32They performed music before the sanctuary of the meeting tent until Solomon built the LORD's temple in Jerusalem. They carried out their tasks according to regulations.

32וַיִּהְי֨וּ מְשָׁרְתִ֜ים לִפְנֵ֨י מִשְׁכַּ֤ן אֹֽהֶל־ מוֹעֵד֙ בַּשִּׁ֔יר עַד־ בְּנ֧וֹת שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה אֶת־ בֵּ֥ית יְהוָ֖ה בִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וַיַּעַמְד֥וּ כְמִשְׁפָּטָ֖ם עַל־ עֲבוֹדָתָֽם׃

33These are the ones who served along with their sons: From the Kohathites: Heman the musician, son of Joel, son of Samuel,

33וְאֵ֥לֶּה הָעֹמְדִ֖ים וּבְנֵיהֶ֑ם מִבְּנֵי֙ הַקְּהָתִ֔י הֵימָן֙ הַמְשׁוֹרֵ֔ר בֶּן־ יוֹאֵ֖ל בֶּן־ שְׁמוּאֵֽל׃

34son of Elkanah, son of Jeroham, son of Eliel, son of Toah,

34בֶּן־ אֶלְקָנָה֙ בֶּן־ יְרֹחָ֔ם בֶּן־ אֱלִיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־ תּֽוֹחַ׃

35son of Zuph, son of Elkanah, son of Mahath, son of Amasai,

35בֶּן־ [ציף] (צוּף֙) בֶּן־ אֶלְקָנָ֔ה בֶּן־ מַ֖חַת בֶּן־ עֲמָשָֽׂי׃

36son of Elkanah, son of Joel, son of Azariah, son of Zephaniah,

36בֶּן־ אֶלְקָנָה֙ בֶּן־ יוֹאֵ֔ל בֶּן־ עֲזַרְיָ֖ה בֶּן־ צְפַנְיָֽה׃

37son of Tahath, son of Assir, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah,

37בֶּן־ תַּ֙חַת֙ בֶּן־ אַסִּ֔יר בֶּן־ אֶבְיָסָ֖ף בֶּן־ קֹֽרַח׃

38son of Izhar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, son of Israel.

38בֶּן־ יִצְהָ֣ר בֶּן־ קְהָ֔ת בֶּן־ לֵוִ֖י בֶּן־ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

39Serving beside him was his fellow Levite Asaph, son of Berechiah, son of Shimea,

39וְאָחִ֣יו אָסָ֔ף הָעֹמֵ֖ד עַל־ יְמִינ֑וֹ אָסָ֥ף בֶּן־ בֶּרֶכְיָ֖הוּ בֶּן־ שִׁמְעָֽא׃

40son of Michael, son of Baaseiah, son of Malkijah,

40בֶּן־ מִיכָאֵ֥ל בֶּן־ בַּעֲשֵׂיָ֖ה בֶּן־ מַלְכִּיָּֽה׃

41son of Ethni, son of Zerah, son of Adaiah,

41בֶּן־ אֶתְנִ֥י בֶן־ זֶ֖רַח בֶּן־ עֲדָיָֽה׃

42son of Ethan, son of Zimmah, son of Shimei,

42בֶּן־ אֵיתָ֥ן בֶּן־ זִמָּ֖ה בֶּן־ שִׁמְעִֽי׃

43son of Jahath, son of Gershom, son of Levi.

43בֶּן־ יַ֥חַת בֶּן־ גֵּרְשֹׁ֖ם בֶּן־ לֵוִֽי׃ ס

44Serving beside them were their fellow Levites, the descendants of Merari, led by Ethan, son of Kishi, son of Abdi, son of Malluch,

44וּבְנֵ֧י מְרָרִ֛י אֲחֵיהֶ֖ם עַֽל־ הַשְּׂמֹ֑אול אֵיתָן֙ בֶּן־ קִישִׁ֔י בֶּן־ עַבְדִּ֖י בֶּן־ מַלּֽוּךְ׃

45son of Hashabiah, son of Amaziah, son of Hilkiah,

45בֶּן־ חֲשַׁבְיָ֥ה בֶן־ אֲמַצְיָ֖ה בֶּן־ חִלְקִיָּֽה׃

46son of Amzi, son of Bani, son of Shemer,

46בֶּן־ אַמְצִ֥י בֶן־ בָּנִ֖י בֶּן־ שָֽׁמֶר׃

47son of Mahli, son of Mushi, son of Merari, son of Levi.

