1The LORD spoke to Moses: "

1וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־ מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃

2You are to set up the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, on the first day of the first month.

2בְּיוֹם־ הַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הָרִאשׁ֖וֹן בְּאֶחָ֣ד לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ תָּקִ֕ים אֶת־ מִשְׁכַּ֖ן אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד׃

3Put the ark of the testimony there and screen off the ark with the veil.

3וְשַׂמְתָּ֣ שָׁ֔ם אֵ֖ת אֲר֣וֹן הָעֵד֑וּת וְסַכֹּתָ֥ עַל־ הָאָרֹ֖ן אֶת־ הַפָּרֹֽכֶת׃

4Then bring in the table and lay out its arrangement; also bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps.

4וְהֵבֵאתָ֙ אֶת־ הַשֻּׁלְחָ֔ן וְעָרַכְתָּ֖ אֶת־ עֶרְכּ֑וֹ וְהֵבֵאתָ֙ אֶת־ הַמְּנֹרָ֔ה וְהַעֲלֵיתָ֖ אֶת־ נֵרֹתֶֽיהָ׃

5Place the gold altar for incense in front of the ark of the testimony. Put up the screen for the entrance to the tabernacle.

5וְנָתַתָּ֞ה אֶת־ מִזְבַּ֤ח הַזָּהָב֙ לִקְטֹ֔רֶת לִפְנֵ֖י אֲר֣וֹן הָעֵדֻ֑ת וְשַׂמְתָּ֛ אֶת־ מָסַ֥ךְ הַפֶּ֖תַח לַמִּשְׁכָּֽן׃

6Position the altar of burnt offering in front of the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting.

6וְנָ֣תַתָּ֔ה אֵ֖ת מִזְבַּ֣ח הָעֹלָ֑ה לִפְנֵ֕י פֶּ֖תַח מִשְׁכַּ֥ן אֹֽהֶל־ מוֹעֵֽד׃

7Place the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it.

7וְנָֽתַתָּ֙ אֶת־ הַכִּיֹּ֔ר בֵּֽין־ אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵ֖ד וּבֵ֣ין הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ וְנָתַתָּ֥ שָׁ֖ם מָֽיִם׃

8Assemble the surrounding courtyard and hang the screen for the gate of the courtyard."

8וְשַׂמְתָּ֥ אֶת־ הֶחָצֵ֖ר סָבִ֑יב וְנָ֣תַתָּ֔ אֶת־ מָסַ֖ךְ שַׁ֥עַר הֶחָצֵֽר׃

9Take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it along with all its furnishings so that it will be holy.

9וְלָקַחְתָּ֙ אֶת־ שֶׁ֣מֶן הַמִּשְׁחָ֔ה וּמָשַׁחְתָּ֥ אֶת־ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן וְאֶת־ כָּל־ אֲשֶׁר־ בּ֑וֹ וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֥ אֹת֛וֹ וְאֶת־ כָּל־ כֵּלָ֖יו וְהָ֥יָה קֹֽדֶשׁ׃

10Anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils; consecrate the altar so that it will be especially holy.

10וּמָשַׁחְתָּ֛ אֶת־ מִזְבַּ֥ח הָעֹלָ֖ה וְאֶת־ כָּל־ כֵּלָ֑יו וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֙ אֶת־ הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ וְהָיָ֥ה הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ קֹ֥דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִֽׁים׃

11Anoint the basin and its stand and consecrate it."

11וּמָשַׁחְתָּ֥ אֶת־ הַכִּיֹּ֖ר וְאֶת־ כַּנּ֑וֹ וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֖ אֹתֽוֹ׃

12Then bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the tent of meeting and wash them with water.

12וְהִקְרַבְתָּ֤ אֶֽת־ אַהֲרֹן֙ וְאֶת־ בָּנָ֔יו אֶל־ פֶּ֖תַח אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וְרָחַצְתָּ֥ אֹתָ֖ם בַּמָּֽיִם׃

13Clothe Aaron with the holy garments, anoint him, and consecrate him, so that he can serve Me as a priest.

13וְהִלְבַּשְׁתָּ֙ אֶֽת־ אַהֲרֹ֔ן אֵ֖ת בִּגְדֵ֣י הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ וּמָשַׁחְתָּ֥ אֹת֛וֹ וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֥ אֹת֖וֹ וְכִהֵ֥ן לִֽי׃

14Have his sons come forward and clothe them in tunics.

