The Ten Curtains for the Tabernacle
(Exodus 36:8–13)

1  וְאֶת־ (And), הַמִּשְׁכָּ֥ן (the tabernacle) תַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה (you shall make) עֶ֣שֶׂר (with ten) יְרִיעֹ֑ת (curtains) שֵׁ֣שׁ (linen) מָשְׁזָ֗ר (finely woven), וּתְכֵ֤לֶת (and blue), וְאַרְגָּמָן֙ (and purple), וְתֹלַ֣עַת (and yarn) שָׁנִ֔י (scarlet); כְּרֻבִ֛ים (cherubim) מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה (the work) חֹשֵׁ֖ב (of a designer) תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה (you shall make) אֹתָֽם׃ (them). 2  אֹ֣רֶךְ׀ (The length) הַיְרִיעָ֣ה (of the curtain is) הָֽאַחַ֗ת (the one) שְׁמֹנֶ֤ה (eight) וְעֶשְׂרִים֙ (and twenty) בָּֽאַמָּ֔ה (by the cubit), וְרֹ֙חַב֙ (and the width) אַרְבַּ֣ע (of four) בָּאַמָּ֔ה (by the cubit) הַיְרִיעָ֖ה (the curtain) הָאֶחָ֑ת (one) מִדָּ֥ה (measurement). אַחַ֖ת (One) לְכָל־ (for all) הַיְרִיעֹֽת׃ (the curtains).

3  חֲמֵ֣שׁ (Five) הַיְרִיעֹ֗ת (curtains) תִּֽהְיֶ֙יןָ֙ (shall be) חֹֽבְרֹ֔ת (joined), אִשָּׁ֖ה (each) אֶל־ (to) אֲחֹתָ֑הּ (her sister); וְחָמֵ֤שׁ (and five) יְרִיעֹת֙ (curtains) חֹֽבְרֹ֔ת (joined) אִשָּׁ֖ה (each) אֶל־ (to) אֲחֹתָֽהּ׃ (her sister). 4  וְעָשִׂ֜יתָ (And you shall make) לֻֽלְאֹ֣ת (loops) תְּכֵ֗לֶת (of blue) עַ֣ל (on) שְׂפַ֤ת (the edge) הַיְרִיעָה֙ (of the curtain) הָאֶחָ֔ת (one) מִקָּצָ֖ה (from the end) בַּחֹבָ֑רֶת (at the joining); וְכֵ֤ן (and likewise) תַּעֲשֶׂה֙ (you shall do) בִּשְׂפַ֣ת (on edge) הַיְרִיעָ֔ה (of the curtain), הַקִּ֣יצוֹנָ֔ה (the outermost) בַּמַּחְבֶּ֖רֶת (at the seam) הַשֵּׁנִֽית׃ (of the second).

5  חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים (Fifty) לֻֽלָאֹ֗ת (loops) תַּעֲשֶׂה֮ (you shall make) בַּיְרִיעָ֣ה (in the curtain) הָאֶחָת֒ (the one), וַחֲמִשִּׁ֣ים (and fifty) לֻֽלָאֹ֗ת (loops) תַּעֲשֶׂה֙ (you shall make) בִּקְצֵ֣ה (on the end) הַיְרִיעָ֔ה (of the curtain) אֲשֶׁ֖ר (that is) בַּמַּחְבֶּ֣רֶת (at the seam) הַשֵּׁנִ֑ית (of the second), מַקְבִּילֹת֙ (that may be clasped) הַלֻּ֣לָאֹ֔ת (the loops) אִשָּׁ֖ה (each) אֶל־ (to) אֲחֹתָֽהּ׃ (her sister). 6  וְעָשִׂ֕יתָ (And you shall make) חֲמִשִּׁ֖ים (fifty) קַרְסֵ֣י (clasps) זָהָ֑ב (of gold), וְחִבַּרְתָּ֨ (and join) אֶת־ (-) הַיְרִיעֹ֜ת (the curtains) אִשָּׁ֤ה (each) אֶל־ (to) אֲחֹתָהּ֙ (her sister) בַּקְּרָסִ֔ים (with the clasps), וְהָיָ֥ה (and shall be) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן (the tabernacle) אֶחָֽד׃פ (one).

