The Bronze Altar
(Exodus 38:1–7)

1  וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ (And you shall make) אֶת־ (-) הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ (an altar) עֲצֵ֣י (of wood) שִׁטִּ֑ים (acacia), חָמֵשׁ֩ (five) אַמּ֨וֹת (cubits) אֹ֜רֶךְ (long) וְחָמֵ֧שׁ (and five) אַמּ֣וֹת (cubits) רֹ֗חַב (wide); רָב֤וּעַ (square) יִהְיֶה֙ (shall be) הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ (the altar), וְשָׁלֹ֥שׁ (and three) אַמּ֖וֹת (cubits) קֹמָתֽוֹ׃ (its height). 2  וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ (And you shall make) קַרְנֹתָ֗יו (its horns); עַ֚ל (on) אַרְבַּ֣ע (four) פִּנֹּתָ֔יו (its corners) מִמֶּ֖נּוּ (from it) תִּהְיֶ֣יןָ (shall be) קַרְנֹתָ֑יו (its horns); וְצִפִּיתָ֥ (and you shall overlay) אֹת֖וֹ (it) נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ (with bronze).

3  וְעָשִׂ֤יתָ (And you shall make) סִּֽירֹתָיו֙ (its pots) לְדַשְּׁנ֔וֹ (for removing its ashes), וְיָעָיו֙ (and its shovels), וּמִזְרְקֹתָ֔יו (and its basins), וּמִזְלְגֹתָ֖יו (and its forks), וּמַחְתֹּתָ֑יו (and its firepans); לְכָל־ (even all) כֵּלָ֖יו (its vessels) תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה (you shall make) נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ (of bronze). 4  וְעָשִׂ֤יתָ (And you shall make) לּוֹ֙ (for it) מִכְבָּ֔ר (a grate) מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה (of work) רֶ֣שֶׁת (of net) נְחֹ֑שֶׁת (of bronze); וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ (and you shall make) עַל־ (on) הָרֶ֗שֶׁת (the net) אַרְבַּע֙ (four) טַבְּעֹ֣ת (rings) נְחֹ֔שֶׁת (bronze) עַ֖ל (on) אַרְבַּ֥ע (its four) קְצוֹתָֽיו׃ (ends). 5  וְנָתַתָּ֣ה (And you shall put) אֹתָ֗הּ (it) תַּ֛חַת (under) כַּרְכֹּ֥ב (the ledge) הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ (of the altar) מִלְּמָ֑טָּה (from below), וְהָיְתָ֣ה (and shall be) הָרֶ֔שֶׁת (the net) עַ֖ד (up to) חֲצִ֥י (the middle) הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ (of the altar).

6  וְעָשִׂ֤יתָ (And you shall make) בַדִּים֙ (poles) לַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ (for the altar), בַּדֵּ֖י (poles) עֲצֵ֣י (of wood) שִׁטִּ֑ים (acacia), וְצִפִּיתָ֥ (and overlay) אֹתָ֖ם (them) נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ (with bronze). 7  וְהוּבָ֥א (And shall be brought) אֶת־ (-) בַּדָּ֖יו (the poles) בַּטַּבָּעֹ֑ת (into the rings), וְהָי֣וּ (and shall be) הַבַּדִּ֗ים (the poles) עַל־ (on) שְׁתֵּ֛י (the two) צַלְעֹ֥ת (sides) הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ (of the altar), בִּשְׂאֵ֥ת (when carrying) אֹתֽוֹ׃ (it). 8  נְב֥וּב (Hollow), לֻחֹ֖ת (of boards)

תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה (you shall make) אֹת֑וֹ (it). כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר (As) הֶרְאָ֥ה (it was shown) אֹתְךָ֛ (you) בָּהָ֖ר (on the mountain), כֵּ֥ן (so) יַעֲשֽׂוּ׃ס (shall they make it).

The Courtyard
(Exodus 38:9–20)

9  וְעָשִׂ֕יתָ (And you shall make) אֵ֖ת (-) חֲצַ֣ר (the court) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֑ן (of the tabernacle). לִפְאַ֣ת (For the side) נֶֽגֶב־ (south) תֵּ֠ימָנָה (southward) קְלָעִ֨ים (hangings) לֶחָצֵ֜ר (for the court) שֵׁ֣שׁ (of linen) מָשְׁזָ֗ר (finely woven), מֵאָ֤ה (a hundred) בָֽאַמָּה֙ (by the cubit) אֹ֔רֶךְ (the length) לַפֵּאָ֖ה (for the side) הָאֶחָֽת׃ (the one). 10  וְעַמֻּדָ֣יו (And its pillars is) עֶשְׂרִ֔ים (twenty), וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֥ם (and their bases) עֶשְׂרִ֖ים (twenty) נְחֹ֑שֶׁת (bronze); וָוֵ֧י (the hooks) הָעַמֻּדִ֛ים (of the pillars) וַחֲשֻׁקֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bands is) כָּֽסֶף׃ (silver).

