And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, The LORD said to Moses,
Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: I am the Lord your God. “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, I am the LORD your God. “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘I am the LORD your God.
You shall not do according to the custom of the land of Egypt, in which you dwelt: neither shall you act according to the manner of the country of Chanaan, into which I will bring you, nor shall you walk in their ordinances. You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived, and you shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, to which I am bringing you. You shall not walk in their statutes. You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices.
You shall do my judgments, and shall observe my precepts, and shall walk in them. I am the Lord your God. You shall follow my rules and keep my statutes and walk in them. I am the LORD your God. You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the LORD your God.
Keep my laws and my judgments, which if a man do, he shall live in them. I am the Lord. You shall therefore keep my statutes and my rules; if a person does them, he shall live by them: I am the LORD. Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the LORD.
No man shall approach to her that is near of kin to him, to uncover her nakedness. I am the Lord. “None of you shall approach any one of his close relatives to uncover nakedness. I am the LORD. “’No one is to approach any close relative to have sexual relations. I am the LORD.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother: she is thy mother, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, which is the nakedness of your mother; she is your mother, you shall not uncover her nakedness. “’Do not dishonor your father by having sexual relations with your mother. She is your mother; do not have relations with her.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's wife: for it is the nakedness of thy father. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife; it is your father’s nakedness. “’Do not have sexual relations with your father’s wife; that would dishonor your father.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy sister by father or by mother, whether born at home or abroad. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your sister, your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether brought up in the family or in another home. “’Do not have sexual relations with your sister, either your father’s daughter or your mother’s daughter, whether she was born in the same home or elsewhere.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy son's daughter, or thy daughter's daughter: because it is thy own nakedness. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your son’s daughter or of your daughter’s daughter, for their nakedness is your own nakedness. “’Do not have sexual relations with your son’s daughter or your daughter’s daughter; that would dishonor you.
11Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, whom she bore to thy father, and who is thy sister. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, brought up in your father’s family, since she is your sister. “’Do not have sexual relations with the daughter of your father’s wife, born to your father; she is your sister.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: because she is the flesh of thy father. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister; she is your father’s relative. “’Do not have sexual relations with your father’s sister; she is your father’s close relative.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister: because she is thy mother's flesh. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister, for she is your mother’s relative. “’Do not have sexual relations with your mother’s sister, because she is your mother’s close relative.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother: neither shalt thou approach to his wife, who is joined to thee by affinity. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother, that is, you shall not approach his wife; she is your aunt. “’Do not dishonor your father’s brother by approaching his wife to have sexual relations; she is your aunt.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: because she is thy son's wife, neither shalt thou discover her shame. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law; she is your son’s wife, you shall not uncover her nakedness. “’Do not have sexual relations with your daughter-in-law. She is your son’s wife; do not have relations with her.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: because it is the nakedness of thy brother. You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife; it is your brother’s nakedness. “’Do not have sexual relations with your brother’s wife; that would dishonor your brother.
Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy wife and her daughter. Thou shalt not take her son's daughter or her daughter's daughter, to discover her shame: because they are her flesh, and such copulation is incest. You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and of her daughter, and you shall not take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter to uncover her nakedness; they are relatives; it is depravity. “’Do not have sexual relations with both a woman and her daughter. Do not have sexual relations with either her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter; they are her close relatives. That is wickedness.
Thou shalt not take thy wife's sister for a harlot, to rival her, neither shalt thou discover her nakedness, while she is yet living. And you shall not take a woman as a rival wife to her sister, uncovering her nakedness while her sister is still alive. “’Do not take your wife’s sister as a rival wife and have sexual relations with her while your wife is living.
Thou shalt not approach to a woman having her flowers, neither shalt thou uncover her nakedness. “You shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness while she is in her menstrual uncleanness. “’Do not approach a woman to have sexual relations during the uncleanness of her monthly period.
Thou shalt not lie with thy neighbour's wife, nor be defiled with mingling of seed. And you shall not lie sexually with your neighbor’s wife and so make yourself unclean with her. “’Do not have sexual relations with your neighbor’s wife and defile yourself with her.
Thou shalt not give any of thy seed to be consecrated to the idol Moloch, nor defile the name of thy God : I am the Lord. You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, and so profane the name of your God: I am the LORD. “’Do not give any of your children to be sacrificed to Molek, for you must not profane the name of your God. I am the LORD.
Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind, because it is an abomination. You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. “’Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.
Thou shalt not copulate with any beast, neither shalt thou be defiled with it. A woman shall not lie down to a beast, nor copulate with it: because it is a heinous crime. And you shall not lie with any animal and so make yourself unclean with it, neither shall any woman give herself to an animal to lie with it: it is perversion. “’Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.
Defile not yourselves with any of these things with which all the nations have been defiled, which I will cast out before you, “Do not make yourselves unclean by any of these things, for by all these the nations I am driving out before you have become unclean, “’Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, because this is how the nations that I am going to drive out before you became defiled.
And with which the land is defiled: the abominations of which I will visit, that it may vomit out its inhabitants. and the land became unclean, so that I punished its iniquity, and the land vomited out its inhabitants. Even the land was defiled; so I punished it for its sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants.
Keep ye my ordinances and my judgments, and do not any of these abominations: neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you. But you shall keep my statutes and my rules and do none of these abominations, either the native or the stranger who sojourns among you But you must keep my decrees and my laws. The native-born and the foreigners residing among you must not do any of these detestable things,
For all these detestable things the inhabitants of the land have done, that; were before you, and have defiled it. (for the people of the land, who were before you, did all of these abominations, so that the land became unclean), for all these things were done by the people who lived in the land before you, and the land became defiled.
Beware then, lest in like manner, it vomit you also out, if you do the like things, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. lest the land vomit you out when you make it unclean, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. And if you defile the land, it will vomit you out as it vomited out the nations that were before you.
Every soul that shall commit any of these abominations, shall perish from the midst of his people. For everyone who does any of these abominations, the persons who do them shall be cut off from among their people. “’Everyone who does any of these detestable things—such persons must be cut off from their people.
Keep my commandments. Do not the things which they have done, that have been before you, and be not defiled therein. I am the Lord your God. So keep my charge never to practice any of these abominable customs that were practiced before you, and never to make yourselves unclean by them: I am the LORD your God.” Keep my requirements and do not follow any of the detestable customs that were practiced before you came and do not defile yourselves with them. I am the LORD your God.’”
