Be My Rock of Refuge
בְּךָֽ־ (In You), יְהוָ֥ה (O YHWH), חָסִ֑יתִי (I take refuge);
אַל־ (do not) אֵב֥וֹשָׁה (let me be put to shame) לְעוֹלָֽם׃ (forever).
2 בְּצִדְקָתְךָ֗ (In Your righteousness) תַּצִּילֵ֥נִי (deliver me) וּֽתְפַלְּטֵ֑נִי (and cause me to escape);
הַטֵּֽה־ (incline) אֵלַ֥י (to me) אָ֝זְנְךָ֗ (Your ear), וְהוֹשִׁיעֵֽנִי׃ (and save me).
3 הֱיֵ֤ה (May You be) לִ֨י׀ (to me) לְצ֥וּר (as a rock) מָע֡וֹן (a habitation)
לָב֗וֹא (to go in) תָּמִ֗יד (continually);
צִוִּ֥יתָ (You have given a command) לְהוֹשִׁיעֵ֑נִי (to save me),
כִּֽי־ (for) סַלְעִ֖י (my rock) וּמְצוּדָתִ֣י (and my fortress) אָֽתָּה׃ (You are).
4 אֱֽלֹהַ֗י (O My God), פַּ֭לְּטֵנִי (rescue me) מִיַּ֣ד (from the hand) רָשָׁ֑ע (of a wicked one),
מִכַּ֖ף (from the palm) מְעַוֵּ֣ל (of the one acting unjustly) וְחוֹמֵץ׃ (and pressing).
5 כִּֽי־ (For) אַתָּ֥ה (You are) תִקְוָתִ֑י (my hope), אֲדֹנָ֥י (O Lord) יְ֝הוִ֗ה (YHWH)—
מִבְטַחִ֥י (my trust) מִנְּעוּרָֽי׃ (from my youth).
6 עָלֶ֤יךָ׀ (By You) נִסְמַ֬כְתִּי (I have been supported) מִבֶּ֗טֶן (from the womb);
מִמְּעֵ֣י (from the bowels) אִ֭מִּי (of my mother), אַתָּ֣ה (You) גוֹזִ֑י (cut me out).
בְּךָ֖ (For You) תְהִלָּתִ֣י (My praise is) תָמִֽיד׃ (continual).
7 כְּ֭מוֹפֵת (As a wonder) הָיִ֣יתִי (I have been) לְרַבִּ֑ים (to many),
וְ֝אַתָּ֗ה (and You are) מַֽחֲסִי־ (my refuge) עֹֽז׃ (strong).
8 יִמָּ֣לֵא (Is filled) פִ֭י (my mouth) תְּהִלָּתֶ֑ךָ (with Your praise),
כָּל־ (all) הַ֝יּ֗וֹם (the day) תִּפְאַרְתֶּֽךָ׃ (with Your splendor).
9 אַֽל־ (Do not) תַּ֭שְׁלִיכֵנִי (cast me off) לְעֵ֣ת (in the time) זִקְנָ֑ה (of old age);
כִּכְל֥וֹת (according to the consumption) כֹּ֝חִ֗י (of my power) אַֽל־ (do not) תַּעַזְבֵֽנִי׃ (forsake me).
10 כִּֽי־ (For) אָמְר֣וּ (speak) אוֹיְבַ֣י (my enemies) לִ֑י (against me),
וְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י (and those watching) נַ֝פְשִׁ֗י (my soul) נוֹעֲצ֥וּ (take counsel) יַחְדָּֽו׃ (together),
11 לֵ֭אמֹר (saying), אֱלֹהִ֣ים (God) עֲזָב֑וֹ (has forsaken him).
רִֽדְפ֥וּ (Pursue him) וְ֝תִפְשׂ֗וּהוּ (and seize him),
כִּי־ (for) אֵ֥ין (there is none) מַצִּֽיל׃ (to deliver him).
12 אֱ֭לֹהִים (O God), אַל־ (not) תִּרְחַ֣ק (should you be far) מִמֶּ֑נִּי (from me).
אֱ֝לֹהַ֗י (O my God), לְעֶזְרָ֥תִי (to be my help) חִישָׁה׃ (hurry).
13 יֵבֹ֣שׁוּ (Let them be put to shame) יִכְלוּ֮ (and consumed)
שֹׂטְנֵ֪י (those opposing) נַ֫פְשִׁ֥י (my soul);
יַֽעֲט֣וּ (let them be covered) חֶ֭רְפָּה (with scorn) וּכְלִמָּ֑ה (and disgrace)
מְ֝בַקְשֵׁ֗י (those seeking) רָעָתִֽי׃ (my harm).
