouble in the land where you will live.
56	It shall happen that as I thought to do to them, so I will do to you.”	And I will do to you as I thought to do to them.”	And then I will do to you what I plan to do to them.’”