47בֶּן־ מַחְלִי֙ בֶּן־ מוּשִׁ֔י בֶּן־ מְרָרִ֖י בֶּן־ לֵוִֽי׃ ס

48The rest of their fellow Levites were assigned to perform the remaining tasks at God's sanctuary.

48וַאֲחֵיהֶ֖ם הַלְוִיִּ֑ם נְתוּנִ֕ים לְכָ֨ל־ עֲבוֹדַ֔ת מִשְׁכַּ֖ן בֵּ֥ית הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃

49But Aaron and his descendants offered sacrifices on the altar for burnt offerings and on the altar for incense as they had been assigned to do in the most holy sanctuary. They made atonement for Israel, just as God's servant Moses had ordered.

49וְֽאַהֲרֹ֨ן וּבָנָ֜יו מַקְטִירִ֨ים עַל־ מִזְבַּ֤ח הָֽעוֹלָה֙ וְעַל־ מִזְבַּ֣ח הַקְּטֹ֔רֶת לְכֹ֕ל מְלֶ֖אכֶת קֹ֣דֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁ֑ים וּלְכַפֵּר֙ עַל־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כְּכֹל֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר צִוָּ֔ה מֹשֶׁ֖ה עֶ֥בֶד הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ פ

50These were the descendants of Aaron: His son Eleazar, his son Phinehas, his son Abishua,

50וְאֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֣י אַהֲרֹ֑ן אֶלְעָזָ֥ר בְּנ֛וֹ פִּֽינְחָ֥ס בְּנ֖וֹ אֲבִישׁ֥וּעַ בְּנֽוֹ׃

51his son Bukki, his son Uzzi, his son Zerahiah,

51בֻּקִּ֥י בְנ֛וֹ עֻזִּ֥י בְנ֖וֹ זְרַֽחְיָ֥ה בְנֽוֹ׃

52his son Meraioth, his son Amariah, his son Ahitub,

52מְרָי֥וֹת בְּנ֛וֹ אֲמַרְיָ֥ה בְנ֖וֹ אֲחִיט֥וּב בְּנֽוֹ׃

53his son Zadok, and his son Ahimaaz.

53צָד֥וֹק בְּנ֖וֹ אֲחִימַ֥עַץ בְּנֽוֹ׃ ס

54These were the areas where Aaron's descendants lived: The following belonged to the Kohathite clan, for they received the first allotment:

54וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ מוֹשְׁבוֹתָ֔ם לְטִירוֹתָ֖ם בִּגְבוּלָ֑ם לִבְנֵ֤י אַהֲרֹן֙ לְמִשְׁפַּחַ֣ת הַקְּהָתִ֔י כִּ֥י לָהֶ֖ם הָיָ֥ה הַגּוֹרָֽל׃

55They were allotted Hebron in the territory of Judah, as well as its surrounding pasturelands.

55וַֽיִּתְּנ֥וּ לָהֶ֛ם אֶת־ חֶבְר֖וֹן בְּאֶ֣רֶץ יְהוּדָ֑ה וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֖יהָ סְבִיבֹתֶֽיהָ׃

56(But the city's land and nearby towns were allotted to Caleb son of Jephunneh.)

56וְאֶת־ שְׂדֵ֥ה הָעִ֖יר וְאֶת־ חֲצֵרֶ֑יהָ נָתְנ֖וּ לְכָלֵ֥ב בֶּן־ יְפֻנֶּֽה׃ ס

57The descendants of Aaron were also allotted as cities of refuge Hebron, Libnah and its pasturelands, Jattir, Eshtemoa and its pasturelands,

57וְלִבְנֵ֣י אַהֲרֹ֗ן נָתְנוּ֙ אֶת־ עָרֵ֣י הַמִּקְלָ֔ט אֶת־ חֶבְר֥וֹן וְאֶת־ לִבְנָ֖ה וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֑יהָ וְאֶת־ יַתִּ֥ר וְאֶֽת־ אֶשְׁתְּמֹ֖עַ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃

58Hilez and its pasturelands, Debir and its pasturelands,

58וְאֶת־ חִילֵז֙ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֔יהָ אֶת־ דְּבִ֖יר וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃

59Ashan and its pasturelands, and Beth Shemesh and its pasturelands.

