The LORD spoke to Moses:1Then the LORD said to Moses,
"Speak to the Israelites and tell them, 'These are the LORD's appointed times which you must proclaim as holy assemblies--my appointed times: 2“Speak to the Israelites and say to them, ‘These are My appointed feasts, the feasts of the LORD that you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies.
"'Six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there must be a Sabbath of complete rest, a holy assembly. You must not do any work; it is a Sabbath to the LORD in all the places where you live. 3For six days work may be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, a day of sacred assembly. You must not do any work; wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to the LORD.
"'These are the LORD's appointed times, holy assemblies, which you must proclaim at their appointed time.4These are the LORD’s appointed feasts, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times.
In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at twilight, is a Passover offering to the LORD.5The Passover to the LORD begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month.
Then on the fifteenth day of the same month will be the festival of unleavened bread to the LORD; seven days you must eat unleavened bread.6On the fifteenth day of the same month begins the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the LORD. For seven days you must eat unleavened bread.
On the first day there will be a holy assembly for you; you must not do any regular work.7On the first day you are to hold a sacred assembly; you are not to do any regular work.
You must present a gift to the LORD for seven days, and the seventh day is a holy assembly; you must not do any regular work.'" 8For seven days you are to present an offering made by fire to the LORD. On the seventh day there shall be a sacred assembly; you must not do any regular work.’ ”
The LORD spoke to Moses:9And the LORD said to Moses,
"Speak to the Israelites and tell them, 'When you enter the land that I am about to give to you and you gather in its harvest, then you must bring the sheaf of the first portion of your harvest to the priest,10“Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘When you enter the land that I am giving you and you reap its harvest, you are to bring to the priest a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest.
and he must wave the sheaf before the LORD to be accepted for your benefit--on the day after the Sabbath the priest is to wave it.11And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD so that it may be accepted on your behalf; the priest is to wave it on the day after the Sabbath.
On the day you wave the sheaf you must also offer a flawless yearling lamb for a burnt offering to the LORD,12On the day you wave the sheaf, you shall offer a year-old lamb without blemish as a burnt offering to the LORD,
along with its grain offering, two tenths of an ephah of choice wheat flour mixed with olive oil, as a gift to the LORD, a soothing aroma, and its drink offering, one fourth of a hin of wine.13along with its grain offering of two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour mixed with oil—an offering made by fire to the LORD, a pleasing aroma—and its drink offering of a quarter hin of wine.
You must not eat bread, roasted grain, or fresh grain until this very day, until you bring the offering of your God. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all the places where you live. 14You must not eat any bread or roasted or new grain until the very day you have brought this offering to your God. This is to be a permanent statute for the generations to come, wherever you live.
"'You must count for yourselves seven weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day you bring the wave offering sheaf; they must be complete weeks.15From the day after the Sabbath, the day you brought the sheaf of the wave offering, you are to count off seven full weeks.
You must count fifty days--until the day after the seventh Sabbath--and then you must present a new grain offering to the LORD.16You shall count off fifty days until the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then present an offering of new grain to the LORD.
From the places where you live you must bring two loaves of bread for a wave offering; they must be made from two tenths of an ephah of fine wheat flour, baked with yeast, as first fruits to the LORD.17Bring two loaves of bread from your dwellings as a wave offering, each made from two-tenths of an ephah of fine flour, baked with leaven, as the firstfruits to the LORD.
Along with the loaves of bread, you must also present seven flawless yearling lambs, one young bull, and two rams. They are to be a burnt offering to the LORD along with their grain offering and drink offerings, a gift of a soothing aroma to the LORD.18Along with the bread you are to present seven unblemished male lambs a year old, one young bull, and two rams. They will be a burnt offering to the LORD, together with their grain offerings and drink offerings—an offering made by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
You must also offer one male goat for a sin offering and two yearling lambs for a peace offering sacrifice,19You shall also prepare one male goat as a sin offering and two male lambs a year old as a peace offering.
and the priest is to wave them--the two lambs--along with the bread of the first fruits, as a wave offering before the LORD; they will be holy to the LORD for the priest. 20The priest is to wave the lambs as a wave offering before the LORD, together with the bread of the firstfruits. The bread and the two lambs shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.
"'On this very day you must proclaim an assembly; it is to be a holy assembly for you. You must not do any regular work. This is a perpetual statute in all the places where you live throughout your generations.21On that same day you are to proclaim a sacred assembly, and you must not do any regular work. This is to be a permanent statute wherever you live for the generations to come.
