Garments for the Priests

1  וְאַתָּ֡ה (And you), הַקְרֵ֣ב (bring near) אֵלֶיךָ֩ (to you) אֶת־ (-) אַהֲרֹ֨ן (Aaron) אָחִ֜יךָ (your brother), וְאֶת־ (and) בָּנָ֣יו (his sons) אִתּ֔וֹ (with him), מִתּ֛וֹךְ (from the midst) בְּנֵ֥י (of the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל (of Israel), לְכַהֲנוֹ־ (that he may minister as priest) לִ֑י (to Me)— אַהֲרֹ֕ן (Aaron), נָדָ֧ב (Nadab) וַאֲבִיה֛וּא (and Abihu), אֶלְעָזָ֥ר (Eleazar) וְאִיתָמָ֖ר (and Ithamar), בְּנֵ֥י (the sons) אַהֲרֹֽן׃ (of Aaron). 2  וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ (And you shall make) בִגְדֵי־ (garments) קֹ֖דֶשׁ (holy) לְאַהֲרֹ֣ן (for Aaron) אָחִ֑יךָ (your brother), לְכָב֖וֹד (for glory) וּלְתִפְאָֽרֶת׃ (and for beauty).

3  וְאַתָּ֗ה (And you) תְּדַבֵּר֙ (shall speak) אֶל־ (to) כָּל־ (all) חַכְמֵי־ (the wise) לֵ֔ב (of heart), אֲשֶׁ֥ר (whom) מִלֵּאתִ֖יו (I have filled with) ר֣וּחַ (a spirit) חָכְמָ֑ה (of wisdom), וְעָשׂ֞וּ (and they shall make) אֶת־ (-) בִּגְדֵ֧י (the garments) אַהֲרֹ֛ן (of Aaron) לְקַדְּשׁ֖וֹ (to sanctify him), לְכַהֲנוֹ־ (that he may minister as priest) לִֽי׃ (to Me). 4  וְאֵ֨לֶּה (And these are) הַבְּגָדִ֜ים (the garments) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that) יַעֲשׂ֗וּ (they shall make): חֹ֤שֶׁן (A breastplate), וְאֵפוֹד֙ (and an ephod), וּמְעִ֔יל (and a robe), וּכְתֹ֥נֶת (and a tunic) תַּשְׁבֵּ֖ץ (woven), מִצְנֶ֣פֶת (a turban), וְאַבְנֵ֑ט (and a sash). וְעָשׂ֨וּ (And they shall make) בִגְדֵי־ (garments) קֹ֜דֶשׁ (holy) לְאַהֲרֹ֥ן (for Aaron) אָחִ֛יךָ (your brother) וּלְבָנָ֖יו (and his sons), לְכַהֲנוֹ־ (that he may minister as priest) לִֽי׃ (to Me). 5  וְהֵם֙ (And they) יִקְח֣וּ (shall take) אֶת־ (-) הַזָּהָ֔ב (the gold), וְאֶת־ (and) הַתְּכֵ֖לֶת (the blue), וְאֶת־ (and) הָֽאַרְגָּמָ֑ן (the purple), וְאֶת־ (and) תּוֹלַ֥עַת (the yarn) הַשָּׁנִ֖י (the scarlet), וְאֶת־ (and) הַשֵּֽׁשׁ׃פ (the fine linen).

The Ephod
(Exodus 39:1–7)

6  וְעָשׂ֖וּ (And they shall make) אֶת־ (-) הָאֵפֹ֑ד (the ephod) זָ֠הָב (of gold), תְּכֵ֨לֶת (blue), וְאַרְגָּמָ֜ן (and purple), תּוֹלַ֧עַת (and yarn) שָׁנִ֛י (scarlet), וְשֵׁ֥שׁ (and linen) מָשְׁזָ֖ר (finely woven), מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה (the work) חֹשֵֽׁב׃ (of a designer). 7  שְׁתֵּ֧י (Two) כְתֵפֹ֣ת (shoulder straps) חֹֽבְרֹ֗ת (joined) יִֽהְיֶה־ (it shall have) לּ֛וֹ (unto it) אֶל־ (at) שְׁנֵ֥י (the two) קְצוֹתָ֖יו (ends), וְחֻבָּֽר׃ (and it shall be joined). 8  וְחֵ֤שֶׁב (And the skillfully woven waistband) אֲפֻדָּתוֹ֙ (of his ephod) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that is) עָלָ֔יו (on it) כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֖הוּ (according to its work) מִמֶּ֣נּוּ (from it) יִהְיֶ֑ה (it shall be): זָהָ֗ב (Gold), תְּכֵ֧לֶת (blue) וְאַרְגָּמָ֛ן (and purple), וְתוֹלַ֥עַת (and yarn) שָׁנִ֖י (scarlet), וְשֵׁ֥שׁ (and linen) מָשְׁזָֽר׃ (finely woven).