14 וַ֭אֲנִי (And I) תָּמִ֣יד (continually) אֲיַחֵ֑ל (will hope),
וְ֝הוֹסַפְתִּ֗י (and I will add) עַל־ (upon) כָּל־ (all) תְּהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃ (Your praise).
15 פִּ֤י׀ (My mouth) יְסַפֵּ֬ר (will recount) צִדְקָתֶ֗ךָ (Your righteousness),
כָּל־ (all) הַיּ֥וֹם (the day) תְּשׁוּעָתֶ֑ךָ (Your salvation),
כִּ֤י (though) לֹ֖א (not) יָדַ֣עְתִּי (I do know) סְפֹרֽוֹת׃ (the numbers).
16 אָב֗וֹא (I will come) בִּ֭גְבֻרוֹת (in the might) אֲדֹנָ֣י (of the Lord) יְהוִ֑ה (YHWH);
אַזְכִּ֖יר (I will cause to be remembered) צִדְקָתְךָ֣ (Your righteousness)— לְבַדֶּֽךָ׃ (Yours alone).
17 אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים (O God), לִמַּדְתַּ֥נִי (You have taught me) מִנְּעוּרָ֑י (from my youth),
וְעַד־ (and until) הֵ֝֗נָּה (now) אַגִּ֥יד (I declare) נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ (Your wonders).
18 וְגַ֤ם (Indeed) עַד־ (when) זִקְנָ֨ה׀ (I am old) וְשֵׂיבָה֮ (and grayheaded),
אֱלֹהִ֪ים (O God), אַֽל־ (do not) תַּעַ֫זְבֵ֥נִי (forsake me),
עַד־ (until) אַגִּ֣יד (I declare) זְרוֹעֲךָ֣ (Your arm) לְד֑וֹר (to a generation),
לְכָל־ (to everyone) יָ֝ב֗וֹא (to come) גְּבוּרָתֶֽךָ׃ (Your strength).
19 וְצִדְקָתְךָ֥ (And Your righteousness), אֱלֹהִ֗ים (O God), עַד־ (is to) מָ֫ר֥וֹם (the height),
אֲשֶׁר־ (You who) עָשִׂ֥יתָ (have done) גְדֹל֑וֹת (great things).
אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים (O God), מִ֣י (who is) כָמֽוֹךָ׃ (like You)?
20 אֲשֶׁ֤ר (Though) הִרְאִיתַנוּ (You have made me see) צָר֥וֹת (troubles) רַבּ֗וֹת (many) וְרָ֫ע֥וֹת (and distresses),
תָּשׁ֥וּב (You will return), תְּחַיֵּינוּ (and revive us),
וּֽמִתְּהֹמ֥וֹת (and from the depths) הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ (of the earth)
תָּשׁ֥וּב (You will return), תַּעֲלֵֽנִי׃ (and bring me up).
21 תֶּ֤רֶב׀ (You will increase) גְּֽדֻלָּתִ֗י (my honor),
וְתִסֹּ֥ב (and surrounding me), תְּֽנַחֲמֵֽנִי׃ (You will comfort me).
22 גַּם־ (Also) אֲנִ֤י׀ (I) אוֹדְךָ֣ (will praise You) בִכְלִי־ (with) נֶבֶל֮ (the harp)—
אֲמִתְּךָ֪ (for Your faithfulness), אֱלֹ֫הָ֥י (O my God);
אֲזַמְּרָ֣ה (I will make music) לְךָ֣ (to You) בְכִנּ֑וֹר (with the lyre),
קְ֝ד֗וֹשׁ (O Holy One) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (of Israel).
23 תְּרַנֵּ֣נָּ֣ה (Will shout for joy) שְׂ֭פָתַי (My lips)
כִּ֣י (when) אֲזַמְּרָה־ (when I sing praises) לָּ֑ךְ (to You),
וְ֝נַפְשִׁ֗י (even my soul),
אֲשֶׁ֣ר (which) פָּדִֽיתָ׃ (You have redeemed).
24 גַּם־ (Also) לְשׁוֹנִ֗י (My tongue) כָּל־ (all)
הַ֭יּוֹם (the day) תֶּהְגֶּ֣ה (shall utter) צִדְקָתֶ֑ךָ (Your righteousness),
כִּי־ (for) בֹ֥שׁוּ (they have been put to shame), כִֽי־ (for)
חָ֝פְר֗וּ (they are humiliated), מְבַקְשֵׁ֥י (those seeking) רָעָתִֽי׃ (my harm).