When you gather in the harvest of your land, you must not completely harvest the corner of your field, and you must not gather up the gleanings of your harvest. You must leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the LORD your God.'" 22When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap all the way to the edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and the foreign resident. I am the LORD your God.’ ”
The LORD spoke to Moses:23The LORD also said to Moses,
"Tell the Israelites, 'In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you must have a complete rest, a memorial announced by loud horn blasts, a holy assembly.24“Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day of rest, a sacred assembly announced by trumpet blasts.
You must not do any regular work, but you must present a gift to the LORD.'" 25You must not do any regular work, but you are to present an offering made by fire to the LORD.’ ”
The LORD spoke to Moses:26Again the LORD said to Moses,
"The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. It is to be a holy assembly for you, and you must humble yourselves and present a gift to the LORD.27“The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. You shall hold a sacred assembly and humble yourselves, and present an offering made by fire to the LORD.
You must not do any work on this particular day, because it is a day of atonement to make atonement for yourselves before the LORD your God.28On this day you are not to do any work, for it is the Day of Atonement, when atonement is made for you before the LORD your God.
Indeed, any person who does not behave with humility on this particular day will be cut off from his people.29If anyone does not humble himself on this day, he must be cut off from his people.
As for any person who does any work on this particular day, I will exterminate that person from the midst of his people!30I will destroy from among his people anyone who does any work on this day.
You must not do any work. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all the places where you live.31You are not to do any work at all. This is a permanent statute for the generations to come, wherever you live.
It is a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must humble yourselves on the ninth day of the month in the evening, from evening until evening you must observe your Sabbath." 32It will be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you shall humble yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to keep your Sabbath.”
The LORD spoke to Moses:33And the LORD said to Moses,
"Tell the Israelites, 'On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the Festival of Temporary Shelters for seven days to the LORD.34“Speak to the Israelites and say, ‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the Feast of Tabernacles to the LORD begins, and it continues for seven days.
On the first day is a holy assembly; you must do no regular work.35On the first day there shall be a sacred assembly. You must not do any regular work.
For seven days you must present a gift to the LORD. On the eighth day there is to be a holy assembly for you, and you must present a gift to the LORD. It is a solemn assembly day; you must not do any regular work. 36For seven days you are to present an offering made by fire to the LORD. On the eighth day you are to hold a sacred assembly and present an offering made by fire to the LORD. It is a solemn assembly; you must not do any regular work.
"'These are the appointed times of the LORD that you must proclaim as holy assemblies to present a gift to the LORD--burnt offering, grain offering, sacrifice, and drink offerings, each day according to its regulation,37These are the LORD’s appointed feasts, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies for presenting offerings by fire to the LORD—burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its designated day.
besides the Sabbaths of the LORD and all your gifts, votive offerings, and freewill offerings which you must give to the LORD. 38These offerings are in addition to the offerings for the LORD’s Sabbaths, and in addition to your gifts, to all your vow offerings, and to all the freewill offerings you give to the LORD.
"'On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you gather in the produce of the land, you must celebrate a pilgrim festival of the LORD for seven days. On the first day is a complete rest and on the eighth day is complete rest.39On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, after you have gathered the produce of the land, you are to celebrate a feast to the LORD for seven days. There shall be complete rest on the first day and also on the eighth day.
On the first day you must take for yourselves branches from majestic trees--palm branches, branches of leafy trees, and willows of the brook--and you must rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days.40On the first day you are to gather the fruit of majestic trees, the branches of palm trees, and the boughs of leafy trees and of willows of the brook. And you are to rejoice before the LORD your God for seven days.
You must celebrate it as a pilgrim festival to the LORD for seven days in the year. This is a perpetual statute throughout your generations; you must celebrate it in the seventh month.41You are to celebrate this as a feast to the LORD for seven days each year. This is a permanent statute for the generations to come; you are to celebrate it in the seventh month.
You must live in temporary shelters for seven days; every native citizen in Israel must live in temporary shelters,42You are to dwell in booths for seven days. All the native-born of Israel must dwell in booths,
so that your future generations may know that I made the Israelites live in temporary shelters when I brought them out from the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.'" 43so that your descendants may know that I made the Israelites dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.’ ”
So Moses spoke to the Israelites about the appointed times of the LORD. 44So Moses announced to the Israelites the appointed feasts of the LORD.