9  וְלָ֣קַחְתָּ֔ (And you shall take) אֶת־ (-) שְׁתֵּ֖י (two) אַבְנֵי־ (stones) שֹׁ֑הַם (onyx), וּפִתַּחְתָּ֣ (and you shall engrave) עֲלֵיהֶ֔ם (on them) שְׁמ֖וֹת (the names) בְּנֵ֥י (of the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ (of Israel), 10  שִׁשָּׁה֙ (six) מִשְּׁמֹתָ֔ם (of their names) עַ֖ל (on) הָאֶ֣בֶן (the stone) הָאֶחָ֑ת (the one), וְאֶת־ (and) שְׁמ֞וֹת (the names) הַשִּׁשָּׁ֧ה (the six) הַנּוֹתָרִ֛ים (of the remaining) עַל־ (on) הָאֶ֥בֶן (the stone) הַשֵּׁנִ֖ית (the second), כְּתוֹלְדֹתָֽם׃ (according to their births), 11  מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה (the work) חָרַשׁ֮ (of an engraver) אֶבֶן֒ (of stone), פִּתּוּחֵ֣י (engravings) חֹתָ֗ם (of a signet), תְּפַתַּח֙ (you shall engrave) אֶת־ (-) שְׁתֵּ֣י (two) הָאֲבָנִ֔ים (the stones) עַל־ (with) שְׁמֹ֖ת (the names) בְּנֵ֣י (of the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (of Israel); מֻסַבֹּ֛ת (turned) מִשְׁבְּצ֥וֹת (in settings) זָהָ֖ב (of gold) תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה (you shall make) אֹתָֽם׃ (them). 12  וְשַׂמְתָּ֞ (And you shall put) אֶת־ (-) שְׁתֵּ֣י (two) הָאֲבָנִ֗ים (the stones) עַ֚ל (on) כִּתְפֹ֣ת (the shoulders) הָֽאֵפֹ֔ד (of the ephod), אַבְנֵ֥י (stones) זִכָּרֹ֖ן (of memorial) לִבְנֵ֣י (for the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל (of Israel). וְנָשָׂא֩ (And shall bear) אַהֲרֹ֨ן (Aaron) אֶת־ (-) שְׁמוֹתָ֜ם (their names) לִפְנֵ֧י (before the face of) יְהוָ֛ה (YHWH) עַל־ (on) שְׁתֵּ֥י (two) כְתֵפָ֖יו (his shoulders) לְזִכָּרֹֽן׃ס (for a memorial).

13  וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ (And you shall make) מִשְׁבְּצֹ֖ת (settings) זָהָֽב׃ (of gold) 14  וּשְׁתֵּ֤י (and two) שַׁרְשְׁרֹת֙ (chains) זָהָ֣ב (of gold), טָה֔וֹר (pure) מִגְבָּלֹ֛ת (braided) תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה (you shall make) אֹתָ֖ם (them) מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה (work) עֲבֹ֑ת (cord); וְנָתַתָּ֛ה (and you shall put) אֶת־ (-) שַׁרְשְׁרֹ֥ת (chains) הָעֲבֹתֹ֖ת (of the cords) עַל־ (on) הַֽמִּשְׁבְּצֹֽת׃ס (the settings).

