Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:1Τὸ λοιπὸν προσεύχεσθε ἀδελφοί περὶ ἡμῶν ἵνα λόγος τοῦ Κυρίου τρέχῃ καὶ δοξάζηται καθὼς καὶ πρὸς ὑμᾶς
And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.2καὶ ἵνα ῥυσθῶμεν ἀπὸ τῶν ἀτόπων καὶ πονηρῶν ἀνθρώπων οὐ γὰρ πάντων πίστις
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.3Πιστὸς δέ ἐστιν Κύριος ὃς στηρίξει ὑμᾶς καὶ φυλάξει ἀπὸ τοῦ πονηροῦ
And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.4πεποίθαμεν δὲ ἐν Κυρίῳ ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ὅτι παραγγέλλομεν καὶ ποιεῖτε καὶ ποιήσετε
And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.5 δὲ Κύριος κατευθύναι ὑμῶν τὰς καρδίας εἰς τὴν ἀγάπην τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ εἰς τὴν ὑπομονὴν τοῦ Χριστοῦ
Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.6Παραγγέλλομεν δὲ ὑμῖν ἀδελφοί ἐν ὀνόματι τοῦ Κυρίου ‹ἡμῶν› Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ στέλλεσθαι ὑμᾶς ἀπὸ παντὸς ἀδελφοῦ ἀτάκτως περιπατοῦντος καὶ μὴ κατὰ τὴν παράδοσιν ἣν παρελάβοσαν* παρ’ ἡμῶν
For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;7αὐτοὶ γὰρ οἴδατε πῶς δεῖ μιμεῖσθαι ἡμᾶς ὅτι οὐκ ἠτακτήσαμεν ἐν ὑμῖν
Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:8οὐδὲ δωρεὰν ἄρτον ἐφάγομεν παρά τινος ἀλλ’ ἐν κόπῳ καὶ μόχθῳ νυκτὸς καὶ ἡμέρας ἐργαζόμενοι πρὸς τὸ μὴ ἐπιβαρῆσαί τινα ὑμῶν
Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.9οὐχ ὅτι οὐκ ἔχομεν ἐξουσίαν ἀλλ’ ἵνα ἑαυτοὺς τύπον δῶμεν ὑμῖν εἰς τὸ μιμεῖσθαι ἡμᾶς
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.10καὶ γὰρ ὅτε ἦμεν πρὸς ὑμᾶς τοῦτο παρηγγέλλομεν ὑμῖν ὅτι Εἴ τις οὐ θέλει ἐργάζεσθαι μηδὲ ἐσθιέτω
For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.11Ἀκούομεν γάρ τινας περιπατοῦντας ἐν ὑμῖν ἀτάκτως μηδὲν ἐργαζομένους ἀλλὰ περιεργαζομένους
Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.12τοῖς δὲ τοιούτοις παραγγέλλομεν καὶ παρακαλοῦμεν ἐν Κυρίῳ Ἰησοῦ Χριστῷ ἵνα μετὰ ἡσυχίας ἐργαζόμενοι τὸν ἑαυτῶν ἄρτον ἐσθίωσιν
But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.13Ὑμεῖς δέ ἀδελφοί μὴ ἐγκακήσητε καλοποιοῦντες
And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.14Εἰ δέ τις οὐχ ὑπακούει τῷ λόγῳ ἡμῶν διὰ τῆς ἐπιστολῆς τοῦτον σημειοῦσθε μὴ συναναμίγνυσθαι αὐτῷ ἵνα ἐντραπῇ
Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.15καὶ μὴ ὡς ἐχθρὸν ἡγεῖσθε ἀλλὰ νουθετεῖτε ὡς ἀδελφόν
Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.16Αὐτὸς δὲ Κύριος τῆς εἰρήνης δῴη ὑμῖν τὴν εἰρήνην διὰ παντὸς ἐν παντὶ τρόπῳ Κύριος μετὰ πάντων ὑμῶν
The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.17 ἀσπασμὸς τῇ ἐμῇ χειρὶ Παύλου ἐστιν σημεῖον ἐν πάσῃ ἐπιστολῇ οὕτως γράφω
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. 18 χάρις τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ μετὰ πάντων ὑμῶν ⧼Ἀμήν⧽
