Rejoicing in Heaven

1  Μετὰ (After) ταῦτα (these things) ἤκουσα (I heard) ὡς (something like) φωνὴν (a voice) μεγάλην (loud) ὄχλου (of a multitude) πολλοῦ (great) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven) λεγόντων (saying)·

Ἁλληλουϊά (Hallelujah)·

ἡ (The) σωτηρία (salvation) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) δόξα (glory) καὶ (and) ἡ (the) δύναμις (power) τοῦ (of the) Θεοῦ (God) ἡμῶν (of us),

2  ὅτι (For) ἀληθιναὶ (true) καὶ (and) δίκαιαι (righteous are) αἱ (the) κρίσεις (judgments) αὐτοῦ (of Him)·

ὅτι (because) ἔκρινεν (He judged) τὴν (the) πόρνην (prostitute) τὴν (-) μεγάλην (great)

ἥτις (who) ἔφθειρεν (was corrupting) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) πορνείᾳ (sexual immorality) αὐτῆς (of her),

καὶ (and) ἐξεδίκησεν (He avenged) τὸ (the) αἷμα (blood) τῶν (of the) δούλων (servants) αὐτοῦ (of Him)

ἐκ (out of) χειρὸς (the hand) αὐτῆς (of her).

3  Καὶ (And) δεύτερον (a second time) εἴρηκαν (they said)·

Ἁλληλουϊά (Hallelujah)· καὶ (And)

ὁ (the) καπνὸς (smoke) αὐτῆς (of her) ἀναβαίνει (goes up) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages).

4  Καὶ (And) ἔπεσαν (fell down) οἱ (the) πρεσβύτεροι (elders) οἱ (-) εἴκοσι (twenty) τέσσαρες (four) καὶ (and) τὰ (the) τέσσαρα (four) ζῷα (living creatures), καὶ (and) προσεκύνησαν (they worshiped) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (God) τῷ (the One) καθημένῳ (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τῷ (the) θρόνῳ (throne) λέγοντες (saying)·

Ἀμήν (Amen), Ἁλληλουϊά (Hallelujah).

5  Καὶ (And) φωνὴ (a voice) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) ἐξῆλθεν (came out) λέγουσα (saying)·

Αἰνεῖτε (Praise) τῷ (the) Θεῷ (God) ἡμῶν (of us),

πάντες (all) οἱ (the) δοῦλοι (servants) αὐτοῦ (of Him),

καὶ (and) οἱ (those) φοβούμενοι (fearing) αὐτόν (Him),

οἱ (the) μικροὶ (small) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) μεγάλοι (great).

6  Καὶ (And) ἤκουσα (I heard) ὡς (something like) φωνὴν (a voice) ὄχλου (of a multitude) πολλοῦ (great) καὶ (and) ὡς (as) φωνὴν (a voice) ὑδάτων (of waters) πολλῶν (many) καὶ (and) ὡς (as) φωνὴν (a voice) βροντῶν (of thunders) ἰσχυρῶν (strong), λεγόντων (saying)·

Ἁλληλουϊά (Hallelujah),

ὅτι (For) ἐβασίλευσεν (has reigned) Κύριος (the Lord) ὁ (-) Θεός (God) ἡμῶν (of us) ὁ (the) Παντοκράτωρ (Almighty).

7  χαίρωμεν (We should rejoice) καὶ (and) ἀγαλλιῶμεν (should exult),

καὶ (and) δώσομεν (we will give) τὴν (the) δόξαν (glory) αὐτῷ (to Him),

ὅτι (because) ἦλθεν (has come) ὁ (the) γάμος (marriage) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb),

καὶ (and) ἡ (the) γυνὴ (bride) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἡτοίμασεν (has prepared) ἑαυτήν (herself),

8  καὶ (And) ἐδόθη (it was given) αὐτῇ (to her)

ἵνα (that) περιβάληται (she should be clothed in) βύσσινον (fine linen) λαμπρὸν (bright) καθαρόν (and pure)·

Τὸ (-) γὰρ (For) βύσσινον (the fine linen) τὰ (the) δικαιώματα (righteous acts) τῶν (of the) ἁγίων (saints) ἐστίν (is).

