1 Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart, And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.
2 saying, “In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought.
3 Now there was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, ‘Give me justice from my opponent.’ And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’
4 And for a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Even though I do not fear God nor respect man, For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think,
5 yet because this widow is bothering me, I will give her justice, lest by continually coming she wears me out.’” yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’” yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’”
6 And the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says.
7 Now, will God not bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them? And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?
8 I tell you that He will bring about justice for them quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find that faith on the earth?” I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
9 And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable:

11 The Pharisee stood and was praying these things to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector.
12 I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’ I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’
13 But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other, for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.” I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
15 And they were bringing even their babies to Him so that He would touch them, but when the disciples saw it, they were rebuking them. Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them.
16 But Jesus called for them, saying, “Permit the children to come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
17 Truly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
18 And a ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And a ruler asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” A certain ruler asked him, “Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
19 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone. “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.
20 You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.’” You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother.’” You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.’”
21 And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.” And he said, “All these I have kept from my youth.” “All these I have kept since I was a boy,” he said.
22 And when Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack: sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven. And come, follow Me.” When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “One thing you still lack. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
23 But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich. When he heard this, he became very sad, because he was very wealthy.
24 And Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God! Jesus, seeing that he had become sad, said, “How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God! 26 And those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?” Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?” Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?”
27 But He said, “The things that are impossible with people are possible with God.” But he said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
28 And Peter said, “Behold, we have left all that is our own and followed You.” And Peter said, “See, we have left our homes and followed you.” Peter said to him, “We have left all we had to follow you!”
29 And He said to them, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, And he said to them, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, “Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to them, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God

34 But the disciples understood none of these things, and this statement was hidden from them, and they did not comprehend the things that were said. But they understood none of these things. This saying was hidden from them, and they did not grasp what was said. The disciples did not understand any of this. Its meaning was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.
35 Now it happened that as Jesus was approaching Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging. As he drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.

39 And those who went ahead were rebuking him so that he would be quiet, but he kept crying out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
40 And Jesus stopped and commanded that he be brought to Him, and when he came near, He questioned him, And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him, Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him,
41 “What do you want Me to do for you?” And he said, “Lord, I want to regain my sight!” “What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, let me recover my sight.” “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see,” he replied.
42 And Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has saved you.” And Jesus said to him, “Recover your sight; your faith has made you well.” Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.”
43 Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him, glorifying God. And when all the people saw it, they gave praise to God. And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God. Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.
