And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the LORD commanded Moses.1They made specially woven garments for ministry in the sanctuary, and the holy garments for Aaron from the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.2Bezalel made the ephod of gold, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and of finely spun linen.
And they did beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, with cunning work.3They hammered out thin sheets of gold, and he cut threads from them to interweave with the blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and the fine linen in a skillful design.
They made shoulderpieces for it, to couple it together: by the two edges was it coupled together.4They made shoulder pieces for attaching it; it was joined together at its two edges.
And the curious girdle of his ephod, that was upon it, was of the same, according to the work thereof; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen; as the LORD commanded Moses.5The artistically woven waistband that was on the ephod was of one piece with the ephod, according to the same workmanship of gold, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and of finely spun linen, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And they wrought onyx stones inclosed in ouches of gold, graven, as signets are graven, with the names of the children of Israel.6Then they mounted the onyx stones surrounded with gold filigree settings, engraved with the names of Israel's sons as a gem cutter engraves a seal.
And he put them on the shoulders of the ephod, that they should be stones for a memorial to the children of Israel; as the LORD commanded Moses.7He fastened them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the Israelites, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And he made the breastplate of cunning work, like the work of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.8He also made the embroidered breastpiece with the same workmanship as the ephod of gold, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and of finely spun linen.
It was foursquare; they made the breastplate double: a span was the length thereof, and a span the breadth thereof, being doubled.9They made the breastpiece square and folded double, nine inches long and nine inches wide.
And they set in it four rows of stones: the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this was the first row.10They mounted four rows of gemstones on it. The first row was a row of carnelian, topaz, and emerald;
And the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond.11the second row, a turquoise, a sapphire, and a diamond;
And the third row, a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst.12the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;
And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: they were inclosed in ouches of gold in their inclosings.13and the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. They were surrounded with gold filigree in their settings.
And the stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, every one with his name, according to the twelve tribes.14The 12 stones corresponded to the names of Israel's sons. Each stone was engraved like a seal with one of the names of the 12 tribes.
And they made upon the breastplate chains at the ends, of wreathen work of pure gold.15They made braided chains of pure gold cord for the breastpiece.
And they made two ouches of gold, and two gold rings; and put the two rings in the two ends of the breastplate.16They also fashioned two gold filigree settings and two gold rings and attached the two rings to its two corners.
And they put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings on the ends of the breastplate.17Then they attached the two gold cords to the two gold rings on the corners of the breastpiece.
And the two ends of the two wreathen chains they fastened in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod, before it.18They attached the other ends of the two cords to the two filigree settings and, in this way, attached them to the ephod's shoulder pieces in front.
And they made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, upon the border of it, which was on the side of the ephod inward.19They made two other gold rings and put them at the two other corners of the breastpiece on the edge that is next to the inner border of the ephod.
And they made two other golden rings, and put them on the two sides of the ephod underneath, toward the forepart of it, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.20They made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the ephod's two shoulder pieces on its front, close to its seam, above the ephod's woven waistband.
And they did bind the breastplate by his rings unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not be loosed from the ephod; as the LORD commanded Moses.21Then they tied the breastpiece from its rings to the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue yarn, so that the breastpiece was above the ephod's waistband and did not come loose from the ephod. They did just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue.22They made the woven robe of the ephod entirely of blue yarn.
And there was an hole in the midst of the robe, as the hole of an habergeon, with a band round about the hole, that it should not rend.23There was an opening in the center of the robe like that of body armor with a collar around the opening so that it would not tear.
And they made upon the hems of the robe pomegranates of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and twined linen.24They made pomegranates of finely spun blue, purple, and scarlet yarn on the lower hem of the robe.
And they made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates upon the hem of the robe, round about between the pomegranates;25They made bells of pure gold and attached the bells between the pomegranates, all around the hem of the robe between the pomegranates,
A bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, round about the hem of the robe to minister in; as the LORD commanded Moses.26a bell and a pomegranate alternating all around the lower hem of the robe to be worn for ministry. They made it just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And they made coats of fine linen of woven work for Aaron, and for his sons,27They made the tunics of fine woven linen for Aaron and his sons.
And a mitre of fine linen, and goodly bonnets of fine linen, and linen breeches of fine twined linen,28They also made the turban and the ornate headbands of fine linen, the undergarments,
And a girdle of fine twined linen, and blue, and purple, and scarlet, of needlework; as the LORD commanded Moses.29and the sash of finely spun linen of embroidered blue, purple, and scarlet yarn. They did just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And they made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD.30They also made a medallion, the holy diadem, out of pure gold and wrote on it an inscription like the engraving on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD.
And they tied unto it a lace of blue, to fasten it on high upon the mitre; as the LORD commanded Moses.31Then they attached a cord of blue yarn to it in order to mount it on the turban, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.32So all the work for the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, was finished. The Israelites did everything just as the LORD had commanded Moses.
And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets,33Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses: the tent with all its furnishings, its clasps, its planks, its crossbars, and its posts and bases;
And the covering of rams' skins dyed red, and the covering of badgers' skins, and the vail of the covering,34the covering of ram skins dyed red and the covering of manatee skins; the veil for the screen;
The ark of the testimony, and the staves thereof, and the mercy seat,35the ark of the testimony with its poles and the mercy seat;
The table, and all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread,36the table, all its utensils, and the bread of the Presence;
The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light,37the pure gold lampstand, with its lamps arranged and all its utensils, as well as the oil for the light;
And the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door,38the gold altar; the anointing oil; the fragrant incense; the screen for the entrance to the tent;
The brasen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot,39the bronze altar with its bronze grate, its poles, and all its utensils; the basin with its stand;
The hangings of the court, his pillars, and his sockets, and the hanging for the court gate, his cords, and his pins, and all the vessels of the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the congregation,40the hangings of the courtyard, its posts and bases, the screen for the gate of the courtyard, its ropes and tent pegs, and all the equipment for the service of the tabernacle, the tent of meeting;
The cloths of service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments, to minister in the priest's office.41and the specially woven garments for ministering in the sanctuary, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons to serve as priests.
According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work.42The Israelites had done all the work according to everything the LORD had commanded Moses.
And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.43Moses inspected all the work they had accomplished. They had done just as the LORD commanded. Then Moses blessed them.