The Breastpiece
(Exodus 39:8–21)

15  וְעָשִׂ֜יתָ (And you shall make) חֹ֤שֶׁן (the breastplate) מִשְׁפָּט֙ (of judgment), מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה (the work) חֹשֵׁ֔ב (of a designer). כְּמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה (According to the workmanship) אֵפֹ֖ד (of the ephod), תַּעֲשֶׂ֑נּוּ (you shall make it) זָ֠הָב (of gold), תְּכֵ֨לֶת (blue), וְאַרְגָּמָ֜ן (and purple), וְתוֹלַ֧עַת (and yarn) שָׁנִ֛י (scarlet), וְשֵׁ֥שׁ (and linen) מָשְׁזָ֖ר (finely woven). תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה (You shall make) אֹתֽוֹ׃ (it) 16  רָב֥וּעַ (square); יִֽהְיֶ֖ה (it shall be) כָּפ֑וּל (doubled), זֶ֥רֶת (a span) אָרְכּ֖וֹ (its length) וְזֶ֥רֶת (and a span) רָחְבּֽוֹ׃ (its width).

17  וּמִלֵּאתָ֥ (And you shall fill) בוֹ֙ (in it) מִלֻּ֣אַת (fillings) אֶ֔בֶן (of stone), אַרְבָּעָ֖ה (four) טוּרִ֣ים (rows) אָ֑בֶן (of stone)

ט֗וּר (a row): אֹ֤דֶם (Of ruby), פִּטְדָה֙ (topaz), וּבָרֶ֔קֶת (and emerald), הַטּ֖וּר (the row) הָאֶחָֽד׃ (first).

18  וְהַטּ֖וּר (And the row) הַשֵּׁנִ֑י (second), נֹ֥פֶךְ (turquoise), סַפִּ֖יר (sapphire), וְיָהֲלֹֽם׃ (and diamond).

19  וְהַטּ֖וּר (And the row) הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֑י (third), לֶ֥שֶׁם (jacinth), שְׁב֖וֹ (agate), וְאַחְלָֽמָה׃ (and amethyst).

20  וְהַטּוּר֙ (And the row) הָרְבִיעִ֔י (fourth), תַּרְשִׁ֥ישׁ (beryl), וְשֹׁ֖הַם (and onyx), וְיָשְׁפֵ֑ה (and jasper).

מְשֻׁבָּצִ֥ים (Set) זָהָ֛ב (in gold) יִהְי֖וּ (they shall be) בְּמִלּוּאֹתָֽם׃ (in their fillings). 21  וְ֠הָאֲבָנִים (And the stones) תִּֽהְיֶ֜יןָ (shall be) עַל־ (according to) שְׁמֹ֧ת (the names) בְּנֵֽי־ (of the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל (of Israel), שְׁתֵּ֥ים (two) עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה (and ten), עַל־ (according to) שְׁמֹתָ֑ם (their names), פִּתּוּחֵ֤י (the engravings) חוֹתָם֙ (of a signet); אִ֣ישׁ (each one) עַל־ (according to) שְׁמ֔וֹ (his name) תִּֽהְיֶ֕יןָ (they shall be) לִשְׁנֵ֥י (for the two) עָשָׂ֖ר (and ten) שָֽׁבֶט׃ (tribes).

22  וְעָשִׂ֧יתָ (And you shall make) עַל־ (on) הַחֹ֛שֶׁן (the breastplate) שַֽׁרְשֹׁ֥ת (chains) גַּבְלֻ֖ת (a braided), מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה (work) עֲבֹ֑ת (of cords) זָהָ֖ב (of gold) טָהֽוֹר׃ (pure). 23  וְעָשִׂ֙יתָ֙ (And you shall make) עַל־ (on) הַחֹ֔שֶׁן (the breastplate) שְׁתֵּ֖י (two) טַבְּע֣וֹת (rings) זָהָ֑ב (of gold), וְנָתַתָּ֗ (and you shall put) אֶת־ (-) שְׁתֵּי֙ (two) הַטַּבָּע֔וֹת (the rings) עַל־ (on) שְׁנֵ֖י (the two) קְצ֥וֹת (ends) הַחֹֽשֶׁן׃ (of the breastplate). 24  וְנָתַתָּ֗ה (And you shall put) אֶת־ (-) שְׁתֵּי֙ (the two) עֲבֹתֹ֣ת (cords) הַזָּהָ֔ב (of gold) עַל־ (on) שְׁתֵּ֖י (two) הַטַּבָּעֹ֑ת (the rings), אֶל־ (at) קְצ֖וֹת (the ends) הַחֹֽשֶׁן׃ (of the breastplate). 25  וְאֵ֨ת (And) שְׁתֵּ֤י (the two) קְצוֹת֙ (ends) שְׁתֵּ֣י (of the two) הָעֲבֹתֹ֔ת (cords) תִּתֵּ֖ן (you shall put) עַל־ (on) שְׁתֵּ֣י (the two) הַֽמִּשְׁבְּצ֑וֹת (settings), וְנָתַתָּ֛ה (and you shall put them) עַל־ (on) כִּתְפ֥וֹת (the shoulder straps) הָאֵפֹ֖ד (of the ephod), אֶל־ (toward) מ֥וּל (the front) פָּנָֽיו׃ (of its face).

