The Bronze Altar
(Exodus 27:1–8)

1  וַיַּ֛עַשׂ (And He made) אֶת־ (-) מִזְבַּ֥ח (the altar) הָעֹלָ֖ה (of the burnt offering) עֲצֵ֣י (of wood) שִׁטִּ֑ים (acacia), חָמֵשׁ֩ (five) אַמּ֨וֹת (cubits) אָרְכּ֜וֹ (its length), וְחָֽמֵשׁ־ (and five) אַמּ֤וֹת (cubits) רָחְבּוֹ֙ (its width)— רָב֔וּעַ (square)— וְשָׁלֹ֥שׁ (and three) אַמּ֖וֹת (cubits) קֹמָתֽוֹ׃ (its height). 2  וַיַּ֣עַשׂ (And He made) קַרְנֹתָ֗יו (its horns) עַ֚ל (on) אַרְבַּ֣ע (four) פִּנֹּתָ֔יו (its corners) מִמֶּ֖נּוּ (from it) הָי֣וּ (were) קַרְנֹתָ֑יו (its horns). וַיְצַ֥ף (And he overlaid) אֹת֖וֹ (it) נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ (with bronze).

3  וַיַּ֜עַשׂ (And He made) אֶֽת־ (-) כָּל־ (all) כְּלֵ֣י (the vessels) הַמִּזְבֵּ֗חַ (of the altar), אֶת־ (-) הַסִּירֹ֤ת (The pots), וְאֶת־ (and) הַיָּעִים֙ (the shovels), וְאֶת־ (and) הַמִּזְרָקֹ֔ת (the basins), אֶת־ (-) הַמִּזְלָגֹ֖ת (the forks), וְאֶת־ (and) הַמַּחְתֹּ֑ת (the firepans); כָּל־ (all) כֵּלָ֖יו (its vessels) עָשָׂ֥ה (he made) נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ (of bronze). 4  וַיַּ֤עַשׂ (And he made) לַמִּזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ (for the altar) מִכְבָּ֔ר (a grate) מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה (of work) רֶ֣שֶׁת (of net) נְחֹ֑שֶׁת (of bronze), תַּ֧חַת (under) כַּרְכֻּבּ֛וֹ (its ledge) מִלְּמַ֖טָּה (from below) עַד־ (up to) חֶצְיֽוֹ׃ (its middle).

5  וַיִּצֹ֞ק (And He cast) אַרְבַּ֧ע (four) טַבָּעֹ֛ת (rings) בְּאַרְבַּ֥ע (for the four) הַקְּצָוֺ֖ת (corners) לְמִכְבַּ֣ר (for the grate) הַנְּחֹ֑שֶׁת (of bronze) בָּתִּ֖ים (as holders) לַבַּדִּֽים׃ (for the poles). 6  וַיַּ֥עַשׂ (And he made) אֶת־ (-) הַבַּדִּ֖ים (the poles) עֲצֵ֣י (of wood) שִׁטִּ֑ים (acacia), וַיְצַ֥ף (and overlaid) אֹתָ֖ם (them) נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ (bronze). 7  וַיָּבֵ֨א (And he brought) אֶת־ (-) הַבַּדִּ֜ים (the poles) בַּטַּבָּעֹ֗ת (into the rings) עַ֚ל (on) צַלְעֹ֣ת (the sides) הַמִּזְבֵּ֔חַ (of the altar), לָשֵׂ֥את (to carry) אֹת֖וֹ (it) בָּהֶ֑ם (with them). נְב֥וּב (Hollow) לֻחֹ֖ת (of boards) עָשָׂ֥ה (He made) אֹתֽוֹ׃ס (the altar).

