1“These are the instructions for the guilt offering. It is most holy.

1'Now this is the law of the guilt offering; it is most holy.

2The animal sacrificed as a guilt offering must be slaughtered at the place where the burnt offerings are slaughtered, and its blood must be splattered against all sides of the altar.

2'In the place where they slay the burnt offering they are to slay the guilt offering, and he shall sprinkle its blood around on the altar.

3The priest will then offer all its fat on the altar, including the fat of the broad tail, the fat around the internal organs,

3'Then he shall offer from it all its fat: the fat tail and the fat that covers the entrails,

4the two kidneys and the fat around them near the loins, and the long lobe of the liver. These are to be removed with the kidneys,

4and the two kidneys with the fat that is on them, which is on the loins, and the lobe on the liver he shall remove with the kidneys.

5and the priests will burn them on the altar as a special gift presented to the LORD. This is the guilt offering.

5'The priest shall offer them up in smoke on the altar as an offering by fire to the LORD; it is a guilt offering.

6Any male from a priest’s family may eat the meat. It must be eaten in a sacred place, for it is most holy.

6'Every male among the priests may eat of it. It shall be eaten in a holy place; it is most holy.

7“The same instructions apply to both the guilt offering and the sin offering. Both belong to the priest who uses them to purify someone, making that person right with the LORD.

7'The guilt offering is like the sin offering, there is one law for them; the priest who makes atonement with it shall have it.

8In the case of the burnt offering, the priest may keep the hide of the sacrificed animal.

8'Also the priest who presents any man's burnt offering, that priest shall have for himself the skin of the burnt offering which he has presented.

9Any grain offering that has been baked in an oven, prepared in a pan, or cooked on a griddle belongs to the priest who presents it.

9'Likewise, every grain offering that is baked in the oven and everything prepared in a pan or on a griddle shall belong to the priest who presents it.

10All other grain offerings, whether made of dry flour or flour moistened with olive oil, are to be shared equally among all the priests, the descendants of Aaron. Further Instructions for the Peace Offering

10'Every grain offering, mixed with oil or dry, shall belong to all the sons of Aaron, to all alike.

11“These are the instructions regarding the different kinds of peace offerings that may be presented to the LORD.

11'Now this is the law of the sacrifice of peace offerings which shall be presented to the LORD.

12If you present your peace offering as an expression of thanksgiving, the usual animal sacrifice must be accompanied by various kinds of bread made without yeast—thin cakes mixed with olive oil, wafers spread with oil, and cakes made of choice flour mixed with olive oil.

12If he offers it by way of thanksgiving, then along with the sacrifice of thanksgiving he shall offer unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers spread with oil, and cakes of well stirred fine flour mixed with oil.

13This peace offering of thanksgiving must also be accompanied by loaves of bread made with yeast.

13'With the sacrifice of his peace offerings for thanksgiving, he shall present his offering with cakes of leavened bread.

14One of each kind of bread must be presented as a gift to the LORD. It will then belong to the priest who splatters the blood of the peace offering against the altar.

14'Of this he shall present one of every offering as a contribution to the LORD; it shall belong to the priest who sprinkles the blood of the peace offerings.

15The meat of the peace offering of thanksgiving must be eaten on the same day it is offered. None of it may be saved for the next morning.

15Now as for the flesh of the sacrifice of his thanksgiving peace offerings, it shall be eaten on the day of his offering; he shall not leave any of it over until morning.

16“If you bring an offering to fulfill a vow or as a voluntary offering, the meat must be eaten on the same day the sacrifice is offered, but whatever is left over may be eaten on the second day.

16'But if the sacrifice of his offering is a votive or a freewill offering, it shall be eaten on the day that he offers his sacrifice, and on the next day what is left of it may be eaten;

17Any meat left over until the third day must be completely burned up.

17but what is left over from the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day shall be burned with fire.

18If any of the meat from the peace offering is eaten on the third day, the person who presented it will not be accepted by the LORD. You will receive no credit for offering it. By then the meat will be contaminated; if you eat it, you will be punished for your sin.

18So if any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace offerings should ever be eaten on the third day, he who offers it will not be accepted, and it will not be reckoned to his benefit. It shall be an offensive thing, and the person who eats of it will bear his own iniquity.