26  וְעָשִׂ֗יתָ (And you shall make) שְׁתֵּי֙ (two) טַבְּע֣וֹת (rings) זָהָ֔ב (of gold), וְשַׂמְתָּ֣ (and you shall put) אֹתָ֔ם (them) עַל־ (on) שְׁנֵ֖י (the two) קְצ֣וֹת (ends) הַחֹ֑שֶׁן (of the breastplate), עַל־ (on) שְׂפָת֕וֹ (its edge) אֲשֶׁ֛ר (that is) אֶל־ (toward) עֵ֥בֶר (the side) הָאֵפֹ֖ד (of the ephod) בָּֽיְתָה׃ (inwardly).

27  וְעָשִׂיתָ֮ (And you shall make) שְׁתֵּ֣י (two) טַבְּע֣וֹת (rings) זָהָב֒ (of gold), וְנָתַתָּ֣ה (and you shall put) אֹתָ֡ם (them) עַל־ (on) שְׁתֵּי֩ (the two) כִתְפ֨וֹת (shoulders) הָאֵפ֤וֹד (of the ephod) מִלְּמַ֙טָּה֙ (from below), מִמּ֣וּל (toward) פָּנָ֔יו (its face) לְעֻמַּ֖ת (right at) מֶחְבַּרְתּ֑וֹ (the seam) מִמַּ֕עַל (above) לְחֵ֖שֶׁב (the skillfully woven waistband) הָאֵפֽוֹד׃ (of the ephod). 28  וְיִרְכְּס֣וּ (And they shall bind) אֶת־ (-) הַ֠חֹשֶׁן (the breastplate) מִטַּבְּעֹתוֹ (by its rings) אֶל־ (to) טַבְּעֹ֤ת (the rings) הָאֵפֹד֙ (of the ephod) בִּפְתִ֣יל (with a cord) תְּכֵ֔לֶת (blue), לִֽהְי֖וֹת (to be) עַל־ (on) חֵ֣שֶׁב (the skillfully woven waistband) הָאֵפ֑וֹד (of the ephod), וְלֹֽא־ (and not) יִזַּ֣ח (shall come loose) הַחֹ֔שֶׁן (the breastplate) מֵעַ֖ל (from on) הָאֵפֽוֹד׃ (the ephod).

29  וְנָשָׂ֣א (And shall bear) אַ֠הֲרֹן (Aaron) אֶת־ (-) שְׁמ֨וֹת (the names) בְּנֵֽי־ (of the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל (of Israel) בְּחֹ֧שֶׁן (on the breastplate) הַמִּשְׁפָּ֛ט (of judgment) עַל־ (over) לִבּ֖וֹ (his heart) בְּבֹא֣וֹ (when he goes) אֶל־ (into) הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ (the Holy Place) לְזִכָּרֹ֥ן (for a memorial) לִפְנֵֽי־ (before the face of) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) תָּמִֽיד׃ (continually).