The Bronze Basin
(Exodus 30:17–21)

8  וַיַּ֗עַשׂ (And he made) אֵ֚ת (-) הַכִּיּ֣וֹר (the basin) נְחֹ֔שֶׁת (of bronze), וְאֵ֖ת (and) כַּנּ֣וֹ (its stand) נְחֹ֑שֶׁת (of bronze), בְּמַרְאֹת֙ (with mirros) הַצֹּ֣בְאֹ֔ת (of the serving women) אֲשֶׁ֣ר (who) צָֽבְא֔וּ (served) פֶּ֖תַח (at the door) אֹ֥הֶל (of the Tent) מוֹעֵֽד׃ס (of Meeting).

The Courtyard
(Exodus 27:9–19)

9  וַיַּ֖עַשׂ (And he made) אֶת־ (-) הֶחָצֵ֑ר (the court). לִפְאַ֣ת׀ (On the side) נֶ֣גֶב (south) תֵּימָ֗נָה (southward) קַלְעֵ֤י (the hangings) הֶֽחָצֵר֙ (of the court were of) שֵׁ֣שׁ (linen) מָשְׁזָ֔ר (finely woven), מֵאָ֖ה (a hundred) בָּאַמָּֽה׃ (by the cubit). 10  עַמּוּדֵיהֶ֣ם (Their pillars) עֶשְׂרִ֔ים (were twenty) וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֥ם (and bases) עֶשְׂרִ֖ים (twenty) נְחֹ֑שֶׁת (bronze); וָוֵ֧י (the hooks) הָעַמֻּדִ֛ים (of the pillars) וַחֲשֻׁקֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bands) כָּֽסֶף׃ (were silver). 11  וְלִפְאַ֤ת (And on the side) צָפוֹן֙ (north) מֵאָ֣ה (were a hundred) בָֽאַמָּ֔ה (by the cubit), עַמּוּדֵיהֶ֣ם (with pillars) עֶשְׂרִ֔ים (twenty) וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֥ם (and bases) עֶשְׂרִ֖ים (twenty) נְחֹ֑שֶׁת (bronze). וָוֵ֧י (The hooks) הָֽעַמּוּדִ֛ים (of the pillars) וַחֲשֻׁקֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bands) כָּֽסֶף׃ (were silver). 12  וְלִפְאַת־ (And on the side) יָ֗ם (west) קְלָעִים֙ (were hangings) חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים (fifty) בָּֽאַמָּ֔ה (by the cubit), עַמּוּדֵיהֶ֥ם (with pillars) עֲשָׂרָ֔ה (ten) וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֖ם (and bases) עֲשָׂרָ֑ה (ten). וָוֵ֧י (The hooks) הָעַמֻּדִ֛ים (of the pillars) וַחֲשׁוּקֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bands) כָּֽסֶף׃ (were silver). 13  וְלִפְאַ֛ת (And at the side) קֵ֥דְמָה (east) מִזְרָ֖חָה (toward the sunrise) חֲמִשִּׁ֥ים (was fifty) אַמָּֽה׃ (cubits).

14  קְלָעִ֛ים (The hangings) חֲמֵשׁ־ (were five) עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה (and ten) אַמָּ֖ה (cubits) אֶל־ (on) הַכָּתֵ֑ף (one side), עַמּוּדֵיהֶ֣ם (with their pillars) שְׁלֹשָׁ֔ה (three) וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bases) שְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃ (three). 15  וְלַכָּתֵ֣ף (And on the side) הַשֵּׁנִ֗ית (the second), מִזֶּ֤ה (from this) וּמִזֶּה֙ (and from that) לְשַׁ֣עַר (at the gate) הֶֽחָצֵ֔ר (of the court), קְלָעִ֕ים (were hangings) חֲמֵ֥שׁ (of five) עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה (and ten) אַמָּ֑ה (cubits), עַמֻּדֵיהֶ֣ם (with their pillars) שְׁלֹשָׁ֔ה (three) וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bases) שְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃ (three). 16  כָּל־ (All) קַלְעֵ֧י (the hangings) הֶחָצֵ֛ר (of the court) סָבִ֖יב (all around) שֵׁ֥שׁ (were of linen) מָשְׁזָֽר׃ (finely woven). 17  וְהָאֲדָנִ֣ים (And the bases) לָֽעַמֻּדִים֮ (for the pillars) נְחֹשֶׁת֒ (were bronze), וָוֵ֨י (the hooks) הָֽעַמּוּדִ֜ים (of the pillars) וַחֲשׁוּקֵיהֶם֙ (and their bands) כֶּ֔סֶף (were silver), וְצִפּ֥וּי (and the overlay) רָאשֵׁיהֶ֖ם (of their tops) כָּ֑סֶף (was silver), וְהֵם֙ (and they) מְחֻשָּׁקִ֣ים (had bands) כֶּ֔סֶף (of silver)— כֹּ֖ל (all) עַמֻּדֵ֥י (the pillars) הֶחָצֵֽר׃ (of the court).