11  וְכֵ֨ן (And likewise) לִפְאַ֤ת (along the side) צָפוֹן֙ (north), בָּאֹ֔רֶךְ (the length) קְלָעִ֖ים (hangings) מֵ֣אָה (a hundred cubits) אֹ֑רֶךְ (long), וְעַמְדּוּ (and with its pillars) עֶשְׂרִ֗ים (twenty) וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֤ם (and their bases) עֶשְׂרִים֙ (of twenty) נְחֹ֔שֶׁת (bronze); וָוֵ֧י (and the hooks) הָֽעַמֻּדִ֛ים (of the pillars) וַחֲשֻׁקֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bands) כָּֽסֶף׃ (of silver). 12  וְרֹ֤חַב (And along the width) הֶֽחָצֵר֙ (of the court) לִפְאַת־ (on the side) יָ֔ם (west) קְלָעִ֖ים (hangings) חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים (of fifty) אַמָּ֑ה (cubits); עַמֻּדֵיהֶ֣ם (with their pillars) עֲשָׂרָ֔ה (ten), וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bases) עֲשָׂרָֽה׃ (ten).

13  וְרֹ֣חַב (And the width) הֶֽחָצֵ֗ר (of the court is) לִפְאַ֛ת (on the side) קֵ֥דְמָה (east) מִזְרָ֖חָה (toward the sunrise) חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים (fifty) אַמָּֽה׃ (cubits). 14  וַחֲמֵ֨שׁ (And five) עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה (and ten) אַמָּ֛ה (cubits) קְלָעִ֖ים (the hangings is) לַכָּתֵ֑ף (on one side), עַמֻּדֵיהֶ֣ם (with their pillars) שְׁלֹשָׁ֔ה (three), וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bases) שְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃ (three). 15  וְלַכָּתֵף֙ (And on the side) הַשֵּׁנִ֔ית (the second) חְמֵ֥שׁ (five) עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה (and ten cubits) קְלָעִ֑ים (is hangings) עַמֻּדֵיהֶ֣ם (with their pillars) שְׁלֹשָׁ֔ה (three), וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bases) שְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃ (three).

16  וּלְשַׁ֨עַר (And for the gate) הֶֽחָצֵ֜ר (of the court) מָסָ֣ךְ׀ (is a screen) עֶשְׂרִ֣ים (twenty) אַמָּ֗ה (cubits long), תְּכֵ֨לֶת (blue), וְאַרְגָּמָ֜ן (and purple), וְתוֹלַ֧עַת (and yarn) שָׁנִ֛י (scarlet), וְשֵׁ֥שׁ (and linen) מָשְׁזָ֖ר (finely woven), מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה (the work) רֹקֵ֑ם (of a weaver); עַמֻּֽדֵיהֶם֙ (with its pillars) אַרְבָּעָ֔ה (four) וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֖ם (and its bases) אַרְבָּעָֽה׃ (four).

17  כָּל־ (All) עַמּוּדֵ֨י (the pillars) הֶֽחָצֵ֤ר (of the court) סָבִיב֙ (around) מְחֻשָּׁקִ֣ים (shall have bands) כֶּ֔סֶף (of silver); וָוֵיהֶ֖ם (their hooks is) כָּ֑סֶף (of silver) וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bases) נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ (of bronze). 18  אֹ֣רֶךְ (The length) הֶֽחָצֵר֩ (of the court) מֵאָ֨ה (is a hundred) בָֽאַמָּ֜ה (by the cubit), וְרֹ֣חַב׀ (and the width) חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים (fifty) בַּחֲמִשִּׁ֗ים (by fifty), וְקֹמָ֛ה (and the height) חָמֵ֥שׁ (five) אַמּ֖וֹת (cubits) שֵׁ֣שׁ (of linen) מָשְׁזָ֑ר (finely woven), וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bases) נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ (of bronze). 19  לְכֹל֙ (For all) כְּלֵ֣י (the vessels) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֔ן (of the tabernacle) בְּכֹ֖ל (in all) עֲבֹדָת֑וֹ (its service), וְכָל־ (and all) יְתֵדֹתָ֛יו (its pegs), וְכָל־ (and all) יִתְדֹ֥ת (the pegs) הֶחָצֵ֖ר (of the court) נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ס (is of bronze).

The Oil for the Lamps
(Leviticus 24:1–4)

20  וְאַתָּ֞ה (And you) תְּצַוֶּ֣ה׀ (shall command) אֶת־ (-) בְּנֵ֣י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל (of Israel), וְיִקְח֨וּ (and they shall bring) אֵלֶ֜יךָ (to you) שֶׁ֣מֶן (oil) זַ֥יִת (of olives) זָ֛ךְ (pure) כָּתִ֖ית (pressed) לַמָּא֑וֹר (for the light), לְהַעֲלֹ֥ת (to cause to burn) נֵ֖ר (the lamp) תָּמִֽיד׃ (continually).

21  בְּאֹ֣הֶל (In the Tent) מוֹעֵד֩ (of Meeting) מִח֨וּץ (outside) לַפָּרֹ֜כֶת (the veil) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (that is) עַל־ (over) הָעֵדֻ֗ת (the Testimony), יַעֲרֹךְ֩ (shall arrange) אֹת֨וֹ (it) אַהֲרֹ֧ן (Aaron) וּבָנָ֛יו (and his sons) מֵעֶ֥רֶב (from evening) עַד־ (until) בֹּ֖קֶר (morning) לִפְנֵ֣י (before the face of) יְהוָ֑ה (YHWH); חֻקַּ֤ת (it shall be a statute) עוֹלָם֙ (forever) לְדֹ֣רֹתָ֔ם (for their generations) מֵאֵ֖ת (with) בְּנֵ֥י (the sons) יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ס (of Israel).