19“Meat that touches anything ceremonially unclean may not be eaten; it must be completely burned up. The rest of the meat may be eaten, but only by people who are ceremonially clean.

19Also the flesh that touches anything unclean shall not be eaten; it shall be burned with fire. As for other flesh, anyone who is clean may eat such flesh.

20If you are ceremonially unclean and you eat meat from a peace offering that was presented to the LORD, you will be cut off from the community.

20'But the person who eats the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings which belong to the LORD, in his uncleanness, that person shall be cut off from his people.

21If you touch anything that is unclean (whether it is human defilement or an unclean animal or any other unclean, detestable thing) and then eat meat from a peace offering presented to the LORD, you will be cut off from the community.” The Forbidden Blood and Fat

21'When anyone touches anything unclean, whether human uncleanness, or an unclean animal, or any unclean detestable thing, and eats of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings which belong to the LORD, that person shall be cut off from his people.'"

22Then the LORD said to Moses,

22Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

23“Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. You must never eat fat, whether from cattle, sheep, or goats.

23"Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'You shall not eat any fat from an ox, a sheep or a goat.

24The fat of an animal found dead or torn to pieces by wild animals must never be eaten, though it may be used for any other purpose.

24Also the fat of an animal which dies and the fat of an animal torn by beasts may be put to any other use, but you must certainly not eat it.

25Anyone who eats fat from an animal presented as a special gift to the LORD will be cut off from the community.

25'For whoever eats the fat of the animal from which an offering by fire is offered to the LORD, even the person who eats shall be cut off from his people.

26No matter where you live, you must never consume the blood of any bird or animal.

26'You are not to eat any blood, either of bird or animal, in any of your dwellings.

27Anyone who consumes blood will be cut off from the community.” A Portion for the Priests

27'Any person who eats any blood, even that person shall be cut off from his people.'"

28Then the LORD said to Moses,

28Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

29“Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. When you present a peace offering to the LORD, bring part of it as a gift to the LORD.

29"Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, 'He who offers the sacrifice of his peace offerings to the LORD shall bring his offering to the LORD from the sacrifice of his peace offerings.

30Present it to the LORD with your own hands as a special gift to the LORD. Bring the fat of the animal, together with the breast, and lift up the breast as a special offering to the LORD.

30'His own hands are to bring offerings by fire to the LORD. He shall bring the fat with the breast, that the breast may be presented as a wave offering before the LORD.

31Then the priest will burn the fat on the altar, but the breast will belong to Aaron and his descendants.

31'The priest shall offer up the fat in smoke on the altar, but the breast shall belong to Aaron and his sons.

32Give the right thigh of your peace offering to the priest as a gift.

32'You shall give the right thigh to the priest as a contribution from the sacrifices of your peace offerings.

33The right thigh must always be given to the priest who offers the blood and the fat of the peace offering.

33The one among the sons of Aaron who offers the blood of the peace offerings and the fat, the right thigh shall be his as his portion.

34For I have reserved the breast of the special offering and the right thigh of the sacred offering for the priests. It is the permanent right of Aaron and his descendants to share in the peace offerings brought by the people of Israel.

34For I have taken the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution from the sons of Israel from the sacrifices of their peace offerings, and have given them to Aaron the priest and to his sons as their due forever from the sons of Israel.

35This is their rightful share. The special gifts presented to the LORD have been reserved for Aaron and his descendants from the time they were set apart to serve the LORD as priests.

35'This is that which is consecrated to Aaron and that which is consecrated to his sons from the offerings by fire to the LORD, in that day when he presented them to serve as priests to the LORD.

36On the day they were anointed, the LORD commanded the Israelites to give these portions to the priests as their permanent share from generation to generation.”

36These the LORD had commanded to be given them from the sons of Israel in the day that He anointed them. It is their due forever throughout their generations.'"

37These are the instructions for the burnt offering, the grain offering, the sin offering, and the guilt offering, as well as the ordination offering and the peace offering.

37This is the law of the burnt offering, the grain offering and the sin offering and the guilt offering and the ordination offering and the sacrifice of peace offerings,

38The LORD gave these instructions to Moses on Mount Sinai when he commanded the Israelites to present their offerings to the LORD in the wilderness of Sinai.

38which the LORD commanded Moses at Mount Sinai in the day that He commanded the sons of Israel to present their offerings to the LORD in the wilderness of Sinai.