The Eleven Curtains of Goat Hair
(Exodus 36:14–19)

7  וְעָשִׂ֙יתָ֙ (And you shall make) יְרִיעֹ֣ת (curtains) עִזִּ֔ים (of goats’ hair) לְאֹ֖הֶל (for a tent) עַל־ (over) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֑ן (the tabernacle); עַשְׁתֵּי־ (one) עֶשְׂרֵ֥ה (and ten) יְרִיעֹ֖ת (curtains) תַּעֲשֶׂ֥ה (you shall make) אֹתָֽם׃ (them). 8  אֹ֣רֶךְ׀ (The length) הַיְרִיעָ֣ה (of the curtain) הָֽאַחַ֗ת (the one) שְׁלֹשִׁים֙ (is thirty) בָּֽאַמָּ֔ה (by the cubit), וְרֹ֙חַב֙ (and the width) אַרְבַּ֣ע (four) בָּאַמָּ֔ה (by the cubit); הַיְרִיעָ֖ה (curtain) הָאֶחָ֑ת (of the one) מִדָּ֣ה (measurement) אַחַ֔ת (one) לְעַשְׁתֵּ֥י (for one) עֶשְׂרֵ֖ה (and ten) יְרִיעֹֽת׃ (curtains).

9  וְחִבַּרְתָּ֞ (And you shall join) אֶת־ (-) חֲמֵ֤שׁ (five) הַיְרִיעֹת֙ (the curtain) לְבָ֔ד (by themselves), וְאֶת־ (and) שֵׁ֥שׁ (six) הַיְרִיעֹ֖ת (the curtain) לְבָ֑ד (by themselves), וְכָפַלְתָּ֙ (and you shall double over) אֶת־ (-) הַיְרִיעָ֣ה (the curtain) הַשִּׁשִּׁ֔ית (the sixth) אֶל־ (at) מ֖וּל (the front) פְּנֵ֥י (of the face) הָאֹֽהֶל׃ (of the tent).

10  וְעָשִׂ֜יתָ (And you shall make) חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים (fifty) לֻֽלָאֹ֗ת (loops) עַ֣ל (on) שְׂפַ֤ת (edge) הַיְרִיעָה֙ (of the curtain) הָֽאֶחָ֔ת (the one) הַקִּיצֹנָ֖ה (the outermost) בַּחֹבָ֑רֶת (at the joining), וַחֲמִשִּׁ֣ים (and fifty) לֻֽלָאֹ֗ת (loops) עַ֚ל (on) שְׂפַ֣ת (the edge) הַיְרִיעָ֔ה (of the curtain) הַחֹבֶ֖רֶת (at the seam) הַשֵּׁנִֽית׃ (of the second). 11  וְעָשִׂ֛יתָ (And you shall make) קַרְסֵ֥י (clasps) נְחֹ֖שֶׁת (of bronze) חֲמִשִּׁ֑ים (fifty), וְהֵבֵאתָ֤ (and bring) אֶת־ (-) הַקְּרָסִים֙ (the clasps) בַּלֻּ֣לָאֹ֔ת (into the loops), וְחִבַּרְתָּ֥ (and join together) אֶת־ (-) הָאֹ֖הֶל (the tent) וְהָיָ֥ה (and it shall be) אֶחָֽד׃ (one).

12  וְסֶ֙רַח֙ (And the excess) הָעֹדֵ֔ף (that remains) בִּירִיעֹ֖ת (in the curtains) הָאֹ֑הֶל (of the tent), חֲצִ֤י (half) הַיְרִיעָה֙ (the curtain) הָעֹדֶ֔פֶת (that remains), תִּסְרַ֕ח (shall hang) עַ֖ל (over) אֲחֹרֵ֥י (the back) הַמִּשְׁכָּֽן׃ (of the tabernacle). 13  וְהָאַמָּ֨ה (And the cubit) מִזֶּ֜ה (from this side), וְהָאַמָּ֤ה (and the cubit) מִזֶּה֙ (from that side)— בָּעֹדֵ֔ף (in the remains) בְּאֹ֖רֶךְ (in the length) יְרִיעֹ֣ת (of the curtains) הָאֹ֑הֶל (of the tent)— יִהְיֶ֨ה (shall) סָר֜וּחַ (hang) עַל־ (over) צִדֵּ֧י (the sides) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֛ן (of the tabernacle) מִזֶּ֥ה (from this side) וּמִזֶּ֖ה (and from that side) לְכַסֹּתֽוֹ׃ (to cover it).