59וְאֶת־ עָשָׁן֙ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֔יהָ וְאֶת־ בֵּ֥ית שֶׁ֖מֶשׁ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃ ס

60Within the territory of the tribe of Benjamin they were allotted Geba and its pasturelands, Alemeth and its pasturelands, and Anathoth and its pasturelands. Their clans were allotted thirteen cities in all.

60וּמִמַּטֵּ֣ה בִנְיָמִ֗ן אֶת־ גֶּ֤בַע וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֙יהָ֙ וְאֶת־ עָלֶ֣מֶת וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֔יהָ וְאֶת־ עֲנָת֖וֹת וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֑יהָ כָּל־ עָרֵיהֶ֛ם שְׁלֹשׁ־ עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה עִ֖יר בְּמִשְׁפְּחוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃ ס

61The rest of Kohath's descendants were allotted ten cities in the territory of the half-tribe of Manasseh.

61וְלִבְנֵ֨י קְהָ֜ת הַנּוֹתָרִ֗ים מִמִּשְׁפַּ֣חַת הַמַּטֶּ֡ה מִֽ֠מַּחֲצִית מַטֵּ֨ה חֲצִ֧י מְנַשֶּׁ֛ה בַּגּוֹרָ֖ל עָרִ֥ים עָֽשֶׂר׃ ס

62The clans of Gershom's descendants received thirteen cities within the territory of the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and Manasseh (in Bashan).

62וְלִבְנֵ֨י גֵרְשׁ֜וֹם לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָ֗ם מִמַּטֵּ֣ה יִ֠שָׂשכָר וּמִמַּטֵּ֨ה אָשֵׁ֜ר וּמִמַּטֵּ֣ה נַפְתָּלִ֗י וּמִמַּטֵּ֤ה מְנַשֶּׁה֙ בַּבָּשָׁ֔ן עָרִ֖ים שְׁלֹ֥שׁ עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃ ס

63The clans of Merari's descendants were allotted twelve cities within the territory of the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Zebulun.

63לִבְנֵ֨י מְרָרִ֜י לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָ֗ם מִמַּטֵּ֣ה רְ֠אוּבֵן וּֽמִמַּטֵּה־ גָ֞ד וּמִמַּטֵּ֤ה זְבוּלֻן֙ בַּגּוֹרָ֔ל עָרִ֖ים שְׁתֵּ֥ים עֶשְׂרֵֽה׃

64So the Israelites gave to the Levites these cities and their pasturelands.

64וַיִּתְּנ֥וּ בְנֵי־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לַלְוִיִּ֑ם אֶת־ הֶעָרִ֖ים וְאֶת־ מִגְרְשֵׁיהֶֽם׃

65They allotted these previously named cities from the territory of the tribes of Judah, Simeon, and Benjamin.

65וַיִּתְּנ֣וּ בַגּוֹרָ֗ל מִמַּטֵּ֤ה בְנֵי־ יְהוּדָה֙ וּמִמַּטֵּ֣ה בְנֵי־ שִׁמְע֔וֹן וּמִמַּטֵּ֖ה בְּנֵ֣י בִנְיָמִ֑ן אֵ֚ת הֶעָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה אֲשֶׁר־ יִקְרְא֥וּ אֶתְהֶ֖ם בְּשֵׁמֽוֹת׃ ס

66The clans of Kohath's descendants also received territory within the tribe of Ephraim.

66וּמִֽמִּשְׁפְּח֖וֹת בְּנֵ֣י קְהָ֑ת וַיְהִי֙ עָרֵ֣י גְבוּלָ֔ם מִמַּטֵּ֖ה אֶפְרָֽיִם׃

67They were allotted as cities of refuge Shechem and its pasturelands (in the hill country of Ephraim), Gezer and its pasturelands,

67וַיִּתְּנ֨וּ לָהֶ֜ם אֶת־ עָרֵ֧י הַמִּקְלָ֛ט אֶת־ שְׁכֶ֥ם וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֖יהָ בְּהַ֣ר אֶפְרָ֑יִם וְאֶת־ גֶּ֖זֶר וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃

68Jokmeam and its pasturelands, Beth Horon and its pasturelands,

68וְאֶֽת־ יָקְמְעָם֙ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֔יהָ וְאֶת־ בֵּ֥ית חוֹר֖וֹן וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃

69Aijalon and its pasturelands, and Gath Rimmon and its pasturelands.