9  Καὶ (And) λέγει (he says) μοι (to me)· Γράψον (Write)· Μακάριοι (Blessed are) οἱ (those) εἰς (to) τὸ (the) δεῖπνον (supper) τοῦ (of the) γάμου (marriage) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb) κεκλημένοι (having been called). καὶ (And) λέγει (he says) μοι (to me)· Οὗτοι (These) οἱ (the) λόγοι (words) ἀληθινοὶ (true) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) εἰσιν (are).

10  Καὶ (And) ἔπεσα (I fell) ἔμπροσθεν (before) τῶν (the) ποδῶν (feet) αὐτοῦ (of him) προσκυνῆσαι (to worship) αὐτῷ (him). καὶ (And) λέγει (he says) μοι (to me)· Ὅρα (See) μή (no)· σύνδουλός (A fellow servant) σού (with you) εἰμι (I am) καὶ (and) τῶν (the) ἀδελφῶν (brothers) σου (of you) τῶν (those) ἐχόντων (having) τὴν (the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus)· τῷ (-) Θεῷ (God) προσκύνησον (worship)· ἡ (The) γὰρ (for) μαρτυρία (testimony) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) ἐστιν (is) τὸ (the) πνεῦμα (spirit) τῆς (-) προφητείας (of prophecy).

11  Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) τὸν (-) οὐρανὸν (heaven) ἠνεῳγμένον (having been opened), καὶ (and) ἰδοὺ (behold) ἵππος (a horse) λευκός (white), καὶ (and) ὁ (the One) καθήμενος (sitting) ἐπ’ (upon) αὐτὸν (it) Πιστὸς (Faithful) καλούμενος (called) καὶ (and) Ἀληθινός (True), καὶ (and) ἐν (in) δικαιοσύνῃ (righteousness) κρίνει (He judges) καὶ (and) πολεμεῖ (makes war). 12  οἱ (-) δὲ (And) ὀφθαλμοὶ (the eyes) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ὡς (are like) φλὸξ (a flame) πυρός (of fire), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (upon) τὴν (the) κεφαλὴν (head) αὐτοῦ (of Him) διαδήματα (diadems) πολλά (many), ἔχων (having) ὄνομα (a name) γεγραμμένον (written) ὃ (which) οὐδεὶς (no one) οἶδεν (knows) εἰ (if) μὴ (not) αὐτός (He Himself), 13  καὶ (and) περιβεβλημένος (clothed with) ἱμάτιον (a garment) βεβαμμένον (dipped) αἵματι (in blood), καὶ (And) κέκληται (is called) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) αὐτοῦ (of Him) Ὁ (The) Λόγος (Word) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).

14  Καὶ (And) τὰ (the) στρατεύματα (armies) τὰ (who were) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven) ἠκολούθει (were following) αὐτῷ (Him) ἐφ’ (upon) ἵπποις (horses) λευκοῖς (white), ἐνδεδυμένοι (dressed in) βύσσινον (fine linen) λευκὸν (white) καθαρόν (and pure). 15  καὶ (And) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) στόματος (mouth) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐκπορεύεται (proceeds) ῥομφαία (a sword) ὀξεῖα (sharp), ἵνα (so that) ἐν (with) αὐτῇ (it) πατάξῃ (He may strike down) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations)· καὶ (and) αὐτὸς (He) ποιμανεῖ (will shepherd) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐν (with) ῥάβδῳ (a rod) σιδηρᾷ (of iron)· καὶ (And) αὐτὸς (He) πατεῖ (treads) τὴν (the) ληνὸν (press) τοῦ (of the) οἴνου (wine) τοῦ (of the) θυμοῦ (fury) τῆς (of the) ὀργῆς (wrath) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) τοῦ (the) Παντοκράτορος (Almighty). 16  καὶ (And) ἔχει (He has) ἐπὶ (upon) τὸ (the) ἱμάτιον (robe) καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (upon) τὸν (the) μηρὸν (thigh) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ὄνομα (a name) γεγραμμένον (written)