14  וְעָשִׂ֤יתָ (And you shall make) מִכְסֶה֙ (a covering) לָאֹ֔הֶל (for the tent), עֹרֹ֥ת (of skins) אֵילִ֖ם (ram) מְאָדָּמִ֑ים (dyed red), וּמִכְסֵ֛ה (and a covering) עֹרֹ֥ת (of skins) תְּחָשִׁ֖ים (of badger) מִלְמָֽעְלָה׃פ (from above).

The Frames and Bases
(Exodus 36:20–34)

15  וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ (And you shall make) אֶת־ (-) הַקְּרָשִׁ֖ים (the boards) לַמִּשְׁכָּ֑ן (for the tabernacle) עֲצֵ֥י (of wood) שִׁטִּ֖ים (acacia) עֹמְדִֽים׃ (standing upright). 16  עֶ֥שֶׂר (Ten) אַמּ֖וֹת (cubits) אֹ֣רֶךְ (is the length) הַקָּ֑רֶשׁ (of the board), וְאַמָּה֙ (and a cubit) וַחֲצִ֣י (and a half) הָֽאַמָּ֔ה (cubit) רֹ֖חַב (is the width) הַקֶּ֥רֶשׁ (of the board) הָאֶחָֽד׃ (the one). 17  שְׁתֵּ֣י (Two) יָד֗וֹת (tenons is) לַקֶּ֙רֶשׁ֙ (in the board) הָאֶחָ֔ד (the one) מְשֻׁלָּבֹ֔ת (for binding) אִשָּׁ֖ה (each) אֶל־ (to) אֲחֹתָ֑הּ (her sister). כֵּ֣ן (Thus) תַּעֲשֶׂ֔ה (you shall do) לְכֹ֖ל (for all) קַרְשֵׁ֥י (the boards) הַמִּשְׁכָּֽן׃ (of the tabernacle).

18  וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ (And you shall make) אֶת־ (-) הַקְּרָשִׁ֖ים (the boards) לַמִּשְׁכָּ֑ן (for the tabernacle) עֶשְׂרִ֣ים (twenty) קֶ֔רֶשׁ (boards) לִפְאַ֖ת (for the side) נֶ֥גְבָּה (south), תֵימָֽנָה׃ (southward). 19  וְאַרְבָּעִים֙ (And forty) אַדְנֵי־ (bases) כֶ֔סֶף (of silver) תַּעֲשֶׂ֕ה (you shall make) תַּ֖חַת (under) עֶשְׂרִ֣ים (twenty) הַקָּ֑רֶשׁ (the boards), שְׁנֵ֨י (two) אֲדָנִ֜ים (bases) תַּֽחַת־ (under) הַקֶּ֤רֶשׁ (the board) הָאֶחָד֙ (the one) לִשְׁתֵּ֣י (for its two) יְדֹתָ֔יו (tenons), וּשְׁנֵ֧י (and two) אֲדָנִ֛ים (bases) תַּֽחַת־ (under) הַקֶּ֥רֶשׁ (the board) הָאֶחָ֖ד (the one) לִשְׁתֵּ֥י (for its two) יְדֹתָֽיו׃ (tenons).

20  וּלְצֶ֧לַע (And for the side) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֛ן (of the tabernacle) הַשֵּׁנִ֖ית (second), לִפְאַ֣ת (on the side) צָפ֑וֹן (north), עֶשְׂרִ֖ים (are twenty) קָֽרֶשׁ׃ (boards), 21  וְאַרְבָּעִ֥ים (and their forty) אַדְנֵיהֶ֖ם (bases) כָּ֑סֶף (of silver), שְׁנֵ֣י (two) אֲדָנִ֗ים (bases) תַּ֚חַת (under) הַקֶּ֣רֶשׁ (the board) הָֽאֶחָ֔ד (the one), וּשְׁנֵ֣י (and two) אֲדָנִ֔ים (bases) תַּ֖חַת (under) הַקֶּ֥רֶשׁ (the board) הָאֶחָֽד׃ (the one).

