2	and he reigned in Jerusalem three years. His mother’s name was Maacah daughter of Abishalom.	He reigned for three years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.	Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name <i>was</i> Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom. 3	And Abijam walked in all the sins that his father before him had committed, and his heart was not as fully devoted to the LORD his God as the heart of David his forefather had been.	And he walked in all the sins that his father did before him, and his heart was not wholly true to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.	And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.	He walked in all the sins of his father which he had committed before him; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the LORD his God, like the heart of his father David.	He committed all the sins his father had done before him; his heart was not fully devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his forefather had been.
4	Nevertheless, for the sake of David, the LORD his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by raising up a son to succeed him and to make Jerusalem strong.	Nevertheless, for David’s sake the LORD his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, setting up his son after him, and establishing Jerusalem,	Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:	But for David’s sake the LORD his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to raise up his son after him and to establish Jerusalem,	Nevertheless, for David’s sake the LORD his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem by raising up a son to succeed him and by making Jerusalem strong.
5	For David had done what was right in the eyes of the LORD and had not turned aside from anything the LORD commanded all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.	because David did what was right in the eyes of the LORD and did not turn aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite. There was war between Abijah and Jeroboam throughout Abijah’s lifetime.
7	As for the rest of the acts of Abijam, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.	The rest of the acts of Abijam and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam. 8	And Abijam rested with his fathers and was buried in the City of David, and his son Asa reigned in his place.	And Abijam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David. And Asa his son reigned in his place.	And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.	And Abijam lay down with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David; and his son Asa became king in his place.	And Abijah rested with his ancestors and was buried in the City of David. And Asa his son succeeded him as king.
9	In the twentieth year of Jeroboam’s reign over Israel, Asa became king of Judah,	In the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa began to reign over Judah,	And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah. 10	and he reigned in Jerusalem forty-one years. His grandmother’s name was Maacah daughter of Abishalom.	and he reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.	And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name <i>was</i> Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.	He reigned for forty-one years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom.	and he reigned in Jerusalem forty-one years. 11	And Asa did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, as his father David had done.	And Asa did what was right in the eyes of the LORD, as David his father had done.	And Asa did <i>that which was</i> right in the eyes of the LORD, as <i>did</i> David his father.	Now Asa did what was right in the sight of the LORD, like his father David. 12	He banished the male shrine prostitutes from the land and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.	He put away the male cult prostitutes out of the land and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.	And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.	He also removed the male cult prostitutes from the land and removed all the idols which his fathers had made.	He expelled the male shrine prostitutes from the land and got rid of all the idols his ancestors had made.
13	He also removed his grandmother Maacah from her position as queen mother because she had made a detestable Asherah pole. Asa chopped down the pole and burned it in the Kidron Valley.	He also removed Maacah his mother from being queen mother because she had made an abominable image for Asherah. And Asa cut down her image and burned it at the brook Kidron.	And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from <i>being</i> queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt <i>it</i> by the brook Kidron.	And even his mother Maacah, he also removed her from <i>the position of</i> queen mother, because she had made an abominable image as an Asherah; and Asa cut down her abominable image and burned <i>it</i> at the brook Kidron.	He even deposed his grandmother Maakah from her position as queen mother, because she had made a repulsive image for the worship of Asherah. Asa cut it down and burned it in the Kidron Valley.
14	The high places were not removed, but Asa’s heart was fully devoted to the LORD all his days.	But the high places were not taken away. Nevertheless, the heart of Asa was wholly true to the LORD all his days.	But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.	But the high places were not eliminated; nevertheless Asa’s heart was wholly devoted to the LORD all his days. 15	And he brought into the house of the LORD the silver and gold and other articles that he and his father had dedicated.	And he brought into the house of the LORD the sacred gifts of his father and his own sacred gifts, silver, and gold, and vessels.	And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.	And he brought into the house of the LORD the holy gifts of his father and his own holy gifts: silver, gold, and <i>valuable</i> utensils.	He brought into the temple of the LORD the silver and gold and the articles that he and his father had dedicated.
