The Slaughter of Gog’s Armies

1  וְאַתָּ֤ה (And you) בֶן־ (son) אָדָם֙ (of man), הִנָּבֵ֣א (prophesy) עַל־ (against) גּ֔וֹג (Gog), וְאָ֣מַרְתָּ֔ (and say), כֹּ֥ה (thus) אָמַ֖ר (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהוִ֑ה (YHWH); הִנְנִ֤י (behold, I am) אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ (against you) גּ֔וֹג (O Gog), נְשִׂ֕יא (prince) רֹ֖אשׁ (chief) מֶ֥שֶׁךְ (of Meshech) וְתֻבָֽל׃ (and Tubal); 2  וְשֹׁבַבְתִּ֙יךָ֙ (and I will turn you around), וְשִׁשֵּׁאתִ֔יךָ (and will lead you on) וְהַעֲלִיתִ֖יךָ (and I will bring you up) מִיַּרְכְּתֵ֣י (from the extremities), צָפ֑וֹן (of the north) וַהֲבִאוֹתִ֖ךָ (and I will bring you) עַל־ (against) הָרֵ֥י (the mountains) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (of Israel). 3  וְהִכֵּיתִ֥י (And I will strike) קַשְׁתְּךָ֖ (the bow) מִיַּ֣ד (from the hand), שְׂמֹאולֶ֑ךָ (of your left) וְחִצֶּ֕יךָ (and the arrows) מִיַּ֥ד (from the hand) יְמִינְךָ֖ (of your right) אַפִּֽיל׃ (I will make fall).

4  עַל־ (Upon) הָרֵ֨י (the mountains) יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל (of Israel), תִּפּ֗וֹל (you will fall) אַתָּה֙ (you), וְכָל־ (and all) אֲגַפֶּ֔יךָ (your troops), וְעַמִּ֖ים (and the nations) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (who are) אִתָּ֑ךְ (with you) לְעֵ֨יט (to be the prey) צִפּ֧וֹר (of birds of) כָּל־ (every) כָּנָ֛ף (sort), וְחַיַּ֥ת (and to the beasts) הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה (of the field) נְתַתִּ֥יךָ (I will give you) לְאָכְלָֽה׃ (as food). 5  עַל־ (Upon) פְּנֵ֥י (the face) הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה (of the field); תִּפּ֑וֹל (you will fall) כִּ֚י (for) אֲנִ֣י (I) דִבַּ֔רְתִּי (have spoken) נְאֻ֖ם (a declaration) אֲדֹנָ֥י (of the Lord) יְהוִֽה׃ (YHWH).

6  וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי־ (And I will send) אֵ֣שׁ (fire) בְּמָג֔וֹג (on Magog), וּבְיֹשְׁבֵ֥י (and on those dwelling on) הָאִיִּ֖ים (the islands); לָבֶ֑טַח (in security) וְיָדְע֖וּ (and they will know) כִּי־ (that) אֲנִ֥י (I am) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH). 7  וְאֶת־ (And) שֵׁ֨ם (the name) קָדְשִׁ֜י (of My holiness) אוֹדִ֗יעַ (I will make known) בְּתוֹךְ֙ (in the midst) עַמִּ֣י (of My people) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (Israel); וְלֹֽא־ (and not) אַחֵ֥ל (I will let be profaned) אֶת־ (-) שֵׁם־ (the name) קָדְשִׁ֖י (of My holiness) ע֑וֹד (anymore). וְיָדְע֤וּ (And will know) הַגּוֹיִם֙ (the nations) כִּי־ (that) אֲנִ֣י (I am) יְהוָ֔ה (YHWH), קָד֖וֹשׁ (the Holy One) בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (in Israel). 8  הִנֵּ֤ה (Behold), בָאָה֙ (it is coming), וְנִֽהְיָ֔תָה (and it will come to pass), נְאֻ֖ם (a declaration) אֲדֹנָ֣י (of the Lord) יְהוִ֑ה (YHWH) ה֥וּא (it is) הַיּ֖וֹם (the day) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (of which) דִּבַּֽרְתִּי׃ (I have spoken).

