1	The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:	And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,	The LORD said to Moses,
2	Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: Be ye holy, because I the Lord your God am holy.	“Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.	“Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: ‘Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy.
3	Let every one fear his father, and his mother. Keep my sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.	Every one of you shall revere his mother and his father, and you shall keep my Sabbaths: I am the LORD your God.	“’Each of you must respect your mother and father, and you must observe my Sabbaths. I am the LORD your God.
4	Turn ye not to idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods. I am the Lord your God.	Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves any gods of cast metal: I am the LORD your God.	“’Do not turn to idols or make metal gods for yourselves. I am the LORD your God.
5	If ye offer in sacrifice a peace offering to the Lord, that he may be favourable,	“When you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD, you shall offer it so that you may be accepted.	“’When you sacrifice a fellowship offering to the LORD, sacrifice it in such a way that it will be accepted on your behalf.
6	You shall eat it on the same day it was offered, and the next day: and whatsoever shall be left until the third day, you shall burn with fire.	It shall be eaten the same day you offer it or on the day after, and anything left over until the third day shall be burned up with fire.	It shall be eaten on the day you sacrifice it or on the next day; anything left over until the third day must be burned up.
7	If after two days ally man eat thereof, he shall be profane and guilty of impiety:	If it is eaten at all on the third day, it is tainted; it will not be accepted,	If any of it is eaten on the third day, it is impure and will not be accepted.
8	And shall bear his iniquity, because he hath defiled the holy thing of the Lord, and that soul shall perish from among his people.	and everyone who eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned what is holy to the LORD, and that person shall be cut off from his people.	Whoever eats it will be held responsible because they have desecrated what is holy to the LORD; they must be cut off from their people.
9	When thou reapest the corn of thy land, thou shalt not cut down all that is on the face of the earth to the very ground: nor shalt thou gather the ears that remain.	“When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, neither shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest.	“’When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest.
10	Neither shalt thou gather the bunches and grapes that fall down in thy vineyard, but shalt leave them to the poor and the strangers to take. I am the Lord your God.	And you shall not strip your vineyard bare, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the LORD your God.	Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the LORD your God.
11	You shall not steal. You shall not lie, neither shall any man deceive his neighbour.	“You shall not steal; you shall not deal falsely; you shall not lie to one another.	“’Do not steal. “’Do not lie. “’Do not deceive one another.
12	Thou shalt not swear falsely by my name, nor profane the name of thy God. I am the Lord.	You shall not swear by my name falsely, and so profane the name of your God: I am the LORD.	“’Do not swear falsely by my name and so profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.
13	Thou shalt not calumniate thy neighbour, nor oppress him by violence. The wages of him that hath been hired by thee shall not abide with thee until the morning.	“You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired worker shall not remain with you all night until the morning.	“’Do not defraud or rob your neighbor. “’Do not hold back the wages of a hired worker overnight.
14	Thou shalt not speak evil of the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind: but thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, because I am the Lord.	You shall not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block before the blind, but you shall fear your God: I am the LORD.	“’Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the LORD.
15	Thou shalt not do that which is unjust, nor judge unjustly. Respect not the person of the poor, nor honour the countenance of the mighty. But judge thy neighbour according to justice.	“You shall do no injustice in court. You shall not be partial to the poor or defer to the great, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor.	“’Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly.
16	Thou shalt not be a detractor nor a whisperer among the people. Thou shalt not stand against the blood of thy neighbour. I am the Lord.	You shall not go around as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand up against the life of your neighbor: I am the LORD.	“’Do not go about spreading slander among your people. “’Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the LORD.
17	Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart, but reprove him openly, lest thou incur sin through him.	“You shall not hate your brother in your heart, but you shall reason frankly with your neighbor, lest you incur sin because of him.	“’Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt.
18	Seek not revenge, nor be mindful of the injury of thy citizens. Thou shalt love thy friend as thyself. I am the Lord.	You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.	“’Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.
19	Keep ye my laws. Thou shalt not make thy cattle to gender with beasts of any other kind. Thou shalt not sow thy field with different seeds. Thou shalt not wear a garment that is woven of two sorts.	“You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind. You shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor shall you wear a garment of cloth made of two kinds of material.	“’Keep my decrees. “’Do not mate different kinds of animals. “’Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. “’Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.