16	Now there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel throughout their days.	And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.	And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.	Now there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.	There was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel throughout their reigns.
17	Baasha king of Israel went to war against Judah and fortified Ramah to prevent anyone from leaving or entering the territory of Asa king of Judah.	Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah and built Ramah, that he might permit no one to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.	And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.	Baasha king of Israel marched against Judah and fortified Ramah in order to prevent <i>anyone</i> from going out or coming in to Asa king of Judah.	Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah and fortified Ramah to prevent anyone from leaving or entering the territory of Asa king of Judah.
18	So Asa withdrew all the silver and gold that remained in the treasuries of the house of the LORD and the royal palace. He entrusted it to his servants and sent them with this message to Ben-hadad son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus:	Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD and the treasures of the king’s house and gave them into the hands of his servants. And King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who lived in Damascus, saying,	Then Asa took all the silver and the gold <i>that were</i> left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,	Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that was left in the treasuries of the house of the LORD and the treasuries of the king’s house, and handed it over to his servants. And King Asa sent them to Ben-hadad the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, king of Aram, who lived in Damascus, saying,	Asa then took all the silver and gold that was left in the treasuries of the LORD’s temple and of his own palace. He entrusted it to his officials and sent them to Ben-Hadad son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, the king of Aram, who was ruling in Damascus.
19	“Let there be a treaty between me and you, between my father and your father. See, I have sent you a gift of silver and gold. Now go and break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel, so that he will withdraw from me.”	“Let there be a covenant between me and you, as there was between my father and your father. Behold, I am sending to you a present of silver and gold. Go, break your covenant with Baasha king of Israel, that he may withdraw from me.”	<i>There is</i> a league between me and thee, <i>and</i> between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.	“<i>Let’s make</i> a treaty between you and me, <i>as there was</i> between my father and your father. Behold, I have sent you a gift of silver and gold; go, break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel so that he will withdraw from me.”	“Let there be a treaty between me and you,” he said, “as there was between my father and your father. See, I am sending you a gift of silver and gold. Now break your treaty with Baasha king of Israel so he will withdraw from me.”
20	And Ben-hadad listened to King Asa and sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Israel, conquering Ijon, Dan, Abel-beth-maacah, and the whole land of Naphtali, including the region of Chinnereth.	And Ben-hadad listened to King Asa and sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Israel and conquered Ijon, Dan, Abel-beth-maacah, and all Chinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.	So Benhadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abelbethmaachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.	So Ben-hadad listened to King Asa and sent the commanders of his armies against the cities of Israel, and conquered Ijon, Dan, Abel-beth-maacah, and all Chinneroth, besides all the land of Naphtali.	Ben-Hadad agreed with King Asa and sent the commanders of his forces against the towns of Israel. He conquered Ijon, Dan, Abel Beth Maakah and all Kinnereth in addition to Naphtali.
21	When Baasha learned of this, he stopped fortifying Ramah and withdrew to Tirzah.	And when Baasha heard of it, he stopped building Ramah, and he lived in Tirzah.	And it came to pass, when Baasha heard <i>thereof</i>, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.	When Baasha heard <i>about it,</i> he stopped fortifying Ramah and remained in Tirzah.	When Baasha heard this, he stopped building Ramah and withdrew to Tirzah.
22	Then King Asa summoned all the men of Judah, with no exceptions, and they carried away the stones of Ramah and the timbers Baasha had used for building. And with these materials King Asa built up Geba of Benjamin, as well as Mizpah.	Then King Asa made a proclamation to all Judah, none was exempt, and they carried away the stones of Ramah and its timber, with which Baasha had been building, and with them King Asa built Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah.	Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none <i>was</i> exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.	Then King Asa made a proclamation to all Judah—no one was exempt—and they carried away the stones of Ramah and its timber with which Baasha had built <i>fortifications.</i> And King Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah.	Then King Asa issued an order to all Judah—no one was exempt—and they carried away from Ramah the stones and timber Baasha had been using there. With them King Asa built up Geba in Benjamin, and also Mizpah.