9  וְֽיָצְא֞וּ (And will go out), יֹשְׁבֵ֣י׀ (those dwelling in) עָרֵ֣י (the cities) יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל (of Israel) וּבִעֲר֡וּ (and will set on fire) וְ֠הִשִּׂיקוּ (and will burn) בְּנֶ֨שֶׁק (the weapons), וּמָגֵ֤ן (and the shields) וְצִנָּה֙ (and bucklers), בְּקֶ֣שֶׁת (the bows) וּבְחִצִּ֔ים (and arrows), וּבְמַקֵּ֥ל (and) יָ֖ד (the javelins), וּבְרֹ֑מַח (and spears), וּבִעֲר֥וּ (and they will burn) בָהֶ֛ם (with them) אֵ֖שׁ (fire) שֶׁ֥בַע (seven) שָׁנִֽים׃ (years); 10  וְלֹֽא־ (and not) יִשְׂא֨וּ (they will carry) עֵצִ֜ים (wood) מִן־ (from) הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה (the field), וְלֹ֤א (and not) יַחְטְבוּ֙ (they will cut down) מִן־ (from) הַיְּעָרִ֔ים (the forests); כִּ֥י (because) בַנֶּ֖שֶׁק (with the weapons) יְבַֽעֲרוּ־ (they will be able to burn) אֵ֑שׁ (fire); וְשָׁלְל֣וּ (and they will plunder) אֶת־ (-) שֹׁלְלֵיהֶ֗ם (those who plundered them) וּבָֽזְזוּ֙ (and they will pillage) אֶת־ (-) בֹּ֣זְזֵיהֶ֔ם (those who pillaged them) נְאֻ֖ם (a declaration) אֲדֹנָ֥י (of the Lord) יְהוִֽה׃ס (YHWH).

11  וְהָיָ֣ה (And it will come to pass) בַיּ֣וֹם (on the day), הַה֡וּא (that) אֶתֵּ֣ן (that I will give) לְגוֹג֩׀ (for Gog) מְקֽוֹם־ (a place) שָׁ֨ם (there) קֶ֜בֶר (for burial) בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל (in Israel), גֵּ֤י (the valley) הָעֹֽבְרִים֙ (of those passing by) קִדְמַ֣ת (east) הַיָּ֔ם (of the sea), וְחֹסֶ֥מֶת (and will block) הִ֖יא (it) אֶת־ (-) הָעֹֽבְרִ֑ים (those passing by); וְקָ֣בְרוּ (and for they will bury) שָׁ֗ם (there) אֶת־ (-) גּוֹג֙ (Gog) וְאֶת־ (and) כָּל־ (all) הֲמוֹנֹ֔ה (his multitude), וְקָ֣רְא֔וּ (and they will call it) גֵּ֖יא (the Valley) הֲמ֥וֹן (of Hamon-) גּֽוֹג׃ (gog). 12  וּקְבָרוּם֙ (And will be burying them) בֵּ֣ית (the house) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel) לְמַ֖עַן (in order) טַהֵ֣ר (to cleanse) אֶת־ (-) הָאָ֑רֶץ (the land) שִׁבְעָ֖ה (seven) חֳדָשִֽׁים׃ (months). 13  וְקָֽבְרוּ֙ (Will be burying) כָּל־ (all) עַ֣ם (the people) הָאָ֔רֶץ (of the land) וְהָיָ֥ה (and they will be) לָהֶ֖ם (unto them) לְשֵׁ֑ם (for renown) י֚וֹם (on the day of) הִכָּ֣בְדִ֔י (My being glorified), נְאֻ֖ם (a declaration) אֲדֹנָ֥י (of the Lord) יְהוִֽה׃ (YHWH).

14  וְאַנְשֵׁ֨י (And men) תָמִ֤יד (continually), יַבְדִּ֙ילוּ֙ (they will set apart) עֹבְרִ֣ים (to pass) בָּאָ֔רֶץ (through the land) מְקַבְּרִ֣ים (burying) אֶת־ (-) הָעֹבְרִ֗ים (the passers-by) אֶת־ (-) הַנּוֹתָרִ֛ים (remaining) עַל־ (on) פְּנֵ֥י (the face) הָאָ֖רֶץ (of the ground), לְטַֽהֲרָ֑הּ (to cleanse it) מִקְצֵ֥ה (at the end) שִׁבְעָֽה־ (of seven) חֳדָשִׁ֖ים (months) יַחְקֹֽרוּ׃ (they will make a search). 15  וְעָבְר֤וּ (And those passing by) הָעֹֽבְרִים֙ (will pass) בָּאָ֔רֶץ (through the land), וְרָאָה֙ (and having seen) עֶ֣צֶם (a bone), אָדָ֔ם (of a man) וּבָנָ֥ה (and he will construct) אֶצְל֖וֹ (beside it) צִיּ֑וּן (a sign) עַ֣ד (until) קָבְר֤וּ (have buried) אֹתוֹ֙ (it) הַֽמְקַבְּרִ֔ים (those burying) אֶל־ (in) גֵּ֖יא (the Valley) הֲמ֥וֹן (of Hamon-) גּֽוֹג׃ (gog). 16  וְגַ֥ם (Also) שֶׁם־ (the name) עִ֛יר (of the city) הֲמוֹנָ֖ה (is Hamonah). וְטִהֲר֥וּ (And they will cleanse) הָאָֽרֶץ׃ס (the land).