30  וְנָתַתָּ֞ (And you shall put) אֶל־ (in) חֹ֣שֶׁן (the breastplate) הַמִּשְׁפָּ֗ט (of judgment) אֶת־ (-) הָאוּרִים֙ (the Urim) וְאֶת־ (and) הַתֻּמִּ֔ים (the Thummim); וְהָיוּ֙ (and they shall be) עַל־ (over) לֵ֣ב (the heart) אַהֲרֹ֔ן (of Aaron) בְּבֹא֖וֹ (when he goes in) לִפְנֵ֣י (before the face of) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH). וְנָשָׂ֣א (And shall bear) אַ֠הֲרֹן (Aaron) אֶת־ (-) מִשְׁפַּ֨ט (the judgment) בְּנֵי־ (of the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל (of Israel) עַל־ (over) לִבּ֛וֹ (his heart) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face of) יְהוָ֖ה (YHWH) תָּמִֽיד׃ס (continually).

Additional Priestly Garments
(Exodus 39:22–31)

31  וְעָשִׂ֛יתָ (And you shall make) אֶת־ (-) מְעִ֥יל (the robe) הָאֵפ֖וֹד (of the ephod) כְּלִ֥יל (entirely) תְּכֵֽלֶת׃ (of blue). 32  וְהָיָ֥ה (And there shall be) פִֽי־ (an opening) רֹאשׁ֖וֹ (for his head) בְּתוֹכ֑וֹ (in the middle of it); שָׂפָ֡ה (an edge) יִֽהְיֶה֩ (it shall have) לְפִ֨יו (for its opening) סָבִ֜יב (all around) מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה (the work) אֹרֵ֗ג (of a weaver) כְּפִ֥י (like the opening) תַחְרָ֛א (of a corselet), יִֽהְיֶה־ (it shall be) לּ֖וֹ (that it) לֹ֥א (not) יִקָּרֵֽעַ׃ (does tear).

33  וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ (And you shall make) עַל־ (upon) שׁוּלָ֗יו (its hem) רִמֹּנֵי֙ (pomegranates) תְּכֵ֤לֶת (of blue), וְאַרְגָּמָן֙ (and purple), וְתוֹלַ֣עַת (and) שָׁנִ֔י (scarlet) עַל־ (on) שׁוּלָ֖יו (its hem) סָבִ֑יב (all around), וּפַעֲמֹנֵ֥י (and bells) זָהָ֛ב (of gold) בְּתוֹכָ֖ם (in the midst of them) סָבִֽיב׃ (all around), 34  פַּעֲמֹ֤ן (a bell) זָהָב֙ (golden) וְרִמּ֔וֹן (and a pomegranate), פַּֽעֲמֹ֥ן (a bell) זָהָ֖ב (golden) וְרִמּ֑וֹן (and a pomegranate), עַל־ (upon) שׁוּלֵ֥י (the hem) הַמְּעִ֖יל (of the robe) סָבִֽיב׃ (all around).

35  וְהָיָ֥ה (And it shall be) עַֽל־ (upon) אַהֲרֹ֖ן (Aaron) לְשָׁרֵ֑ת (to minister), וְנִשְׁמַ֣ע (and will be heard) ק֠וֹלוֹ (its sound) בְּבֹא֨וֹ (when he goes) אֶל־ (into) הַקֹּ֜דֶשׁ (the Holy Place) לִפְנֵ֧י (before the face of) יְהוָ֛ה (YHWH), וּבְצֵאת֖וֹ (and when he comes out), וְלֹ֥א (and not) יָמֽוּת׃ס (he shall die).

36  וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ (And you shall make) צִּ֖יץ (a plate) זָהָ֣ב (of gold) טָה֑וֹר (pure), וּפִתַּחְתָּ֤ (and you shall engrave) עָלָיו֙ (on it) פִּתּוּחֵ֣י (the engravings) חֹתָ֔ם (of a signet):

קֹ֖דֶשׁ (HOLY) לַֽיהוָֽה׃ (to YHWH).