22  וּֽלְיַרְכְּתֵ֥י (And for the far side) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן (of the tabernacle), יָ֑מָּה (westward), תַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה (you shall make) שִׁשָּׁ֥ה (six) קְרָשִֽׁים׃ (boards). 23  וּשְׁנֵ֤י (And two) קְרָשִׁים֙ (boards) תַּעֲשֶׂ֔ה (you shall make) לִמְקֻצְעֹ֖ת (for the corners) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֑ן (of the tabernacle) בַּיַּרְכָתָֽיִם׃ (for the rear sides). 24  וְיִֽהְי֣וּ (And they shall be) תֹֽאֲמִים֮ (coupled) מִלְּמַטָּה֒ (from the bottom), וְיַחְדָּ֗ו (and together) יִהְי֤וּ (they shall be) תַמִּים֙ (complete) עַל־ (at) רֹאשׁ֔וֹ (its top) אֶל־ (by) הַטַּבַּ֖עַת (the ring) הָאֶחָ֑ת (the one); כֵּ֚ן (thus) יִהְיֶ֣ה (it shall be) לִשְׁנֵיהֶ֔ם (for the two of them); לִשְׁנֵ֥י (for the two) הַמִּקְצֹעֹ֖ת (corners) יִהְיֽוּ׃ (they shall be). 25  וְהָיוּ֙ (And there shall be) שְׁמֹנָ֣ה (eight) קְרָשִׁ֔ים (boards) וְאַדְנֵיהֶ֣ם (and their bases) כֶּ֔סֶף (of silver), שִׁשָּׁ֥ה (six) עָשָׂ֖ר (and ten) אֲדָנִ֑ים (bases), שְׁנֵ֣י (two) אֲדָנִ֗ים (bases) תַּ֚חַת (under) הַקֶּ֣רֶשׁ (the board) הָאֶחָ֔ד (the one), וּשְׁנֵ֣י (and two) אֲדָנִ֔ים (bases) תַּ֖חַת (under) הַקֶּ֥רֶשׁ (the board) הָאֶחָֽד׃ (the one).

26  וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ (And you shall make) בְרִיחִ֖ם (bars) עֲצֵ֣י (wood) שִׁטִּ֑ים (of acacia), חֲמִשָּׁ֕ה (five) לְקַרְשֵׁ֥י (for the boards) צֶֽלַע־ (of the side) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן (of the tabernacle) הָאֶחָֽד׃ (the one), 27  וַחֲמִשָּׁ֣ה (and five) בְרִיחִ֔ם (bars) לְקַרְשֵׁ֥י (for the boards) צֶֽלַע־ (of the side) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן (of the tabernacle) הַשֵּׁנִ֑ית (the second), וַחֲמִשָּׁ֣ה (and five) בְרִיחִ֗ם (bars) לְקַרְשֵׁי֙ (for the boards) צֶ֣לַע (of the side) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֔ן (of the tabernacle) לַיַּרְכָתַ֖יִם (for the rear sides) יָֽמָּה׃ (westward).

28  וְהַבְּרִ֥יחַ (And the bar) הַתִּיכֹ֖ן (the middle) בְּת֣וֹךְ (in the midst) הַקְּרָשִׁ֑ים (of the boards) מַבְרִ֕חַ (shall pass through) מִן־ (from) הַקָּצֶ֖ה (the end) אֶל־ (to) הַקָּצֶֽה׃ (the end). 29  וְֽאֶת־ (And) הַקְּרָשִׁ֞ים (the boards) תְּצַפֶּ֣ה (you shall overlay) זָהָ֗ב (with gold), וְאֶת־ (and) טַבְּעֹֽתֵיהֶם֙ (their rings) תַּעֲשֶׂ֣ה (make) זָהָ֔ב (of gold) בָּתִּ֖ים (as holders) לַבְּרִיחִ֑ם (for the bars), וְצִפִּיתָ֥ (and overlay) אֶת־ (-) הַבְּרִיחִ֖ם (the bars) זָהָֽב׃ (with gold).

30  וַהֲקֵמֹתָ֖ (And you shall raise up) אֶת־ (-) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֑ן (the tabernacle) כְּמִ֨שְׁפָּט֔וֹ (according to its pattern) אֲשֶׁ֥ר (that) הָרְאֵ֖יתָ (you were shown) בָּהָֽר׃ס (on the mountain).