14וְאֶת־ בָּנָ֖יו תַּקְרִ֑יב וְהִלְבַּשְׁתָּ֥ אֹתָ֖ם כֻּתֳּנֹֽת׃

15Anoint them just as you anointed their father, so that they may also serve Me as priests. Their anointing will serve to inaugurate a permanent priesthood for them throughout their generations."

15וּמָשַׁחְתָּ֣ אֹתָ֗ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר מָשַׁ֙חְתָּ֙ אֶת־ אֲבִיהֶ֔ם וְכִהֲנ֖וּ לִ֑י וְ֠הָיְתָה לִהְיֹ֨ת לָהֶ֧ם מָשְׁחָתָ֛ם לִכְהֻנַּ֥ת עוֹלָ֖ם לְדֹרֹתָֽם׃

16Moses did everything just as the LORD had commanded him.

16וַיַּ֖עַשׂ מֹשֶׁ֑ה כְּ֠כֹל אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֧ה יְהוָ֛ה אֹת֖וֹ כֵּ֥ן עָשָֽׂה׃ ס

17The tabernacle was set up in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month.

17וַיְהִ֞י בַּחֹ֧דֶשׁ הָרִאשׁ֛וֹן בַּשָּׁנָ֥ה הַשֵּׁנִ֖ית בְּאֶחָ֣ד לַחֹ֑דֶשׁ הוּקַ֖ם הַמִּשְׁכָּֽן׃

18Moses set up the tabernacle: he laid its bases, positioned its planks, inserted its crossbars, and set up its posts.

18וַיָּ֨קֶם מֹשֶׁ֜ה אֶת־ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֗ן וַיִּתֵּן֙ אֶת־ אֲדָנָ֔יו וַיָּ֙שֶׂם֙ אֶת־ קְרָשָׁ֔יו וַיִּתֵּ֖ן אֶת־ בְּרִיחָ֑יו וַיָּ֖קֶם אֶת־ עַמּוּדָֽיו׃

19Then he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent on top of it, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

19וַיִּפְרֹ֤שׂ אֶת־ הָאֹ֙הֶל֙ עַל־ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֔ן וַיָּ֜שֶׂם אֶת־ מִכְסֵ֥ה הָאֹ֛הֶל עָלָ֖יו מִלְמָ֑עְלָה כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃ ס

20Moses took the testimony and placed it in the ark, and attached the poles to the ark. He set the mercy seat on top of the ark.

20וַיִּקַּ֞ח וַיִּתֵּ֤ן אֶת־ הָעֵדֻת֙ אֶל־ הָ֣אָרֹ֔ן וַיָּ֥שֶׂם אֶת־ הַבַּדִּ֖ים עַל־ הָאָרֹ֑ן וַיִּתֵּ֧ן אֶת־ הַכַּפֹּ֛רֶת עַל־ הָאָרֹ֖ן מִלְמָֽעְלָה׃

21He brought the ark into the tabernacle, put up the veil for the screen, and screened off the ark of the testimony, just as the LORD had commanded him.

21וַיָּבֵ֣א אֶת־ הָאָרֹן֮ אֶל־ הַמִּשְׁכָּן֒ וַיָּ֗שֶׂם אֵ֚ת פָּרֹ֣כֶת הַמָּסָ֔ךְ וַיָּ֕סֶךְ עַ֖ל אֲר֣וֹן הָעֵד֑וּת כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃ ס

22Moses placed the table in the tent of meeting on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil.

22וַיִּתֵּ֤ן אֶת־ הַשֻּׁלְחָן֙ בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד עַ֛ל יֶ֥רֶךְ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן צָפֹ֑נָה מִח֖וּץ לַפָּרֹֽכֶת׃

23He arranged the bread on it before the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded him.

23וַיַּעֲרֹ֥ךְ עָלָ֛יו עֵ֥רֶךְ לֶ֖חֶם לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃ ס

24He also put the lampstand in the tent of meeting opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle

24וַיָּ֤שֶׂם אֶת־ הַמְּנֹרָה֙ בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד נֹ֖כַח הַשֻּׁלְחָ֑ן עַ֛ל יֶ֥רֶךְ הַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן נֶֽגְבָּה׃

25and set up the lamps before the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded him.

