Soon the people began to complain about their hardship in the hearing of the LORD, and when He heard them, His anger was kindled, and fire from the LORD blazed among them and consumed the outskirts of the camp.

All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, "If only we had died in the land of Egypt, or if only we had died in this wilderness!
not one of the men who have seen My glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness--yet have tested Me and disobeyed Me these ten times--
"How long will this wicked congregation grumble against Me? I have heard the complaints that the Israelites are making against Me.
So tell them: As surely as I live, declares the LORD, I will do to you exactly as I heard you say.
Therefore, it is you and all your followers who have conspired against the LORD! As for Aaron, who is he that you should grumble against him?"
And fire came forth from the LORD and consumed the 250 men who were offering the incense.
The staff belonging to the man I choose will sprout, and I will rid Myself of the constant grumbling of the Israelites against you."
While he was still speaking, another messenger came and reported: "The fire of God fell from heaven. It burned and consumed the sheep and the servants, and I alone have escaped to tell you!"
Therefore the LORD heard and was full of wrath; so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and His anger flared against Israel
Fire consumed His young men, and their maidens were left without wedding songs.
And the Light of Israel will become a fire, and its Holy One a flame. In a single day it will burn and devour Assyria's thorns and thistles.
Just as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you, declares of the Lord GOD.
Plague went before Him, and pestilence followed in His steps.
