NASB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995English Standard Version
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, For His lovingkindness is everlasting.1Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the adversary2Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble
And gathered from the lands, From the east and from the west, From the north and from the south.3and gathered in from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.
They wandered in the wilderness in a desert region; They did not find a way to an inhabited city.4Some wandered in desert wastes, finding no way to a city to dwell in;
They were hungry and thirsty; Their soul fainted within them.5hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them.
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses.6Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
He led them also by a straight way, To go to an inhabited city.7He led them by a straight way till they reached a city to dwell in.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men!8Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!
For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good.9For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.
There were those who dwelt in darkness and in the shadow of death, Prisoners in misery and chains,10Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, prisoners in affliction and in irons,
Because they had rebelled against the words of God And spurned the counsel of the Most High.11for they had rebelled against the words of God, and spurned the counsel of the Most High.
Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; They stumbled and there was none to help.12So he bowed their hearts down with hard labor; they fell down, with none to help.
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses.13Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death And broke their bands apart.14He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and burst their bonds apart.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men!15Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!
For He has shattered gates of bronze And cut bars of iron asunder.16For he shatters the doors of bronze and cuts in two the bars of iron.
Fools, because of their rebellious way, And because of their iniquities, were afflicted.17Some were fools through their sinful ways, and because of their iniquities suffered affliction;
Their soul abhorred all kinds of food, And they drew near to the gates of death.18they loathed any kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death.
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses.19Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.20He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men!21Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!
Let them also offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, And tell of His works with joyful singing.22And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of his deeds in songs of joy!
Those who go down to the sea in ships, Who do business on great waters;23Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters;
They have seen the works of the LORD, And His wonders in the deep.24they saw the deeds of the LORD, his wondrous works in the deep.
For He spoke and raised up a stormy wind, Which lifted up the waves of the sea.25For he commanded and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves of the sea.
They rose up to the heavens, they went down to the depths; Their soul melted away in their misery.26They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths; their courage melted away in their evil plight;
They reeled and staggered like a drunken man, And were at their wits' end.27they reeled and staggered like drunken men and were at their wits’ end.
Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, And He brought them out of their distresses.28Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
He caused the storm to be still, So that the waves of the sea were hushed.29He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.
Then they were glad because they were quiet, So He guided them to their desired haven.30Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men!31Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of man!
Let them extol Him also in the congregation of the people, And praise Him at the seat of the elders.32Let them extol him in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
He changes rivers into a wilderness And springs of water into a thirsty ground;33He turns rivers into a desert, springs of water into thirsty ground,
A fruitful land into a salt waste, Because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it.34a fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the evil of its inhabitants.
He changes a wilderness into a pool of water And a dry land into springs of water;35He turns a desert into pools of water, a parched land into springs of water.
And there He makes the hungry to dwell, So that they may establish an inhabited city,36And there he lets the hungry dwell, and they establish a city to live in;
And sow fields and plant vineyards, And gather a fruitful harvest.37they sow fields and plant vineyards and get a fruitful yield.
Also He blesses them and they multiply greatly, And He does not let their cattle decrease.38By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he does not let their livestock diminish.
When they are diminished and bowed down Through oppression, misery and sorrow,39When they are diminished and brought low through oppression, evil, and sorrow,
He pours contempt upon princes And makes them wander in a pathless waste.40he pours contempt on princes and makes them wander in trackless wastes;
But He sets the needy securely on high away from affliction, And makes his families like a flock.41but he raises up the needy out of affliction and makes their families like flocks.
The upright see it and are glad; But all unrighteousness shuts its mouth.42The upright see it and are glad, and all wickedness shuts its mouth.
Who is wise? Let him give heed to these things, And consider the lovingkindnesses of the LORD.43Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things; let them consider the steadfast love of the LORD.