18  וּמָסַ֞ךְ (And the screen) שַׁ֤עַר (of the gate) הֶחָצֵר֙ (of the court) מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה (the work) רֹקֵ֔ם (of a weaver), תְּכֵ֧לֶת (was of blue), וְאַרְגָּמָ֛ן (and purple), וְתוֹלַ֥עַת (and yarn) שָׁנִ֖י (scarlet), וְשֵׁ֣שׁ (and of linen) מָשְׁזָ֑ר (finely woven); וְעֶשְׂרִ֤ים (and twenty) אַמָּה֙ (cubits) אֹ֔רֶךְ (was the length), וְקוֹמָ֤ה (and the height) בְרֹ֙חַב֙ (along its width was) חָמֵ֣שׁ (five) אַמּ֔וֹת (cubits), לְעֻמַּ֖ת (corresponding to) קַלְעֵ֥י (the hangings) הֶחָצֵֽר׃ (of the court). 19  וְעַמֻּֽדֵיהֶם֙ (And there were pillars) אַרְבָּעָ֔ה (four), וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֥ם (and their bases) אַרְבָּעָ֖ה (four) נְחֹ֑שֶׁת (of bronze); וָוֵיהֶ֣ם (their hooks were) כֶּ֔סֶף (silver), וְצִפּ֧וּי (and the overlay) רָאשֵׁיהֶ֛ם (of their tops) וַחֲשֻׁקֵיהֶ֖ם (and their bands) כָּֽסֶף׃ (was silver). 20  וְֽכָל־ (And all) הַיְתֵדֹ֞ת (the pegs) לַמִּשְׁכָּ֧ן (of the tabernacle) וְלֶחָצֵ֛ר (and of the court) סָבִ֖יב (all around) נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ס (were bronze).

24  כָּל־ (All) הַזָּהָ֗ב (the gold) הֶֽעָשׂוּי֙ (used) לַמְּלָאכָ֔ה (for the work), בְּכֹ֖ל (in all) מְלֶ֣אכֶת (the work) הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ (of the Holy Place) וַיְהִ֣י׀ (and it was) זְהַ֣ב (the gold) הַתְּנוּפָ֗ה (of the wave offering)) תֵּ֤שַׁע (was nine) וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ (and twenty) כִּכָּ֔ר (talents) וּשְׁבַ֨ע (and seven) מֵא֧וֹת (hundred) וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֛ים (and thirty) שֶׁ֖קֶל (shekels), בְּשֶׁ֥קֶל (according to the shekel) הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ (of the sanctuary).