17  Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) ἕνα (one) ἄγγελον (angel) ἑστῶτα (standing) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ἡλίῳ (sun), καὶ (and) ἔκραξεν (he cried out) ἐν (in) φωνῇ (a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud) λέγων (saying) πᾶσιν (to all) τοῖς (the) ὀρνέοις (birds) τοῖς (-) πετομένοις (flying) ἐν (in) μεσουρανήματι (mid-heaven)· Δεῦτε (Come) συνάχθητε (gather yourselves together) εἰς (unto) τὸ (the) δεῖπνον (supper) τὸ (-) μέγα (great) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), 18  ἵνα (so that) φάγητε (you⁺ may eat) σάρκας (the flesh) βασιλέων (of kings) καὶ (and) σάρκας (the flesh) χιλιάρχων (of commanders) καὶ (and) σάρκας (the flesh) ἰσχυρῶν (of strong men) καὶ (and) σάρκας (the flesh) ἵππων (of horses) καὶ (and) τῶν (of those) καθημένων (sitting) ἐπ’ (on) αὐτῶν (them), καὶ (and) σάρκας (the flesh) πάντων (of all) ἐλευθέρων (free) τε (both) καὶ (and) δούλων (slaves) καὶ (and) μικρῶν (small) καὶ (and) μεγάλων (great).

19  Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) τὸ (the) θηρίον (beast) καὶ (and) τοὺς (the) βασιλεῖς (kings) τῆς (of the) γῆς (earth) καὶ (and) τὰ (the) στρατεύματα (armies) αὐτῶν (of them) συνηγμένα (having been gathered together) ποιῆσαι (to make) τὸν (-) πόλεμον (war) μετὰ (with) τοῦ (the One) καθημένου (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τοῦ (the) ἵππου (horse) καὶ (and) μετὰ (with) τοῦ (the) στρατεύματος (army) αὐτοῦ (of Him). 20  καὶ (And) ἐπιάσθη (was captured) τὸ (the) θηρίον (beast) καὶ (and) μετ’ (with) αὐτοῦ (him) ὁ (the) ψευδοπροφήτης (false prophet) ὁ (the one) ποιήσας (having done) τὰ (the) σημεῖα (signs) ἐνώπιον (before) αὐτοῦ (him), ἐν (by) οἷς (which) ἐπλάνησεν (he deceived) τοὺς (those) λαβόντας (having received) τὸ (the) χάραγμα (mark) τοῦ (of the) θηρίου (beast) καὶ (and) τοὺς (those) προσκυνοῦντας (worshiping) τῇ (the) εἰκόνι (image) αὐτοῦ (of it)· ζῶντες (living) ἐβλήθησαν (were cast) οἱ (the) δύο (two) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) λίμνην (lake) τοῦ (-) πυρὸς (of fire) τῆς (-) καιομένης (burning) ἐν (with) θείῳ (sulfur). 21  καὶ (And) οἱ (the) λοιποὶ (rest) ἀπεκτάνθησαν (were killed) ἐν (with) τῇ (the) ῥομφαίᾳ (sword) τοῦ (of the One) καθημένου (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τοῦ (the) ἵππου (horse) τῇ (-) ἐξελθούσῃ (having gone forth) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) στόματος (mouth) αὐτοῦ (of Him),

Καὶ (And) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ὄρνεα (birds) ἐχορτάσθησαν (were filled) ἐκ (with) τῶν (the) σαρκῶν (flesh) αὐτῶν (of them).