37  וְשַׂמְתָּ֤ (And you shall put) אֹתוֹ֙ (it) עַל־ (on) פְּתִ֣יל (a cord) תְּכֵ֔לֶת (blue), וְהָיָ֖ה (and it shall be) עַל־ (on) הַמִּצְנָ֑פֶת (the turban); אֶל־ (toward) מ֥וּל (the front) פְּנֵֽי־ (of the face) הַמִּצְנֶ֖פֶת (of the turban) יִהְיֶֽה׃ (it shall be). 38  וְהָיָה֮ (And it shall be) עַל־ (on) מֵ֣צַח (the forehead) אַהֲרֹן֒ (of Aaron), וְנָשָׂ֨א (shall bear) אַהֲרֹ֜ן (Aaron) אֶת־ (-) עֲוֺ֣ן (the iniquity) הַקֳּדָשִׁ֗ים (of the holy things), אֲשֶׁ֤ר (that) יַקְדִּ֙ישׁוּ֙ (shall sanctify) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל (of Israel) לְכָֽל־ (for all) מַתְּנֹ֖ת (gifts) קָדְשֵׁיהֶ֑ם (their holy); וְהָיָ֤ה (and it shall be) עַל־ (on) מִצְחוֹ֙ (his forehead) תָּמִ֔יד (continually), לְרָצ֥וֹן (for a pleasing thing) לָהֶ֖ם (for them) לִפְנֵ֥י (before the face of) יְהוָֽה׃ (YHWH).

39  וְשִׁבַּצְתָּ֙ (And you shall weave) הַכְּתֹ֣נֶת (the tunic) שֵׁ֔שׁ (of fine linen), וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ (and you shall make) מִצְנֶ֣פֶת (the turban) שֵׁ֑שׁ (of fine linen), וְאַבְנֵ֥ט (and the sash) תַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה (you shall make) מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה (the work) רֹקֵֽם׃ (of a weaver). 40  וְלִבְנֵ֤י (And for the sons) אַהֲרֹן֙ (of Aaron) תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה (you shall make) כֻתֳּנֹ֔ת (tunics), וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ (and you shall make) לָהֶ֖ם (for them) אַבְנֵטִ֑ים (sashes), וּמִגְבָּעוֹת֙ (and headbands) תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה (you shall make) לָהֶ֔ם (for them) לְכָב֖וֹד (for glory) וּלְתִפְאָֽרֶת׃ (and for beauty).

41  וְהִלְבַּשְׁתָּ֤ (And you shall put on) אֹתָם֙ (them) אֶת־ (-) אַהֲרֹ֣ן (Aaron) אָחִ֔יךָ (your brother), וְאֶת־ (and) בָּנָ֖יו (on his sons) אִתּ֑וֹ (with him), וּמָשַׁחְתָּ֨ (and you shall anoint) אֹתָ֜ם (them) וּמִלֵּאתָ֧ (and you shall fill) אֶת־ (-) יָדָ֛ם (their hand) וְקִדַּשְׁתָּ֥ (and you shall sanctify) אֹתָ֖ם (them) וְכִהֲנ֥וּ (and they shall minister as priests) לִֽי׃ (to Me).

42  וַעֲשֵׂ֤ה (And you shall make) לָהֶם֙ (for them) מִכְנְסֵי־ (undergarments) בָ֔ד (linen) לְכַסּ֖וֹת (to cover) בְּשַׂ֣ר (flesh) עֶרְוָ֑ה (naked); מִמָּתְנַ֥יִם (from the waist) וְעַד־ (and to) יְרֵכַ֖יִם (the thighs) יִהְיֽוּ׃ (they shall be). 43  וְהָיוּ֩ (And they shall be) עַל־ (on) אַהֲרֹ֨ן (Aaron), וְעַל־ (and on) בָּנָ֜יו (his sons), בְּבֹאָ֣ם׀ (when they come) אֶל־ (into) אֹ֣הֶל (the Tent) מוֹעֵ֗ד (of Meeting) א֣וֹ (or) בְגִשְׁתָּ֤ם (when they come near) אֶל־ (to) הַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ (the altar) לְשָׁרֵ֣ת (to minister) בַּקֹּ֔דֶשׁ (in the Holy Place), וְלֹא־ (and not) יִשְׂא֥וּ (they shall bear) עָוֺ֖ן (iniquity) וָמֵ֑תוּ (and die). חֻקַּ֥ת (It shall be a statute) עוֹלָ֛ם (forever) ל֖וֹ (for him) וּלְזַרְע֥וֹ (and for his seed) אַחֲרָֽיו׃ס (after him).