17  וְאַתָּ֨ה (And you) בֶן־ (son) אָדָ֜ם (of man), כֹּֽה־ (thus) אָמַ֣ר׀ (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהֹוִ֗ה (YHWH); אֱמֹר֩ (Say) לְצִפּ֨וֹר (to the bird), כָּל־ (of every) כָּנָ֜ף (wing) וּלְכֹ֣ל׀ (and to every) חַיַּ֣ת (beast) הַשָּׂדֶ֗ה (of the field), הִקָּבְצ֤וּ (Gather yourselves), וָבֹ֙אוּ֙ (and come); הֵאָסְפ֣וּ (gather together) מִסָּבִ֔יב (from all around) עַל־ (to) זִבְחִ֗י (My sacrifice) אֲשֶׁ֨ר (that) אֲנִ֜י (I) זֹבֵ֤חַ (am sacrificing) לָכֶם֙ (for you⁺) זֶ֣בַח (sacrifice) גָּד֔וֹל (great) עַ֖ל (on) הָרֵ֣י (the mountains) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (of Israel), וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֥ם (that you⁺ may eat) בָּשָׂ֖ר (flesh), וּשְׁתִ֥יתֶם (and drink) דָּֽם׃ (blood). 18  בְּשַׂ֤ר (The flesh) גִּבּוֹרִים֙ (of the mighty ones), תֹּאכֵ֔לוּ (you⁺ will eat) וְדַם־ (and the blood) נְשִׂיאֵ֥י (of the princes) הָאָ֖רֶץ (of the earth), תִּשְׁתּ֑וּ (you⁺ will drink) אֵילִ֨ים (rams), כָּרִ֤ים (lambs), וְעַתּוּדִים֙ (and goats), פָּרִ֔ים (and bulls), מְרִיאֵ֥י (fatlings) בָשָׁ֖ן (of Bashan) כֻּלָּֽם׃ (all of them). 19  וַאֲכַלְתֶּם־ (And you⁺ will eat) חֵ֣לֶב (fat) לְשָׂבְעָ֔ה (to fullness), וּשְׁתִ֥יתֶם (and you⁺ will drink) דָּ֖ם (blood) לְשִׁכָּר֑וֹן (to drunkenness), מִזִּבְחִ֖י (at My sacrifice) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) זָבַ֥חְתִּי (I am sacrificing) לָכֶֽם׃ (for you⁺). 20  וּשְׂבַעְתֶּ֤ם (And you⁺ will be filled) עַל־ (at) שֻׁלְחָנִי֙ (My table) ס֣וּס (with horses) וָרֶ֔כֶב (and riders), גִּבּ֖וֹר (with mighty ones), וְכָל־ (and with all) אִ֣ישׁ (the men) מִלְחָמָ֑ה (of war), נְאֻ֖ם (a declaration) אֲדֹנָ֥י (of the Lord) יְהוִֽה׃ (YHWH).

