From the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn they made woven garments for serving in the sanctuary; they made holy garments that were for Aaron, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. 1From the blue, purple and scarlet yarn they made woven garments for ministering in the sanctuary. They also made sacred garments for Aaron, as the LORD commanded Moses.
He made the ephod of gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twisted linen.2They made the ephod of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.
They hammered the gold into thin sheets and cut it into narrow strips to weave them into the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and into the fine linen, the work of an artistic designer.3They hammered out thin sheets of gold and cut strands to be worked into the blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen--the work of skilled hands.
They made shoulder pieces for it, attached to two of its corners, so it could be joined together.4They made shoulder pieces for the ephod, which were attached to two of its corners, so it could be fastened.
The artistically woven waistband of the ephod that was on it was like it, of one piece with it, of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twisted linen, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. 5Its skillfully woven waistband was like it--of one piece with the ephod and made with gold, and with blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and with finely twisted linen, as the LORD commanded Moses.
They set the onyx stones in gold filigree settings, engraved as with the engravings of a seal with the names of the sons of Israel.6They mounted the onyx stones in gold filigree settings and engraved them like a seal with the names of the sons of Israel.
He put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as stones of memorial for the Israelites, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. 7Then they fastened them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, as the LORD commanded Moses.
He made the breastpiece, the work of an artistic designer, in the same fashion as the ephod, of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet, and fine twisted linen.8They fashioned the breastpiece--the work of a skilled craftsman. They made it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.
It was square--they made the breastpiece doubled, nine inches long and nine inches wide when doubled.9It was square--a span long and a span wide--and folded double.
They set on it four rows of stones: a row with a ruby, a topaz, and a beryl--the first row;10Then they mounted four rows of precious stones on it. The first row was carnelian, chrysolite and beryl;
and the second row, a turquoise, a sapphire, and an emerald;11the second row was turquoise, lapis lazuli and emerald;
and the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;12the third row was jacinth, agate and amethyst;
and the fourth row, a chrysolite, an onyx, and a jasper. They were enclosed in gold filigree settings.13the fourth row was topaz, onyx and jasper. They were mounted in gold filigree settings.
The stones were for the names of the sons of Israel, twelve, corresponding to the number of their names. Each name corresponding to one of the twelve tribes was like the engravings of a seal. 14There were twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.
They made for the breastpiece braided chains like cords of pure gold,15For the breastpiece they made braided chains of pure gold, like a rope.
and they made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and they attached the two rings to the upper two ends of the breastpiece.16They made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and fastened the rings to two of the corners of the breastpiece.
They attached the two gold chains to the two rings at the ends of the breastpiece;17They fastened the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the breastpiece,
the other two ends of the two chains they attached to the two settings, and they attached them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front of it.18and the other ends of the chains to the two settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front.
They made two rings of gold and put them on the other two ends of the breastpiece on its edge, which is on the inner side of the ephod.19They made two gold rings and attached them to the other two corners of the breastpiece on the inside edge next to the ephod.
They made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the two shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the juncture above the waistband of the ephod.20Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the seam just above the waistband of the ephod.
They tied the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod by blue cord, so that it was above the waistband of the ephod, so that the breastpiece would not be loose from the ephod, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. 21They tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband so that the breastpiece would not swing out from the ephod--as the LORD commanded Moses.
He made the robe of the ephod completely blue, the work of a weaver.22They made the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth--the work of a weaver--
There was an opening in the center of the robe, like the opening of a collar, with an edge all around the opening so that it could not be torn.23with an opening in the center of the robe like the opening of a collar, and a band around this opening, so that it would not tear.
They made pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and twisted linen around the hem of the robe.24They made pomegranates of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen around the hem of the robe.
They made bells of pure gold and attached the bells between the pomegranates around the hem of the robe between the pomegranates.25And they made bells of pure gold and attached them around the hem between the pomegranates.
There was a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, all around the hem of the robe, to be used in ministering, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. 26The bells and pomegranates alternated around the hem of the robe to be worn for ministering, as the LORD commanded Moses.
They made tunics of fine linen--the work of a weaver, for Aaron and for his sons--27For Aaron and his sons, they made tunics of fine linen--the work of a weaver--
and the turban of fine linen, the headbands of fine linen, and the undergarments of fine twisted linen.28and the turban of fine linen, the linen caps and the undergarments of finely twisted linen.
The sash was of fine twisted linen and blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, the work of an embroiderer, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.29The sash was made of finely twisted linen and blue, purple and scarlet yarn--the work of an embroiderer--as the LORD commanded Moses.
They made a plate, the holy diadem, of pure gold and wrote on it an inscription, as on the engravings of a seal, "Holiness to the LORD."30They made the plate, the sacred emblem, out of pure gold and engraved on it, like an inscription on a seal: holy to the Lord.
They attached to it a blue cord, to attach it to the turban above, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. 31Then they fastened a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban, as the LORD commanded Moses.
So all the work of the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, was completed, and the Israelites did according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses--they did it exactly so.32So all the work on the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, was completed. The Israelites did everything just as the LORD commanded Moses.
They brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent and all its furnishings, clasps, frames, bars, posts, and bases;33Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent and all its furnishings, its clasps, frames, crossbars, posts and bases;
and the coverings of ram skins dyed red, the covering of fine leather, and the protecting curtain;34the covering of ram skins dyed red and the covering of another durable leather and the shielding curtain;
the ark of the testimony and its poles, and the atonement lid;35the ark of the covenant law with its poles and the atonement cover;
the table, all its utensils, and the Bread of the Presence;36the table with all its articles and the bread of the Presence;
the pure lampstand, its lamps, with the lamps set in order, and all its accessories, and oil for the light;37the pure gold lampstand with its row of lamps and all its accessories, and the olive oil for the light;
and the gold altar, and the anointing oil, and the fragrant incense; and the curtain for the entrance to the tent;38the gold altar, the anointing oil, the fragrant incense, and the curtain for the entrance to the tent;
the bronze altar and its bronze grating, its poles, and all its utensils; the large basin with its pedestal;39the bronze altar with its bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils; the basin with its stand;
the hangings of the courtyard, its posts and its bases, and the curtain for the gateway of the courtyard, its ropes and its tent pegs, and all the furnishings for the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of meeting;40the curtains of the courtyard with its posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard; the ropes and tent pegs for the courtyard; all the furnishings for the tabernacle, the tent of meeting;
the woven garments for serving in the sanctuary, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments for his sons to minister as priests. 41and the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when serving as priests.
The Israelites did all the work according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses.42The Israelites had done all the work just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Moses inspected all the work--and they had done it just as the LORD had commanded--they had done it exactly--and Moses blessed them. 43Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the LORD had commanded. So Moses blessed them.