The Veil
(Exodus 36:35–36)

31  וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ (And you shall make) פָרֹ֗כֶת (a veil) תְּכֵ֧לֶת (of blue) וְאַרְגָּמָ֛ן (and purple) וְתוֹלַ֥עַת (and yarn) שָׁנִ֖י (scarlet), וְשֵׁ֣שׁ (and linen) מָשְׁזָ֑ר (finely woven), מַעֲשֵׂ֥ה (the work) חֹשֵׁ֛ב (of a designer) יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה (he shall make) אֹתָ֖הּ (on it) כְּרֻבִֽים׃ (cherubim). 32  וְנָתַתָּ֣ה (And you shall put) אֹתָ֗הּ (it) עַל־ (upon) אַרְבָּעָה֙ (four) עַמּוּדֵ֣י (pillars) שִׁטִּ֔ים (of acacia wood) מְצֻפִּ֣ים (overlaid) זָהָ֔ב (with gold); וָוֵיהֶ֖ם (their hooks) זָהָ֑ב (of gold), עַל־ (upon) אַרְבָּעָ֖ה (four) אַדְנֵי־ (bases) כָֽסֶף׃ (of silver). 33  וְנָתַתָּ֣ה (And you shall put) אֶת־ (-) הַפָּרֹכֶת֮ (the veil) תַּ֣חַת (under) הַקְּרָסִים֒ (the clasps), וְהֵבֵאתָ֥ (and you shall bring) שָׁ֙מָּה֙ (there) מִבֵּ֣ית (within) לַפָּרֹ֔כֶת (the veil) אֵ֖ת (-) אֲר֣וֹן (the ark) הָעֵד֑וּת (of the Testimony). וְהִבְדִּילָ֤ה (And shall divide) הַפָּרֹ֙כֶת֙ (the veil) לָכֶ֔ם (for you⁺) בֵּ֣ין (between) הַקֹּ֔דֶשׁ (the Holy Place) וּבֵ֖ין (and between) קֹ֥דֶשׁ (the Holy) הַקֳּדָשִֽׁים׃ (of Holies).

34  וְנָתַתָּ֙ (And you shall put) אֶת־ (-) הַכַּפֹּ֔רֶת (the mercy seat) עַ֖ל (upon) אֲר֣וֹן (the ark) הָעֵדֻ֑ת (of the Testimony) בְּקֹ֖דֶשׁ (in the Holy) הַקֳּדָשִֽׁים׃ (of Holies). 35  וְשַׂמְתָּ֤ (And you shall set) אֶת־ (-) הַשֻּׁלְחָן֙ (the table) מִח֣וּץ (outside) לַפָּרֹ֔כֶת (the veil), וְאֶת־ (and) הַמְּנֹרָה֙ (the lampstand) נֹ֣כַח (across from) הַשֻּׁלְחָ֔ן (the table) עַ֛ל (on) צֶ֥לַע (the side) הַמִּשְׁכָּ֖ן (of the tabernacle) תֵּימָ֑נָה (southward); וְהַ֨שֻּׁלְחָ֔ן (and the table) תִּתֵּ֖ן (you shall put) עַל־ (on) צֶ֥לַע (the side) צָפֽוֹן׃ (north).

The Curtain for the Entrance
(Exodus 36:37–38)

36  וְעָשִׂ֤יתָ (And you shall make) מָסָךְ֙ (a screen) לְפֶ֣תַח (for the door) הָאֹ֔הֶל (of the tent), תְּכֵ֧לֶת (blue), וְאַרְגָּמָ֛ן (and purple), וְתוֹלַ֥עַת (and yarn) שָׁנִ֖י (scarlet), וְשֵׁ֣שׁ (and linen) מָשְׁזָ֑ר (finely woven), מַעֲשֵׂ֖ה (the work) רֹקֵֽם׃ (of a weaver). 37  וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ (And you shall make) לַמָּסָ֗ךְ (for the screen) חֲמִשָּׁה֙ (five) עַמּוּדֵ֣י (pillars) שִׁטִּ֔ים (of acacia wood), וְצִפִּיתָ֤ (and overlay) אֹתָם֙ (them) זָהָ֔ב (with gold). וָוֵיהֶ֖ם (Their hooks are) זָהָ֑ב (of gold), וְיָצַקְתָּ֣ (and you shall cast) לָהֶ֔ם (for them) חֲמִשָּׁ֖ה (five) אַדְנֵ֥י (bases) נְחֹֽשֶׁת׃ס (of bronze).