20	If a man carnally lie with a woman that is a bondservant and marriageable, and yet not redeemed with a price, nor made free: they both shall be scourged, and they shall not be put to death, because she was not a free woman.	“If a man lies sexually with a woman who is a slave, assigned to another man and not yet ransomed or given her freedom, a distinction shall be made. They shall not be put to death, because she was not free;	“’If a man sleeps with a female slave who is promised to another man but who has not been ransomed or given her freedom, there must be due punishment. Yet they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed.
21	And for his trespass he shall offer a ram to the Lord, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony:	but he shall bring his compensation to the LORD, to the entrance of the tent of meeting, a ram for a guilt offering.	The man, however, must bring a ram to the entrance to the tent of meeting for a guilt offering to the LORD.
22	And the priest shall pray for him and for his sin before the Lord, and he shall have mercy on him, and the sin shall be forgiven.	And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering before the LORD for his sin that he has committed, and he shall be forgiven for the sin that he has committed.	With the ram of the guilt offering the priest is to make atonement for him before the LORD for the sin he has committed, and his sin will be forgiven.
23	When you shall be come into the land, and shall have planted in it fruit trees, you shall take away the firstfruits of them: the fruit that comes forth shall be unclean to you, neither shall you eat of them.	“When you come into the land and plant any kind of tree for food, then you shall regard its fruit as forbidden. Three years it shall be forbidden to you; it must not be eaten.	“’When you enter the land and plant any kind of fruit tree, regard its fruit as forbidden. For three years you are to consider it forbidden; it must not be eaten.
24	But in the fourth year, all their fruit shall be sanctified, to the praise of the Lord.	And in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, an offering of praise to the LORD.	In the fourth year all its fruit will be holy, an offering of praise to the LORD.
25	And in the fifth year you shall eat the fruits thereof, gathering the increase thereof. I am the Lord your God.	But in the fifth year you may eat of its fruit, to increase its yield for you: I am the LORD your God.	But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit. In this way your harvest will be increased. I am the LORD your God.
26	You shall not eat with blood. You shall not divine nor observe dreams.	“You shall not eat any flesh with the blood in it. You shall not interpret omens or tell fortunes.	“’Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it. “’Do not practice divination or seek omens.
27	Nor shall you cut your hair roundwise: nor shave your beard.	You shall not round off the hair on your temples or mar the edges of your beard.	“’Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.
28	You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh, for the dead, neither shall you make in yourselves any figures or marks: I am the Lord.	You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the LORD.	“’Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.
29	Make not thy daughter a common strumpet, lest the land be defiled, and filled with wickedness.	“Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, lest the land fall into prostitution and the land become full of depravity.	“’Do not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to prostitution and be filled with wickedness.
30	Keep ye my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary. I am the Lord.	You shall keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD.	“’Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.
31	31Go not aside after wizards, neither ask any thing of soothsayers, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.	“Do not turn to mediums or necromancers; do not seek them out, and so make yourselves unclean by them: I am the LORD your God.	“’Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.
32	Rise up before the hoary head, and honour the person of the aged man: and fear the Lord thy God. I am the Lord.	“You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the LORD.	“’Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD.
33	If a stranger dwell in your land, and abide among you, do not upbraid him :	“When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong.	“’When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them.
34	But let him be among you as one of the same country: and you shall love him as yourselves: for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.	You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.	The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.
35	Do not any unjust thing in judgment, in rule, in weight, or in measure.	“You shall do no wrong in judgment, in measures of length or weight or quantity.	“’Do not use dishonest standards when measuring length, weight or quantity.
36	Let the balance be just and the weights equal, the bushel just, and the sextary equal. I am the Lord your God, that brought you out of the land of Egypt.	You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin: I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.	Use honest scales and honest weights, an honest ephah and an honest hin. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt.
37	Keep all my precepts, and all my judgments, and do them. I am the Lord.	And you shall observe all my statutes and all my rules, and do them: I am the LORD.”	“’Keep all my decrees and all my laws and follow them. I am the LORD.’”
