τοῦ δόντος ἑαυτὸν ὑπὲρ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ἡμῶν ὅπως ἐξέληται ἡμᾶς ἐκ τοῦ αἰῶνος τοῦ ἐνεστῶτος πονηροῦ κατὰ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ Πατρὸς ἡμῶν | who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, | who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, |
ᾧ ἡ δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων ἀμήν | to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. | to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. |

ὃ οὐκ ἔστιν ἄλλο εἰ μή τινές εἰσιν οἱ ταράσσοντες ὑμᾶς καὶ θέλοντες μεταστρέψαι τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τοῦ Χριστοῦ | not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. | which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. |
Ἀλλὰ καὶ ἐὰν ἡμεῖς ἢ ἄγγελος ἐξ οὐρανοῦ εὐαγγελίζηται* ὑμῖν παρ’ ὃ εὐηγγελισάμεθα ὑμῖν ἀνάθεμα ἔστω | But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. | But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! |
ὡς προειρήκαμεν καὶ ἄρτι πάλιν λέγω εἴ τις ὑμᾶς εὐαγγελίζεται παρ’ ὃ παρελάβετε ἀνάθεμα ἔστω | As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. | As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse! |
Ἄρτι γὰρ ἀνθρώπους πείθω ἢ τὸν Θεόν ἢ ζητῶ ἀνθρώποις ἀρέσκειν εἰ ἔτι ἀνθρώποις ἤρεσκον Χριστοῦ δοῦλος οὐκ ἂν ἤμην | For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. | Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. |
γνωρίζω γὰρ ὑμῖν ἀδελφοί τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τὸ εὐαγγελισθὲν ὑπ’ ἐμοῦ ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν κατὰ ἄνθρωπον | For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man’s gospel. | I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin. |
οὐδὲ γὰρ ἐγὼ παρὰ ἀνθρώπου παρέλαβον αὐτό οὔτε ἐδιδάχθην ἀλλὰ δι’ ἀποκαλύψεως Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ | For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. | I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ. |
Ἠκούσατε γὰρ τὴν ἐμὴν ἀναστροφήν ποτε ἐν τῷ Ἰουδαϊσμῷ ὅτι καθ’ ὑπερβολὴν ἐδίωκον τὴν ἐκκλησίαν τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ ἐπόρθουν αὐτήν | For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it. | For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. |
καὶ προέκοπτον ἐν τῷ Ἰουδαϊσμῷ ὑπὲρ πολλοὺς συνηλικιώτας ἐν τῷ γένει μου περισσοτέρως ζηλωτὴς ὑπάρχων τῶν πατρικῶν μου παραδόσεων | And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremely zealous was I for the traditions of my fathers. | I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers. |

Later I returned to Damascus. | |
Ἔπειτα μετὰ τρία ἔτη ἀνῆλθον εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα ἱστορῆσαι Κηφᾶν καὶ ἐπέμεινα πρὸς αὐτὸν ἡμέρας δεκαπέντε | Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and remained with him fifteen days. | Then after three years, I went up to Jerusalem to get acquainted with Cephas and stayed with him fifteen days. |