69וְאֶת־ אַיָּלוֹן֙ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֔יהָ וְאֶת־ גַּת־ רִמּ֖וֹן וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃ פ

70Within the territory of the half-tribe of Manasseh, the rest of Kohath's descendants received Aner and its pasturelands and Bileam and its pasturelands.

70וּמִֽמַּחֲצִית֙ מַטֵּ֣ה מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה אֶת־ עָנֵר֙ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֔יהָ וְאֶת־ בִּלְעָ֖ם וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֑יהָ לְמִשְׁפַּ֥חַת לִבְנֵי־ קְהָ֖ת הַנּוֹתָרִֽים׃ פ

71The following belonged to Gershom's descendants: Within the territory of the half-tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan and its pasturelands and Ashtaroth and its pasturelands.

71לִבְנֵי֮ גֵּרְשׁוֹם֒ מִמִּשְׁפַּ֗חַת חֲצִי֙ מַטֵּ֣ה מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה אֶת־ גּוֹלָ֥ן בַּבָּשָׁ֖ן וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֑יהָ וְאֶת־ עַשְׁתָּר֖וֹת וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃ ס

72Within the territory of the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh and its pasturelands, Daberath and its pasturelands,

72וּמִמַּטֵּ֣ה יִשָׂשכָ֔ר אֶת־ קֶ֖דֶשׁ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֑יהָ אֶת־ דָּבְרַ֖ת וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃

73Ramoth and its pasturelands, and Anem and its pasturelands.

73וְאֶת־ רָאמוֹת֙ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֔יהָ וְאֶת־ עָנֵ֖ם וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃ ס

74Within the territory of the tribe of Asher: Mashal and its pasturelands, Abdon and its pasturelands,

74וּמִמַּטֵּ֣ה אָשֵׁ֔ר אֶת־ מָשָׁ֖ל וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֑יהָ וְאֶת־ עַבְדּ֖וֹן וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃

75Hukok and its pasturelands, and Rehob and its pasturelands.

75וְאֶת־ חוּקֹק֙ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֔יהָ וְאֶת־ רְחֹ֖ב וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃

76Within the territory of the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee and its pasturelands, Hammon and its pasturelands, and Kiriathaim and its pasturelands.

76וּמִמַּטֵּ֣ה נַפְתָּלִ֗י אֶת־ קֶ֤דֶשׁ בַּגָּלִיל֙ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֔יהָ וְאֶת־ חַמּ֖וֹן וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֑יהָ וְאֶת־ קִרְיָתַ֖יִם וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃ ס

77The following belonged to the rest of Merari's descendants: Within the territory of the tribe of Zebulun: Rimmono and its pasturelands, and Tabor and its pasturelands.

77לִבְנֵ֣י מְרָרִי֮ הַנּוֹתָרִים֒ מִמַּטֵּ֣ה זְבוּלֻ֔ן אֶת־ רִמּוֹנ֖וֹ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֑יהָ אֶת־ תָּב֖וֹר וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃

78Within the territory of the tribe of Reuben across the Jordan River east of Jericho: Bezer in the desert and its pasturelands, Jahzah and its pasturelands,

78וּמֵעֵ֜בֶר לְיַרְדֵּ֣ן יְרֵחוֹ֮ לְמִזְרַ֣ח הַיַּרְדֵּן֒ מִמַּטֵּ֣ה רְאוּבֵ֔ן אֶת־ בֶּ֥צֶר בַּמִּדְבָּ֖ר וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֑יהָ וְאֶת־ יַ֖הְצָה וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃

79Kedemoth and its pasturelands, and Mephaath and its pasturelands.

79וְאֶת־ קְדֵמוֹת֙ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֔יהָ וְאֶת־ מֵיפַ֖עַת וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃

80Within the territory of the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead and its pasturelands, Mahanaim and its pasturelands,

80וּמִ֨מַּטֵּה־ גָ֔ד אֶת־ רָאמ֥וֹת בַּגִּלְעָ֖ד וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֑יהָ וְאֶֽת־ מַחֲנַ֖יִם וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃

81Heshbon and its pasturelands, and Jazer and its pasturelands.

81וְאֶת־ חֶשְׁבּוֹן֙ וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶׁ֔יהָ וְאֶת־ יַעְזֵ֖יר וְאֶת־ מִגְרָשֶֽׁיהָ׃ ס