23	Now the rest of the acts of Asa, along with all his might, all his accomplishments, and the cities he built, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? In his old age, however, he became diseased in his feet.	Now the rest of all the acts of Asa, all his might, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? But in his old age he was diseased in his feet.	The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, <i>are</i> they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.	Now <i>as for</i> the rest of all the acts of Asa and all his might, and all that he did and the cities which he built, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet. 24	And Asa rested with his fathers and was buried with them in the city of his father David, and his son Jehoshaphat reigned in his place. 25	In the second year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Nadab son of Jeroboam became king of Israel, and he reigned two years.	Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigned over Israel two years.	And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.	Now Nadab the son of Jeroboam became king over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigned over Israel for two years.	Nadab son of Jeroboam became king of Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigned over Israel two years.
26	And he did evil in the sight of the LORD and walked in the way of his father and in his sin, which he had caused Israel to commit.	He did what was evil in the sight of the LORD and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin which he made Israel to sin.	And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.	He did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father and in his sin into which he misled Israel.	He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, following the ways of his father and committing the same sin his father had caused Israel to commit.
27	Then Baasha son of Ahijah of the house of Issachar conspired against Nadab, and Baasha struck him down at Gibbethon of the Philistines while Nadab and all Israel were besieging the city.	Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him. And Baasha struck him down at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines, for Nadab and all Israel were laying siege to Gibbethon.	And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which <i>belonged</i> to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.	Then Baasha the son of Ahijah of the house of Issachar conspired against him, and Baasha struck and killed him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines, while Nadab and all Israel were laying siege to Gibbethon.	Baasha son of Ahijah from the tribe of Issachar plotted against him, and he struck him down at Gibbethon, a Philistine town, while Nadab and all Israel were besieging it.
28	In the third year of Asa’s reign over Judah, Baasha killed Nadab and reigned in his place.	So Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa king of Judah and reigned in his place.	Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.	So Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.	Baasha killed Nadab in the third year of Asa king of Judah and succeeded him as king.
29	As soon as Baasha became king, he struck down the entire household of Jeroboam. He did not leave to Jeroboam anyone that breathed, but destroyed them all according to the word that the LORD had spoken through His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,	And as soon as he was king, he killed all the house of Jeroboam. He left to the house of Jeroboam not one that breathed, until he had destroyed it, according to the word of the LORD that he spoke by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite.	And it came to pass, when he reigned, <i>that</i> he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:	And as soon as he was king, he struck and killed all the household of Jeroboam. He did not leave Jeroboam any persons alive, <i>but kept killing</i> until he had eliminated them, in accordance with the word of the LORD which He spoke by His servant Ahijah the Shilonite,	As soon as he began to reign, he killed Jeroboam’s whole family. He did not leave Jeroboam anyone that breathed, but destroyed them all, according to the word of the LORD given through his servant Ahijah the Shilonite.
30	because of the sins Jeroboam had committed and had caused Israel to commit, and because he had provoked the LORD, the God of Israel, to anger.	It was for the sins of Jeroboam that he sinned and that he made Israel to sin, and because of the anger to which he provoked the LORD, the God of Israel.	Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.	<i>and</i> because of the sins of Jeroboam which he committed, and into which he misled Israel, because of his provocation with which he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.	This happened because of the sins Jeroboam had committed and had caused Israel to commit, and because he aroused the anger of the LORD, the God of Israel.
31	As for the rest of the acts of Nadab, along with all his accomplishments, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?	Now the rest of the acts of Nadab and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?	Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, <i>are</i> they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?	Now <i>as for</i> the rest of the acts of Nadab and all that he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