25  וְכֶ֛סֶף (And the silver) פְּקוּדֵ֥י (of those numbered) הָעֵדָ֖ה (of the congregation) מְאַ֣ת (was a hundred) כִּכָּ֑ר (talents) וְאֶלֶף֩ (and a thousand) וּשְׁבַ֨ע (and seven) מֵא֜וֹת (hundred) וַחֲמִשָּׁ֧ה (and five) וְשִׁבְעִ֛ים (and seventy) שֶׁ֖קֶל (shekels), בְּשֶׁ֥קֶל (according to the shekel) הַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃ (of the sanctuary)— 26  בֶּ֚קַע (a bekah) לַגֻּלְגֹּ֔לֶת (per head), מַחֲצִ֥ית (that is, half) הַשֶּׁ֖קֶל (a shekel), בְּשֶׁ֣קֶל (according to the shekel) הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ (of the sanctuary), לְכֹ֨ל (for everyone) הָעֹבֵ֜ר (who had passed over) עַל־ (to) הַפְּקֻדִ֗ים (be numbered), מִבֶּ֨ן (from a son) עֶשְׂרִ֤ים (of twenty) שָׁנָה֙ (years old) וָמַ֔עְלָה (and above), לְשֵׁשׁ־ (for six) מֵא֥וֹת (hundred) אֶ֙לֶף֙ (thousand) וּשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת (and three) אֲלָפִ֔ים (thousand) וַחֲמֵ֥שׁ (and five) מֵא֖וֹת (hundred) וַחֲמִשִּֽׁים׃ (and fifty).

27  וַיְהִ֗י (And were) מְאַת֙ (the hundred) כִּכַּ֣ר (talents) הַכֶּ֔סֶף (of the silver) לָצֶ֗קֶת (for casting) אֵ֚ת (-) אַדְנֵ֣י (the bases) הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ (of the Holy Place), וְאֵ֖ת (and) אַדְנֵ֣י (the bases) הַפָּרֹ֑כֶת (of the veil)— מְאַ֧ת (a hundred) אֲדָנִ֛ים (bases) לִמְאַ֥ת (for the hundred) הַכִּכָּ֖ר (talents), כִּכָּ֥ר (one talent) לָאָֽדֶן׃ (per base).

28  וְאֶת־ (And) הָאֶ֜לֶף (the thousand) וּשְׁבַ֤ע (and seven) הַמֵּאוֹת֙ (the hundred) וַחֲמִשָּׁ֣ה (and five) וְשִׁבְעִ֔ים (and seventy shekels) עָשָׂ֥ה (he made) וָוִ֖ים (the hooks) לָעַמּוּדִ֑ים (for the pillars), וְצִפָּ֥ה (and overlaid) רָאשֵׁיהֶ֖ם (their tops), וְחִשַּׁ֥ק (and made bands for) אֹתָֽם׃ (them).

29  וּנְחֹ֥שֶׁת (And the bronze) הַתְּנוּפָ֖ה (of the wave offering) שִׁבְעִ֣ים (was seventy) כִּכָּ֑ר (talents) וְאַלְפַּ֥יִם (and two thousand) וְאַרְבַּע־ (and four) מֵא֖וֹת (hundred) שָֽׁקֶל׃ (shekels). 30  וַיַּ֣עַשׂ (And he made) בָּ֗הּ (with it) אֶת־ (-) אַדְנֵי֙ (the bases) פֶּ֚תַח (of the door) אֹ֣הֶל (of the Tent) מוֹעֵ֔ד (of Meeting), וְאֵת֙ (and) מִזְבַּ֣ח (the altar) הַנְּחֹ֔שֶׁת (of bronze), וְאֶת־ (and) מִכְבַּ֥ר (the grate) הַנְּחֹ֖שֶׁת (of bronze) אֲשֶׁר־ (-) ל֑וֹ (for it), וְאֵ֖ת (and) כָּל־ (all) כְּלֵ֥י (the vessels) הַמִּזְבֵּֽחַ׃ (of the altar), 31  וְאֶת־ (and) אַדְנֵ֤י (the bases) הֶֽחָצֵר֙ (of the court) סָבִ֔יב (all around), וְאֶת־ (and) אַדְנֵ֖י (the bases) שַׁ֣עַר (of the gate) הֶחָצֵ֑ר (the court), וְאֵ֨ת (and) כָּל־ (all) יִתְדֹ֧ת (the pegs) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֛ן (of the tabernacle), וְאֶת־ (and) כָּל־ (all) יִתְדֹ֥ת (the pegs) הֶחָצֵ֖ר (of the court) סָבִֽיב׃ (all around).
