3	Then He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones come to life?” “O Lord GOD,” I replied, “only You know.”	And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord GOD, you know.”	And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.	Then He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “Lord GOD, You Yourself know.”	He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign LORD, you alone know.”
4	And He said to me, “Prophesy concerning these bones and tell them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!	Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.	Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.	Again He said to me, “Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘You dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.’	Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!
5	This is what the Lord GOD says to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you will come to life.	Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.	Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:	This is what the Lord GOD says to these bones: ‘Behold, I am going to make breath enter you so that you may come to life.	This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.
6	I will attach tendons to you and make flesh grow upon you and cover you with skin. I will put breath within you so that you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’ ”	And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the LORD.”	And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I <i>am</i> the LORD.	And I will attach tendons to you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin, and put breath in you so that you may come to life; and you will know that I am the LORD.’”	I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. 7	So I prophesied as I had been commanded. And as I prophesied, there was suddenly a noise, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to bone.	So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone.	So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. 8	As I looked on, tendons appeared on them, flesh grew, and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them.	And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them.	And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but <i>there was</i> no breath in them.	And I looked, and behold, tendons were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them.	I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
9	Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and tell the breath that this is what the Lord GOD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, so that they may live!”	Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord GOD: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”	Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.	Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘The Lord GOD says this: “Come from the four winds, breath, and breathe on these slain, so that they come to life.”’”	Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’”
10	So I prophesied as He had commanded me, and the breath entered them, and they came to life and stood on their feet— a vast army.	So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.	So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. 11	Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Look, they are saying, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope has perished; we are cut off.’	Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’	Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.	Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the entire house of Israel; behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope has perished. We are completely cut off.’	Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’
12	Therefore prophesy and tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘O My people, I will open your graves and bring you up from them, and I will bring you back to the land of Israel.	Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel.	Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.	Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: “Behold, I am going to open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel.	Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel.
13	Then you, My people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.	And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people.	And ye shall know that I <i>am</i> the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,	Then you will know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, My people.	Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.
14	I will put My Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD.’ ”	And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the LORD; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the LORD.”	And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken <i>it</i>, and performed <i>it</i>, saith the LORD.	And I will put My Spirit within you and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have spoken and done it,” declares the LORD.’”	I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.’”
15	Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,	The word of the LORD came to me:	The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,	The word of the LORD came again to me, saying,	The word of the LORD came to me:
16	“And you, son of man, take a single stick and write on it: ‘Belonging to Judah and to the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another stick and write on it: ‘Belonging to Joseph— the stick of Ephraim— and to all the house of Israel associated with him.’	“Son of man, take a stick and write on it, ‘For Judah, and the people of Israel associated with him’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph (the stick of Ephraim) and all the house of Israel associated with him.’	Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and <i>for</i> all the house of Israel his companions:	“Now you, son of man, take for yourself one stick and write on it, ‘For Judah and for the sons of Israel, his companions’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions.’	“Son of man, take a stick of wood and write on it, ‘Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another stick of wood, and write on it, ‘Belonging to Joseph (that is, to Ephraim) and all the Israelites associated with him.’
17	Then join them together into one stick, so that they become one in your hand.	And join them one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand.	And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.	Then put them together for yourself one to another into one stick, so that they may become one in your hand.	Join them together into one stick so that they will become one in your hand.
18	When your people ask you, ‘Won’t you explain to us what you mean by these?’	And when your people say to you, ‘Will you not tell us what you mean by these?’	And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou <i>meanest</i> by these?	And when the sons of your people speak to you, saying, ‘Will you not declare to us what you mean by these?’	“When your people ask you, ‘Won’t you tell us what you mean by this?’
19	you are to tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel associated with him, and I will put them together with the stick of Judah. I will make them into a single stick, and they will become one in My hand.’	say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am about to take the stick of Joseph (that is in the hand of Ephraim) and the tribes of Israel associated with him. And I will join with it the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, that they may be one in my hand.	Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which <i>is</i> in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, <i>even</i> with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.	say to them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: “Behold, I am going to take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will put them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.”’	say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am going to take the stick of Joseph—which is in Ephraim’s hand—and of the Israelite tribes associated with him, and join it to Judah’s stick. I will make them into a single stick of wood, and they will become one in my hand.’
20	When the sticks on which you write are in your hand and in full view of the people,	When the sticks on which you write are in your hand before their eyes,	And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.	The sticks on which you write will be in your hand before their eyes.	Hold before their eyes the sticks you have written on
21	you are to tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will take the Israelites out of the nations to which they have gone, and I will gather them from all around and bring them into their own land.	then say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I will take the people of Israel from the nations among which they have gone, and will gather them from all around, and bring them to their own land.	And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:	And say to them, ‘This is what the Lord GOD says: “Behold, I am going to take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land;	and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.
22	I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will rule over all of them. Then they will no longer be two nations and will never again be divided into two kingdoms.	And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. And one king shall be king over them all, and they shall be no longer two nations, and no longer divided into two kingdoms.	And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:	and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king will be king for all of them; and they will no longer be two nations, and no longer be divided into two kingdoms.	I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms.
23	They will no longer defile themselves with their idols or detestable images, or with any of their transgressions. I will save them from all their apostasies by which they sinned, and I will cleanse them. Then they will be My people, and I will be their God.	They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. But I will save them from all the backslidings in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.	Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.	They will no longer defile themselves with their idols, or with their detestable things, or with any of their offenses; but I will rescue them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. And they will be My people, and I will be their God.	They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.
24	My servant David will be king over them, and there will be one shepherd for all of them. They will follow My ordinances and keep and observe My statutes.	“My servant David shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd. They shall walk in my rules and be careful to obey my statutes.	And David my servant <i>shall be</i> king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.	“And My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances, and keep My statutes and follow them.	“’My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees.
25	They will live in the land that I gave to My servant Jacob, where your fathers lived. They will live there forever with their children and grandchildren, and My servant David will be their prince forever.	They shall dwell in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, where your fathers lived. They and their children and their children’s children shall dwell there forever, and David my servant shall be their prince forever.	And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, <i>even</i> they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David <i>shall be</i> their prince for ever.	And they will live on the land that I gave to My servant Jacob, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and My servant David will be their leader forever.	They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their children’s children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever.
26	And I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set My sanctuary among them forever.	I will make a covenant of peace with them. It shall be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will set them in their land and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in their midst forevermore. 28	Then the nations will know that I the LORD sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is among them forever.’ ”	Then the nations will know that I am the LORD who sanctifies Israel, when my sanctuary is in their midst forevermore.”	And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.	And the nations will know that I am the LORD who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever.”’”	Then the nations will know that I the LORD make Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever.’”
