1	A Maskil of Asaph. Give ear, O my people, to my instruction; listen to the words of my mouth.	Give ear, O my people, to my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth!	A maskil of Asaph. My people, hear my teaching; listen to the words of my mouth.
2	I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the beginning,	I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old,	I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old—
3	that we have heard and known and our fathers have relayed to us.	things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us.	things we have heard and known, things our ancestors have told us.
4	We will not hide them from their children but will declare to the next generation the praises of the LORD and His might and the wonders He has performed.	We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the LORD, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.	We will not hide them from their descendants; we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done.

7	that they should put their confidence in God, not forgetting His works, but keeping His commandments.	so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments;	Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.
8	Then they will not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose heart was not loyal, whose spirit was not faithful to God.	and that they should not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation whose heart was not steadfast, whose spirit was not faithful to God.	They would not be like their ancestors— a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him.

Can he also give bread or provide meat for his people?”	True, he struck the rock, and water gushed out, streams flowed abundantly, but can he also give us bread? Can he supply meat for his people?”
21	Therefore the LORD heard and was filled with wrath; so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and His anger flared against Israel,	Therefore, when the LORD heard, he was full of wrath; a fire was kindled against Jacob; his anger rose against Israel,	When the LORD heard them, he was furious; his fire broke out against Jacob, and his wrath rose against Israel,

33	So He ended their days in futility, and their years in sudden terror.	So he made their days vanish like a breath, and their years in terror.	So he ended their days in futility and their years in terror.

58	They enraged Him with their high places and provoked His jealousy with their idols.	For they provoked him to anger with their high places; they moved him to jealousy with their idols.	They angered him with their high places; they aroused his jealousy with their idols.
59	On hearing it, God was furious and rejected Israel completely.	When God heard, he was full of wrath, and he utterly rejected Israel.	When God heard them, he was furious; he rejected Israel completely.