25וַיַּ֥עַל הַנֵּרֹ֖ת לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃ ס

26Moses also installed the gold altar in the tent of meeting, in front of the veil,

26וַיָּ֛שֶׂם אֶת־ מִזְבַּ֥ח הַזָּהָ֖ב בְּאֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד לִפְנֵ֖י הַפָּרֹֽכֶת׃

27and burned fragrant incense on it, just as the LORD had commanded him.

27וַיַּקְטֵ֥ר עָלָ֖יו קְטֹ֣רֶת סַמִּ֑ים כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃ פ

28He put up the screen at the entrance to the tabernacle.

28וַיָּ֛שֶׂם אֶת־ מָסַ֥ךְ הַפֶּ֖תַח לַמִּשְׁכָּֽן׃

29Then he placed the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and offered the burnt offering and the grain offering on it, just as the LORD had commanded him.

29וְאֵת֙ מִזְבַּ֣ח הָעֹלָ֔ה שָׂ֕ם פֶּ֖תַח מִשְׁכַּ֣ן אֹֽהֶל־ מוֹעֵ֑ד וַיַּ֣עַל עָלָ֗יו אֶת־ הָעֹלָה֙ וְאֶת־ הַמִּנְחָ֔ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃ ס

30He set the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing.

30וַיָּ֙שֶׂם֙ אֶת־ הַכִּיֹּ֔ר בֵּֽין־ אֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵ֖ד וּבֵ֣ין הַמִּזְבֵּ֑חַ וַיִּתֵּ֥ן שָׁ֛מָּה מַ֖יִם לְרָחְצָֽה׃

31Moses, Aaron, and his sons washed their hands and feet from it.

31וְרָחֲצ֣וּ מִמֶּ֔נּוּ מֹשֶׁ֖ה וְאַהֲרֹ֣ן וּבָנָ֑יו אֶת־ יְדֵיהֶ֖ם וְאֶת־ רַגְלֵיהֶֽם׃

32They washed whenever they came to the tent of meeting and approached the altar, just as the LORD had commanded Moses.

32בְּבֹאָ֞ם אֶל־ אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֗ד וּבְקָרְבָתָ֛ם אֶל־ הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ יִרְחָ֑צוּ כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר צִוָּ֥ה יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־ מֹשֶֽׁה׃ ס

33Next Moses set up the surrounding courtyard for the tabernacle and the altar and hung a screen for the gate of the courtyard. So Moses finished the work.

33וַיָּ֣קֶם אֶת־ הֶחָצֵ֗ר סָבִיב֙ לַמִּשְׁכָּ֣ן וְלַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ וַיִּתֵּ֕ן אֶת־ מָסַ֖ךְ שַׁ֣עַר הֶחָצֵ֑ר וַיְכַ֥ל מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶת־ הַמְּלָאכָֽה׃ פ

34The cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

34וַיְכַ֥ס הֶעָנָ֖ן אֶת־ אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֑ד וּכְב֣וֹד יְהוָ֔ה מָלֵ֖א אֶת־ הַמִּשְׁכָּֽן׃

35Moses was unable to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud rested on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

35וְלֹא־ יָכֹ֣ל מֹשֶׁ֗ה לָבוֹא֙ אֶל־ אֹ֣הֶל מוֹעֵ֔ד כִּֽי־ שָׁכַ֥ן עָלָ֖יו הֶעָנָ֑ן וּכְב֣וֹד יְהוָ֔ה מָלֵ֖א אֶת־ הַמִּשְׁכָּֽן׃

36The Israelites set out whenever the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle throughout all the stages of their journey.

36וּבְהֵעָל֤וֹת הֶֽעָנָן֙ מֵעַ֣ל הַמִּשְׁכָּ֔ן יִסְע֖וּ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל בְּכֹ֖ל מַסְעֵיהֶֽם׃

37If the cloud was not taken up, they did not set out until the day it was taken up.

37וְאִם־ לֹ֥א יֵעָלֶ֖ה הֶעָנָ֑ן וְלֹ֣א יִסְע֔וּ עַד־ י֖וֹם הֵעָלֹתֽוֹ׃

38For the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and there was a fire inside the cloud by night, visible to the entire house of Israel throughout all the stages of their journey.

38כִּי֩ עֲנַ֨ן יְהוָ֤ה עַֽל־ הַמִּשְׁכָּן֙ יוֹמָ֔ם וְאֵ֕שׁ תִּהְיֶ֥ה לַ֖יְלָה בּ֑וֹ לְעֵינֵ֥י כָל־ בֵּֽית־ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּכָל־ מַסְעֵיהֶֽם׃