Israel to Be Restored

21  וְנָתַתִּ֥י (And I will give forth) אֶת־ (-) כְּבוֹדִ֖י (My glory) בַּגּוֹיִ֑ם (among the nations), וְרָא֣וּ (and will see) כָל־ (all) הַגּוֹיִ֗ם (the nations) אֶת־ (-) מִשְׁפָּטִי֙ (My judgment) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) עָשִׂ֔יתִי (I have made), וְאֶת־ (and) יָדִ֖י (My hand) אֲשֶׁר־ (that) שַׂ֥מְתִּי (I have set) בָהֶֽם׃ (upon them). 22  וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ (And will know) בֵּ֣ית (the house) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel) כִּ֛י (that) אֲנִ֥י (I am) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶ֑ם (their God) מִן־ (from) הַיּ֥וֹם (the day) הַה֖וּא (that) וָהָֽלְאָה׃ (and forward). 23  וְיָדְע֣וּ (And will know) הַ֠גּוֹיִם (the nations) כִּ֣י (that) בַעֲוֺנָ֞ם (for their iniquity); גָּל֣וּ (that went into captivity) בֵֽית־ (the house) יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל (of Israel) עַ֚ל (upon) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) מָֽעֲלוּ־ (they were unfaithful) בִ֔י (to Me) וָאַסְתִּ֥ר (and I hid) פָּנַ֖י (My face) מֵהֶ֑ם (from them) וָֽאֶתְּנֵם֙ (and I gave them) בְּיַ֣ד (into the hand) צָרֵיהֶ֔ם (of their enemies), וַיִּפְּל֥וּ (and fell) בַחֶ֖רֶב (by the sword) כֻּלָּֽם׃ (all of them). 24  כְּטֻמְאָתָ֥ם (According to their uncleanness) וּכְפִשְׁעֵיהֶ֖ם (and according to their transgressions) עָשִׂ֣יתִי (I have dealt) אֹתָ֑ם (with them) וָאַסְתִּ֥ר (and I have hidden) פָּנַ֖י (My face) מֵהֶֽם׃ס (from them).

25  לָכֵ֗ן (Therefore) כֹּ֤ה (thus) אָמַר֙ (says) אֲדֹנָ֣י (the Lord) יְהוִ֔ה (YHWH) עַתָּ֗ה (Now) אָשִׁיב֙ (I will turn back) אֶת־ (-) שְׁבִית (the captivity) יַֽעֲקֹ֔ב (of Jacob), וְרִֽחַמְתִּ֖י (and I will have compassion) כָּל־ (on all) בֵּ֣ית (the house) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (of Israel), וְקִנֵּאתִ֖י (and I will be jealous) לְשֵׁ֥ם (for the name); קָדְשִֽׁי׃ (of My holiness). 26  וְנָשׂוּ֙ (And they will bear) אֶת־ (-) כְּלִמָּתָ֔ם (their shame), וְאֶת־ (and) כָּל־ (all) מַעֲלָ֖ם (their unfaithfulness) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (by which) מָעֲלוּ־ (they were unfaithful) בִ֑י (with Me) בְּשִׁבְתָּ֧ם (in their dwelling) עַל־ (upon) אַדְמָתָ֛ם (their own land), לָבֶ֖טַח (in safety) וְאֵ֥ין (and not) מַחֲרִֽיד׃ (one to frighten them). 27  בְּשׁוֹבְבִ֤י (In My returning) אוֹתָם֙ (them) מִן־ (from) הָ֣עַמִּ֔ים (the peoples), וְקִבַּצְתִּ֣י (and I have gathered) אֹתָ֔ם (them) מֵֽאַרְצ֖וֹת (from the lands), אֹֽיְבֵיהֶ֑ם (of their enemies) וְנִקְדַּ֣שְׁתִּי (and I will show My holiness) בָ֔ם (in them) לְעֵינֵ֖י (before the eyes) הַגּוֹיִ֥ם (of the nations); רַבִּֽים׃ (many). 28  וְיָדְע֗וּ (And they will know) כִּ֣י (that) אֲנִ֤י (I am) יְהוָה֙ (YHWH) אֱלֹ֣הֵיהֶ֔ם (their God), בְּהַגְלוֹתִ֤י (in My sending into captivity) אֹתָם֙ (them) אֶל־ (among) הַגּוֹיִ֔ם (the nations), וְכִנַּסְתִּ֖ים (and I will gather them) עַל־ (upon) אַדְמָתָ֑ם (their land), וְלֹֽא־ (and not) אוֹתִ֥יר (will I leave remaining) ע֛וֹד (any longer) מֵהֶ֖ם (them) שָֽׁם׃ (there). 29  וְלֹֽא־ (And not) אַסְתִּ֥יר (will I hide) ע֛וֹד (anymore) פָּנַ֖י (My face) מֵהֶ֑ם (from them) אֲשֶׁ֨ר (when) שָׁפַ֤כְתִּי (I pour out) אֶת־ (-) רוּחִי֙ (My Spirit) עַל־ (on) בֵּ֣ית (the house) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel), נְאֻ֖ם (a declaration) אֲדֹנָ֥י (of the Lord) יְהוִֽה׃פ (YHWH).
